3110 classic discards settings--HeeeeeeeeeeLLPPPPP...

3110 classic keeps giving the following error when i receive settings from my operator :-
ONLY 70 SETS ALLOWED. SETTINGS DISCARDED.
I've tried everything,but no progress. the last resort i opt to is just doing manual cofigurations of gprs and mms.
need help support teams....

I just upgraded my phone from Nokia 2100 to Nokia 3110 Classic (finally, yay.)
In my 2100 I had a couple of settings I used.
a) Setting to change the amount of time the phone lights up.
b) Setting to change how long the phone waits before going into standby mode.
Not sure if those are the same things, but my 3110c lights up for quite a while

Nokia 3110 Classic does not work with Peltor Bluet...

At work I must use a high quality hearing protection headset. I purchased a Peltor Bluetooth A2DP headset (which costs five times the price of the phone) and a Nokia 3110 Classic phone, which would have been a good phone if it had worked properly with the headset. The phone fails to initialize Bluetooth connection almost every time I switch the headset on. When the initialization goes right, then it usually works, but sometimes I can only use A2DP music or phone. Both cannot be used, the other function remains silent. Sometimes the music palyer software jams after bluetooth initialization so that I have to restart the phone and load factory settings. I have installed the most recent firmware to the phone.
The headset works OK with other Nokia models I have tried. Are there any new firmware updates coming which could solve these bluetooth problems?

I also bought a Peltor bluetooth headset. I used it with 2 different phones (n73 and n96) and had problems with the connection on both phones. For example every time I turned off the headset, I had to pair the devices again. I also have used several other bluetooth headsets with absolutey no problems. So I assumed the problem was on the Peltor headset and sent it for service. I hope it will start to work.

Opera Mini installing problem in 3110 classic.

I cannot able to install Opera Mini 4.2 in my Nokia 3110 classic mobile phone.
It displays Error message " Failed to connect to the internet. Go to http://www.operamini.com/help?version=4.2 with your desktop browser or contect service provider for Internet settings."

You should be able to download version 5. Choose the jar file.

3110 Classic TSL port setting

I have recently changed email server to a more secure one. This requires outgoing email port to be non-standard and with TSL security. Unfortunately my current phone does not support these settings, and I'm thinking about purchasing the 3110 Classic.
Does anyone know if the 3110 supports these settings?

I also asked the Vodafone customer care whether they have EDGE or not. She was not even aware of it and said its not available after thinking.
How could a very famous VODAFONE network which came inside india for a profitable business who dont even have EDGE along with their GPRS?
Also, there is no change in the sim card which HUTCH was selling before. For example. If i see the Access Point's then i can only see HUTCH ACCESS. There is no vodafone in the list.
Is VODAFONE in india only to get the profit and not here to serve people with high quality services?
I was once happy to hear VODAFONE came to india but now i dont feel the same happiness becas there is no change in the network speed, my frend's GPRS speed and their service quality is poor.
They only treat india as a market to sell the items which other country dont sell. And we indians are the most suffering on the hands of the european companies ruling in india.
Something that we must all start to think of.

hello i have a 3110 classic working fine untill a couple of days ago
i can send texts but have only recieved a couple and yet a lot have been sent to me
is it me or the phone?

have you enough memory in the phone ,its unlikely its the phone its more likely network are all your message settings correct?

3110 Classic display problem

Recently bought a 3110 Classic, Orange network. Worked perfectly well for the first few days. This morning I've turned it on and the display keeps blacking out every few seconds.
I've charged it fully, taken out battery and simcard and put them back, restarted a few times - it keeps doing it.
Does anyone have any knowledge of this problem? Help appreciated.

Can i use these themes with my 3110 classic

Hi, i use a free sit to download wallpapers, screensavers and themes.
Can i use themes for a Nokia 6085 with my 3110 classic as i think they use the same operating system or software and the screens are the same etc, thanx.

I know for a fact there is no Mac version of Act. You'd have to contact the authors of Centerpiece to see if they make a Mac version.
If not, then the answer to both is no.

NEED HELP!! Nokia 3110 Classic with Bluetooth Head...

I just brought my Nokia 3110 Classic & found problem when trying to use my Motorola Bluetooth Headset H500. I've tried to use I-Tech Clip II Mini and Nokia Bluetooth Headset HS-26W yet still facing the same problem.
The problem i'm facing is whenever i called out or received call, other parties can't hear clearly what i've said but i can hear them loud & clear. My friends who are brought Nokia 6300 & Nokia 3110 Classic, all are facing this problem!
I've used Samsung, Sony Ericsson & Motorola phones before Nokia. So far, not problem. A bit disapointed and lost confidence with Nokia products.
Is there any expects who can solve/advise/recommend/help on this problem?

I had the same problem and found this thread while trying to resolve the problem. I have a Nokia 3110 and a Jabra Bt250v headset. I think I have found a solution.....I downloaded a software update (called firmware) from the nokia website (had to back up phone using Nokia PC suite and then follow the instructions on the nokia software updates) and now have version 7 rather than 5 and it seems to be resolved.

Hi, I have a problem with my nokia 3110 classic phone. When I go to the themes sec it says themes corrupted. Also my phone switches off itself and all my messages , themes, wallpapers, tones, graphics, games, etc disappear...

Why don't you uninstall the Currupted themes... ? You may do so using the PC Suite or Applications manager..

Nokia 3110 Classic Alarm tone too low

I brought a Nokia 3110 Classic yesterday and found the alarm tone too low. Tried chaging the Tones, but all of them are too low. Not enough to wake up. can anyone suggest how to overcome this problem.

get a loud tone there is no volume level for this if your havin trouble i will post a good loud one most nokias now have incremental volume ie get louder the longer they ring but i have good loud one

Transfer data from 6210 to 3110 classic ?

Yes I know its pathetic.....but I finally convinced my old man to gove up his 6210 and buy a 3110 classic instead. Now he is swearing cause he cant firnd out a way to transfer his contacts, appointments etc. from the old to the new. (Apparantly transferring to the SIM card is not working....)
My suggestion was of course to backup the old into PC Suite (ver. 4.81) and then restore it into the new. (Using ver.6.85)
But I really do not know whether that is possible ??
Anyone has any ideas, tips or suggestions ?

I have the same problem; My 6210 was recently stolen, but I have an old backup of my contacts on my PC using version 4.81. These are all as .ncc files.
Now I have bought a 3110, but seem unable to load that data in to the phone as it only works with version 6.85, which has a new internal file format (SQLite?) and doesn't recognise the .ncc files.
I'm going to try, using version 4.81, to "Export" all the contacts in to "My PIM application" (which I don't have, I'll try Outlook Express which I've never used) and then fire up version 6.85 and try to "Import" them from there back in to the 3110... I'll let you know if I get anywhere!
We customers are just sooooooooo loyal - why won't Nokia reward us by making a *single* version of this software that works across *all* the models? New models and features could be handles dynamically, using plugins...

NOKIA 3110 CLASSIC DISPLAY

HI GUYS ..
i have got new nokia 3110 classic mobile yesterday.
i have noticed that the graphics or colour and camera resolution (which is 1.3 mega pixel) is of very bad quality.
nokia default wallpapers and themes looks cool but other additioanl images i added to set show bad bad colour and distorted resolution.
whats the reason behind this, i have visited many websites to get complete information about nokia 3110c before buying, and iT seems cool , having 1.3MP camera and good visual resolution...
but i am too disheatrted to see the bad graphics power of set...
plz guide me what can i do now....
is updating software can fix this problem ...

3110 classic, what's new in v5.01?

i see that there is a new firmware available for 3110 classic (not yet in scandinavian according to the software updater though). my question is: what's new in v.5.01? any changelog?

does this mean that this error is uncommon and that i should indeed upgrade?

hmmm. if you're currently running 5.0.0 with no problems, i don't see any overwhelming need to upgrade ... there aren't any new features as far as i can tell. it has been known to fix a few existing 5.0.0 problems. do you have anything going wrong at the moment? i may be able to advise if there's a track record of that being fixed by moving to 5.0.1.4. (feedback is still a bit sketchy on this, partly because people don't report problems being fixed as often as they report having problems.)
