390W PoE-Budget for Cisco 3650-24 Port Model

Can anyone provide a "show power inline" with the available PoE-Budget for the new Cisco 3650-24 PoE+ Switch? We have to be sure that the 390W from the Datasheet is 100% correct.
Many thanks
Manuel

I am not sure how many people have deployed 3650 series switches, as they are brand new.  If you are not sure about the documentation, ask your system engineer to clarify it for you.

  • Can i use this PoE Injector for Cisco Aironet 1602?

Hi, i want to inject PoE to my new AP (Aironet CAP1602i) and i'm looking for injector, i found this one in my local store: : http://download.level1.com/level1/datasheet/POI-2002-V1_SPEC_V1.0.pdf
will it work? i'm afraid of the voltage. it specified 54V on the datasheet, but i understood that there is a PoE power negotiate.
    Please advise.
    Thanks,
    Shai

The image of the injector? i've posted the datasheet, it has all the relevant information and i hope you can look at it.

  • Configuring - Cisco 2921 with Switch Module/POE PS and 3750-x 24 port switch

    This is what I have
    - Cisco 2921 router
             with SM-ES2-24-P switch module and
                     POE power supply
    -Cisco 3750x- 24 port Switch
I have port G1/0 (which connects to 24p Switch Module port g0/26 logically) configured with 3 sub interfaces (management, User and VOIP)
I want to connect 3750x to G0/1 on 2921 via fiber GBIC but want to use same three VLANs
I can not daisy chain 3750x via the switch module because it does not have fiber port.
I do not want to create another routed (g0/1) interface because I want to keep Users on both switches on the same subnet without further splitting the subnet in two.
I hope I am not making this confusing.
How can I bridge g1/0 and g0/1 so I can pass vlan traffic between two switches?
Second problem i have is ...
I have a VOIP connected to switch module (SM) and it is not getting any power.
I went in to all the interfaces on SM and issued power inline auto command
On the SM (sh power inline) - available is 0.0(w)
on the 2921 (sh power inline)
       - power supply status is good,
       - maximun power available is 280.
       - interface G1/0( which connects to SM)
          *device is unknown
          * powered off
         * allocated 0.0 watts.
    I already tried resetting SM
Is there any other command I need to issue?
    thanks for your help.

I'm having a similar issue. I can get trunked connectivity between the switch module and the router if I put the IP address on the router sub interface, but not if I put it on a VLAN interface. I was hoping to have it on a VLAN sub interface on the router so I could use Gig0/1 and Gig0/2 to connect other switches and have them on the same VLANs. I'm using Gig1/0 on the router side and Gig0/51 on the switch side (48-port module).
Any help? Am I on the wrong track altogether?

i've got an issue with a new cisco 3650 48 port wherein older AP 1231 keeps on disconnecting.

    pre,
i don't think it's a cable issue. correction on the working AP, it's supposed to be a AIR-SAP1602E.
this AP is working on the 3650.
i've searched and i think the AIR-AP1231 isn't supported on this switch platform.

  • Cisco PoE switch for WAP321

Could someone please point me to a Cisco small business switch that would be capable of powering five WAP321's?
I don't know the power profile on these APs but have noticed that the PoE injectors pump out 16.8 MAX watts. I can't find anywhere what the power profile is on WAP321 APs but ~17 WATTS seems to me to be quite high.
In fact, I was interested in the SF100D-16P which has a power budget of 64W over 8 ports... the price range is in my budget.
Could anybody tell my if the SF100D-16P can power 5-6 WAP321's sufficiently? Thank you.

The WAP support 802.3 AF. Although I don't know specific detail for the power profile I can assure it should not exceed 15.4 WATT. Typically the small business power draw is less than 8 watt per port. Devices which support CDP will also have a min/max draw that optimizes the POE functions.
However, the datasheet and admin guide does not make mention of any CDP

  • Cisco 3650 tacacs+ with SSH works, not for http to use wireless GUI

    Hi
Last week I installed a brand new Cisco 3650 switch and the wireless option.
    Everything works fine.
I also configured tacacs+. Login through SSH works fine.
Now I want to manage the wireless part from the GUI bij entering https://ip-address/wireless
Local authentication with priv 15 works fine.
Now I configured tacacs. After entering username password I received a blank screen.
After debugging, I got a SSl failed.

    hi Erik,
command auth is not supported for GUI for the IOS-XE boxes.
Also can you try dong the following to check if this is a config issue.
I see that you have  used TACACS as a method-list. Can you try using “default”?
To use “default”, you need to maje the following changes.
Aaa authentication login default  group  <server-grp>
Aaa authorization exec default group <server-grp>
On the http front, remove all the commands that you have configured below and only have this
    Ip http authentication aaa
Can you paste the o/p of the folllowing commands?
    sh run | sec http
    sh run | sec aaa
Does http work instead of https?

Hi Ram, yes the MIB can be used. The switches are essentially the same in many regards (especially on a software level).
I do not know the OID for bandwidth. If you're looking for a particular OID may be this tool helps you

What is missing from the example is the fact that you need to create a Variable in the Manage Variable List for the $interfaceNameList object. Here is what I did:
    Template Detail:
    CLI Content:
    #foreach ($interfaceName in $interfaceNameList)
            interface $interfaceName
                 shutdown
            exit
    #end
Next hightlight the interfaceNameList name and then click on the Manage Variables icon (upper right corner of the dialog). This will create a new variable of type String called interfaceNameList. Edit this new variable and change it to:
    Type: DB
    Default Value: IntfName
Note: IntfName was retrieved from the list of predefined variables listed in /opt/CSCOlumos/conf/ifm/template/inventoryTagsInTemplate mentioned above.

  • POE device flapping on switch access port

I have a switch at a remote office.  I have a Cisco 2851 Router and two cisco 3650 POE switches.  I also have three Aruba 105 POE APs. Two are plugged into one switch, and one into another. Yesterday we had a power issue that caused all of the equipment to reboot.  Everything came back up fine except the two Aruba APs that are plugged into a single switch.  The other AP came up fine.  When I do a show power inline, the two APs show that they are getting power from the switch.
Interface Admin  Oper       Power   Device              Class Max

    Fa0/2     auto   on         15.4    Ieee PD             3     15.4

When I do a show mac-address-table, I can only see the two missing APs for the brief moments that the interface is up.
What I'm trying to find out, is can this still be a part of the running configuration that never got saved or did the power disruption just cause a  hardware/cabling problem?

Unfortunately that's not an option here unless I ship mine out and walk a standard non-technical user through the process.  But I will tell you that we moved the AP that was in port one into several other ports on the same switch with no response from the lights, show power inline command, didn't show in the MAC-address-table and then it finally worked on port 31. We moved the AP that was in FA 0/2 into several other ports as well as replaced the cable between the switch and patch panel and the only thing I show is that it registers under the show power inline command, but no light on the port and nothing in the mac-address-table. The AP is located in the ceiling so replacing it will be a last resort.
Basically I'm wondering if the device is showing power but not mac in the address table, does that demonstrate that the layer 1 is working correctly?

  • Cisco 3650 QoS design: "mls QoS" not supported

    Dear colleagues,
I am currently testing a Cisco 3650 for various catalogue items. One key feature that we use on almost all our catalogue items, is Quality of Service (QoS).
On the old Cisco 3560 and 3750, we use "mls qos" and related commands. We use numbered ACLs for  untrusted QoS policy that sits on the LAN / ingress port. I have raised a TAC case for this issue but is there a tool to help me convert the "mls QoS" design on the old 3560 platform to the new 3650 platform where "mls qos" is not supported?
    Many thanks.

    Hi,
The new 3650 runs IOS-XE and the older Cisco 3560 and 3750 run IOS.  So the QOS architecture on the new 3650 is different.

  • Confusion around PoE module for 800 series

There seems to be a lot of confusion around the PoE module for the Cisco 800 series routers
I'd like to know if the Cisco 887VA and 897VAW routers can have the internal PoE module fitted as an after sale item?
I see reference to 800-IL-PM-4= but searching for that amongst suppliers seems to show an external Power injector that connects to 4 Ethernet ports on the router and then from there you connect the external devices.
What I want to get is the internal daughtercard that adds PoE to the router itself.
Can anyone help me identify the right part please?

You can get the PoE daughter card pre-fitted before the appliance leaves the factory or you can do it yourself as an after-sales item.
800-IL-PM-4 is the daughter card.  Read the Q & A below:

    A. Yes, you can upgrade the PoE on all models except the C892FSP-K9, which does not support PoE at all. For all Cisco 890 Routers, the product ID (PID) for the PoE upgrade is 800-IL-PM-4=. This PID comes with two power supply options: 80 or 125 watts. The older CISCO890 requires the 80-watt option, whereas the newer C890 requires the 125-watt option.
    Q. Why do some routers use 80 watts and others 125 watts for PoE?
    A. The 80-watt power supply is used in addition to the standard 60-watt power supply, so you will have two power supplies connected to the router. For the newer routers we combined these two power supplies into the one 125-watt power supply (hence we have a 4-pin connector). Both models support the base router as well as 4 ports with standard PoE.
