3000 K: Using S-Video Input

I been trying to get Media Center to work with the S-Video Input ( but Im using the cable that changes it in composite that came with the PC )  but when I actually get it to work it shows in black and white. Why is this happening? How can I fix this? And is downloading any other program can fix it, if so which one?

Hi
If you connect the notebook to TV using s-video cable then you have to choose TV icon (and not external monitor) using the key combination FN + F5.
>What options do i have to get a s-video in and HDMI out on my machine, i only got s-video and VGA out.
This is not possible you cannot convert the analog signal in digital signal (s-video= analog; HDMi=digital) this is no possible.
You can convert digital into analog but not analog to digital.
You can try to use an VGA to HDMI converter. Google for that!

  • Video Input on set top

    How can I use the video input on the HD set tops? How about the USB?
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    The short anwer is you cannot use either video inputs or the USB port on the STB or a DVR..
     The only part of the USB port that is functional is the DC power. The inputs (and USB port)  other than the Coax Cable are not supported by firmware, and as a result, are completely non-functional. As of IMG 1.9 the e-SATA port on the 7216 and 7232  DVR's is functional, and can support an external HDD for more capacity. Prior to IMG 1.9, the e-SATA port was non-functional.

  • IP/TV3425 Compsite input and S-Video input issue???!!!

    When using composite video input,the client of IP/TV Viewer can only get the black and white video.
    My configuration is the same to the old IPTV/3425,which is the right for video broadcast(colour video).
    But,if using s-video interface for video input,ip/tv client viewer get colour video broadcast
    Thanks a lot for your help!

    Only one video input can be active at a time. You cannot use a composite video source and an S-video source simultaneously.
    Try changing the video cable used for composite video.

  • HP Touchsmart s video input

    I have a IQ826t HP Touchsmart (about 4-5 years old now) and I just got re-interested in a problem I had when I just got the computer. I know for a fact that my computer has an S-Video input. All I want to do is plug in a machine so that the screen will display the S-Video input. At the time, the HP Support told me to set up a box top from the S-Video to trick the computer into thinking that the input was a tv signal (rather than a gaming system like an Xbox). Is there something available now that will display what I plug into the S-Video input?
    I'm hoping that after this many years, HP has been able to solve this issue and can give me a solution to this problem.
    Let me know if you need any other information.

    Hello sagarp93,
    You want to use the video input on the computer.
    I looked up your service manual and it shows the S-video to be for input, but it reads as though you need a TV tuner to use the port.
    On the monitor there should be a button to change the source to S-video input.
    It might be that there is a problem with the port, because there are no settings that need to be changed.
    Let me know how everything goes.

  • How do I make use of the Composite Video input jack on my HP pavilion Elite m9150f computer?

    I have a Pavilion Elite m9150f computer that has front panel jacks labeled "Composite Video Input,and Audio left and Audio right input" They are all RCA type.None of the PDF type manual files mention these jacks.I would like to make use of them to input video from either my old VCR that has the same output jacks and or a DVD player that is also equipped with the same set of output jacks.Finaly, I would like to know what programs should I use to view the video that I connect to these input jacks? Thanks for any and all ideas.

    If your m9150f still has Cyberlink DVD Suite Deluxe and the Hauppauge TV tuner installed, then you can use Cyberlink PowerDirector v6 to capture home videos from a VCR as MPEG2 movie clips (.mpg). The files can then be played using Windows Media Player or burned to disc using Windows DVD Maker. You can also edit the movie clips with PowerDirector or other video-editing software. MPEG2 video is not ideal for editing: there will be some loss of picture quality when the video is re-encoded. To minimize that, make your edited videos short and do not reduce the bit rate. Note: The jack on the back of the m9150f is Video Composite-01, the one on the front is -02. Be sure to select the right capture source in PowerDirector's Capture / Device Setup / Video Setup tab. I can't think of any good reason to use Composite jacks for DVD input as long as your m9150f has a functioning DVD drive.

  • Is it possible for a mac to recognise a camcorder as a video input without using imovie/final cut?

    Is it possible for a mac to recognise a camcorder as a video input without using imovie/final cut, I use web based video capture software and need an HD input that the mac would recognise as if it were a webcam?
    Any help would be greatly appreciated!
    Thanks

    HI,
    I used to use an analogue Camcorder and a DV converter that had Firewire output at one stage when starting out in iChat.

  • Using iPhone 4 as video input for iMovie

    Hey everyone,
    I've been wondering if it is possible to set up an iPhone 4 as the video input source for iMovie 11 so I can see on the Mac's screen what I'm pointing to iPhone at; to make sure it is in focus, etc. I know it's possible to set up other video cameras but I don't seem to be able to get the iPhone to work this way.
    Is it possible, or am I on to a loser here?

    Not possible. iMovie does not import from iPhone in real time. It will most likely be faster than real time based on how fast your Mac is.
    If you have a USB web cam or a FireWire tape DV cam, you may be able to do this. Thes importn in real time.

  • How to connect Apple TV (2g) HDMI to HDTV with only component video input.

    Trying to connect Apple TV (2g) HDMI to HDTV with only component video input.  Can I use a simple cable or do I need a converter box/plug? Is the HDMI signal coming from ATV encrypted or HDCP enabled?
    The TV is HD, but only has a component input and not HDMI.  Apple TV 2g only has HDMI output.

    google component hdmi converter
    but they are pretty expensive and may not work at all
    and will not work with any DRM material as in movies you reant and maybe netflix and the sports thingy

  • How can I connect my iPad to a TV that only has an s-video input available but also has a usb port on the satellite box available.

    I would like to connect my iPad to my older TV but the only inputs available are the s-video input port on the TV itself and there is also a USB input port on the satellite box that feeds the TV. I could also split all the RCA jacks to accomodate another input here. Thanks in advance for any and all help with this problem of mine..............RR.

    There is no s-video cable available for any iPad.
    The USB port on the cable box is for maintenance use only.
    There are RCA cables available:

  • Please help! Not able to set Video input Port(S-Video or Composite)on Linux

    Hi
    I am using JMF2.1.1e(Linux performance pack) for video capturing on Linux OS. I want to set video input port(S-Video or composite) through my application. I am using the following code:
         if ( dataSource != null )
              arrControls = dataSource.getControls ();
         if ( arrControls != null )
              nCount = arrControls.length;
         System.out.println("No. of Controls: " + nCount);
         for ( i = 0; i < nCount; i++ )
              if ( arrControls[i] == null )
                   continue;
              if ( !(arrControls[i] instanceof Control) )
                   continue;
              componentControl = ((Control)arrControls).getControlComponent ();
              System.out.println("ComponentControl : " + componentControl);
              if ( componentControl == null )
                   continue;
    But, i am getting No. of Controls: 0 (Zero). So i am not able to get any control component also. Rest of the application is working fine. Please help me solving this problem.
    Thanks in advance.

    To go a stage further.
    Google run a Jabber server for their service.
    Jabber apps (those that can) use a Protocol called Jingle to make the A/V connections.
    Google's version is not even that compatible with other Jabber apps. (See Here)
    The Plug-in in the Google Install (Or the Standalone Web Browser Plug-in allow Browsers to access the GoogleTalk A/V side as does the Standalone PC app called GoogleTalk as well.
    iChat uses a process called SIP (Session Initiation Protocol) to connect to other iChat Users or to the AIM for PC app.
    However this also works in any iChat to iChat Connection no matter if the Buddy List is an AIM Login based one, Jabber (including GoogleTalk) or A LAN based Bonjour Chat.
    In you care this is not going to work.
    Getting the Standalone (Intel only) Browser Plug-in and using the Chat option in the Google Mail Web page is probably the easiest option.

  • Vox S-Video input is black and white

    After a few issues, my Vox is up and running. The picture quality is disappointing on the TV broadcasts but of more issue for me is a problem with the S-Video input.
    The main reason I bought this was to capture old videos and transfer them to DVD. I have a scart lead attached to the back of the VCR with S-Video, Composite Video and Audio phono plugs on the other end. Using the composite video phono plug the picture is fine and I can capture the video. If I swap to use the S-Video plug (my preference as the quality should be better) it comes through in black and white. However, if I plug the S-Video and audio phonos into a television, the picture is fine.
    Has anyone experienced this or have any ideas what might be wrong?
    Thanks,
    Andrew.

    Hi Andrew.  I have the same problem.  Have you found a way round the problem?
