3310 Firmware Mangled?

Running under "dirty power" while in probable scanning mode, our 3310 connected via dual controller configuration to a Sunfire 490 was power cycled.....a few times........
First it started losing state. The 3310 could not retain via a format command the sd.conf set. to match the setup configuration. Or we didn't see what was clearly set and accessible before the power reset in the configuration.
No errors appeared via either the sccli or the hardware management RS232/telnet access. NVram was supposedly completely saved.
I removed and rebuilt the configuration and again could still not see the 3 choices for the 3310 to format that were setup as RAID 1+0 64MB slices.
I didn't get a chance to do too much here, since it would suddenly start denying access via telnet or even RS232 access.
All things being as they are, I had other projects concurrently....
At next accidental reboot, while on my project "back burner" the 3310 started to show the controller as two SECONDARIES as if one of them were failed.
I updated the sccli to 2.3 in preparation for firmware update to 4.15 (for 3510) [it's 3.5 now] under Solaris 10 via the script upgrade process described in the Sun 3310 Management Upgrade document.
At next accidental dirty power weekend reboot (we live in AZ where the Thunder/Lightning is frequent) we could not access via the sccli for the password. We could not and still cannot login directly to the management portal and cannot access via cu terminal. sccli let's me access, but I can't even save all of the configuration to a file -- it repeatedly asks me for a password and returns empty sections. I can change the password, but it does not change the password for the RS232 term or telnet access? I am accessing by passing the IP and password to the sccli application?
HELP HELP HELP HELP!
1) I need a 3310 password reset procedure?
2) I need information pertaining to whether we need to replace the FRU now? Many documents clearly state that the controller failed through power reset or other anomolies must be replaced at about $3,000?
3) The known problems with the 3310 firmware state problems such as these, but not any really clear resolution other than upgrade and patch (as usual). Any other help from your experiential base would be appreciated?
Thanks very much!

OKAY. Forget the question above. I found some the Configuration User Guide that will help me set up RAID and Logic Drives.
BUT I still can't see all 24 hard disk (12 hard disk on each array) using the Quick Install Guide for "Connecting Cables for Single Bus Configuration." I can see 12 hard disk on channel 0 and 6 hard disk on channel 2. When I do a show disk, I get

  • 3310 RAID + 3310 Expansion + SunFire 440 Question?

HI all, I am new here.
I just set up my first SunFire 440 database server with one 3310 RAID (12 x 36GB) controller and one EXPANSION (12 x 36GB) controller.
I am using the Ultra3 SCSI PCI card (with the most recent drivers). Updated solaris 9 patch cluster. Updated 3310 firmware (I think it is 325W or something like that) and patches. Single Bus setting where one 3310 is used for expansion and the other used for RAID. The set up is just like the "Quick Install Guide" in Single Bus setting. The two 3310 arrays were used.
Question: How do I reset each 3310 disk array config? is it the sccli "reset nvram" command?
I can only see one 3310 when I do the sccli command. It does not give me the option to select the 2nd 3310 (therefore I wasn't able to upload the new 325 firmware). I don't think my servers see it. When I run the ssconsole, it only sees one 3310. Where is my 2nd 3310? I am thinking that I messed up with the physical SCSI connections in the rear panel of the 3310 for single bus in RAID and EXPANSION setting. Can someone tell me how they set it up or tell me what I am doing worng? Or Could it be the /kernel/config (something like that) where I add the LUN number... can someone tell me what that is for? Is LUN only for FC or can SCSI use it to?
    Thank you for your time.

  • Firmware upgrade for Nokia 6280

I would like to know do we have firmware upgrade for Nokia 6280 as my present one is 3.65 and would like to upgrade it to 5.92 and I am in India
Could you please help me out.

updating to new firmware depends on product code which represents your region of purchasing, language pack and if it's branded or not .... so NOKIA releases firmwares and release it for every product code depending on mentioned points
you can check for updates @ :
    http://mea.nokia.com/support/download-software/device-software-update/can-i-update
To find what the latest available device software is, you’ll need your device’s product code. The code is printed on the white label beneath the battery (e.g. CODE: 0520001).
if your phone is branded with an operator, that means that you should go to the operator care center and ask them, not NOKIA
some updates delay in some countries variant product code, as it requires more effort to add language pack to it like "example. China Japan Korea" or it needs the country to approve it due to its policy

  • Firmware upgrade Nokia 5230 - SLOW device!

I see that the device 5233 had an firmware upgrade availibe from 12.1.089 to 12.1.092. This upgrade is now not availible for the nokia 5230. This device is much slower than the 5233 and 5800.
Is there a way to make this upgrade also soon availible for the nokia 5230? Because this device has now only the firmware version 12.1.089

try to uninstall them and re-install on memory card not phone memory
it's the reason if you installed these apps on phone memory
+ change the messages to be stored on memory card not phone memory

  • Photosmart 3310 on network is always offline.

I have a Photosmart 3310 connected to an ethernet LAN. I set it to a fixed IP of 192.168.0.151 It's connected to a 10/100 switch.
To start with it worked perfectly, I could print to it from all the PCs on the LAN, which are running XP Pro. But today the printer refuses to tell the network it is online, thus no jobs will print to it.
I can enter the printer's IP in a web browser and access the built in configuration, so there is two-way network communication going on.
Just tried something else, with the printer on, I booted up one of the PCs that was off. On *that* PC the 3310 shows up as being online and can be printed to. Turn the printer off and its status stays "online" when it should change to offline - just like my LaserJet 2100tn and Color LaserJet 2500 on the same network switch do.
Next, shut down the other PC with the 3310 off, then boot up again, then turn the 3310 on and... that PC can see the printer is online.
What's the problem?!?! Two PCs, both running XP Pro SP3 all up to date AND using the exact same printer driver I downloaded from HP, but one of them cannot see when the printer is online - but can directly access its built in web browser configuration.
I tried once before to get this printer on a network and had the exact same problem, a short time after setting it up, it just quit working on the LAN, no amount of uninstalling and reinstalling and reconfiguring would make it work, so I connected it by USB to the PC it refused to tell it was online, then shared it.
Is there a firmware update for this printer? Current version is R0043xxNx

My guess is it is the switch that is causing the issue.  Can you plug the printer directly into the router?
Also, download and run this utility: http://h20180.www2.hp.com/apps/Nav?h_pagetype=s-926&h_lang=en&h_client=s-h-e17-1&h_keyword=dg-NDU&ju...
    What does it say?
Say thanks by clicking "Kudos" "thumbs up" in the post that helped you.

  • N80 firmware upgrades (how?)

    Hello,
There has been some discussion here about the N80 firmware. My N80 is orange and suffers from a few issues. Firstly the web browser is pretty much useless for me, out of memory errors on almost every page. Relatively frequent out of memory errors in Gallery whilst attempting to play a video taken with the camera. Snakes is not playable it crashes out as soon as you actually try to start the game.
I'm wondering how firmware upgrades are peformed with a network like orange? I presume Nokia service centres wouldn't do this because of the altered firmware for the network.
I'm in the UK if it makes a difference.
    Thanks,
    Richard

Yep, but it's a pain to do as you have to keep backing up on the PC every time you get a new contact.
Is that an N95 in your pocket or are you just pleased to see me?!?
Life's too important to take seriously.
    Nokias I've owned 3210, 3310, 6100, 7650, 6600, 6680, 6630, N80, N95
    I'm a 26 year old boy BTW

  • N80 new firmware release date and wishlist

It has been no update on firmware since the latest release V.5.0719.0.2 for N80 since 24 May 2007. With so many models rolling out and firmware revision released for other new and old models, one might wonder if N80 is being forgotten and the firmware revision is put on-hold forever in cold storage?!
There has been so much discussion on the expectation for last firmware release but what we get is only product stability without signficant boost of functionality and performance. I believe this has made many proud owner of N80 phone waiting with a long neck.
After reading through the forum, I have summarised some of the common expectation on the next release (hopefully) in a wishlist below. All is welcome to provide input on the improvement they expect in next firmware release. It is also hope that any status of firmware upgrade for N80 news to be shared here.
    The N80 new firmware wishlist
    i) AD2P bluetooth profile support
ii) Nokia Maps application support (currently, N80 is not support model for Nokia Maps application)
iii)Enhanced digital music player (similar with N73 ME with album art browsing)
iv) Music file IDD tag editing (change artist, song title, genre information)
    v) Video ringtone
    vi) Skype VOIP support
vii)Mymobilesite.net intergration for seamless moblogging interface
viii)Auto birthday reminder storing from Contact entry
Thats all I can think of for now.
    was: 3310--> N80 v5.0719.0.2--> N82 v31.0.016; now: 5800xm v40

    Hi Jacob,
Thanks for your quick response but if you go to the download section of Nokia Maps, N80 is not listed for selection on Nokia Maps setup file download. It is obvious that the compability page does show N80 is supported but which setup version to choose? I myself have Nokia Maps installed previously. But I believe there are new feature and interface in the latest version of Nokia Maps.
Yes, mymobilesite.net is available for N80, but perhaps the new firmware can include it in the new firmware release to save other the hassle to install
    something to add:
ix) HSDPA mobile internet surfing speed (3.5G?)
    was: 3310--> N80 v5.0719.0.2--> N82 v31.0.016; now: 5800xm v40

  • Nokia 6500c - New Firmware, please!

This is the message I was trying to send through the "Feedback" page in Nokia.com, but it doesn't work! Very strange. So I'm posting it here and hoping that maybe this message will reach Nokia themselves.
Hello, I own a 6500 classic. I can say I'm really happy I got it, although it was a bit expensive for me. I enjoyed it from the minute I got it, first of all, because it's really nice looking, comfortable to use and work with. It's my first high class Nokia phone - I've had 3310, 6030, 1110i and finally the 6500c. I'm a Nokia fan :-) However, I think, I could give you some personal ideas about the performance of the phone, and what could be fixed and done better, after all, there's always room for improvement and Nokia, as a leading mobile phone manufacturer, strives for perfection.
Just to make sure, I have the RM-265 type, 42.02 variant, V 03.21.
One thing for sure, that could be included in the firmware update, I think, could be management of the display: the user should be able to change the contrast and backlighting, in order to save some battery time. The other thing, why not include a "screen off" type of screen saver? I find the current system quite ineffective: if you do set (any) screensaver on and lock the keypad or don't do anything, it, of course, turns the screensaver on, but then, after some minutes turns into the little "overview" box that slides from place to place showing Time and Date, you know, and the display automatically turns itself off after just some 15-20 mins more. Now, I really find the "Analogue clock" screensaver beautiful, but then it turns into the not-so-nice little box previously mentioned. So I now use the phone with screensaver off in order to get the box from the beginning, as a screensaver. So, in all, Menu-Settings-Display-Screensaver-Screen off (timeout to set, too) would be great.
Other problems - you have to click twice to move down on contact list after searching (ie, type R and press down twice to get to the second person one the list rather than once)
    - Menus After saving a setting or discarding a setting, the phone will return to a random menu, not the related menu
    - Call / Green button - Displays call log as opposed to "Dialled calls"
    - This might not be a firmware/software issue, but the quiet places in MP3s (when played through the speaker) come out "scratchy" and not nice and pleasant to hear at all! Also, one can't listen to classical music on the speaker at all - too quiet and scratchy, as I said! That's the most disappointing bug. Maybe it's just my phone, but I've heard other people saying this is happening with their devices as well.
Thanks a lot, hope to see a firmware update for 6500c soon!
    Sincerely,
    Vytenis

does anyone have any idea hoe to download new software for the 6500c using a windows vista pc? Oh! what about the fact that after you have missed a call, received a message that the phone initially alerts you the one time;and if you don't get it;you are alerted no more.Thats not good.I guess if you don't here the phone ring the first time, then you are just **bleep** out until you have a reason to pick up the phone and then see that you missed a call or received a message.

  • The next firmware for N97

Nokia, I know you guys read this blog about the biggest disappointment in the History of Nokia (the N97). I want an exact release date of the next firmware and exact list of what is being done.. I cannot stand this RAM and C drive issues on this device.. I am using my n95-3 because N97 is not stable, not capable of multitasking, etc etc etc etc etc etc etc! I will soon trash it and record a video, or smash it on the wall.. The feeling of Smashing this phone on a wall well worths the 700$. Only reason I am not doing it because I am hoping The next firmware will give me at least 70mb free ram on boot and will clean up C drive from unwanted apps (adobe, jouki, boingo etc............. And therefore will give me at least 50mb free C!) P L E A S E list here nokia what is being worked on so i don't waste my time and totally switch back to my n95-3.

I wish people wouldn't blame the poor phone, when they don't read the manual properly. TURN OFF WLAN AUTO SCAN for goodness sake. Set the "default" access point in "WEB" to "Ask when needed", then choose whatever access point you want when you use the thing after you've left the house.
    Jeez!

This is my interpratation of this problem.
(Connectivity>Destinations> Access Points) This is where you set up access to the internet and you prioritise your available connections i.e I have WLAN Priority1 and Orange Internet Priority 2 setup under an access point called INTERNET, I have therefore made this access point called INTERNET my default access point therefore I expect the phone to automatically connect to Orange Internet when my WLAN is out of range because Orange Internet is available everywhere I go. Isn't this what this feature is meant to be doing???????????????????????
Hey 2bad am I right or am I wrong?

Yes!!! ...and another thread. I also bought my device from amazon, not branded and for much money. And Yes!!! I'm also waiting for the upgrade.
On the one hand Nokia 's Informatin is: "Neuestes Software-Release für Nokia N97 ist 20.0.019"
(and there is also the firmware 21 out)
And for the PC 0586701 they say "Latest available software for  Nokia N97, product code
    Version:  12.0.026"
    What the f***???
Once I was a satisfied customer and this is my 12th Nokia deivice. The expensivest is the N97. But it's the device with the worst service. It will be my last Nokia and maybe I should better switch to Apple'S iPhone.

The question is whether or not to upgrade the firmware. Since the current firmware is so old (version 3.x) there seems to be special instructions to bring it to 4.x, and eventually 4.15G. Which would include OS patches as well. (117171-12).
Or, just carry on, since this has only happened once (during the last billing run) in the last 9 runs/months.

What is the difference between the host/drive channel? Besides the fact that they are their for connecting to disk drive or to host. Because lets say I connect the first RAID controller to the second one, host-to-host configuration from one RAID to another, will the host see this transparently?
By the way, I tried the JBOD method you mention so basically just connect one of the RAID unit to the other one just as a JBOD and the RAID controller can see the disks on a difference channel but only half of the disk because the RAID I/O actually have internal conneciton to half of the disk, while the other half is jumper.

  • StorEdge 3310 Slowness and "Memory Not Sufficient" Error

    Hello,
I have a 3310 single-controller array who's LUN inexplicably became incredibly lethargic a couple of days ago. I checked the controller's event log and have the following message: "Controller WARNING: memory not sufficient to fully support current configuration". And it takes several minutes to perform any inquiry within sccli.
I found a Sun Doc 201253 that referenced Bug ID 6382051 for the 3510 with pre-4.21 firmware, but nothing that spoke of the 3310. I even followed the instructions from that Doc and disabled FTP, but nothing changed. The 3310's firmware is completely up to date (done last summer). This is on a high-usage system so we're still discussing the scheduling for a controller reset (to clarify -- NO reset/reboot has been attempted yet), but I wanted to see if anyone has any ideas or has seen this before? Thanks!
    - Dion

    Start at the beginning..
At the obp prompt do you see the array and all disks via a probe-scsi-all?
If yes, then the hardware would appear to be ok.
At the OS, are the additional logical devices being created review via devsfadm -c disks; devfsadm -al
Is the qus driver loaded, via modinfo
Is the qus patch loaded via showrev -p |grep patchid
Does the scsi loop, ie. cable lenght comply with SCSi loop rules > less than 10m I think
Is it JBOD array or do you have raid controllers, if raid controllers have you physically configured the Luns on the array?
Is it a single loop configuration, if so have you got the loop cable to connect one half of the array to the other?
If the answer is yes to all then format should be correct.

  • Server Error in '/' Application. WRT54GL Mangling traffic?

Okay, here goes.  Maybe someone can help me understand this behavior and what I might be able to do to fix it.
I run both wired and wireless at home, a netgear 10/100/1000 workgroup switch in my room for multiple PC's and a fileserver.  Connected directly to a WRT54GL.  Which is connected to one other PC, and provides wireless service for 2 Laptops, a PSP, a DS, and a few other devices.  So, here's the issue.  This linksys is relatively new (picked it up less than a month ago.)
A few random sites, I come across an error basically stating "Server error in '/' application."  One fine example is http://www.ntreev.net (a site that provides a game service i actively play.)
This is the most prominent, as I used to regularly visit that site.  Now, since installing my WRT54GL, I can't even visit the site without that error.  Luckily, I still have the forums/etc bookmarked.  But any account maintenance, logging in, or even trying to view the updates for games, all result in that error.   For the curious, here's what I have tried so far... :
Turn off SPI/Firewall protection : Still no go.
Filter NAT Redirection : No go.
Disable all VPN/IPSEC passthru (of course not entirely relevent) : No go.
Add my PC to DMZ and disable anything for my NAT ip : Nope there too.
Plug directly into the router, bypassing the netgear 10/100/1000 switch in my room. : Nope ...
Rebooting all of the network equipment, and PC's still cause the behavior.
Laptop on wireless or wired directly to the router : Nope ... I'm seeing a pattern here.
Remove router entirely, plug PC directly into Surfboard cable modem.  It works perfectly.
What is this router doing to my outgoing web traffic that's causing this.  I dropped 50$ on something that is mangling traffic and I've no way to fix it.  I've upgraded to the latest firmware, and it did nothing to help me.  All that did was cause me to have to set up mac filters for the wireless(again,) and more.
I've been playing with options here and there for 2 weeks, in combination, to see if there's anything I can do to remedy this, but it's all a no go.
Anyone have any ideas that may help?
    Thanks in advance,
    Chris
(Just a note :  I tried my old netgear, and it worked fine, only problem with that is it locks up regularly, and loses settings on restart/power cycles, so I replaced it with a fairly well reviewed box.  So I know its not my switch, and its not my cable modem, nor any part of my network, except the WRT54GL... as things work without it in the equation.)
Message Edited by Fury216 on 07-13-2009 06:14 AM

    Hello,
Thanks for the reply (again,) and sorry I couldn't get back here for a while...
I couldn't do this for a while because I had exams and projects online that I absolutely had to finish this week, so last night I broke down and decided to look at things a bit more.
I went ahead and reflashed it with the current (latest) firmware,  directly from : http://www.linksysbycisco.com/US/en/support/WRT54GL/download , chose my version, 1.1 and installed it.
I reset my router, repeatedly already, but did it once more.  I didn't configure all of my options, but got it online at least.  (Didn't want to bother entering all the mac addresses for wireless access again at the moment.)
Same behavior,  I am starting to really get frustrated with this as anytime I want visit this site (which is quite a bit ...), I have to go unplug my modem, unplug my router, plug my PC's network cable directly in the modem, and plug it back in, in which case I can get to it just fine.  Then when I'm done and have no need to be on that site for a while, I can put everything back normally.  But for any account maintenance, web based stuff (games, etc), and more on there, I have to physically remove my linksys from the network in order for it to function.
I am seriously at a loss with this, as it's been more than 30 days since I've bought this network problem (my WRT54GL), and therefore can't return it now.  Anyone have any more ideas/options ?
    Thanks

I am really dissapointed with the efficiency of Nokia and I have been a Nokia User since year 2001 (Nokia 3310) and I have bought more than 20 different model. I hope Nokia should take my request into consideration and release it quickly for the APAC region as EURO had their firmware upgraded already. My phone product code is 0554833.
