32" Emerson LCD displays text blurry

I connected my G4 tower to a 32" Emerson LCD via DVI -HDMI connector. The icons & folders look sharp but the text looks like *#$@*#@!
Any advise to a better display? I want the best visual experience

It's also possible your video card does not support the resolutions available on a giant monitor. Do System Preferences > Displays and see what it reports for available resolutions:
To see what video card is installed, find System Profiler in Applications > Utilities and launch it. From Profiler's left-hand "Contents" pane, select "Graphics/Displays" to see the name and specs of your video hardware:
With that info, we may be able to offer more suggestions.

Power G3/LCD Display Upgrade?

I have a Blue and White Power G3 and would like to upgrade to a 22” LCD display.
Are there any limitations with OS 9.2.2 and the ATI Rage 128 card that I should be aware of when making a selection?
I don’t want to spend any more than I need to and so I don’t want the display to exceed the limitations of my computer?
What features could be left out?
For example, would it be better to get a display that just has only a VGA (analogue) input instead of a combination of VGA and DVI,(digital) inputs, and perhaps with less resolution, etc.?
Someone told me that it’s not a good idea to use a display that’s over nineteen inches wide.

I just bought a AJ2216WBD Acer 22” monitor with a 1680 x 1050 resolution and I’m afraid to take it out of the box because of what I learned about lcd screens and native resolution. I read the following about lcd screens:
“The most noticeable disadvantage is their fixed or native resolution. An LCD screen can only display the number of pixels in its matrix and no more or less. It can display a lower resolution in one or two ways. Using only a fraction of the pixels on the display or through extrapolation. Extrapolation is a method whereby the monitor blends multiple pixels together to simulate a single smaller pixel. This can often lead to a blurry or fuzzy image particularly with text when running the screen below its native resolution.”
And unlike a CRT screen where the resolution can be scaled down.”
The highest resolution my 128 rage card offers is 1600 x 1200 at thousands of colors and 1280 x 1024 at millions of colors. And so I’m wondering if I’m better off with a view screen that has a lower native resolution, such as the Samsung Syncmaster 940T or 904bx 19” and the LG LI953TX 19” with a resolution of 1280 x 1024
Although, I’d actually prefer a 22” screen.
There is also the Viewsonic VA1926W with a resolution of 1440 X 900 but that would be pushing it because I would never be able to have native resolution with millions of colors.
What would be the most normal situation for an lcd screen with a Blue and White Power G3 450 MHz computer,, in terms of resolution and screen size?
Also, according to Apple, the highest 2D display mode is 1280 x 1024 at 75Hz with millions of colors, thousands of colors and 256 colors. While the maximum 3D resolution is 1280 x 1024 with millions of colors and 1600 x 1200 with thousands of colors.
How can the resolution be higher in 3D than in 2D mode for thousands of colors?
Do you just get more with 3D?
I would like to fully experience the capabilities of my rage card with the best lcd screen to bring it out.

I -Mac 24 inch LCD display

I would like to know the best resolution for (or default I guess) for the I-MAC 24 inch LCD display? Today I wanted to change the brightness as my eyes were feeling tired and in the process of doing too many things at once, I guess I inadvertently changed the resolution. I went through and tried about all of them.......but wanted to know which one is best?
ALSO, in the midst of this process of changing resolutions, I began to notice a blurry area at the bottom right of my display. As I said, my eyes were tired and I thought at first it was just me. But then it was like weird. I decided to power off the computer and see what it looked like with a black screen. I did this - and there was this odd whitish area almost resembling fog or condensation. But it is on the inside and hard to know what is going on. I left the computer off and kept checking back and this blurred, foggy whitish spot slowly disappeared. What is going on?

As for that blurry fog that occurred that day ---- it has never happened again. I am wondering if this was a result of my inadvertently changing the resolution to something inappropriate and that part of the screen would have become black......and then when it got changed back MAYBE this whitish area was left behind for a while. Like I said it did slowly disappear.
I am planning to take my I-MAC in for a check very soon as I had the feeling during the summer months that it was overheating on occasion as it sometimes powered down on its own. So I will tell them about this as well.

Displaying text more than 256 in ALV report

                 I have problem while displaying text field in ALV report which has more than 256 characters.
I'm using CL_SALV_TABLE for displaying alv.while concatenating my internal table holding all the text.but at the time of displying the report it's only displaying 256 characters.

When I click on - View - Page Source, I want to edit with NotePad - note just display text in fancy colors

- click to see html, edit it, (file name already there), save it
- hit restore on browser - see what I did -
Just changed from IE
which gave me NotePad, which is just fine for me
Just changed to FireFox
and it displays text in a non-editor,
can't edit and save easily
What to do??
Even worst - after installing FireFox
IE no longer clicks to NotePad
but that fancy non-editor :-(((

Creative MP3 Player (Microphoto) Blank LCD Display Scr

Nice requirement.
Not sure 100% but from my memory i guess we can display the image for characteristic, instead of text or key by using Analysis web item Using parameter modification in WAD .
Kindly check for Modifcation parameter Display image Module (com.sap.ip.bi.*.Documentcontent) in WAD, it might solve your purpose.

Problem with LCD display on 17" iMac G4

The LCD display on my iMac went wacky on me yesterday. It's as though one of the three primary colors no longer works. The screen has a green tinge to it, and anything that's supposed to be black shows up as green. I've reset everything, run the Hardware Tools diagnostics (no problems found), and changed resloutions, monitor depth, and brightness levels many times. No luck. The screen is readable although very ugly.
Obviously I can take it to an Apple Store, but does anyone have any idea what it might be? I've searched the net and the forums and can't find anything close, but I know I can't be the only one to experience this problem. I called a mac repair shop a few minutes ago, and they said that the logic board would need to be replaced. I just can't believe that because nothing else is a problem.

17" iMac G4 1Ghz Mac OS X (10.4.6)

I "fixed" the problem a few days ago. Digging around here in the forums, I found another thread that gave explicit instructions on how to open the iMac and re-seat the connections. Here is the link (http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=196785&start=30&tstart=30). It's a post from Androcles made on 3/26/06.
Just as he indicates, when I did this I found nothing to be loose at all, however upon putting it all back together, on the 2nd re-boot all was back to normal and still is. It's amazing how clear and crisp the screen is after suffering through the green hue for a few weeks...

Mega865 - No LCD Display

I' have the problem describe in the "Important Threads - Things to know before (and after) building a Mega 865".
When I receive my Mega865, i tried it without processor and it seams works well. So I assemble it to work in PC mode and all is OK too.
Because I had the sound problem (no device found), I read the "Important Threads" and so I realise that my LCD display was not working too (i only use PC mode at this time).
I don't know if the two problems are in connection.
The sound problem disapear but I have still no Front Lcd Display.
I flashed the bios with the new version (1.3) and verified all the connectors that i could see.
What can I do more ? Is my MoBO dead ?

i think it might have something to do with the proximity sensor and that sensor disables the phone functions when in call mode so that you do not accidentally press any other buttons.i think that it disables the touch screen when you put it close to your face. once you hand up the phone, it returns to normal operations right?

How to display TEXT more than 500 char in a report as multiple lines.

i have a requirement like i should display Texts of length more than 500 Characters in a report( ALV LIST) as multiple lines
I am fetching the data Using FM READ_TEXT
the output im currently geeting with 150 Char in lenth as a single line
How we can split the text into multiple lines in a report
first i would like to know is it possible? if possible please give your valuable suggitions if not is there any alternative way to do this task.

Hi,
This is possible but the Solution might not look Standard/Appropriate to you.
In ALV, you can have Multiple Line Output...There is a Field in the Field Catalogue..called as Row_position...this is by default 0...which means Single row/Line ALV output....You can have this Value in the Range of 0 to 3.......A ALV field with row_position 1, will be displayed in the second line for every record...i.e. you will have multiple line for a single record of ALV.
In your case......you can use this but you need to split your field in two fields.....but you may end up spliting a single word....but for that also you can design the logic of splitting the Fiel value at SPACE only......

Why is the small text blurry on photoshop?

why is the small text blurry on photoshop? i am **** a very small advert for a newspaper! and the text is printing blurry and when zoomed in is appearing all blurry? how do i stop this i only have photoshop and indesign

Indesign is definitely the preferable tool for the task at hand, but claiming Photoshop cannot output type except pixelated was not proper.
I think in a forum we should not support the use of wrong tools but we have to show the best way to do things correct.
And there are also problems which cannot avoided with higher knowledge like coloured black (not in this ad). Yes, you an me we are capable to shift around the known problems with ads created in Photoshop, but others don't know these problems and will crash.

Need to display TEXT in web selection screen

HI All,
We are working on CRM-BW modeling. We have one field called "product" which will have key and medium text. We need to display both key + text in web reporting selection screen. When we ran first time text was not showing in web report. Then we found and change the configuration in search help in SE11 for that field. Then we can see the text+key combination in RSRT but still we can't see the text in web report selection screen...
Now what we have to do to display text in selection screen on web...
Please give your inputs ASAP.....we are in UAT phase....

For you case: Display key & text in selection screen.
In BW,
You can go to query designer, then you'll go to the info-object belong to the variable (selection-screen : product). Right-click, find for the properties, Then you'll see the option for <b>display as</b>.
Choose it for Key and text.
Then save it.
Go to the report, in the selection screen, when you're choosing for the help, you'll see the value displayed by key & text.
Hopefully it can help you a lot.

About monitors and LCD displays

I want give you some directrices about the display sub system.
Like you all know there are CRT monitors and LCD displays.
CRT
CRT monitors are based upon electron beams hitting Electroluminescent phosphorus. In these monitors the most important parameters are:
1) Dot pitch
2) Refresh rate
Dot pitch is the size of a single phosphorus point, smaller is better. Typical values range between 0.24 and 0.25. Beware with monitors having a not constant dot pitch, there are monitors with dot pitch of 0.24 at center of screen and 0.25 at the borders. I recommend monitors with constant dot pitch size across all screen.
Refresh rate is the number of times a single electron beam travels across the screen drawing a single frame (from left to right and top to bottom) each second. It is measured in Herz (Hz). Bigger is better. Typical values range between 60 Hz and 120 Hz and the value depends upon resolution, more resolution goes to less possible refresh rate. If you are going to play games with shutter glasses, make sure your monitor is capable of 120 Hz minimun at the playing resolution. In 3D Stereo, each full 3D frame must be drawn 60 times/second (60 Hz) but a 3D frame is a single right eye frame and a single left eye frame, 60 Hz for left frame and 60 Hz for right frame are the full 120 Hz. If you CRT is not capable of these 120 Hz your eyes will suffer fatigue / strain and you would have a great headache after prolonged time periods.
LCD
A LCD display do not uses a electron beam to excite phosphorus and generate colored points, instead this it uses a grille and a special lamp. Instead drawing a frame line at line from top to bottom and left to right, it renders the frame in a step only and continuously, these displays are flat for this, there is no necesity for high voltage and magnetic fileds to move the electron beam. In these displays these are the more important parameters:
1) Dot pitch
2) Response time
3) Number of colors (color space)
Dot pitch is the same as with CRTs
Reponse time is the time it gets going from pure white to pure black. Less is better. It is measured in miliseconds. Good typical values range about 16 ms. If you are going to use the LCD to play games, response time is the more important parameter at all.
Number of colors are the simultaneus colors in screen. It have a inverse relationship with response time. It is measured in million of colors or bits. 24 bits of color depth are 16.7 million of colors. Typical values range agout 16 / 16.7 millions. Greater is better. LCDs with 16 ms response time have, usually, 16.5 millions of colors.
Somethimes, the manufacturer will provide you drivers (setup or inf files) for your operating system. I recomend install this drivers. Don't panic if there are no drivers for your display device, Windows, probably, will find the suitable driver for your brand and model.
If you have a CRT and you are stuck at 60~85 Hz you will need the right driver because Windows would not have found a suitable driver from its drivers base and it chose a standard monitor driver.
If you have a LCD and you are stuck at 60 Hz, all is fine, as i have told you yet, LCD displays paint the screen continuously, you will not appreciate any flicker at 60 Hz in these devices. You can check this if you have a digital camera, make a photo of a CRT with a shutter of <monitor refresh rate> * 1.5. You will see a partially drawn picture. If you take a photo of a LCD with the same shutter rules you will get a full picture. With LCD you will get full pictures always, independently of the shutter.
