360 to Cubic Panorama converters for PC

I want to experiment with HDR panoramas in After Effects. I know I can take 360 panoramas and use the CC Sphere effect with some expressions to get a skydome linked to a 3D camera in a scene, however it only works in 8 bit so I lose any chance of working with exposure in HDR files. There is Trapcode's Horizon which does work with HDR but I wasn't so comfortable with it.
There's a great set of tutorials by Carl Larsen on Creative Cow (called Building a Cube World) about using cubic panoramas in After Effects, which would allow me to work natively with HDR images and panoramas without any tools other than the standard ones that come with After Effects. However the usual methods for making panoramas are about creating 360 ones.
Has anyone come across any free plug-ins for Photoshop or PC based tools for converting 360 panoramas to cubic ones?
So far I've looked at Hugin, PTgui, the Panoguide website and Christian Bloch's site on HDR ( www.hdrlabs.com ) but not found what I'm after.

I'd still like to find something that converts 360 to cubic panoramas on a PC that I could afford to incorporate into my workflow.
I've only got the trial version of Horizon which I think is fully functional. There's nothing wrong with it but I just found myself uncomfortable using it. It might be that I'll end up going back to it as it is relatively cheap at £50 odd (GBP)! That said I felt uncomfortable with After Effects when I first started using it too, but now I love it! ;-)

Panoramic software for mac

Hi everyone,
I'm trying to find some panoramic software to stich or join photos together. In another thread https://discussions.apple.com/message/17427714#17427714 I've been informed that you can use other software with iphoto causing it no problems. However, panasonic (the make of my camera) don't supply it for the mac. I phoned their helpline and this guy there basically told me that I'll have to find some other software that isn't affiliated with panasonic. He suggested this to me http://hugin.sourceforge.net/ and told me that he uses it, although I'm not sure if he was just trying to get me off the phone. He said he thought iphoto had a panoramic function. I've searched these forums and I've gathered that they don't.
Does anyone know if there is an update of iphoto due soon that will include a panoramic function? If not, does anyone know of any good mac friendly panoramic software?

How to open the proper port for your xbox 360 on a NVG589 router for optimal online gaming

This took me a while to figure out on my own, so hopefully this will save someone else the trouble. My Xbox 360 said my setting were moderate. Step 1: In your internet browser, type this http://192.168.1.254 into your address bar Step 2: Click on the tab at the top that says Firewall Step 3: Click on the sub tab that says NAT/Gaming Step 4: In the drop down box located under the heading "Application Hosting Entry" Scroll down the option that says "XBox Live 360" and select it Step 5: In the second drop down box under the same heading find your Xbox 360's ip address and select it. If you don't know you Xbox's ip address it can be found on your console Network settings, select your connection, then select configure network, under basic setting will your ip address, remember that, Step 6: Click Add Step 7: Restart Xbox, everything should be running smoothly online Step 8: Profit!

Xbox 360 & WRT300N config (at least for wired)

(and with this setup (port forwarding), will the linksys prioritizer (part number OGV200) provide any more benefit?
1. Assign static IP, subnet mask, gateway and DNS on the Xbox 360.
a) Go to the System area of the Xbox Dashboard.
b) Select Network Settings.
c) Select Edit Settings to adjust your:
IP Settings (IP Address = 192.168.1.20, Subnet Mask = 255.255.255.0, Default Gateway = 192.168.1.1)
DNS Settings (Primary = 4.2.2.1, Secondary = 4.2.2.2)
2. Port forwarding
88 (udp)
3074 (tcp & udp)
a) Access the router's web-based setup page and click on Applications and Gaming tab.
b) Under Port Range Forwarding sub tab, we will enter two entries for us to forward the two ports.
First Entry
Name = Xboxa
Start = 88
End = 88
Protocol = UDP
IP Address = 192.168.1.20
Enabled = Checked
Second Entry
Name = Xboxb
Start = 3074
End = 3074
Protocol = Both
IP Address = 192.168.1.20
Enabled = Checked
c) Save the settings.
3. Still on the router's web-based setup page, click on Setup tab.
a) Set MTU from Auto to Manual.
b) Change the MTU size from 1500 (default) to 1365.
c) Scroll down and save the settings.
4. Power cycle. Unplug the power adapter of the router for 10 seconds and plug it back again.
5. On your Xbox 360:
a) Go back to the System area of the Xbox Dashboard.
b) Select Network Settings.
c) Select Test Xbox Live Connection.
d) After the system has completed its tests, select More Info to learn more about your network, paying close attention to any test that failed.

Im going to start tracking and editing in DP 4.5 and mixing and programming with logic pro... Im trying to figure out wich converters would do the best job for both of these apps. i basically need the lowest latency possible when tracking while still maintaining awesome sound quality... also the card must have adat ins. any ideas?

How to set up panoramic picture for locked or home screen on iPhone 5 ios 7.1.1?

I tried setting up a panoramic picture on locked and home screen so I can get that cool effect but it doesn't work, I only get a panoramic still. I am currently running ios 7.1.1 on iPhone 5. Any troubleshooting ideas would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!!!!

Achieving "panorama" look for 4:3 footage in 16:9 frame

I'm doing a corporate video which needs to screen 16:9 anamorphic, but the cameraman shot 4:3 footage. The director doesn't want effectsy/graphic stuff to fill up the frame nor does he want me to blow up the picture 33% then crop, as it would mean a loss of resolution. He suggests I create an effect that simulates the "panorama" setting on HD televisions, which basically takes the about 10% of the left-most and right-most parts of the frame and stretches it to fill up the"pillar box".
I've been trying to do this by exporting the clips to Motion, duplicating each clip twice, cropping the center layer 10% on each side, and cropping the duplicated layers, one as left-most 10%, one as right-most 10% and then stretching them to fill up the frame. It is an extremely time-consuming process, as I'm not sure how to anchor these 2 layers when I stretch them, so they need to be precisely re-positioned. Given I have over 50 clips to do, I just wanted to know if there were some simpler way I could achieve this "panorama" effect, especially if I could do it in FCP.

However I did try it, and as the site developer claims, it is still an in-process tool, and I find that since I can't adjust the center of the frame, the plug-in still being a one-size-fits-all tool, it's not quite usable for my problem. Panorama generator for the iPad

Does anyoen know if there is a panorama creating / auto photo stitch app designed specifically for the iPad as opposed to one for the iPhone / iPod? I want to create stitched together photos on the iPad. The iPhone apps don't seem to work well on the iPad. Thanks for any help

What are you trying to do when you get this error message? Is it related to mail, connecting to the iTunes store, Facebook/iMessage, your internet ISP? All of these are different servers.

I bought a Sony radio to also play the Classic on but it has a Male Lightening on it!

I have no experience with this vendor so cannot offer any comment regarding them. As with all third-party Apple adaptors, this adaptor could support only power as no details as to operational support are shown.

When I called my local Apple Store, I received a very polite but suspiciously contrived answer that Apple is "focused on forward planning" so did not offer a reverse Lightning to 30-pin adaptor. It had the quality of an official talking point given to employees for use in such circumstances.
From the rumors on the Web about Apple disallowing new iOS docking offering both a Lightning and 30-pin adaptor, the lack of a reverse Lightning to 30-pin adaptor could be related?
So while one of the above devices COULD do the job (if you could obtain it!), you would be taking a chance that everything would work correctly!

Are there any PCL to PDF converters for Macs

We have a Windows only software that produces PCL files. I am wondering if there is a converter so that we can view said files as PDFs on our Macs. Does anyone have experience with this in the Mac OS or do we have to install XP or Vista to open the files?
