32 bit processing HD

Hello all and thanks
trying to do final output of HD project. 2 questions - first i do need to do 32 bit rendering . . correct? and second how come it tells me i'm out of memory when i try??
I have a G5 quad processor 8.5gig of ram and 350 of 750 left on hard drive. How can i be out of memory. It does this on just normal HD video, not on graphics. I do have some of those but not to that point of program yet. It also crashes a lot trying this.
Please help me!!!
thanks again

i trashed preferences and it seemed to help a little. it still gives me the out of memory if i dont render it in small pieces. there are a couple sped up pieces that it still wont do. plus now i have some wierd color burts in high corma or lumince areas - also i phantom audio appearance????? a line from some other part 40 mins away in the program uuuuggghhhhhh!!!!!

  • Unable to close Photoshop CS4 (64 bit) - Process in Windows Task Manager remains open

    Hi everyone,
    I've just upgraded to CS4
When i launch Photoshop for the first time, it's running normally.
But if i close it, it seems to be closed, but a photoshop.exe (64 bit) process is still remaining in memory and i can't launch
Photoshop until a kill the first process.
The computer is is Windows Vista 64 bit with 8GB of RAM and a Ndivia Geforce 9400 GT graphic card.
The problems remains if I disable OpenGL or reset prefs.
I only have the 64 bit application installed and for the rest seems fine.
    All help is welcome !

I assume you reboot the computer after removing the buggy software?
I would do a search on your computer for the software and see if there are any remaining folders. If so remove them and reboot.
This is a good free removal software. It is called CCleaner and it will remove any junk remaining on your computer. Give that a try. It also has a registry cleaner too.
Up to you if you wish to use the registry cleaner. May help because there might be something left over from removing the software that is triggering the problem still.

  • Some performance counter objects are not available for a 32-bit process on 64-bit versions of Windows Server 2012 standard

When we try to gather performance counter information for a 32-bit process on a 64-bit computer that is running Microsoft Windows Server 2012, all our performance counter objects are not available with 32 bit perfmon application (C:\Windows\SysWOW64\perfmon.exe)
I didn't notified any errors while registering our counter objects or while running Perfmon.exe
Note: Same counter objects are available and working fine with Windows Server 2008 R2.
for diagnostic our counters on WIN2012, ran command as follows:
     cd c:\windows\sysWOW64
     lodctr /Q
I am able to see all our counter objects on response and infact all were shown as enabled, as shown below
Appreciate quiclk response with solution or clues to diagnose it more details.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Sudhakar Rudra

    Hi,
    Thanks for your reply.
I hope you understood our problem.
same our system counter objects (ver x), we able to browse from Perfmon 32 bit app on Windows 7, Windows 2008 R2 (64bit) OS but not on Windows 2012.
I am able to see all counter objects registered as follows (same at HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Services\HMI Alarm Class\Performance,
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet002\Services\HMI Alarm Class\Performance
    and
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\HMI Alarm Class\Performance)
Only difference I observed that "Disable Performance Counters" were set to 4 in Windows 2012 OS unlike other windows 7 64bit OS and there is no differnece for remaining all entires.
I tried setting that "Disable Performance Counters" value to "0", but some how they get reset to "4", no luck..
I think "Disable Performance Counters" value either "0", or "4", should not matter for browsing our counters with 32bit bit perfmon applicaiton.
Do you see any issues of registry entries. ?
On what basis perfomance monitor list few enabled counters?
How can we add our counters manually to perfomance monitor?

  • Internet Explorer 11 not executing 32-bit processes

Haven't found another posting exactly like this, so I am making one. I have a workstation running Windows 7 SP1 x64 with Internet Explorer 11 (v.11.0.9600.17728). I have a third-party 32-bit ActiveX Control that needs to run in this browser. However, every
time I execute iexplore, it opens as a 64 bit process.  My understanding was that by default, IE11 runs a 64-bit wrapper, with 32-bit tabs, however when I check Task Manager, all I am seeing is a single iexplore.exe process, no iexplore.exe*32, no matter
how many tabs I open, I only see the single iexplore process. I also cannot click and drag tabs to spawn separate IE windows; the tabs are all stuck in the single Internet Explorer window. I've tried manually running iexplore from the x86 Program Files folder
and it still only runs the single 64-bit process. I'm looking for some guidance as to where to go next as this user needs to run this add-on and can't unless I can successfully get the 32-bit IE tabs to open.  The last version that I've confirmed successfully
opened iexplore*32 processes was IE9, which was on here previously. IE10 and 11 have both failed to execute separate processes. Any assistance is much appreciated. Thanks.

    Hi,
Based on my test, same result with Frederik. For your situation, have you tried to reset IE for test?
In addition, Enable IE protected mode and turn on 64 bit tab option is not help with this problem. If you doubt it is Group Policy problem, you can use GPresult command to check if there is any settings about IE.
Open CMD with Administrator, type  GPRESULT /H GPReport.html
After that, type .\GPReport.html command to open the report.
If no use, you can try to use Process Monitor to check IE startup process for test. We may found some clue with this problem.

  • Does the Intel partnership signal the end of 64-bit processing?

I read the white paper on the new Intel chips that Apple is incorporating and found, to no surprise whatsoever, that they are the same 32-bit crap that Intel is famous for. My question is: Does this mean that Apple will no longer be developing an OS or software for 64-bit processing? One of the reasons I bought a G5 was the promise of even greater performance in the future when more applications came online that fully utilized my G5's potential. Will those products no longer be forthcoming. No one has addressed this issue, that I can find.

Hope someone can answer this question for me...
With 64 bit processing, will this work on an intel processor inside a macbook from '07?
Not really sure what 64 bit processing entails anre requires!

    Hi BennyboyOxtoby;
If you read what has been released so far about GCD, you will see that GCD is a tool to aid developers in the writing code that is multi-threaded so it will not enable applications to be multi-threaded in and of itself. It will only be able to do that after the developers run their code through GCD. Hate to burst your bubble.

  • Switching back from 64 bit jvm process to 32 bit process

I have my customer, go-live on WLS 9.2 MP2 on Sun Solaris 10 on 64 -bit. We have faced several crashes related to different reasons. I had applied 3X4R patch from Weblogic as well. Now, because they are on production and server crash is unacceptable, I need to rollback to 32 bit version that is more stable. So, can anyone point me to documentation that states the steps to rolling back to 32 bit process from 64 bit. The concern here is to ensure that rolling back along with 64 bit patches from weblogic shouldn't create any new issue.
    Please let me know.
    Thanks.

First of all I am kind of surprised you've got a
speed gain of 20% using the 64 bit mode. I thought in
general there was not much speed gain and sometimes
even a loss of performance. My own reason for using
64bit mode is to be able to address more than 4gb of
    memory.
Saying that, it seems you have the choice of either
run in 64bit mode and connect somehow (RMI???) to a
32bit JVM that will run your 32bit native libraries.
This seems to be a bit of a fragile and dingy
solution to me, which probably quickly loses any
speedgains you get from running in 64bit mode.
Or you just go for the 32bit mode all over, and hope
that some day in future your 3rd part libraries
become available in 64 bit mode.
Honestly, unless you're going to address lots of
memory, I think this last solution is the most viable
    option.Good advice!

  • Fcp - ram speed, bus speed, and 64 bit processing

how much do these (ram speed, bus speed, and 64 bit processing) specs play a role in fcp's performance? I hear conflicting opinions about it's utilization of the 64 bit processor(s). some say yes some say no. is ram speed from one rev to the next that much different, particularly in the last two G5's? Or, is the amount of ram and the processor type the most important considerations in optimizing fcp performance? thanks for your help!

SD/SDI card is to bring in video material in formats other than DV. If all you will ever work in is DV or HDV, firewire only is fine. If you want to work with non-DV formats and without expansion slots, you need to look into something like the AJA io to do your conversion and bring it down firewire. This solution has its own potential problems when the device and the hard drives are on the same bus.
You need a second drive just for media. On the Powermac you simply add a second internal drive. This is not possible on the iMac - an external firewire drive is the only option. This by itself is not an issue. Most people who do this with any seriousness end up adding a series of external hard drives to deal with the mass of media.
The limiting factor is that you only have one firewire bus (all macs have only one firewire bus) and if you run into problems with the camera (or VTR or AJA io) & hard drives not cooperating on one bus, you have no option to fix it. On the iMac, you have no option to add in a card to create a second firewire bus in the system.
So yes, the people at the store are correct. You can make the iMac work (with an external firewire drive). However, if you run into problems, you have severely limited options to mediate them. What I was trying to suggest is some things work better. An analogy might be, If I need to drive nails, the handle of a screwdriver can be made to work, but I should not be surprised if it does it badly and breaks when pushed hard.
    good luck.

-W2000 server managed to get as far as formatting the drive space except it only saw 131G of the 200G HDD then told me the HDD was corrupt.
-W2000 Server - Now get error message telling me that some .sys files are corrupt on the CD. sigh. Not true - tested on diff machine.
    -W2003 Server - blue screen
-W98 installs (formats in FAT32 OK) OK

There are three common reasons why a hard drive would be detected as 137GB (128GB Binary) during Windows installation:
    1. If the Windows installation CD does not contain Windows 2000 Service Pack 3 or Windows XP Service Pack 1, the initial installation of Windows will not support drives larger than 137GB. During installation of Windows, the hard drive will be limited to a 137GB (or less) partition. After Windows installation as been completed and Service Pack 1 (for Windows XP) or Service Pack 3 (for Windows 2000) have been installed, the remaining empty area of the hard drive can be partitioned and formatted with the link below.
Title: How to partition and format your hard drive (from unused space) for use in Windows XP or Server 2003.
    URL: http://wdc.custhelp.com/cgi-bin/wdc.cfg/php/enduser/std_adp.php?p_faqid=330&p_created=1025121240
    2. The system does not have a 48-bit LBA-compatible Basic Input/Output System (BIOS) installed. This includes EIDE controller card BIOSs. Please contact your motherboard or controller card manufacturer to determine if your hardware supports 48-bit LBA addressing. Please see the link below for information pertaining to this issue.

    3. Drivers for the motherboard IDE controller or controller card are not installed. Some motherboards and controller cards require drivers to be installed (during Windows installation) to support hard drives over 137GB. Please contact your motherboard or controller card manufacturer for installation instructions and driver availability for this issue.

  • Is Aperture 3 a 16 bit processing program

As I do some astrophotography, I am looking for an alternative to PS, which is far too expensive... Is Aperture 3 processing RAW images in
16 bits, as does PS... I understand it can open and save files in 16 bit, but is the processing donné in 16 bit...

You're referring to bit depth or instruction word length?
Aperture  3.2.2 in Lion is 64 bit program code.
As for image bit depth Aperture works on the full resolution master files when you do your adjustments so that depends on your masters if you import an 8 bit jpg that's all Aperture has to work with.
As far as exporting goes Aperture is capable of exporting 16 bit full size tiffs.

  • 8 vs 10-bit (FCP) image processing.

Is there a noticeable difference between FC Express (8-bit) vs FCP 5 (10-bit) image processing (my DV camera is 12-bit)?
    Thanks for the info!

    FCE isn't 8-bit.
According to the Apple website, FCE uses 8-bit image processing (while FCP 5 uses 10-bit):
    http://www.apple.com/finalcut/index.html
    (scroll down to "editing" section)
And your DV camera being 12-bit? That is referring to the AUDIO.
I have a Panasonic DVX100B, and the audio is PCM 16 bit, 48 KHz sampling. I am refering to the image processing. The video analog-to-digital converters are 12-bit, but you're right DV is quantized to 8-bit.
FCP 5 handles not only DV, but UNCOMPRESSED 8-bit and 10-bit formats. FCE does not...it only handles DV. Noticable difference? Only to an engineer who scrutinizes the image.
So, FCP 5 only uses 10-bit processing when working with uncompressed files? Thanks for the info. Sorry, I'm still a little confused.
If I'm working in standard-definition DV, will FC Express still give me the best image quality available?

  • What is difference between 32 bit and 64 bit sql server memory management

What is difference between 32 bit and 64 bit sql server memory management
    Thanks
    Shashikala

This is the basic difference...check if helps:
A 32-bit CPU running 32-bit software (also known as the x86 platform) is so named because it is based on an architecture that can manipulate values that are up to 32 bits in length. This means that a 32-bit memory pointer can store a value between 0 and
4,294,967,295 to reference a memory address. This equates to a maximum addressable space of 4GB on 32-bit platforms
On the other hand 64-bit limit of 18,446,744,073,709,551,616, this number is so large that in memory/storage terminology it equates to 16 exabytes. You don’t come across that term very often, so to help understand the scale, here is the value converted to
    more commonly used measurements: 16 exabytes = 16,777,216 petabytes (16 million PB)➤ 17,179,869,184 terabytes (17 billion TB)➤ 17,592,186,044,416 gigabytes (17 trillion GB)➤
As you can see, it is significantly larger than the 4GB virtual address space usable in 32-bit systems; it’s so large in fact that any hardware capable of using it all is sadly restricted to the realm of science fiction. Because of this, processor manufacturers
decided to only implement a 44-bit address bus, which provides a virtual address space on 64-bit systems of 16TB. This was regarded as being more than enough address space for the foreseeable future and logically it’s split into an 8TB range for user mode
and 8TB for kernel mode. Each 64-bit process running on an x64 platform will be able to address up to 8TB of VAS.

    3. What should I do to get the installation pass (either remove the check or make it satisfying)?
PS. The 32 bit Oracle Server installation on Windows 2003 works without problem when invoked from InstallShield.

Please use 2008R2 if you want to install 11gR2 versionThank you for that update. Possibly it will help me to solve another trouble.
Regarding the problem I described, the issue is that I install Oracle Client 32 bit prior to trying to install Oracle Servier 64 bit.
The Oracle Client setup had started RemoteExecService.exe 32 bit process. And the process remained running after the installation completed.
The Oracle Server setup utilizes the running RemoteExecService.exe process. Since the process is 32 bit, the architecture requirement check had failed.
I've added to my script killing the process
    taskkill /F /IM RemoteExecService.exe
before invoking the Oracle Server installation.
That way the Oracle Server setup starts another RemoteExecService.exe process and the new process is 64 bit.
    The architecture requirement succeed.
