30 pin vga adapter

just bought a 3rd generation iPad running iOs 6.1.2. i purchased the vga adapter so i could continue to run ppt for my class without lugging around a laptop. however, i cannot get the adapter to work. i've tried many suggestions as far as unplugging/replugging it in and refreshing the source input. Still nothing. Is it true that ios 6 doesn't support vga when apple's sti

How are you viewing the PPT? The dock video output is not a generic feature in iOS.  Rather, individual applications must support it, and many don't.  For example, the video app does, but (I've learned), the Xfinity app doesn't.
Test it with the video app to see if it works at all, then start investigating PPT viewers to find one that will work.

  • Help: Homemade 20-pin to 15-pin VGA connector,  aligning CD lens

Hello. I'd like to revive my iMac 350 with an external monitor. Does anyone know user-friendly guide to build a homemade 20-pin to 15-pin VGA connector? Thanks.
Also, when I forced a CD that seemed to be too thick for the slot loading drive, the lens might have misaligned. I've opened it and the lens did not seem to be scratched or anytime. Does anyone have a DIY guide on how to align laser lens on this slot loading CD drive?

  • 24 pin DVI-D to Mini VGA adapter for external monitor

So I am about to buy a 20" Dell lcd monitor and I found out I need an adapter to the ibooks mini DVI port, can anyone direct me towards a 24 pin DVI-D to mini VGA so I can connect this monitor to my 12" ibook?
    Thank You

The iBook does not have a mini-DVD port. The iBook has a mini-VGA port.
The mini-VGA to VGA adapter is the Apple VGA Display Adapter M8639G/A.

  • Using mini-DVI to VGA adapter to Samsung display

I have 2009 late model of mac mini, The text on display looks washed out, not clear or sharp at all from day one, I thought it was the old model of monitor, tried the same cable to another monitor on another computer, SAME. so I thought the problem could be the cable or adapter.
It's hard for me to believe is the signal from computer. I'm using VGA adapter made by Dynex bought from Best Buy.
    Anybody has suggestions?? Thanks

Yeah, My old Samsung is lcd synmaster 17", bought many years ago at around $1000. Crazy, crazy price looked back. It's fine when I used it on the retired old Dell. It must be the adapter, trying not to buy another VGA adapter, could not image my next lcd will use one, anyway.
This cable has only 14 pins vs 15 pins on the other cable, not sure if it matters?? Or if Safari has anything to do with it??
    Thank for you reply...

  • Mini-DVI to VGA or Mini DisplayPort to VGA Adapter?

    Hi There,
I am so close to purchasing a new Mac Mini that I can almost taste it. When I finally get the Mini, I want to hit the ground running, so I am trying to research everything out so I do have any stupid delays.
With the Mini, I want to use my 17" Apple CRT Studio Display with its 15-pin miniature D-type connector (I'm assuming that this is the typical VGA display connector). When I first started looking into the Mini, I figured that I could use a Mini-DVI to VGA connector and just be done with it. When I looked at the Mac Mini Accessories page that Apple set up, however, Apple says that I need a Mini Display Port to VGA adaptor and doesn't say boo about the Mini DVI adaptor. Doing some cursory Googling lead me to believe that the most current MacBooks and Minis will not support Mini DVI to VGA adaptors. Is this true?
If you were me, if either adaptor can be used, which VGA adaptor would you use? Is one superior over another? Inquiring minds want to know.
Thank you very much in advance for your reply.
    Sincerely,
    Malcolm Fuller

Personally, I'm using a minidisplayport to vga adapter I had to pay $30 for and it's working great for me and I can't tell the difference in image quality from the minidvi to dvi cable that comes with the mini.
Also, why not get the displayport so you can run 2 monitors at once?
If the displayport doesn't work with your monitor then I would try the mini-dvi version.
But yeah don't be suprised if you have to mess with it to make it work since it seems to work for some like me and not for others:

  • Problem with Mini DisplyPort to VGA adapter

I recently got a new Mac Pro quad core and hooked it up to my existing Cinema Display (primary) and Sony VGA monitor (secondary). The cinema display is connected to the DVI port and the Sony is connected to the mini displayport with a mini displayport to VGA adapter.
It all works great until the computer goes to sleep. When I wake it from sleep the cinema display is fine, but the second monitor won't come back up unless I unplug it from the mini displayport and reconnect.
Any ideas how I can fix this?

You are using an ACTIVE (powered conversion from Mini DisplayPort, and are having trouble with it.
Your card generates VGA directly, at the proper Voltage levels, and it may be more reliable that the method you are using now.
The VGA signals are on the bar at the end and one pin from the top row of the grid. I suggest you buy a DVI-to-VGA adapter and use it instead of the converter you are using now.

  • PA3927U-1PRP Dynadock U3.0 DVI to VGA adapter problem

The adapter does not fit and causes damage to both the dock and the adapter when connected. I purchased one from a very reputable re-seller's website. after attaching the adapter I plugged in my VGA monitor and there was no picture. When I disconnected the adapter, I saw that DVI port on the dock was damaged, and the pins on the adapter were slightly bent. There was a little resistance when I pushed it on, but I thought it was just a nice tight fit. I returned the dock to the reseller, and received a new one. When I try to use the adapter, once again it does not go on easily, so I did not force it. I have a couple of DVI to HDMI adapters that go on smoothly and cause no problems. But I need to connect this dock to a VGA monitor. This is the main reason I bought the Dynadock, because it came with a DVI to VGA adapter. I don't want to keep returning it until I get one that works, and I don't think I should have to spend extra money to buy an adapter that works when one should be supplied. Please advise what I should do. Chris

  • Does Mini DisplayPort to VGA adapter support DDC/CI?

    I have a Mac Pro and a MacBook5,1.
Mac Pro is attached to a BenQ monitor which supports DDC/CI communication.
With a capable software I'm able to set brightness and contrast of the monitor without using monitor's OSD (thanks to DDC/CI communication).
If I attach the same monitor to my MacBook5,1 with VGA cable through a Mini DisplayPort to VGA adapter, DDC/CI stops working.
I'm no more able to set brightness and contrast and the app reports that monitor isn't DDC/CI capable.
I'm sure its not an issue related to the app that I'm using to set brightness and contrast. It detects correctly both of the monitor (the internal and the external one) and I'm sure that I'm sending DDC/CI commands to the external monitor and not to the internal one.
So, does Mini DisplayPort to VGA adapter support DDC/CI, and therefore passthrough its signal?
Or is it a problem of MacBook and its Mini DisplayPort which does not support DDC/CI at all? I don't think so.
I hope you can help me.
    Regards
    Andrea

No. Unlike DVI, which in the DVI-I configuration has both digital and analog pinouts, DisplayPort (and mini-DisplayPort) are purely digital. Mini-DP to DVI then DVI to VGA will not work. If you look carefully at the Apple Mini-DisplayPort to DVI adapter, you'll notice it's a DVI-D connector - digital pins only.
The Apple mini-DisplayPort to VGA adapter contains a digital-to-analog converter.
So, you'll have to choose. If you want VGA, get Apple's mini-DisplayPort to VGA adapter.

  • Lightning to VGA Adapter not working with certain apps

I've recently noticed that I can't watch movies on Netlix any more with my Lightning to VGA Adapter going to an LCD monitor.  It works just fine with other apps just not Netflix.  Apple says it is a Netflix app problem, and Netlix doesn't want to admit it's anything wrong with their app.  Any one else have this problem?  Is there a solution?

Will there be an update for this issue? Did you have the same problem?

  • DVI to VGA adapter Isn't it too short

I bought a MB Pro and I wanted to use the DVI to VGA adapter but it's too short, is there a longer one or is this it?

Maybe http://www.microcenter.com/singleproduct_results.phtml?productid=0201448 if you need a male-to-female. In other words, that product should work if the port on the TV has pins sticking out. If it has holes that pins should be stuck into, then http://www.microcenter.com/singleproduct_results.phtml?productid=0201735 is a male-to-male. Make sure you double check the photos against your adapter and your TV before you buy. Also try your local electronics or computer store.

  • G4 fw800 dvi to VGA adapter

    Hi
I've just passed my G4 fw800 to a friend but I can't find the DVI to VGA adapter.
Can anyone remind me which version of DVI I need. DVI-I or DVI-D? The graphics/video card is the original card that came with the G4.
Any help would be gratefully received.

A standard DVI port has all the required VGA signals present.
They use the larger minus sign at one end of the connector, along with the four pins around it, plus Vertical Sync (which is also used by the Digital Signal) to create the five signals needed for VGA. No conversion is performed, and there are no active components in the adapter.
The earliest G4s (not yours) shipped with a DVD-D (Digital-only) port, which often was visually distinctive in that it lacked the minus-shaped pin and the four pins around it. That one cannot be used for VGA because the signals were not provided at the DVI connector.

Connecting an external TFT display (Nokia 500 Xa) to my MacBook's mini dvi port with a mini dvi to vga adapter, there's no video.
Any ideas about what might cause this? the monitor is a bit old, but VGA should still be the same, eh?
I thought maybe it's the adapter's pin configuration... What exactly does the adapter let through?
    Grateful for any ideas.
