30 pin to HDMI now not supported?

I Have a 30 pin to HDMI connector and I now get the error "this device is not supported" when I plug them in.   Is there a way to fix this?  It just started to happen and I can not fix it.

UNfortunately there is no way to fix this, not even with the newest iOS 8.1 --- i hoped iOS 8.1 would have solved the HDMI screen mirroring problem, but i was wrong. I suggest to inform Apple of this problem by writing to

  • Macbook Pro Retina HDMI Does Not Support 2560 x 1080

I have both the early and late 2013 rMBP 15 inch but it seems like the early 2013 does not support my Dell U2913WM at maximum resolution of 2560 x 1080 for some reason on HDMI. Are the HDMI ports any different between the two? I'm tried using SwitchResX, but at 2560 x 1080, I can only go up to 53 Hz before it says invalid configuation on the early 2013 rMBP. On the late 2013 rMBP, it can output 2560 x 1080 at 60 Hz fine. It would seem like both graphics cards are more than capable of pushing this resolution, and if I connect through Displayport, they're both fine too. I was hoping to use HDMI though to free up a Thunderbolt port. Why are the HDMI ports not outputting at the same capabilities?

Absolutely, I understand that but I'm wondering if or why Apple has limited the HDMI port on the early 2013 rMBP. HDMI 1.4 should be more than capable at outputting up to 4k resolution, so it would seem like Apple is intentially limiting the early 2013 rMBP to HDMI 1.2? At least one post from as early as 2012 seems to suggest that installing Windows on a rMBP allows higher outputs. I thought Mavericks included support for HDMI 1.4 (http://www.reduser.net/forum/showthread.php?101431-10-9-Mavericks-4K-working-tes ting-it-now) but did they not extend it down to the early 2013 rMBP? Seems like it would be able to support it, no?
Perhaps the better question is whether anyone has been able to output anything at over 1080P on anything other than the latest rMBP after upgrading to Mavericks?
    From the earlier discussion:
"The port definitely supports it, but OS X is another story. If I boot into Windows and connect it to a display capable of displaying 2560x1440 over HDMI, it just works. If I'm in OSX, it refuses to allow anything over 1920x1200. Even if I try to force the resolution with SwitchResX, it doesn't work. If I create a custom resolution with a 40Hz refresh rate instead of 60Hz, then it does actually work. 2560x1440 @ 40Hz fits within the bandwidth constraints of a single link at 165MHz. So it appears that OSX limits the port to 1.2 frequencies. I'm not realy sure why -- HDMI 1.4 should allow for frequencies upto 340MHz, and the hardware is clearly capable based on Windows."
Now that Mavericks supports higher than 1080P over HDMI at least on the latest rMBP, did they just not extend that support to earlier rMBP's even though the hardware is capable of it?

  • 3rd party hdmi adaptor not supported after ios 8

Hi everyone..... since i updated my ipad 2 to the ios8 i can no longer watch or view my photos on the tv with my 3rd part hdmi adapter it says this is not supported now, i went to apple and they said its coz its not an apple product i said it worked before but no one is offering any advice.

It is possible that iOS 8 has been tweaked to sense the adapters being used.  That was done with iOS 7 and the Lightning cables - the iOS devices would simply reject those that were not in full compliance with Apple specs.  Some of he high quality third-party cables were fine and worked.  Those that were the cheaper knockoffs did not work, the device would not charge and would not be recognized by iTunes.
i always stay with Apple stuff unless they do not make a particular cable/adapter but sell a third-party item.

  • IPad mini says the 30 pin VGA adaptor is not supported

I bought a 30 pin VGA adaptor, in the apple store. When I plug the adaptor into the iPad mini I get a pop up that says "device not supported by iPad"

If you mean you're using this:
    http://store.apple.com/us/product/MD823ZM/A/lightning-to-30-pin-adapter?fnode=3a
    with this:
    http://store.apple.com/us/product/MC552ZM/B/apple-vga-adapter
You can't. As it says on the first page (emphasis mine), "This adapter lets you connect devices with a Lightning connector to many of your 30-pin accessories.* Supports analog audio output, USB audio, as well as syncing and charging. Video output not supported." You need the Lightning to VGA adapter.
If that's not what you mean, please post back and clarify what it is you are using and attempting to accomplish.
    Regards.

  • HT5012 Ipad 2 hdmi adapter not supported via Netflix

I am using an ipad 2 with updated iOS 7.0.6. Whenever I try to stream my netflix app via the 30pin hdmi adapter it will pop up with an error stating that the adapter is not supported. Please help!!

Using a generic 10ft HDMI cable for the IPad2 with the HDMI adapter from Apple is working for me (destination is .  On occasion it loses the audio.  Stopping and starting the video player usually brings the audio back.  The audio sometimes works at first and then randomly fails.  I suspected imperceptible movement between the stiff HDMI cable, the adapter, and IPad2.  Securing the wires to relieve strain relative to the IPad2 appears to have helped, but that means the device cannot be moved around freely.  (Why audio would drop instead of high bandwidth video or both signals, I have no idea.)

  • New Yahoo webmail and Apple Safari now NOT supported!!

This is really frustrating, but when you open Yahoo webmail now, you get a message saying Apple Safari is NOT supported. What a joke!! They support mozilla and firefox for mac, but not Safari. In order to use Safari, you have to use the "old" Yahoo Webmail system.

As a fellow yahoo user when I got my mac I found out quickly that yahoo is not very mac friendly. It does seem that the browser priority goes from IE on windows to Firefox to Safari. And I do experience (especially with yahoo) that Safari gets left out a little. I switched to os x mail right away after getting my mac and never looked back. Now I get frustrated just to use yahoo webmail cause I can't find anything..the search has always been bad...
    Don't know if that helps!

  • HDMI video not supporting on nokia n8

    Hi Team,
My H/S is Nokia N8,No doubt about the performance, however have downloaded HDMI video but not working..
Can I know what format would be working and what format shall I download

I think you are mistaken. HDMI is not a video format. HDMI is an output port for fast data transfer. What exactly did you download anyway?

  • BCM5709 now not supported in Solaris 10 5/09

After such a long battle to get these NIC's behaving (refer other post in this forum) I was surprised to read this in the Sol 10 5/09 release notes:
    http://docs.sun.com/app/docs/doc/820-7273/chapter2-1000?l=en&a=view
    ===quote===
x86: bnx Driver Does Not Support Broadcom NetXtreme II 5709 Chipset (6637053)
The Broadcom NetXtreme II 5709 (BCM5709) chipset is not supported in the Solaris 10 5/09 release.
Workaround: Download the bnx driver from the http://www.broadcom.com/support/ethernet_nic/downloaddrivers.php web site.
    ===quote===
So after long discussions to NOT use the broadcom driver and use the Sun version of the same thing for Sol10 Upd8, the opposite it true for Sol10 Upd9!!!!
Thoughts? Will the dozens of server types using this chipset be upgradeable?

Run `/usr/X11R6/bin/scanpci` and see what type of network adapter you have.
Download the drivers for it and place them in /kernel/drv and /kernel/drv/amd64 (depending on your CPU architecture). Sometimes they'll have their own package installer so you can use `pkgadd -d . package_name` on the directory your uncompressed it (read the instruction on the download).
After that is done, sometimes the device ID will still not match your card's so you need to give Solaris a little help by telling it which driver to load with add_drv (it modified /etc/name_to_major, /etc/driver_aliases, etc). Eg.:
    # add_drv -i pci8086,10bc e1000g (for a intel chipset)
    # bootadm update-archive
    # reboot
I've had a desktop computer with a Broadcom adapter but I don't know if it was the same as yours. Anyway, I downloaded the BCME driver from Broadcom and it worked fine.

  • MacBook to HDMI Connect - Not Supported

I have been using the same HDMI cord connecting to my same MacBook for a year now.  I have enjoyed watching movies without a single problem.  Two software updates later and my HDMI cord says it is no longer supported.  I have read just about everything out there and have changed my remote settings, changed my display resolution on my MacBook and nothing works.  My television has not changed as it is a 1080p, but cannot quite figure out how a software update on my computer would throw off my HDMI displays.  I have tried a host of fixes, but nothing works.  Please help...

Connect to HDTV with mini DVI to HDMI adapter or cable should work.

  • How do I get idvd to work. It is now not supported on my Mac. OS 10.9.5

I have not used my idvd for anything but, playing dvds. It's been a while for that too. I just tried to play a disc, already in the slot, and the msg comes up that idvd6  is no longer supported. I am running 10.9.5 Any ideas??

iDVD is not for playback of DVDs, but for creating a video DVD from an iMovie file. For playback you use DVD Player or VLC.
iDVD7 works with all versions of OS X.
Why is there no iDVD on my new Mac? How do I get it and how do I install it?

  • Lightning to 30-pin Adapter IPod Out Not Supported?

I like many people on a speaker dock and to put it bluntly it wasn't cheap. I can't see myself getting any money for it and it's probably not even a year old (though manufactured in 2010). Anyway I was hoping while not cheap itself the adapter would allow the iPhone 5 I plan to buy to function with this dock but the terms iPod out seems to refe to audio so am I correct in assuming they won't be compatible?

The ipod out feature is where the phone renders a video of the music library to be shown on an external display like the navigation screen of your car.
Since there is no video output on the adapter this feature fails.  It's all about VIDEO not being supported.
A simple dock that needs audio will work fine.  The adapter will work for any application that doesn't involve video output from the iphone.
Ipod out compatible car kits and home theatre integration is extremely rare.  Very few devices implement it.  Those that do may still function for audio output and charging the phone but you will not see anything on the screen anymore.

  • Retina, 15-inch, Late 2013 HDMI do not support 1680x1050

    Hi all
I recently bought a new - Retina, 15-inch, Late 2013 CTO Macbook pro (the top).
I want to use my old Samsung SyncMaster 2032MW as external monitor using HDMI cable.
The problem is that i'm not able to select the correct resolution (1680x1050) so the quality is awfull.
I've tried to click on Scaled in display preference while holding down option but amog the resolution, 1680x150 do not appear (there is 1600x900) but looks awfull!
Using a VGA-to-minidsplayport with the same monitor, the problem disappear, Maveriks correctly select the resolution.
How can i force to use the same resolution for HDMI?
    Thanks
    Fabio

    Hi clinton,
SwithcResX didn't solved my problem. The corret resolution of 1680x1050 appears in the list but the monitor TV seems to not accept it. Only by means of VGA adapter everything works as expected
Hmm - so much for that, then. I'm afraid that you're simply going to have to use one of your Thunderbolt ports for the present - unless someone else can jump in here and offer a real solution.
    Sorry,
    Clinton
