I've spent my entire evening trying to recover my iphone 4S. I installed all the latest patches to MS Windows XP earlier in the evening, and then ran the update for iTunes. It failed part way through with the 3014 error.
I shut down my firewall to ensure that wasn't the problem.
Turned off my anti-virus software to ensure that wasn't getting in the way.
I uninstalled iTunes, and reInstalled.
I still getting the same error.
I now have a useless iphone with no OS on it unless someone can help me get past this error. I am so frustrated by this it isn't funny. any assistance would be appreciated.

Qosmio X300 - Can't write disk after firmware update

I have a serious proble. After a firmware-update for my pioneer dvd-drive I can't write anything anymore on disks.
I really need some help there

I just received my new drive and installed it on my Qosmio x300 13E.
It is a LG GBW-T10N drive and it works perfectly. The included software allows me in combination with the newest driver for the nvidia gforce x9800 graphic controller to upscale films to a full HD resolution.
It is absolutely amazing. I just had to try it with a normal dvd and I had a full HD entertainment on my flat screen tv.
The replacement of the broken drive was easy. You simply need to loosen one screw on the bottom of the notebook and then you simply pill it out.
If anyone wants to do it too, I can give accurate advice for it.

Can I restore Gamecenter after an update?

I updated one of my children's ipods to version 5.1. When we restored from backup, all the apps came back with her progress still in the app. However, Gamecenter wouldn't allow her to enter her user name. It says her user name is already taken. When she enters a new one, she can't gain access to her games or progress that she had before. Is it possible to restore Gamecenter and her progress? There are some apps (Dragonvale) that she plays through Gamecenter, that she has spent money on in-app purchases. She is devastated that she has to start from the beginning again. Can someone help???

E71 Backup/Restore problem after firmware update

after i restore the data using the PC suite, I'm facing a connectivity problem, No MMS and web browsing are working, even after i re-install the settings from the provider and setup wizard, same thing, even the wireless connectivity is not working.
note that they are working be4 i do the restore (plain phone).

I upgraded my firmware (why do nokia call it 'software'?), which i kind of regret now. I don't see any difference to my phone, plus i hit a major problem.
Before upgrading i backed-up my phone.
After upgrading firmware i tried to restore the backup to my phone - wouldn't work!?!?!?!?! - plus the phone said that i had a massive error and had to take my phone back to retailer. it would not restart.

FIX:
'Hard-reset' the phone (erases memory and takes you back to basic nokia phone software) - While turning the phone on you hold down 3 buttons: " green-phone & 3 & * ". Hold down for about 10 sec's. The phone should start working again with the new firmware - albeit with only basic settings.
Go to the backup-restore, and restore from your last backup.
HOWEVER, UNTICK 'phone settings'.
This should get almost everything back for you (calendar,contacts,etc), except for any software that you had previously downloaded and installed on your phone (e.g. google maps, fring, skype, youtube, etc). Easy enough to download & install again. Also, you might want to ring your phone company and get them to mms you the configuration settings for internet and mms again.
WHY WAS THERE A PROBLEM? I believe that the old settings of the previous firmware are NOT compatible with the new firmware. This makes the phone effectively stop working when you restore the backup.

1. Update iTunes - latest version is 10.4.1.
2. Disable ALL security apps (firewall, antivirus/spyware) running on your computer.
3. Don't try to downgrade the iOS version. This isn't supported
4. If you EVER tried to hack thie phone or use apps like tinyumbrella, you may have to edit the hosts file on your computer to remove references to gs.apple.com
5. If your phone has been hacked (jailbroken, iOS downgrade, or unauthorized unlocking), you may not be able to restore the phone to Apple specs again.

If you receive this error, update to the latest version of iTunes. 3rd party security software or router security settings can also cause this issue, to resolve please follow Troubleshooting security software issues. Downgrading to a previous version of iOS is not supported. If you have installed software to perform unauthorized modifications to your iOS device, that software may have redirected connections to the update server (gs.apple.com) within the Hosts file. For steps to edit the Hosts file and allow iTunes to communicate with the update server, see iTunes: Troubleshooting iTunes Store on your computer, iPhone, iPad, or iPod; follow steps under the heading Blocked by configuration (Mac OS X / Windows) > Rebuild network information > The hosts file may also be blocking the iTunes Store. It's called "SelfControl". It can be a little hard to learn to use but it's worth the effort.

OK. Lets guess. From where? Are you trying to sync videos from iTunes on your computer? Download them from iTunes on the iPad?

Hi Anson/JimHdk,
I triple checked to makes sure my SSID and passwords are right.
I found the MAC Address filter is not turned on...
I don't think there's maximum number of connection for the router (I turned my 2 other devices on Airplane mode when checking) and it still didn't work.
I don't know how to durn off DHCP and use static IP address....
There's no firmware update available for my router as it's 8 years old....
My brother says I will need to get a new router.... hopefully that will work....
