32AV502RZ 2009 No Sound on 2 channels

This is a duplicate post since I first posted it in the Software and Download section since it is a Firmware Question.  But I believe it is better here...  Have this 2009 32AV502RV that has 2 analog channels with no sound. Did all the usual stuff... MTS/SAP/Stereo/Mono and a Master Reset with no luck.
Did find the problem on a few forums mostly in 2009 and one Canadian Forum had a link to the Canadian Download to update the Firmware for JUST THIS PROBLEM in 2010 called Firmware 1.09. I have 1.05.  I downloaded it to a USB Drive Stick and loaded it... At the End it gave me a CRC Error and I believe that is a Canadian Region Code error of something like that.  I am a former Sony Service Tech for 8 years, Play Station 1 and 2, DVD, Phones, TiVO, Cameras and more plus a Retired Navy Fire Control Chief. SO I want to FIX this....  Talked to the Tech Services 3 times in the Philippines and got great service but they were unable to send me the Download.  Sony also used a service in PI that I talked to often in my Sony Service Center Bristol, PA days before they closed.  Worked in San Diego for the first 4 making CRT's at the Tube Plant starting in 95.
I did find that I can BUY this locally from the Service Tech for $60.00 but paying 1/3 the price of the TV for a KNOWN PROBLEM and a simple Firmware FIX is Crazy....
Looking for a Cheaper Option.... Even a FREE Option....  Sure I can get a Analog Cable Box to fix it... OR a 7 inch TV just to play the audio for the 2 missing channels OR get a DVD Tuner... But they all require another Remote Control...  The REAL fix is a simple 1.09 Download in the US format....
HELP....  CHEAP in PA....  digitalwoodshop at AOL

The problem appears to have FIXED itself... ???  Was flipping through the channels last night and the channel was missing from the up down function but when I selected it on the number pad it came in just fine... I then added it to the list and today it is fine....  The first channel that has been missing audio for over 6 months, a religious channel is still no audio but that is OK... So it is fixed...
Suggestion is to try to un select it from the line up and later call it up as it could re establish the format or something....  Just a WAG... Wild AL Guess...
While laying in bed last night thinking about this problem I realized that CRC was not Canadian Region Code... but Country Region Code....   daaaa...
Thanks for the looks....

  • No sound on HD Channels

Turn on HD Box viewing a non-HD channel (not all channels come in HD) - works fine
Switch to an HD channel, we get no sound. Turn box off, then on, we have sound on HD channels
    Tried re-setting box.

This is a common problem with HDMI and signaling issues between various vendors of STB's and TV's.   Some play well together and some don't.
One option to try is to force the HDMI audio encoding to a specific type.   On my QIP6200-2, you can access this setting by starting with the STB turn on, then on the front panel in quick succession press "Power", "Select" then "Menu".   After a few seconds a configuration screen should appear -- using the remote move down the Additional HDMI settings and hit the right arrow.  Then move down to the "Audio Output" and try changing between "Auto",  L-PCM, and Passthru.
If that doesn't yield a combination that works for you, one option some find acceptable is to not use the HDMI for audio (commonly what would be done if you were using DVI instead) and instead get the audio from the SPDIF digital output if your TV supports it.  In fact, if you want, from the same menu above, you can remove the audio signal from the HDMI ouptut by switching the unit into DVI mode (DVI basically being HDMI without the audio channels on the same cable).

  • S750 muffled sound front/center channel.

    Hi there,
Roughly 6 months ago I purchased a set of the Creative S750 speakers. Upon reading the various horror stories, precautions were taken to ensure longevity. The speakers have also never exceeded half volume.
It looks like this still hasn't put off the inevitable. Recently the front and center channels have become muffled, upon inspecting further I was taken to the conclusion it was most likely the sound card. However, after removing the X-FI and activating the onboard audio it seems the issue still remains. The front channels sound bassy with no tweeters.
Notably, headphones that are plugged into the control pod sound fine, which would point to the preamp and main amps being ok.
The speakers are only a few months old, and they have most certainly never been abused. What could be the issue that is causing the muffling of the front speakers?
Nevermind, I found out exactly what this is, I'll leave this post for anyone else that has encountered this issue.
On further inspection of the faulty speakers, it turns out that the crossover circuit inside the speakers is the issue. The circuit itself would seem to be damaged. This could mean two things:
-This is not actually a brand new set of speakers, and they were damaged by the previous owner.
-The build quality of the speakers by the manufacturer is exceptionally poor.
-Also I observed that the internal shielding underneath the woofer is missing in 3 of the speakers which also goes to prove that they are a recon set.
I would normally expect neither of the above to be true after spending 360 on a BRAND NEW set of computer speakers and getting a refurbished set instead.
I hope this post will help anyone else experiencing this problem.

Hi there, I've had no problems with my sound system for 4 years until today. I hope someone can help. I have Creative X-Fi Extreme Gamer soundcard and S750 7.1 Giga Works. Years of great sound. Today I have no sound from my sub and muffled and low volume for the center front speaker.
All other speakers work perfectly. I switched the green an orange cables from the sound card and the sub with exactly the same results. I think this means the cables are okay. How do I tell if I got a defective sound card or sub? I suspect that either the amp or sub is defecti've but don't know for sure. If that is the case is it worth repairing or should I get another sound system? I can't seem to find the S750 for sale on Creative's website. Any advice will be greatly appreciated. Sincerely, tangone

  • Audigy 4 (Non Pro) and center channel surround sound - from 2 channel aud

Hi all,?Is there a way to have voice coming from the center speaker during TV programs like you could using an external receiver with Pro Logic? I can't for the life of me, get my Audigy 4 to do this. I run MCE 2005 on a couple of machines in the house. On my other machine, with built in audio, I let the Purevideo decoder handle this and I get? a nice surround, complete with center channel voice on it while watching TV. On the machine with the Audigy 4, not only will it not give me the center channel while watching TV, but I can't get it to stop processing the sound so that I can simply use the decoding of the Purevideo Decoder... Stumped!?Thanks,?Stu

  • Putting sound in both channels

I shot a video using a mic that only recorded in the left channel. How do I put sound in the right channel, as well? I this something I select when exporting the movie? If so, do I select "mono" or "stereo"?
    thanks.

    Hi
    I did as follows.
    • Select all video clips
    • Advance menu -> down to Extract Audio
    • Share to QuickTime -> Expert mode and audio only as .aiff
    • Use a sound editor to mix-down to mono: I got Audacity - (free) to
    do this.
    • Save as audio .aiff
    • Import this into iMovie and mute the other audio tracks.
    Done
This can also be done - with GarageBand - But I've not done it that way.
    Yours Bengt W

  • No Sound on Right Channel - Audigy Notebook Z

    Hey.
One day, after nearly a year of perfect use and harmony, my lovely audigy notebook ZS stopped giving me sound on the right channel. I tried changing all of the settings and updating the drivers, but to no avail.
I then uninstalled the drivers completely, cleaned them with driver cleaner pro, then attempted to reinstall them by downloading them off of creative's support page.
However now the drivers will not reinstall.
    Please advise.
    Thank you.

I believe your friend can get it replaced, yes. All he needs is the iPod. If you'd like, you can also send it in: http://depot.info.apple.com/ipod/.

  • Airport Express only outputs sounds through left channel

Recently purchased a new airport express.
Sound is only audible through the left channel. Sound through the right channel is barely audible even at max volume (speakers and iTunes).
Speakers are fine (they work fine through the stereo, iPod earphones also only work through left channel).
If I turn sound enhance on and up to high, I can finally hear through the right channel, but only at about 40-50% of the left.
Is this a software issue, or bad hardware?
I've hard reset the airport express multiple times. Same issue whether wirelessly or connected via ethernet. This is running from iTunes 7 for Windows using a Linksys router.
      Windows XP Pro

Doesn't sound promising for the AX. Since it was
recently purchased, do you have the option to visit
your local Apple Store to either return it for
replacement or, at least, have them verify the
    problem?
The reason why I thought it might be software related was due to this effect of changing the sound enhancer, i.e by turning the sound enhancer on and setting it to high there was a considerable increase in sound output. If there was a loose connection somewhere I don't think I'd expect this behavior. It's almost as if the balance has been set all the way to the right.
Given that no-one seems to have seen this problem before (other than a unresolved single old post on the Airport Express board), it does seem that you're right and the AX needs replacing.

  • Audigy 2 zs surround sound through dual channel headphones ?

    < Hello,?
I've heard of virtual surround sound that the Audigy 2 zs can supposedly do. ?Does this mean that i can get surround sound out of regular dual channel headphones? i know it wont be true surround sound but the idea is that it will be something close to it right ?
if this is possible how do i set this up ?
    thanks for your help!

What happened is when you installed the new itunes 7 it messed around with all of your files for the sound check and as a result when u are using sound check your speakers will not work correctly (I just fixed this problem). To fix it, simply go into the edit menu, then preferences and then click on the playback tab. In that tab the third box you can check off from the top should be sound check. Simply uncheck that box and you should be fine.
    Good Luck

  • IPod touch audio issue: why do I only get sound from one channel in my ear-pods?

After upgrading my brand new iPod touch 5th generation to IOS 6.1.2 I only get sound from the right channel of my ear-pods.
I did not have this issue with IOS 6.1.1. Is this a problem derived from new IOS? Any idea on how to solve it?
    Appreciate your help!

Have you tried other headphones? If you confirmned it is an iPod problem:
    - Try cleaning out/blowing out the headphone jack. Try inserting/removing the plug a dozen times or so.
Try the following to rule out a software problem
    - Reset the iPod. Nothing will be lost
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup
    - Restore to factory settings/new iPod.
    - Make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store. Seems you have a bad headphone jack.
Apple Retail Store - Genius Bar
Apple will exchange your iPod for a refurbished one for this price. They do not fix yours.
    Apple - iPod Repair price
A third-party place like the following will replace the jack for less. Google for more.

  • Only sound in left channel

    MSI KT333 ULTRA2 BA   (onboard AC97)
I have a problem. Yesterday i noticed that i had only sound in the left channel.??  I checked my cables and speakers , used a discman and they where ok.
Installed new, old, different drivers but no changes, still only left channel. Ok format C and TOTAL reinstall....
but still only left channel works.
Im using my sblive now but i would rather be using the onboard  since its better for me.
    Any idea ??

i guess that youve tried other speakers and headphones and stuff.. it might be as simple as your onboard sound output might be damaged... if theres a glitch it usually results in only one speaker sound.. try gently to "swirl" the plug in the hole and see if you get 2 channel sound...
    well its worth a try

  • Sound from one channel only + Apple Support

    Hey,
I've had my 30 gig iPod 5G since February, and the sound only comes out of one ear (the right channel). To make the sound return on the left channel, i can do two things:
Pull the headphone jack out 2mm, but the music sounds much duller from both sides (I am not using any kind of case which prevents me from putting the headphones fully into the jack)
    Or
Squeeze the ipod just below the bottom right corner of the screen.
Either of these 'solutions' didn't seem acceptable to me, so i can onto this forum to see what people have done. I then ordered apple online service for me to return the iPod. I put in the online notes about my problems with the iPod thinking that I would get a new one (like the previous similar problems).
I get my original iPod returned a few days later with some A4 sheets saying that there was 'No trouble found on iPod' and the diagnostic tests all went ok.
So... where does this leave me now? Do i send the iPod back, only for them to send it back to me unrepaired?
What can i say to apple to get them to look at my ipod a little more thoroughly??
    Thanks in advance
30gig Black iPod Video   Windows XP

    hey,
    much happier now!
managed to 'fix' my ipod myself! instead of holding the ipod together just below the screen, i squeezed a bit harder than i should have and the sound now comes out of both sides!
Who needs Apple support when brute force will fix anything!
if you're willing to do it, than i'd try squeezing the ipod front and back sides between the screen and 2 o'clock on the wheel.
    hope that helps

  • Playing different sound, left right channel

    Hi,
Basically what I'm trying to do is to play 2 different sound files (.wav) in stereo, but through different channels.
sound file A - left sound channel
sound file B - right sound channel
These files should be playing at the same time.
If this is not possible, is it possible with 2 soundcards?

  • Sound problem - Terrestrial channels OK, NTL channel problem

Can someone please help. I have a MEGA 180 with Windows XP installed. All works ok except when I view TV, either through media center or MSIPVS, all the terrestrial channels (BBC1, 2, ITV, CH4/5) work well with picture and sound. When I flick channel to watch NTL, I get picture but just a clicking sound. The TV tuner card is using the antenna output from the back of the NTL set-top box,

  • Lost sound on some channels

On about 3 channels I no longer get sound.  Two of the channels show the video with no sound permanently.  the third shows video without sound for 10-15 seconds then goes to a screen that says "Currently Unavailable".  Any suggestions?

I have a same problem.  The solution I found is that you have to turn off the box and turn in on in a few seconds.  If this doesn't work, I completely shut down the box (remove it from outlet) and let it wait for a minute.  Then put it to outlet, turn it on and wait till everything downloads.  It works.  Of course it a pain to do it, but I think it is more pain to call customer service.
