3515 MCU: SCCP + H.323 simultaneously?

I'm confident the answer is yes, but I'd like confirmation:
Can a 3515 MCU be configured to support SCCP ad-hoc/meetme conferencing at the same time as H.323 dial-in conferencing?
Do resources need to be allocated to one or the other, or are they pooled, and available first-come, first-served?
Thanks!

That's exactly my question. Can I integrate with BOTH methods simultaneously.
I'm actually asking about the 3515, not the 3511. I'm not sure what differences they are.
I'd like my SCCP users to be able to use the ad-hoc conferencing, as well as providing H.323 conference numbers for meetme/pin-based.
Will the 3515 support both SCCP and H.323 simultaneously?
Thanks!

  • T.120 support on 3515 MCU

I'm not able to select the T.120 option within the services profiles on my 3515 MCU. The services are not SCCP enabled (SCCP isn't enabled on the MCU either) so I'm not sure what the problem is. Any suggestion is appreciated.

The Join Data Conference button on the MCU conference control page allows users to join T.120 data conferences from the computer running the conference control. This button is currently not available in version 5.0 and will be re-added in a later patch.

  • Integrating the IPVC-3515-MCU with Call Manager

I am looking for some help on how to integrate the IPVC-3515-MCU with Call Manager.
    Thanks

    Hi,
What is your CUCM ver? CUCM 7.x has a new feature where even if VCB is the first bridge in MRGL, if all parties are audio it will select an audio CFB instead of the VCB.
Now, if you don't have CUCM 7.x than please confirm that the VCB has the higher priority in the MRGL. The MRG with the VBC should be at the top of all other MRG (which have CFB in it) in the MRGL. If you have audio CFB and VCB in the same MRG than CUCM will select the least used conf bridge and this could be the audio CFB.
Try and keep the audio CFB and the VCB in different MRG so this way you can influence the priority of conf bridge in the MRGL. Also, make sure that the user who is initiating the conf has this MRGL.

  • 3515 MCU Video Scheduling

Does anyone have a screen shoot of the VideoConferencing manager on a 3515 MCU? Is it possible to integrate the manager to a users Outlook calendar? It says on the datasheet that there is an option to schedule video calls from an Outlook client but is this an integrated client or a standalone one for the MCU?
    Thanks

  • Help with MCU 3515 in SCCP with CCM 6.1

    Hi,
    I have CCM6.1 + MCU3515 configured for skinny only.
I want to have a multipoint videoconference between 3 SCCP video endpoints (7970+VTA).
If I try to make an adhoc conference, I only have audio, no video.
If I try to initiate the conference from the MCU, everything works fine.
12 videos ports are allocated to the SCCP protocol profile.
    MCU version is 5.5
Any idea on what could be the problem ?
    Thanx,
    Bastien.

Yes, it was simply a problem of regions and locations.
My locations wasn't well configured (no enough bandwith defined).

  • CUVC-M with 3515 MCU

We have recently begun to intall CUVC-M with a MCU 3515.  The MCU is connected to the CUVC-M server.  I can sechedule a meeting and get a meeting ID.  From other posts and install guides I am reading that we will be required to have an IOS gatekeeper in order to intergrate with our CUCM.  Is this correct or can someone direct me the correct way.  Thanks

  • IPVC 3515 MCU Call Rate Issue

We have implemented a 3515 that allows various types of devices to dial into the MCU successfully. There are three Polycom units also on the same LAN. The desire is to have them dial in at 768Kbps, but that does not work no matter what settings we try. They always negotiate at 448Kbps. They get H264 CIF/SIF. MCU is on 5.5.0.
When the Polycom units dial directly to one another they immediately pop to 768Kbps which is the expected behavior when they dial into the MCU.
Anyone come across something like this? TAC says to update software on everything and then collect logs, but before we do this I'd like to see if anyone might have an idea of what we might try.

You can configure the maximum call rate for audio and video. This is the maximum bit rate available for this service. This value represents the total bit rate of the voice, video and data streams combined, up to a maximum of 2 Mbps per call.

  • 3515 MCU 'Slow response'

    Hi,
We have a 3515 which responds really slowly when you http onto it (for admin etc). The processor averages 6-8% utilization but it takes up to 30 seconds to navigate between the tabs. it gets better after a reboot, but soon resorts to being 'slow' again quite quickly even if there are no conferences (it's a new installation which works OK but hasnt be rolled out yet). Running software version 5.5.0.0.54 - any help appreciated.
Also, noticed that I'm getting a 'Network Error' in the logs (I dont think the two problems are related) and anyone in a conference gets dropped.
    Cheers.
    Mark

Check your speed / duplex settings on both ports and on your switch. It sounds as if you are having a network between yourself and the 3515. If you plugged it into a port with VOICE qos configured you may want to turn that off, and just let the port play normally.

  • H.323 MCU 3515 as H.323 Gateway in CCM

    Hi,
I have a little bit confusion and i hope u can help me clear it up!!
In which cases the MCU 3115(H.323 enabled) is configured in CCM as a H.323 Gateway??
Plz help me to clear this up, i need help urgently.
    Thank you.

    Hi Mikheil,
Could u please inform if the call to the originating endpoint is released, before you get the "recovery on timer expiry message"??
Also, the restrictions on Call Redirection Web page requires IVR to be setup for this feature to work. Is this setup?? Could u give more explanation regarding the problem.
    thanks and regards,

  • Tandberg MX 990 MultiSite (embedded MCU) + VT Advantage?

Has anybody used a Tandberg MXP 990 with the MultiSite feature (embedded MCU) to join multiple MXP 990's and multiple VT Advantage stations into a call?
I figure it should work. The MX 990 is an H.323 endpoint to CallManager. Call signalling from a VT Advantage (SCCP) station will be converted by CallManager.
I'm trying to avoid purchasing a 3515 MCU today.
With this equipment, on CM 4.1.X, will I be able to "host" a conference on the MXP 990, by dialing into it?

    Thanks!

Yes, I've used the multisite functionality (embedded MCU) in the Tandberg MXP 990 for multipoint conferences with VTA clients. In my scenario, the H.323 MXP 990 device (code revision F4.1) was registered to a gatekeeper, and the SCCP (VTA clients) simply dialled the E.164 number of the H.323 device. The MXP 990 spots another incoming call and creates a conference. I did find that the MCU functionality wouldn't work through an IP-IP Gateway, but I haven't tried this with a more recent 12.4T IPIPGW release. Also, I didn't try the MXP registered as a native H.323 device in CallManager.
In its role as an embedded MCU, the device will be generating multiple audio and video RTP streams with the conference participants, so you should be mindful of the bandwidth requirements and the placement of the endpoint within the network. (The placement of dedicated MCU resources may be different to an embedded MCU within an endpoint, which will more likely be sited towards the network edge).

  • MCU and Gateway

    Hi all.
I have a Videoconferencing system with a 3515 MCU and a 3527 Gateway. The issue is that i cannot make conferences from H320 endpoints to MCU services through the gateway.
I am able to make point to point conferences betwteen h320 and h323 endpoints but not multiconferences.
    Can anyone help me?

If I understand your question properly, you are trying to invite an ISDN only connected endpoint by using the IP "invite" dialsting on an H.323 into a multipoint conference on the Polycom. If I'm misreading this, please correct. If this is the case, this is not possible to do. ISDN connected endpoints via a GW need to be dialed using the prefix and full e.164 dial string.
