350 bridge

I've got got 1500's deployed with a controller. What I need is bridge set-up over at a construction sight with a camera. I have a left over 350 bridge and repeater. So far I have not been able to get them to attach to the 1500. They will attach to a 1200 with noproblem.
I've entered the Mc in the controller, in same sub-net, and checked the encryption.
Looked around for info on this, but time is short as always.

Hi Thomas,
I think that you are running into the following;
Q. Are the Cisco Aironet 1500 Series Mesh APs interoperable with other Cisco Aironet APs? What are the Cisco devices that are compatible with mesh APs?
A. No. The Cisco Aironet 1500 Series is Lightweight Access Point Protocol (LWAPP)-based and does not interoperate with Cisco IOS Software-based Cisco Aironet Wireless Bridges or APs that exist. However, it does interoperate with all LWAPP-based APs and WLAN controllers.
From this good Q&A doc;
http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/hw/wireless/ps430/products_qanda_item09186a0080094d01.shtml#aps
Q. Is the Cisco Aironet 1500 Series compatible with the Cisco Aironet 1400 Series and Cisco Aironet 1300 Series?
A. The Cisco Aironet 1500 Series is LWAPP-based and will not interoperate with autonomous Cisco Aironet wireless bridges or access points such as the Cisco Aironet 1400 Series and the Cisco Aironet 1300 Series in autonomous mode. In addition, it will not bridge to the Cisco Aironet 1300 Series in lightweight mode because in lightweight mode, the Cisco Aironet 1300 Series operates only as an access point (and not a bridge). The Cisco Aironet 1500 Series will, however, co-exist in the same WLAN as a Cisco Aironet 1300 Series in lightweight mode (for example, within the same wireless LAN controller or across multiple controllers within the same mobility group), allowing a wireless client to roam seamlessly between the Cisco Aironet 1500 Series and 1300 Series Access Points.

  • Aironet 350 Bridge associations

    Hi,
I have 2 aironet 350 bridges that keep disassociating and then reassociating constantly. Is there any way to stop this form happening?

Parent is "Root Bridge", end station is "Non-root bridge w/out clients." Thanks for pointing me to the Express setup page--that's the one I had in mind, but I haven't been there since day one. Now I need to figure out why, with those settings, it's allowing client connections...
The only MAC address filtering I see is (per documentation) "allow or disallow the forwarding of unicast or multicast packets either sent from or addressed to specific MAC addresses." When I look at the actual Address Filters page, it only allows me to specify "Dest Address." Not much help if I don't want to allow other connections *to* the bridge...
When I'm not in Express Setup, and go to the Setup page, I have the option at the bottom of the page (Network Ports | Bridge Radio or Network Ports | Root Radio) to go to an Advanced page. While there, I see a field called "Radio Cell role." The Root Radio Advanced page shows the Radio Cell role as "Access Point / Root." The other options would be "Client/Non-root" and "Repeater/non-root." The Bridge Radio Advanced page shows the role as "client/non-root." I am *assuming* that the Root radio here, although called an "access point" is not an access point for clients (i.e., its role is that of the access point for the far end(s) of the bridge).
I can't find anyplace to stop broadcasting the SSID...
    Thanks for the help!

  • Cpu load on 350 bridge

    Hi,
any idea to monitor the cpu load on a 350 bridge? (snmp, telnet, ..)

  • 350 Bridges VOIP Setup

Can someone tell me if this setup will work and give priority to Voice?
    Building A
    350 Bridge
    3550 Switch
    Building B
    350 Bridge
    2924 Switch
I will want to prioritize voice over the link between the 2 buildings. The customer will be using an Avaya IP phone switch. There are only about 10 users in building B. If I configure VLANS and QOS on the bridges and the 3550 switch, will this solution work? Thanks

Take a look t the following document tht talks about configuring QoS for Voice on 350 devices, my be this will give you a better idea.

  • Associate 350 Bridge with 1242 acting as Bridge

Is it possible for a 350 Bridge configured as a non root bridge to associate with a Cisco 1242 acting as a root bridge?

FYI.. 350 ans 340 series are EOS/ EOL
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/prod/collateral/wireless/ps5678/ps458/prod_end-of-life_notice0900aecd805fee16.html
is 350 running VXvorks or IOS?? I guess we can, hvnt tried though.. if it runs..  then 350 bridges works on 11 mbps...b radio...so for it to work with 1240...1240  needs to set basic rate to 11 mbps that is b radio..
lemme know if this answered your question..

  • 350 Bridge WEP Security

I have a 350 Bridge to Bridge configuration.
    Root Bridge & Non-Root Bridge W/O Clients
I want the communication between these (2)
    bridges to be secure.
    How do I configure WEP?

Here is where I would suggest starting
    http://www.cisco.com/univercd/cc/td/doc/product/wireless/airo_350/350brdgs/brscg/index.htm for wireless bridge configurations
to set up wep look under security setup section
best of luck It should be pretty straight forward
    PS
make sure you have bridge's set to root without clients and non-root without clients if only using wep in a point to point

  • Aironet 350 Bridge

Can you configure Bridge to work in a full duplex mode?

... or gang 2 or 3 350s together and load balance.
each one will still be half-duplex, but the potential for 2 or 3 to be tied up transmitting without receiving at the same time will be reduced.
Plus the aggregate pipe is 22 or 33Mbps nominal.

  • Monitoring Aironet 350 Bridge Link Signal Strength

    Hello,
Does anyone have ideas/examples on using SNMP to query 350 series bridges to obtain running data on signal strength & quality? I would like to use something like MRTG to monitor signal strength, along with link usage.
Looking through the MIB files (especially ftp://ftp.cisco.com/pub/mibs/v2/AWCVX-MIB.my)
it looks like awcDot11TpFdbLatestRxSignalStrength is what I'm after, however I cannot see how to properly reference this. When I walk the tree from 1.3.6.1.4.1.522.3.12 it doesn't seem to list the relevant values.

  • 350 Bridge thinks it is a 340

I upgraded my 350 series Wireless Bridges to 12.03T, one of them is working fine, the other says:
**PCMCIA Card in Socket 0 is not recognized
**Failed to load driver for device entry #2
when it boots up and the wireless interface is not showing up under Network ports or the setup page. Also in the bottom left area it says "Cisco BR340 12.03T" instead of "Cisco 350 Series 12.03T" like my other one. unfortunately I dont have a service contract on it, so I am hoping it is easy to troubleshoot.

    Can anybody help?

  • 350 Bridge vs 1200 AP

We have a simple setup of one 350 connected to another 350 at a remote site. We then replaced the 350s with 1200 aps. Data works fine over the access points, but the voice (7940s) wont work at all. In reading some of the other posts, it seems that you have to configure the voice vlan on the AP and associate it with the SSID. What I dont understand is that the 350s had no form on VLAN configuration at all so why would the 1200 AP need VLAN configuration?
If the AP do need VLAN configuration, do you then create two SSIDs, one for data (one VLAN) and then another for voice (voice vlan). Then do you associate each SSID with that VLAN? If this is correct, then how will the computers know to use the data VLAN?
I then read on another way where you put the data on the native vlan and then the voice on one vlan. You still have to associate the native vlan with a SSID and then the voice vlan with another SSID though, correct? Again, why do you have to do all this on the 1200 APs and not the 350s?

When you need to segment your network into data and voice n/w you have to create one SSID for each network and use VLANs. One SSID can be associated only with one VLAN.

  • Bridge 350 root and no root security ?

    Hi,
i have 2 point to point bridge 350,
    and only wep is active,
i know how to make radius with AP 1100 and client (pcmcia)
I want to know how i can secure my point to point connection. root --> no root
Is possible to set root on radius serveur and to set the no root for authentification on the root ?
    Please help me.....

    Dear Sir
    http://www.cisco.com/univercd/cc/td/doc/product/wireless/airo_350/350brdgs/brscg/br350ch8.htm#1053765
Above url shows how to configure bridge link for leap .
    I hope this helps .
On Non root you can enter username and password which will be authenitcated by ACS on on root side
On 350 bridge runs vxworks so we do not have radius
    build in .

  • Aironet 350 configuration to Aironet 1300

Is it possible to download an ini configuration from an Aironet 350 bridge, convert it and upload it to an Aironet 1300 bridge?

  • Need help on Aironet 1300 bridges

    Greeting,
We have just upgraded two Aironet 1300 bridges (from cisco 350) on two buildings about 100 yards apart. They are only running as bridges. One is set up as root bridge and another one is setup as non-root bridge. Root bridge is in the main building direct connect to Cat 4506. For some reason the root bridge has some intermittant problem connect to the network. We are running the IOS 12.3(8). We changed the cable but the problem still occured. Everytime we have to reboot the root bridge in order to get it back. but all the interfaces in the root bridge show " up / up" prior to reload. The "show tech" looks fine on the root bridge. Any suggestion? Shall I change root bridge to workgroup bridge?
    really appreciate for any helps,
    Gene

    Hi Steprodr,
I just need to clearify that the power injector is on the non-root bridge? I think the power are fine on both bridges when the problem occured. We used cisco 350 bridges before the upgrade. So the cable and port are still remain the same. The problem is more going towards from root bridge come back to Cat 4506 because both root and non root bridges can ping each other when the problem occured.
    thanks,
    Gene

  • Software tools to test bridge performances

I'd like to know if these is any sotware tool to check performance in a building to building connection (with aironet 350 bridge).
Now I'm timing the transfer of big files from a bridge to the other, but I want to find a more powerful tool (if possible not too expensive).
If someone already uses a software to test connection performance please inform me.
    Thanks

You should take a look at MRTG and RRDTool. MRTG is free to use (so not too expensive). You can find info here:

  • Aironet 350 Failure...Twice

A couple of months ago, I installed three Aironet 350 Bridges, each connected to directional antenna via LMR400 cable. The directionals are pointed towards an access point at the front of the campus. After abou 36-48 hours of use, the ethernet ports on the bridges locks up, and actually dies in two of the instances. I figured that it was a bad group of bridges, so we replaced them with three more, only to have two of the replacements do the exact same thing. When the port crashes, the red light comes on and stays on, even after you remove the rj45 connector. Afterwards, you are unable to access the bridge via a browser, so there is little means of troubleshooting available. I haven't had a lot of luck with the reseller, and this customer has been down since March!!
Any help would be greatly appreciated

Aside from on-site consulting (possibly on a contingency basis), I can only suggest that you pull it all into a lab, check all the configs, upgrade all the firmware and confirm that it's reliable before putting it back in.
