364XL Cartridges do not fit my Photosmart 7520 printer

I recently purchased replacement ink cartridges for my Phtotsmart 7520 printer (all 364 XL).  I used the HP tool to make sure I found the correct cartridges, and according to everything I read (also on the packaging of the cartridge) they should fit my printer.  However when I try to install them they do not fit.  They seem to be too fat for the holder.  I see that the cartridges were re-designed in 2010, but the printing on the outside of the box has a copyright mark dated 2013 - so they must be later than 2010 - so should fit.  What am I missing ??
Thanks
Sean

  • Setup cartridge does not fit in slot

I have just bought a HP Photosmart 5524. I have tried to install the cartridges but it veryr difficult as it seems that the slots are to narrow. I have managed to place three cartridges, but it is just impossible to fit the fourth.
Is this normal or can this be a manufacture error? What can i do to fit in the fourth cartridge?

Hi @anse , and welcome to the HP Forums.
I see you're experiencing cartridge issues.  I would like to help.
Could you please include the cartridge information, such as the cartridge numbers?
Also, what color of cartridge will not fit in the slot?
I would recommend double checking to ensure all packing material has been removed from both the cartridge and the printhead slots where you load the cartridges.
I would also suggest this link on replacing the print cartridges.
Please let me know what you find.  Thanks for posting on the HP Forums.

  • Can't scan to PDF file on HP Photosmart 7520 printer

I have two HP Photosmart 7520 printers  - one in my home and one at summer home.  On one when I scan I get the option of document or photo and PDF or jpeg.  On the other printer, I am not given any options and it automatically scans into a jpeg file.  How can I get the PDF format option to work on printer number 2?

    Hi @healthdesigner,
    Welcome to the HP Forums!
I understand that you cannot scan to PDF on your HP Photosmart 7520 printer. I am happy to help you with your scanning!
For further assistance, I will need some additional information:
If the printer is connected, Wireless, Ethernet, or USB.
If you are using a Windows or Mac Operating System, and the version number. To find the exact version, visit this link. Whatsmyos.
If the power cable is plugged into a surge protector, or directly to the wall outlet. Issues when Connected to an Uninterruptible Power Supply/Power Strip/Surge Protector. This applies to Inkjet printers as well.
If the printer is able to make copies.

  • HP PhotoSmart 7520 printer

I purchased the HP PhotoSmart 7520 printer over a year ago and this piece of [Post Edited} Crap has never worked from the day that I took it out of the box.  You know there is something wrong when HP constantly is updating to try to correct issues concerning this pile of crap.  It constantly would need to have the IP address retyped for the wireless to work, and oh by the way if you thought you could solve the issue by just hooking up a USB cable well think again they don't provide one.  Once you think you have it working then it will loose the wireless signal, or you will have to reconfigure your computer to recognize this printer.
The last straw was yesterday when I needed to make a copy for a home inspection on a house I am purchasing, do you think I could just press the print button?  After 4 hours of troubleshooting the only thing this [Post Edited] would print was a test page.
I finally solved my problem, I ripped this thing out of the wall and smashed on the ground, now it works better than it ever did.  I can't get HP to give me an address to send this back to them so they can study it or send it back to China to make more garbage printers and stamp HP logos on them.
I will never purchase a Hewlett- Packard Product ever again.   Sincerely, Imfckd
P.S. I still need that address.

  • HP Photosmart 7520 printer window displays "Loading" can't copy/scan/fax from printer.

Our power went out approximately five days ago.  Once the power came back on I unplugged our computer and printer, replugged them in tried to restart each.  We are set up wireless....through our landline phone service and satelite TV.  The PC works fine, I can print from the PC with the HP Photosmart 7520 printer and it prints fine.  However, the printer does not display any functions in the printer screen.  I am unable to get it to come back so that I can copy/scan/fax.  The printer window just keeps displaying the word "Loading" and the circle keeps going around on the printer screen (for 3 hours today.....same thing before....I keep shutting the printer down and retrying to no avail)  We did get a message of some error "syntec" not connected.  We have no idea what that is.  Everything is connected exactly how it was prior to our power going out.  The printer is just over a year old.  We seem to keep having issues of various kinds with this printer. We are not very tech savy but, can usually get things accomplished on our PC and we have used the printer often to copy/scan/fax.  Thanks for any help, much appreciated.

Welcome back to the HP Community @logger2 !
I saw your post about how ever since your power went out, the display on the printer will not function properly, causing you to not be able to scan, copy, or fax. My best suggestion would be to try another power reset (below), and if the screen still does not work properly, to contact us directly to see what your replacement options are for another printer.
    Reset Instructions:
Press the Power button to turn on the product.
With the product turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the product.
Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
    Wait at least 15 seconds.
Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.
Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the product.
If the product does not turn on by itself, press the Power button to turn it on.
Make sure the printer is plugged in directly to the wall outlet, avoiding power bars and surge protectors. This ensures the printer is receiving full power.

  • Photosmart 7520 printer

I have the photosmart 7520 printer installed in my house in NJ.  I want to buy the same printer for my house in Florida.  Will I have a problem installing the "same" printer twice?

Printers are identified by it's id, not just the name. So they are not the "same" printer.
If you are installing a second printer on the same computer, you can just "add a printer", no need to install the software again. Most likely, you can just plug in the new printer, and it will get added automatically.
You might want change the name so you can easily tell them apart.

    Hi fishbum,
Welcome to the HP Support Forums.  I see that you are having issues printing your Photosmart 7520 printer from your Mac.
Please follow the steps in the Print Jobs are Stuck in the Print Queue document. There is a section for each operating system.  Please click on your version of Mac to find the steps.  If that doesn’t help you would you please provide some further information:
How is the printer connected (USB cable or wireless)?
What version of Mac OS X are you using? Mac OS X: How Do I Find Which Mac OS X Version Is on My Computer?
Have you gotten any error messages? If yes, what did the error message say and where was it displayed (printer or computer)?

  • Why does my hp photosmart 7520 prints blank pages

Why does my HP Photosmart 7520 print blank pages?

Sorry to ask an obvious question - but are you putting the paper in the right way? I have a 7520, and as long as there is ink in it, and the paper is facing the correct way, and I hear the print job go to the printer, it prints fine.
Are you hearing the pringing attempting to print?

  • HP Photosmart 7520 printer cannot detect yellow cartridge

My 3-month-old 7520 printer stopped accessing its yellow cartridge when printing color photos, even though the display showed the yellow cartridge was still 1/3 full.
I put a brand-new yellow cartridge in, and the printer display showed a full cartridge, but the printer status report showed it to be empty.  Print Quality Diagnostic report showed an empty cartridge, also.
Pulled the yellow cartridge and checked to see that there was ink at the port by touching my finger to it, left a wet yellow ink spot on my fingertip, so ink was good.  Cartridge date shows it does not expire until 9/10/15, so still current.
Why can't the printer access the (brand new) yellow cartridge to print anything??
This is my first HP printer after a frustrating series of Epson printers, so I was really hoping for better.
    Thank you,
    Kathy

Hello belgiansarebest, and welcome to the HP Forums, I hope you enjoy your experience!
I understand you are having issues with your yellow ink.  I would love to help!
I would recommend performing a hard reset.  Disconnect the power cord from the printer and the power outlet, then wait 60 seconds. After 60 seconds, plug the printer back in. Ensure you plug the printer directly to a wall outlet. Make sure to bypass any sort of surge protector or power bar.
I would also suggest performing the steps listed in this document on Troubleshooting Print Quality Issues.
Good luck and please let me know the results of your troubleshooting steps. Thank you for posting on the HP Forums!

  • Ink cartridge 564xl not working on Photosmart 6510 B211a

When i check the HP Printer assistant for which ink cartridges to buy it says 564, and on the printer it says 364. So as I only saw the information in the program, i bought a bunch of 564xl cartridges that dont seem to be recognised by my printer! As SOON as I poot it in the printer it says: Incompatible Print cartridge(s). I've tried resetting the printer, switching it off completely with or without the cartridges, aligning the printer, cleaned the printer head (through the printer options). When the new 564 cartridges are inside the printer I can't do anything, there is no way to get past the warning! When I insert my depleted 364xl cartridges in, the printer works fine. I've looked for updates and even for firmware updates and have found nothing.
    Firmware version: ESP1CN1244AR
    Software version: 028.000.1315.000
    Printer driver version: 09.84.00.1173
Although it shouldn't matter, I'll mention that I am using Windows 7 (64x)
Please help, I just wasted a bunch of money on these cartridges!!!

What country are you in?  What country was the printer purchased in?  The cartridges for your printer are regionalized, there are four different regions worldwide.  If your printer was purchased in one region and you moved to a new region you will need to  Contact HP to request a "Regionalization Reset". There should not be any charge for this, it is covered as part of the cartridge warranty. You will need to have access to your computer and printer while on the line with HP. You will also need to have a set of cartridges for the new region, once the reset is complete cartridges from the original region will no longer work.  HP's web page on the subject is here.

  • Photosmart 7520 print in black and white?

I have a photosmart 7520. I want to print a black and white tekst-formular, but since there's no ink left in the photo cartridge I can't print any thing. Is it not possible to print only black and white stuff, whith this printer?
    Thanks

    Hi Jeeeez,
I understand you have a Photosmart 7520 that you're wondering if you can print with when one of the colors is out. I will certainly do my best to address you question!
Unfortunately this printer requires all of the ink cartridges have something in them whether you are trying to use that particular cartridge or not. This is simply for the health of the printhead, because if it dries out then nothing will print at all, new ink or not. Once you have all of the inks with something in them inserted in the printer you can set it to print in Black Ink Only from the computer as well for future use.
If you'd like to know how to set the printer to print using Black Ink Only from the computer, please let me know which version of Mac or Windows that you're using and I will get back to you with instructions.
Hope this answers your question, have a great day!!

  • Photosmart 7520 print photo from iphone to plain paper

I have a photosmart 7520 and I would like to print picture from iphone and bypass photo cartridge and print on standard paper. Thanks

    Hi,
I'm not sure that you'll be able to bypass the photo cartridge as the plain papaer print will use the same colours.
In order to get the printer to use plain paper instead of photo paper the best approach would be to use the HP e-Print app as the inbuilt Airprint has limited paper size/source options.
I've included a link on how to setup e-Print here: http://www8.hp.com/us/en/support-topics/mobile-printing/how-to-print-mobile-devices-ipad-iphone.html...

  • Photosmart 7520 prints with green tint on all photos

Need help in finding cause and correcting printing problem that causes all photosto have a green cast to them.It is actually most notable on in darker or shadow areas of the photo. It almost has a sepia appearance to it in those areas only. Cartiages are new, alignment is good.I use Google Picasa for storage and printing, the problem also occurs with Canon DigitalPhoto Professional software from my Canon Ti4 camera.

Hello gclyde991,  Welcome to the HP Forums.  I see that you are having some issues with the print quality of your print outs. I do have a few steps that we can attempt to troubleshoot this issue. First off, please make sure that you have the printer power cable connected directly to a wall outlet and not a power bar/strip. Here is a document that uses a LaserJet printer as an example but it is meant for HP products in general. Please click on the following link that explains the Issues when Connected to an Uninterruptible Power Supply/Power Strip/Surge Protector. I have also located a document that deals with Fixing Print Quality Problems for the HP Photosmart 7520 e-All-in-One Printer Series. If you are still having issues, or if you have any other questions, please feel free to write me back.  Cheers,

    Hi there,
If you have previously setup some scheduled print deliveries, you will need to cancel these from where they were originally setup.
They were most likely setup through your e-Print centre login so you should be able to cancel them there. Here's a link to some infomation on Managing Scheduled Delivery Print Apps:
