320-1030

I am having an issue with the USB port.  My flash drive when inserted is recognized when I click on Computer.  However, when I plug in my IPOD it does not show up when I click on Computer.  The same thing is occurring when I plug in my GPS for updates.  Any idea why this is happening and how it can be fixed.
Thank you.

  • HP 320-1030 WINDOWS 7 TOUCHSCREEN SOFTWARE AND WINDOWS 8 UPGRADE

Just purchased an hp 320-1030 touchscreen with windows 7 operating system. The advertisement was that you could upgrade to windows 8 for $15 and HP would refund the $15.00
When you read the upgrade information it states that HP Touchsmart applications are not compatible with Windows 8 and must be uninstalled before upgrade.
The Windows 7 touchscreen came with the following touchscreen applications:
    HP Touchsmart 5.0
    HP Touchsmart Music
    HP Touchsmart Browser
    HP Touchsmart Web Cam
    Canvas
HP movie store powered by Roxio Now.
Is Windows 8 going to provide Replacement applications that will function as well ?
A Little help on staying with Windows 7 for an HP Windows 7 Touchscreen or upgrading for Windows 8.
If I knew about these limitiations I would have waited for a HP Windows 8 touchscreen.

  • Win 7 pro installed on hp touchsmart 320-1030, the machine cannot boot from installation DVD. Assist

I have installed Win 7 professional on hp touchsmart 320-1030 with an OEM DVD to overwrite Win 7 premium  preinstalled from factory.
I want to reboot the machine with the same DVD after completing the installation, to test for possibility of reimage in case of crash. Although in bios, I specify cd\dvd as firts boot media,  the machine cannot boot from installation DVD.  I have 20 machines that behave this way. Can anyone assist?
Note: I had to delete all partitions on the PC before doing a fresh installation of Win 7 pro as Premium can not joing domain.

    Hello,
So, you installed Window 7 Pro with a DVD, you boot with it to install the O.S, and now it does not work?
Have you tried to load the BIOS default values or even updating the BIOS?
If it had work before, cant understand why it does not work now...
    Let me know.
    Thanks,

  • Can I attach a second monitor to a TouchSmart 320-1030?

Can I attach a second monitor to a TouchSmart 320-1030? It has only USB i/o ports. How do I do it? Will the software support it if I can find the right hardware? Can I use an older VHS monitor with some sort of a USB/VHS conversion gadget?

These units do not have any video out capability, you will need a USB to VGA/HDMI/DVI adapter from a 3rd party, there's no such thing as a "VHS monitor" did you mean VGA? if so then the statement above applies, as it does for all the other 9 million threads on this same subject :-)

    Terrence, welcome to the forum.
From what I have read, you will need the video driver for the computer.  This should solve your problem with the touchscreen.

  • How to temporarily disable the touch screen in Windows 8? Touchsmart 320-1122la

Meanwhile, read this document to see if it offers any solutions:HP TouchSmart PCs - Troubleshooting Touch Screen Issues in Windows 8

Sorry that document didn't help. As for how to find your product and numbers, on my HP TouchSmart 320-1030, for example, I found both numbers on a sticker on the back of my PC, near the bottom, just under the inputs (USB, power, etc.). I also found that information in roughly the same area on my friend's HP ENVY TouchSmart 23-d034. A really easy way to find out is to press the CTRL, ALT, and S keys. The HP Support Information box will open, showing your model number, product number, serial number, and other important information. I used Snipping Tool to take a screen capture of this information on my screen, and then I printed it and emailed it to myself. It's good information to have on hand if you're getting support, making warranty inquiries, or for your insurance files, if your PC were, say, damaged in a fire, tornado, etc. Once you obtain that information, go to the Drivers and Download page. Click the Support and Drivers button, and enter your product number.  Check for new drivers for your product. You can also get support and warranty information at the above link.

  • TouchSmart 320 wireless USB receiver

Setup instructions for the TouchSmart 320-1030 state a wireless USB receiver is needed for the wireless keyboard/mouse but none was found in packaging. Is a USB receiver needed or is the receiver built in?

    Hello Dsnow:
Yes it is needed and if look behind your Touch Smart at the bottom you will see its usb port where it goes. It may be located there all ready just remove tape and push it in. It is very small and might be still in the packageing. Contact HP Direct Support if you do not have it. They will send you a new one takes up to three days because they will Federal Expres it. Your computer came with one warranty and that is covered.

  • Local area connection doesn't have valid ip

I have a Touchsmart 320-1030 that belongs to a friend. Everything was working fine then for no apparent reason connection to the internet was lost.  They have contacted their isp and gone through all troubleshooting with them. All other equipment (ie laptops, phones, ect..) connect and work fine. The windows troubleshooter offers no help and says  local area connection doesn't have valid ip is the reason it won't connect. This is true when trying to connect wired or wireless.  I piddle with fixing computers as a hobby so they have asked me to see what I can do if anything. I have been Googling, reading, and trying everything I have found for three days and have had no luck. So I am hoping I can find some help here. I have never seen anything like this. It may be a hardware problem and I'm not smart enough to realise it. But I need to know that too.
    System -
    Touchsmart 320-1030
    Win 7 Home Premium
    4 gigs ram
    What I have done -
Brought system to my house to see if it will connect, it does not so I am working on it here.
I have rebooted modem & router
Connected systen directly to modem bypassing router
Uninstalled and allowed windows to detect and reinstall network drivers
    Updated network drivers
    Updated Bios
Tryed to inatall orginal drivers from support but they wont install
I have changed from detect automaticly to use this ip in tcip ip4 and used ip I know is good to my router -
When I did this last thing the wireless did see my network but the network 2 thingy that it makes still won't connect even tho when I search for connections the list says I am connected to my network. The little thing by the clock says not connected. Also the ethernet adapter says unknown public network when I do that. Wireless says unknown public network or connection when I have it detect ip automaticly.
Network discovery will not turn on in homegroup, nether will the services assocated with it.
I have run tweaking . com firewall repair
I have uninstalled avast security, there are no other av or firewall programs
I have uninstalled bonjoir because I read that causes a conflict of somekind
I have run tweaking . com windows repair ( just in case because it looked liked the firewall repair was doing something).
I have run sfc /scannow and it found and fixed some things, ran it again and it found nothing.
I am pulling my hair out with this one. Please help.
    Thanks for your time.

  • Speakers Disabled and Do Not Show Up in Control Panel

    Hello,
I have a Touchsmart 320-1030 and have just upgraded to Windows 8.1 from a 8.1 preview build.  My speakers seemed to have been disabled in the process and updating drivers hasn't worked because when I go to the control panel there are no audio devices installed under the sound options.
What steps can I take to fix this?
    Thanks!

    Jay, welcome to the forum.
Here is a driver that should work for Windows 8.1:

  • New at computers and over 55yrs.

I am real new to the computer world I  have a HP 320-1030 Touchsmart all in  one desktop with window 7,  4A vision AMD, media easy  touch smart 5.0, I want to be able to use my Sony Bravia KDL-37L4000 as a monitor sometimes so what do I need cable wise and how do I hook up the cables?? I have internet and cable tv reciever box. Do I need to change any settings on tv and computer?

    Welcome to the forum.
I checked the specifications for your computer and I cannot find anything indicating that the system supports HDMI, which is the most common connection for Sony Bravia TVs.  I did not find any other type of video port on the computer specs, either.
HP TouchSmart 320-1030 Desktop PC Product Specifications
I can offer the following idea:
USB to HDMI Display Adapter Review: Device Lets You Use an HDTV as a Second Monitor
Note that there are other brands of USB to HDMI converters -- I chose this article because it explains some the particulars about the device.  You can elect to use a completely different brand; they are probably similar.  I would, if I were you, read the reviews on any device you decide to buy.
When you have the connectors you need and are ready to try the connection...
Order of Events is Critical - Start Again.
Shut down the computer.  Disconnect relevant cables.
Turn off the monitor or TV.
Connect an HDMI cable to the computer and to the display.
Turn on the (TV / Monitor) display, and select the HDMI input as the input source to view.
Boot the computer and log in.
    NOTE:
Many TVs are not set to HDMI and have to be switched to HDMI on the TV side beforehand.  Check!
Some Computers do not support a compatible resolution to support the “Extended Screen” function.  You may need to opt to use “Duplicated Screens” instead to get some combinations of TV / Computer to work at all.  A Symptom of the lack of compatibility:  Duplicated Screen setting works but the Extended Screen setting results in the connected TV (or Monitor) going black and having to be reset.

  • Can't turn on pen and touch after windows 10 update

Recently updated my HP TouchSmart 320 1030 to Windows 10. Pen and touch isn't working.  It does on the log on screen ONLY after the computer  turns on, but not after Windows opens!  I opened pen and touch in the control panel, it doesn't allow me to even select  "Touch Action" to change any settings, only "Double-tap" and "Press and Hold".  I went to "Tablet PC Settings" to "Calibrate the screen for pen and touch input", and attempted to "Setup" under CONFIGURE and "Calibrate" under DISPLAY, and in both cases nothing happened when I touched the screen.   Basicaly once i'm logged on to Windows NOTHING touchscreen works. I know the touchscreen WORKS (since it works famously at the LOGIN SCREEN), but something with the software once Windows 10 opens?  Please help.I did have pen and touch turned off when I was running Windows 7 and then I updated to windows 10 (maybe something to do with it?). Confused.I don't believe it's the updates fault I'm just frustrated it's not letting me turn it on or anything.
