Hi,
when i go to computer info in windows 8 it is showing that i have 32-bit OS, x64-based Processor. i am slightly confused. does this mean i have a 32 bit OS installed but my computer is compatible with 64 bit?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated

Re:update windows 7 Service Pack 1 for x64 based system (KB976932)
Hi, I tried to updte automatically and mannually : windows 7 Service Pack 1 (KB976932) for windows 7 x64 based system. However error 404, happened, no solution suggested I can find online. Could someone can help me?
Hi,
From your error message, error 404 generally means whenever someone asks for a page that’s simply not
available on your site. The reason for this is that there may be a link on your site that was wrong or the page
might have been recently removed from the site. As there is no web page to display, the web server sends a
page that simply says "404 Page not found".
Did you get this error when you download or install process?
Please disable your firewall and antivirus temporarily and then download the package from the following address:
Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2 Service Pack 1 (KB976932)
http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=5842
Note: make sure choose the proper version (x64) for your system.
After that, run this "Fix it" tool below and install the update again:

Upgrade ppc processor to a intell based processor?
I would like to upgrade my ppc g4 1ghz processor to an Intell based processor so I can run Ilife 08 (imovie 08) I also would like to be able to run boot camp, However I think I need to upgrade my processor. Any suggestions for what type? I have a g4 FW800 with a ppc g4 1ghz processor. NAy help would be greatly appreciated.
Welcome to Apple Discussions!
It appears the system requirements page can only be found by Google:
http://www.apple.com/ilife/systemrequirements.html
iMovie can take either an Intel processor or a G5 processor 1.9 Ghz iMac or dual 2 Ghz processor PowerMac.
The G5 can't be added to the PowerMac G4.
A Mac Mini Intel model can be had new for just $600.
If you want iMovie 8 compatibility, I think that might just be your cheapest option. Nice thing is, the Mac Mini ships with iMovie out of the box.
You might be able to find a used or refurbished G5 iMac for less, but you have to watch out for the things on my FAQ*:

After reading all the other posts I tried installing the (64 bit for older video cards) and it did not solve my choppy playback with Music or Movies. I am running windows 8.1, Intel i7-4500U CPU @ 1.8GHz, 8 GB RAM, 64-bit OS, x64 based processor, DELL Inspirion 15. Never had problems until upgrading to 8.1 from 8.0.
Did you see if changing the Play Audio Using select in Edit > Preferences > Playback to "Direct Sound" resolves the issue? Otherwise you may want to consider rolling back to 12.0 and waiting until a future release is shown to resolve the playback issues in 12.1. See Turingtest2's notes on Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates for steps needed to completely remove all installed iTunes components, and for links to the 12.0 installers.

How to Reinstall Elements 12? - after WIndows8 troubleshooting removed Elements 12
Windows 8.1 automatically installed a patch during shutdown yesterday. Afterwards, my system wouldn't boot up. I tried to boot up several times but the system froze very early in the boot sequence. Eventually I entered a troubleshooting mode where Windows offered to uninstall my apps and then attempt to boot up. I did this and my Elements 12 was de-installed.
I've been using Elements for many years. I have over 60,000 photos in my catalog and I have 20 or so albums and have spent a lot of time tagging my photos with keywords/stars. Needless to say, I am quiet interested in recovering my catalogs.
My photos are kept on a NAS drive.
I purchased Elements 12 over the net and installed it on my Windows 8.1 machine. The machine has 16 GB of RAM. Its a 64-bit OS, x64-based processor (Intel).
I manually ran \users\xyz\Desktop\Adobe Phtoshop ELements 12\PSE 12\setup.exe
Adobe Photoshop Elements 12 - Setup (Pop-up):
Setup.exe was not able to locate some components required for successful installation of the product. Please retry after making sure the complete set of files are available.
When I re-ran it I received a pop stating:
"Adobe Installer"
Installer failed to initialzie. This coulbe be due to a missing file. Please download Adobe Support Advisor to detect the problem.
How should I proceed?SisyphusWV wrote:
I accidently clicked on UNINSTALL ELEMENTS 12. How do I get it back?
by reinstalling it on that same machine. Have your serial number handy and you should be done with it. It is pretty obvious the more you look into it.
Good luck. -

Out of Memory with InDesign CC
I have a new computer (ASUS-Windows 8 (I hate it), Intel Core i7-4700HQ [email protected], 16 GB DDRS, 64-bit OS, x64-based processor, 1024 GB 5400 rpm Hard Drive, 256 GB Solid-State Drive). While working in InDesign CC on a 24 page newsletter, I get an "out of memory" popup that forces me to leave InDesign. I have done this newsletter for the past ten years, so the parameters have never changed. I've had no problems until using CC. I have a creative cloud membership (I love it). This also happened on my old computer. I'd done this same project on my old computer for three years using CS4 and CS6. When I downloaded CC, I got the "out of memory" popup. This prompted me to buy a new computer (which I figured it was time anyway). But now I have the same problem. I bought the best computer I could afford and I don't think I'm lacking in any area.
Any thoughts? There's something about that newsletter that is corrupt. Have you been using the same file for the last ten years? Or the same art, logos, etc.? You may want to trash it and rebuild from scratch, or at least export INX/IDML and reopen & resave.
My clients mostly ignored my advice to not open old INDDs in CC and resave, but instead to export INX or IDML and open that in CC. So I've seen quite a few buggy documents over the last two months.
I'm pretty sure that 100% of the "out of memory" errors I've encountered using InDesign since CS1 have boiled down to bugs or corrupt documents or memory leaks, not actual problems with the size of my publications and the amount of memory installed. -
How do I stop jerky video in timeline of premiere elements 12?
I have just purchased Adobe Premiere Elements 12 (this software is new to me but I have watched a couple of videos). My video clip is slow and jerky in the time line and yes, there is a yellow line through it and no, rendering does not help. The clip plays fine from the window. I do not want to return the software but it is no use to me the way it is. I have Windows 8 Pro, Intel pertium Dual CPO E2180 @ 2.00GHz with 3.00GB RAM, 32-bit OS, x64-based processor. I really need help.
GmaShack
I am not in a position to comment on the 64 bit processor in the 32 bit operating system. It probably is an advantage than a disadvantage, yet you still have a 32 bit operating system which is still limited by maximum supported installed RAM = 4 GB of which typically 3 GB of that are available. Is it at all possible for you to go all 64 bit, with Windows 7 or 8 64 bit operating system*? If so, you would gain a big advantage having Premiere Elements 12 as a 64 bit application running in the 64 bit operating system. But, even then you want to get the installed RAM to at least 4 to 8 GB.
But, for the here and now, check the motherboard to see how many RAM slots you have and how much it can accept in the way of RAM modules. If you stay with the 32 bit operating system, total 4 GB RAM installed. Or is that what you have now...that is...is your 3 GB RAM reported installed or available RAM? Do you have 4 GB RAM already installed?
What are the properties of our source media for your project...standard definition, standard or widescreen, or high definition 1280 x 720 or 1920 x 1080? What is the typical duration of the projects that you intend to create.
And could you clarify what you mean by
My video clip is slow and jerky in the time line and yes, there is a yellow line through it and no, rendering does not help. The clip plays fine from the window.
I would agree with Ann Bens, that your machine is underpowered for HD tasks. But, you might be able to handle short term HD projects as well as SD projects with tight control over resources, detouring scratch disks et al to an external hard drive for one aspect of the computer resources issues of available RAM and free hard drive space.
Then we should not forget the usual drill of is your video card driver up to date according to the web site of the video card manufacturer?
And, we need clarification on "The clip plays fine from the window." What window?" Where is the clip slow and jerky? Please distinquish between Edit Mode monitor, Preview Window within the program and playback of the export in a player.
And, we should rule in or out whether the project is set up correctly, that is, what project preset is being selected and does it match the properties of the source media??
Please review the above considerations. Then we can try to put the discussion exchanges into perspective to help you move forward in your Premiere Elements 12 projects.
Please do not hesitate ot ask if you need clarification on anything that I have written.
Thanks.
ATR
*For Premiere Elements 10, 11, or 12 to be a 64 bit application on Windows, it is written that it must be running on Windows 7 or 8 64 bit specifically. That means to me operating system, not processor. Until proven otherwise, regarding your 32 bit operating system with a 64 bit processor, that is my take on your specific situation in this regard.
