3750X switches - get the port duplex by SNMP

Hello,
I'm trying to get the 3750X switch port duplex state by SNMP. It looks like the only available OID is portDuplex, but this is for operational duplex, not the admin duplex.
So, if the portDuplex shows full(2) for a port in SNMP, you can't tell if the port is hard set to "full" or auto-negociated to "full".
As oposed to the CLI, where a "sh int status" command will show "full" for the hard-set ports and "a-full" for ports that auto-negociated to full.
For port speed, it looks like "portAdminSpeed" OID does the job.
So, my question is, using SNMP, how can I tell if a port's duplex is hard set or not??
Thank you,
Laura

Hi,
How to check whether its stack cable problem or stack port problem on respective switch.
Most of the time the issue is the stack cable and not the port.  Try inserting the cable all the way into the slot.  With 3750x switches the slots are narrow and some times you need a flash light to look to make sure the cable is in all the way.
If I change the stack priority on switch 2 and switch 1 , do I need to reboot whole the stack so that new priorities for switch 2 and switch 1 would change to new values.
Yes, reboot the entire stack, after the election switch 2 should be 14 and switch 1 13.
I would correct the stacking cable issue as well before rebooting.

    Hi Karol,
    by navigating to:
    Content Administration -> Collaboration Content -> (Room Administration -> Related Topics) -> Configure Backend Properties for Rooms
    you can change the Webprotocol to http:// and set server port to 50000 (default port).
    To see the SSL Port you can go in the Visual Administrator to Services -> "HTTP Provider Services".

  • How to get the ports on a computer?

    Hello!
    Do anyone know how to list which ports that are not locked/blocked on a comuter?

    you could always loop 65000 times (or however many ports there are), trying to set up a connection to a port, if an exception is thrown (i.e. it the port is being used) then simply record what port that was.

    It appears that CCA is not correctly adding the info into the configuration or is it.
    It made these acl entries:
    access-list 102 remark SDM_ACL Category=0
    access-list 102 permit ip any host 192.168.75.2
    access-list 103 remark SDM_ACL Category=0

    It added this for one port but not for the others:
    ip port-map user-protocol--1 port tcp 3389
    and it added this:
    ip nat inside source list 1 interface FastEthernet4 overload
    ip nat inside source static tcp 192.168.10.12 3389 interface FastEthernet4 3389

    ip nat inside source static tcp 192.168.75.2 1720 interface FastEthernet4 1720
    Yet none of these ports are allowed through the firewall.
    Please help me figure this out.
    Thanks

    I think the CCA team knows of some issue with this.  In May, I had heard that while configuration of NAT static entry is supported by CCA there is an issue in that CCA currently does not modify the firewall configuration to allow the statically mapped IP and TCP port to pass through.
    I heard  we were looking to resolve in a subsequent CCA release. I will find out when or ask that team to reply....

  • Using Prime Infrastucture 2.1 to get the DOT1X status of ports

    Using Prime Infrastructure 2.1 is it possible to generate a report across multiple switches for the ports that are configured to use dot1x and those that are not? The goal of the report is to identify the percentage of ports currently using dot1x vs those that are "open" ports. I'd prefer the ports that "use" dot1x but are authentication open to be included in the group that is not using dot1x, since they really aren't. It would also be nice if trunk ports and those that are administratively down (shutdown) were not counted in either total.
    The sample scenario would see 2 switches, find that that 80 of 94 ports have dot1x, and the 10 ports that are trunks or shutdown are not counted.

    Not really.
    You could sort of do that using Prime LMS's "netshow" functions - it allows you to run a show command (or set of show commands) across your network and provides the output in one set of results.
    You could also create a compliance job in Prime LMS and use that to tell you which user ports are "compliant" with your desired state of having the "dot1x pae authenticator" command, for example.
    Unfortunately Prime Infrastructure is lagging in its ability to do this sort of thing.

    Team,
    We are developing OAF custom page with inline report.
    From this inline report , we have a requirement to navigate to another OAF page.
    For navigating to another OAF page we need to mention the total hyperlink, we are able to get the host name details but could not get the port details.
    Ex : Host Name: dev1.xxtempel.com
    Please provide your thoughts.

    I don't think dynamically we can obtain the port number , how ever you can frame the URL using java concurrent program .

  • How do I get the weblogic port # programmatically?

    I'm writing a class that uses JND to lookup a data source. I don't want to harcode the port number for the provider URL. The code will run in many different environments where the port numbers are different. A configuration file is not pratical. Since the provider URL is always the URL of the weblogic host I'd like to programmatically retrieve the port number that weblogic is listening and use that. Any ideas?

    Hi,
    Yes you can get the port number from your applications web.xml file. Define a new env-entry like one similiar below
    <env-entry>
    <env-entry-name>T3SERVER</env-entry-name>
    <env-entry-value>t3://<<Servername>>:7501</env-entry-value>
    <env-entry-type>java.lang.String</env-entry-type>
    </env-entry>
    and in your source code you can access the above property by obtaining initial context and doing a look up for the property name. A sample code would look like
    Context initCtx = new InitialContext();
    Context envCtx = (Context) initCtx.lookup("java:comp/env");
    strServerUrl = (String) envCtx.lookup("T3SERVER");
    Hope this helps

    I want the redundant port to be blocked state. I tried changing the port priority of the access switch but did not yield any result.
    Request for support.
    Easwar

    Hi Easwar,
    What you see is STP working properly, and the port roles and states are exactly as they should be. Even on a redundant link between switches, exactly one port must be a Designated port in the Forwarding state. STP never blocks a redundant link between switches on both ends. First, it is not necessary to prevent loops: as long as your Sw1 has its port in the Blocking state, it will not be using that link to forward data. Second, if there was an unmanaged switch connected between Sw1 and Sw2 with some stations attached, and both Sw1 and Sw2 had their ports in the Blocking state, the stations connected to this unmanaged switch would be entirely cut off from the network.
    Is there any particular reason why you want the port to be blocking?
    Best regards,
    Peter

  • Basic switch negotiating/fixed port question...

    Hello,
    Is there an issue with Cisco switches not negotiating port duplex and speed issues? We are finding ourselves running around having to fix these settings on most ports and on various switch models. Any thoughts or suggestions or comments, greatly welcome.
    TIA,
    Gary

    Usually when one side is hardcoded with the speed/duplex, the hardcoded side will not be sending pulses to negotiate with the auto-side.
    Therefore, the switch-end configured as "auto" sends pulses (i think it's called fast link pulse) to the other end & also waits to receive flp from the remote-end to determine the right port speed/duplex to use, but since the remote-side NIC has been hardcoded, it doesn't transmit it's side of the pulse.
    Resulting in no-nego. Therefore, causing mismatch since it is unable to determine the duplex to use.

    A barcode scanner that was connected directly to the Mac's USB port stopped working as the "USB had too much power drawn", even though it has worked for over a year in that port.  When we plugged it into the port on the keyboard, the device works. Why?  Obviously the device is operational.  Could the USB port have burned out from having too much power drawn?  If so, is it reparable?

    It can't draw "too much" power, it can only draw as much as the USB port is able to provide and no more. IIRC, the keyboard port has a lower power output than the iMac's port.
    That being said, yea, it's possible that the port has failed and it can be replaced or if another port works you can use that one. Although if it is still under warranty or covered by Apple Care, then I would take it to an Apple Store or service provider to get the port repaired.

  • I don't get the Mail service to work - tried everything!

    Hey there,
    I am frustrated. It's day 4 that I try to get the mail service on my machine running. Maybe someone has sme hints?
    The setup:
    - Mac Mini mid 2010
    - OS X Mavericks and Server 3.0.1
    - static IP (no Firewall or anything else, absolute in the wild)
    - registered domain-name
    - DNS A-Record: server.mydomain.org -> static IP
    - DNS MX-Record: domain, *.domain -> server.mydomain.org; server.mydomain.org -> static IP of server
    Server Configuration:
    - Server.app shows everything is fine.
    - ssh enabled for one user (works as a charme)
    - Service-Data is on another partition than Mavericks
    - Certificate: self-signed intermediate OD-Certificate (might be problematic?)
    - users: one local user and one network-user (services-only)
    - groups: workgroup, local network-group (added by the server.app itself)
    Services:
    - Websites: configured with 12 virtual-hosts some ssl (intermediate certificate) some on port 80, php enabled (All websites work perfect, no problems at all!)
    - OpenDirectory: 1 Master on server.mydomain.org
    - Mail:
    -- Service-Bubble is green, says available under server.mydomain.org
    -- Preferences: Mail available for mydomain.org (no other virtual domains)
    -- authentification: hooked everything...(any method)
    -- no relais
    -- no MB-restriction for users
    -- Filter: Virus and Junk
    I can telnet on port 110 - feedback: dovecot ready!

    I can telnet on port 143 - feedback: dovecot ready!
    I can telnet on port 993 - feedback: works... escape characeter is ' ^'.
    telnet on port 25 - unable to connect, operation timed out
    telnet on port 465 - unable to connect, operation timed out
    telnet on port 587 - -feedback works: 220 server.pscience.de ESMTP Postfix
    Seems like having problem on the smtp standard ports... but why?
    When I now try to connect a client with the server (adding an OS X server Account in the System Preferences) it recognizes the server and lists its services as expected. But when Iopen Mail, the new account shows the litlle lightning and says it can't connect.
    By the way: Notes, Calendar, Reminders work fine!
    Has anyone an Idea what it could be?
    Do I need some additional DNS-stuff?
    If you need some further informations, please let me know.

    If TCP port 25 isn't open, then SMTP services won't work.  That's the port that all SMTP servers use to communicate amongst themselves.    (Sure, you can change the port your SMTP server is listening on, but you'd also have to change the port processing on all of the other SMTP servers around — and if you did manage to implement that change everywhere, the local network folks would likely just block the new port for the same reasons they blocked the old port.)
    If you have a public static IP address and have correct forward and reverse translations — host domain to IP address, and IP address to host domain name — then you don't need and very likely don't want to run your own DNS server.
    More to help you learn how these pieces fit together and not something I'd expect you would need given you have a public static IP and public DNS here is a detailed DNS server configuration article for OS X Server; enable Show All Records and it applies to Server.app on 10.7 and later.  If you have questions after reading that, I can certainly answer them and also update the article to try to reduce the confusion or answer the question.
    Your host didn't have valid reverse DNS, so you'll want to get that cleared up, and you'll want to get the port blocks cleared, or work with the local network folks to set up a relay through one of the existing mail servers.

  • How do i find the port number for oracle10g

    Hi,
    I have installed oracle10g on my pc running windows XP. I need to get the port number for JDBC drivers used by Java Application when defining a JDBC source.
    Java is running on the same machine.
    When I installed oracle I was given the links (with port numbers) for EM, ULTRA SEARCH and iSQLPLUS, what I need is the ORACLE10g database port number. Anybody know where I get from ?
    Cheers

    thanks for the reply the portlist does not contain the port of oracle. The file is below.
    [i]Ultra Search HTTP port number =5620
    Enterprise Manager Agent Port =
    iSQL*Plus HTTP port number =5560
    Enterprise Manager Console HTTP Port (oracle10) = 5500
    Enterprise Manager Agent Port (oracle10) = 1830
    However searching through some other threads found the port to be 1521, which
    oracle must set during installation and tell anybody, unless this infor is in the log.
    so configured the oracle JDBC driver as below (PE8.2 --> ConnectionPools)
    Datasource Classname = oracle.jdbc.pool.OracleDataSource
    URL = jdbc:oracle:thin:@localhost:1521:oracle10
    User = abc
    Password = abc

  • Get author port from workflow

    Greetings,
    we have a case where we are dependent on knowing what port the author environment is listening to from within a workflow. We could add a configuration but there should be some way of getting the org.osgi.service.http.port property somehow. How??
    /Ove

    Hi Ove,
    There isn'a a direct way to get the port from the service, this is due to not being able to guarantee in the Framework that this port property is set and correct currently.   (I've seen suggestions of getting it from Java System Properties if using Standalone CQ, getting it from ConfigurationAdmin after getting the PID of CQSE [2], checking the BundleContext for the property).
    I believe the best approach is to use a configuration, such as to properly configure the Externalizer [1] on your instances and you can get a authorLink from it.
    Someone might be able to chip in a better answer.
