35MM Camera for Black and White Photography.

What are good 35MM Cameras for black and white photography?

Pretty much any Canon, Nikon or Pentax old school film SLR should give what you want. I still have my old Canon AE-1 from 1982 and its still fully functional. Problem locally getting my hands on film now and developing is getting $$$ here.

  • Good graphics for black and white books?

Can anyone suggest a website where I can get good compostion ideas for black and white work, layouts for books? Actually I’m working on a book on house designs so would like to get ideas for visual layouts for the same, captions, blow-ups etc.The book would have 3d sketchup model views of different types of house designs.

Maybe a library or bookstore would be a better source, since you're designing a book.

  • Some how my Iphone 4 camera is black and white how do I get it back to color

My son was playing with my phone and now the camera is in black and white.  Does anyone know how to get it back to color

The phone does not do that on its own.  You actually need an app for that.  Try resetting the phone: press and hold the power and home buttons at the same time until you see the Apple logo.  Ignore the slider if you see it.  The phone will power down and up again.

  • Cant find settings for black and white prints using konica minolta bizhub 280 printer

I am having difficulty finding where to set our network Konica Minolta bizhub C280 printer to print black and white instead of colour from my macbook pro with OSX 10.8.2. I dont want to change the default printer settings, just change individual document print settings. Can anyone please assist me as to where and how to do this?

"How about under "Default Settings"? Is there a option for B&W printing?"
    No there isn't.

  • Setting default printer for Black and White

I have no problem setting up my printer to print black and white only using my pc, but am having difficulty setting the default for the printer on my OSX 10.5.2. I've read the posts and can't locate where this setting is done. I even removed the printer and tried readding it without any success. So, how do I set my HP Officejet to print in black and white as a default and allow me to print in color when needed?

You could use the built-in presets facility to make a b&w setting and a color setting. Then when you print, you simply select the appropriate preset. Also, the last preset that you use will be the default next time you print, so this can also help speed up your printing.
Reply if you need instructions for creating presets.
One final point. Some applications, such as MS Office, have a 'Print One Copy' printer icon in the toolbar. When you use this shortcut, the print dialog is not opened - the file simply prints. For these types of application, the preset is not used so that job will print in color if that is the default printer function. But you can change the toolbar icon function so that it opens the print dialog instead of just printing. Again, if you need instruction then please reply.

  • Cutting for black and white photo.

I am VERY new to this elements 6.0 . I am trying to convert color photo of a face but want to keep the eyes blue but can replace only one eye in the photo. Can anyone help me!!!!! Please!!!

    Christa,
It's not really clear what you are trying to do. I'm guessing you want to convert a color picture to black & white but retain the color eyes. If so, here is one way:
    1. Add a Hue/Saturation layer and move the Saturation slider all the way left to remove all color.
    2. Set the foreground/background colors to their default black & white values.
    3. Zoom way in to enlarge the eyes. With the Brush tool paint with black to reveal the color, with white to remove excess color. Type "x" to toggle between the black and white.

If that is not what you want to do, please explain further and what steps you took that you could do only one eye.

  • How to set camera to black and white??? help!!!

i used to be able to take b&w photos with my curve 3g but since sync'd with my computer there does't seem to be the b&w function anymore - please help!

    First, just to double check:
    1. click menu
    2. click camera
    3. click menu
    4. click options
    5. under color effect you should have a drop down menu to choose normal, black & white, sepia.
If you don't have this option, try removing the battery while the phone is ON. Then repeat steps above. I lost my ability to zoom and that fixed the problem also. Hope it works for you!

  • For black and white images in technical manuals, which format do you prefer?

So, I'm new at this company, and the person who is training me uses the EMF format for the images on the manuals.
Do you think a PNG file would be a better option for illustrations?

    > ... 90% of the manuals are digital (burned into a CD)
Presumably as PDFs, which the ends users then either view on line or print locally?
    > ... and 10% are printed in grayscale.
    On what type of press?
You probably want the images optimized for on-line viewing.
In the case of line art, this means staying in vector form, so that it scales cleanly, and using a stroke weight that is optimized for typical resolutions and convenience printing.
In the case of raster art, this means having enough resolution to maintain detail at reasonable zoom, and on convenience printers.
For vector, we normalize stroke weights to about 0.2 point, save as EPS and import the EPS. On Frame versions later than 7.x, PDF import might also be stable, and preserves vector as vector. SVG I haven't tested.
For raster contone (grayscale or color), avoid JPEG in the workflow. It is lossy and introduces artifacts. Never use it for screen shots or scans. Even if your camera image is JPG, convert it to an uncompressed form during edit and post-processing, such as PSD. Our target delivery resolution for contone is 200 dpi. This is slightly more than our press can resolve, but provides a bit of zoom for PDF viewing. We save the final images as EPS, and import those. TIF is also OK for this application (uncompressed). We select the compression level during PDF generation.
For bitmap images, again avoid JPG. We optimize these for 600 dpi (our press resolution), save and import them as TIF (EPS is really clumsy for bitmap).
EPS is a bit annoying to work with in Frame, as what you see during edit is a thumbnail or preview (72 dpi), but what renders to Ps or PDF is original vector or full raster. But EPS is fast, rock solid, and (if you need it) can preserve original CMYK color into the Ps or PDF.

  • Canon camera for action and sports photography?that holds auto focus and more than 7 shots burst

I have been using  the Rebel T4i.   I've learned that I like action photography.  The T4i sometimes misses the frame in burst mode that I would most like to capture..I shoot RAW so can usually get 7 shots a sec...also sometimes my best efforts are still in a soft focus, not crisp...Does anyone have some ideas for an up grade for me...

Just to verify something you may understand but have said incorrectly. The FPS for the 7D mark II is 10 but the BURST rate is listed at 31 RAW or 19 RAW + JPG. I'm just guessing here but I suspect it will also require very fast write speed memory cards to help keep things moving from the buffer to the card quickly enough to be ready for a second or 3rd burst when there's lots of action.
I shoot a lot of action (with a 1D4 but used to use a 7D) and you'd be surprised at just how quickly you can fill a buffer when things get busy.

  • When i try to print in black and white, my picture is flooded with blue ink

hi! I made sure all the printing settings were correct. I did a clean of the heads and made sure the inks were all full. I set the printer to print six by four inches and used hp advanced photo paper. I set the print to grey scale, as there is no settings for black and white.
when the picture came through, it started grey scale and further down the picture was flooded with blue ink. I have a all in one printer fax C309 series. can anyone help me please?
    This question was solved.

This seems like the printhead may have a problem. Lets go to printing preferences for the printer(these may already be set this way if so let us know). In this window on the left column of printing shortcuts lets choose Fast/Economical and set Print in Grayscale on the right to "Black ink only". If your setting was set to high quality try printing again. If you were already set to "Black ink only" under the Grayscale option the printer may require servicing.

  • Pixma printer adding color while trying to print black and white.

I've had this printer (Pixma MG5320) for about a year and a half now and recently noticed a problem with it.  I have been doing a lot of black and white photography lately (both digital and analog), and every black and white photo I print has some color fo it.  For instance I printed out a black and white digital picture I took recently that I edited using Nik's Silver Efex Pro.  Instead of the picture coming out black and white, it has an orange/red hue to it throughout the image, yet on my monitor it is void of all colors (except shades of black and white of course).   A few months ago I tried to print another picture, and it had a blueish/green hue printed throughout the picture as well.
I am printing all these photos via Photoshop, and even went into the settings to click on "grayscale printing" but the problem still persists.  The printer does this with both brand new ink cartridges and ones that have been used before.  I can't figure out if there is some odd setting in Photoshop that I may have accidently messed around with (though there really shouldn't be), or if it's an issue with the printer itself.  If I print a color photo, all the colors seem about right and I don't notice an off hue on any of them.
Does anyone know what could cause this?  I am just trying to troubleshoot the whole ordeal because it's gotten to the point where printing b&w photos is not in question until I figure this issue out.

  • Printing in Black and White problem

Everytime I want to print in black and white I choose that option, click ok, then print.  The paper still comes out in color.  This happens on my work computer and my home computer.  I know it is not the printer because I can print word documents and websites in black and white.  Only pdf files refuse to print in black and white.  I have 200 pages I need to print for work that does not have to be in color and I don't want to waste my ink.  Does anyone know what I can do to fix this problem?  Thanks.

You should make sure that anything on your interior pages is black and white, never trust someone else to convert things to B&W for you. If you are using a master page for the page numbers, that should be black and white too. You can have two master pages, one for color page numbers and one for black and white page numbers.
