3000 K100 Always boots into Onekey Recovery

I have a 3000 k100.  At one point I told the windows software to make a Onekey Backup.  The comptuer rebooted and started running the "Onekey Recovery" software.  However it hangs and never finishes.  Everytime I shutdown and reboot it goes into the "Onekey Recovery".    It starts no matter what bottable medium i have in the computer (boot cd, usb).
If I mess with the bios settings and cause a bios error on startup,  the computer will boot normally into windows.
Is there someway to remove this system level Recovery Software,  or remove its override on the boot sequence.

As far as I can tell you is that you need to DO the one key recovery because if you don't and re-boot you risk the chance of screwing a few sectors that contain the recovery info on it. That hidden Partition is the area where all the software is at and NOT on the recovery CD.
Let the computer finish the recovery and then you can continue on to a normal windows OS. If it does not finish it will recycle it self till it does.
As far as I can tell.
Hope that helps.

  • Mac OS X v10.7 Lion always boot into safe boot after upgrade?

I have recently upgraded my OS from snow leopard to lion and the upgrade process was smooth and no problems encountered.
I am also running boot camp with windows XP installed in the same iMac.
After the upgrade, my iMac almost always boot into safe mode whenever I switch it on and I need to restart it again and it will then return to its normal mode.
I wonder anyone encounter the same problem and if so, please give me a hand to solve it.
    Thank you very much!

Same problem here with my 2011 21" iMac that I purchased in mid July.
I have a wireless keyboard, trackpad and mouse. When I power everything off and turn off the power strip then later turn on the computer it boots into Safe Mode.
Also, the Wi-Fi (formerly Airport) icon in the menubar is just the empty outline and clicking on it gives me the message "Wi-Fi: No hardware installed". Rebooting fixes this.
I spent an hour on the phone with an Applecare manager who had me run Disk Utility repair after booting into the recovery partition. Disk Utility found some disk errors, which I thought was strange for a new computer, and repaired them.
    The problem still exists though.

  • Solaris 8 always boots into DCA

    Dears,
I am having trouble on a Solaris 8 installation: the system is always booting into the DCA after installation, I have neither the floppy nor the CD rom inside the tray.
Some tips I have seen around suggested to select F4 and get into "Boot Tasks" to select the default boot device. The problem here is that F4 does not leads to "Boot Tasks" but to "Add Driver".
    Any tips?
Thanks in advance for your help.

After you've booted and Solaris is up, run "/usr/sbin/eeprom bootpath"
to see if the boot device was successfully written to its persistent
location in /boot/solaris/bootenv.rc You should see something like:
    $ eeprom bootpath
    bootpath=/isa/ata@1,1f0/cmdk@0,0:a
I ran into a situation where I'd set this during the boot, but it wasn't
persitently stored in the bootenv.rc file. Putting it in manually fixed
    the problem.

  • R60 always boots into Rescue and Recovery instead into Win XP

    Hello all,
I intended to write a backup via Thinkvantage R&R, startet from the boot menue. This fails as no target could be selected to save the backup.
After I talked to a colleague of mine, who told me to use R&R out of Windows (this way he made the initial backup) I reboot the machine via the button reboot in the top right corner. The machine rebootet but instead to start Windows Thinkvantage R&R was started again. No matter what I do, if I choose to boot from HDD Thinkvantage R&R will be started (if I choose to boot from USB od CD the system on the stick or CD will start).
I can repeat this ad infinitum, there will always start Thinkvantage R&R. I even tried to revert back to the initial backup -- to no avail
Maybe someone can tell me how to stop this circle.
    Thank you in advance.

    Solved!

    Hi,
sorry for this late response but I didn't test this earlier.
Thank you for the tip, this was the first step to solve this issue. After I changed the boot flag I was able to boot XP -- but only once. So I changed the boot flag again and I saw a notice about an unsuccessful and now pending backup job (this time I watched XP's boot process more closely . After I aborted the pending job I'm now able to boot into XP and R&R as I wish.
Thank you all for all your help.

  • Problems booting into windows7 recovery partition

Hi, i have this new presario cq56-110sa, wins7 home premium bought some months back.
i installed wins vista deleting the wins 7 partition but the recovery partition is still intact.
now i intend recovering wins7 using the sys recovery partition without success.
upon pressing f11 and showing me booting to recovery partition, the system ended booting into vista .
    pleaase help, thanks

hi, can i ask a few questions?
    1) How did you install your Vista OS? that's a retail version right?
    2) how did you know that the Windows 7 OS is the one still the partition? Coz if it recovered back to vista that means vista is the one on the recovery partition
    3) where you able to create RCD's when you were still running Windows 7?

  • Leopard always boots into Safe Boot

Every time I restart Leopard it boots into "Safe Boot" mode. To get it to boot into regular mode I have to keep hitting "x" after the startup sound while booting.
I read that Leopard shouldn't boot into safe mode unless I hold down the shift key when starting up. My shift key isn't stuck down (I wouldn't be able to type this message in lower case if it were). But Leopard insists on booting into safe mode by default.
I applied the latest updates just this morning. So everything is up to date.
What can I do to get Leopard to boot by default into normal mode again?

Maybe I need more specifics. I clicked on the Apple menu in the topbar and clicked Restart. I then clicked Continue when prompted to restart immediately. I then held down the Command, Option, R and P keys. While holding down the keys I heard the startup chime once (not twice) and my computer started normally.
I'm wondering if I did the right thing since I didn't hear the second startup chime.
    Did I miss something?
Thanks so much for your help.

  • I get a blue screen when I try to boot into the recovery mode

My computer froze and refuses to boot. When I try to boot from a recovery partition (both on the main hard drive and an installer on on an external hard drive) the screen turns blue (sometimes with vertical stripes). Any suggestions as to what's causing this. It will be another week before I can go to a Genius Bar.

  • Pavillion g6 only boots into HP Recovery partition and won't save files

A student showed me her Pavillion g6 running 7 and said it was broken. On booting up up it goes right past the press esc prompt to a blinking cursor in the upper left corner. I hoped to  access the drive by booting from rescue cd's (linux etc.) with the same result (yes, they are near the top of the boot order).  So, I decide to rescue her files using the HP recovery manager and everything seems to work fine until it asks me to store the results on my USB device that it detected ... but the next button is inactive.
I notice that I can access files using the DOS prompt option - maybe that is a solution to saving her files [actually it is working now] but can I rescue the system.

    Hey jbol,
    Did you try
    Turn notebook off
Hold ESC and keep holding it
Press Power button to turn on like normal
Hold ESC until you see the Start Up Menu
You can change the amount of time it pauses at the start up options screen in msconfig.exe (Boot Tab > Timeout time), but if you can't load Windows  at the moment, that may not help much.
Also in addition to holding ESC, you could try holding either F9 - Boot Options, F10 - BIOS or F11 - Recovery Manager.
Hope these suggestions help! Let me know if you have any questions

  • Canvio 500GB drive won't boot into system recovery

    First a little background:
Computer is a Dell desktop PC running Windows XP SP3.
Portable 500GB USB drive is a Canvio model HDTC605XK3A1.
"NTI Backup Now EZ" has been used  to do a weekly backup for almost a year.
The PC recently started running very slow so I decide to restore a full system backup from two months prior. To do a system restore you have to boot from the Canvio drive into Linux and do a full system restore.
Everything started fine but during the restore the process crashed. Now the PC won't boot on it's own drive or the Canvio. I then plug the Canvio drive into my laptop and the drive is not recognized. I manage to repair the partition table and the drive is now recognized but will not boot. I get a message stating "BOOTMGR is missing".
I can retrieve all the photos and documents from the drive, but there is genealogy software on the computer and the data files only get saved to the drive image files. You can not retrieve individual files from the drive image. You have to do a full system restore using NTI Backup.
The big question is how do I make the Canvio bootable again? Or, is there an ISO available to burn to a CD?

I managed to get the drive to boot by using Grub4DOS. Most of the incremental images seemed to be corrupt, so I had to go back almost a year.

  • Why is my mac always booting into Mac OSX Utilities?

Then I have to restart and then it boots normally.
    thanks

I checked. Yes, Resume will cause Disk Utility to start upon restart under the condition I mention above. if you don't want windows open when shutting down to reopen upon restart, then uncheck the "Reopen windows when logging back in" box that appears after you chose to shut down.

  • Yoga 13 Original Factory Image OneKey Recovery

    Hello,
I have a Yoga 13 that I have modified quite a bit. I have repartitioned the drive, installed a clean version of windows and deleted the recovery image. I may have to send it in for repair (I am begininng to recieve phantom touch screen issues) and I want to bring everything back to 100% full factory settings.
I am still able to boot into onekey recovery, but it cannot find the original factory image (which makes sense). My question is two-fold:
    1. Does anyone have a clean recovery file that I could use on my own computer to restore everything to factory settings? I am assuming that I can use another Yoga's image to do so.
    2. If I am able to restore everything will it go so far as to repartition my main drive and get rid of any boot record changes I made? (These were done when I was dual-booting linux).
Thank you in advance for your help; Hopefully I am not totally mistaken in my reasoning/hopes/dreams.

    Hello all -
There are a few other threads on this topic with an abysmal response rate and very little useful help. I am going to post on this one more time in hopes that there is actually some kind of manual instructions that I could follow that would help ensure that my computer is not now permanently crippled. My story:
    * Had one of the old Yoga's with the bad partition structure, and thus ran out of room on C:
    * Ran the hotfix - it took 2 hours instead of 10 minutes and was completely stalled out so I killed it
    * Tried to run a second time, and the partition structure had already been altered
    * I ended up with a new, resized D: drive, another random unnamed drive, and a bunch of unallocated space
    * After $30 for a third party application, I was able to allocate the unused space to C:
I believe that the process stopped before all relevant files could be transfered to the right partitions.
Incedentally, now when I boot, I get an alert that the Intel Smart Start-up doesn't work
OKR doesn't work - just the the error that the system can't do a back-up
Does anyone have a clue where are the files are supposed to end up after the Hotfix so I can get them to where they need to be to get all of this working again.
Would really appreciate all help. M.

  • Mountain Lion only boots into Recovery mode after using iCould lock

    Hi everyone!
I have searched the forums for hours now, but I can't seen to find an answer to my question, so I'd like to ask it.
Recently my system partition failed due to frequent kernel panics caused by a cable in the screen I think. The kernel panics still occur, but I don't know what to do with them.
I managed to save my files and reinstall my osx, which is Snow Leopard (the disc came with the computer). Then I wanted to install my purchased copy of Lion through Appstore, but it said it's no longer available in my country and I couldn't download it again.
Then I decided to buy a copy of Mountain Lion which I tried to install. I managed to do it, and I tried to explore my new operation system.
I tried the iCloud app as well, including the Lock. It locked the computer, and rebooted, but ever since I couldn't unlock it.
When it asks for the password I enter it and it accepts it, but doesn't unlock, only lets me into Recovery mode. Now I reinstalled the whole thing over again and when the Mountain Lion install finishes, it only boots into the Recovery HD without asking.
So if I reboot my computer, no matter what I do it only boots into Recovery Mode.
    Please help!!
    Mike

I was afraid the Apple Store wasn't going to be an option.
Based on your previous post, I was under the impression you could download Mountain Lion, but when you installed it, it locked up again. Not true?
I don't know how to remove it. You can try contacting Apple support through the link below to see if they can help you get this unlocked.

The articles discuss where kernal panic reports are filed. After you have a kernal panic, copy the report and post it here. Please copy and paste rather than using a screen shot. There are several people who can read them and they can suggest what to do next. Reading kernal panic reports isn't something I've totally figured out yet.

  • Unable to reformat my boot partition when booted into recovery

I need to reformat my Mac OS X partition for a clean install and when I boot into the recovery partition to do so I am unable to erase the partition.  Some times in disk utility it shows as greyed out (unmounted) and will not allow me to mount.  Then other times it will show mounted and I will be unable to unmount and erase.  Any body dealt with this before.  Help is much appreciated.
    J

    Hi,
So I tried to reformat with the SL disk in and I was given the error.  This operation requires an umounted disk.  Now the Disk is mounted but the Mac OS X partition that I want to erase is mounted I think.  Is the way around that to unmount the entire disk and then try erase the partiton?  I have a Bootcamp partition with a lot of university work and programming programs etc so I would really like to avoid an entire disk reformat.
    Thanks again,
    J
