3D Axis System Plane Background Colour

Having created a 3D axis system in DIAdem 9.1, I then tried to colour the three planes. However, the colour sits on top of everything, hiding the data below! I've tried 'moving' it backwards but without success; is there a fix for this?
Thanks,
Si.

Hi Walter,
Thanks for your response. I too wondered if this was the case so immediately set about downloading the relevant files. I have now installed them and find that it doesn't make any difference (since I can only have three attachments I won't post a copy of the graph as the only thing that has changed is the version number).
However, I have discovered that I can influence the problem but not in a way that allows me to have the graph I wanted. You may have noticed that I have a 3D line in the plot as well as the surface and this is playing a role in the problem. For example, if I swap the order of the curve definitions so that the line is first and the surface second then I get the graph in attachment 3D Graph3. This is an improvement but despite the hidden line calculation box being ticked for the surface, it doesn't work, hence I can see the gridlines and other data. After this I found that if I deleted the 3D line then things improved further. The surface appeared to be dominant but still let some panel colour show through. This is in the attachment 3D Graph4. If then converted the surface to a global palette colour rather a single colour then I almost get something that will do. I can also add the 3D line back in. This is 3D Graph5. However, I would like to see the line "on top" of the surface in terms of the layers to the plot. Bizarrely this happens when the curve is BELOW the surface in the curve definition list but this action also causes the panel colour to come to the foreground too.
Ultimately what I would like is a 3D plot with coloured panels, a surface "on top" of the panels, and then a 3D curve "on top" of the surface. Looks like I need to keep trying!
Regards,
Si.

  • Change the background colour of windows system-wide? (non B/W)

    I have difficulty reading on a white background, but find the White on Black theme doesn't work for me either. The background colour which works best for me is #F9EEE2;. I can work for nearly twice as long in a window with that background colour.
    So I prefer apps which allow me to change the background colour of their windows (e.g. [PathFinder|http://www.cocoatech.com>, [iTerm|http://iterm.sourceforge.net>, [Journler|http://wiki.journler.com/index.php?title=Main_Page], [OmniOutliner|http://www.omnigroup.com/products/omnioutliner>, [BBEdit|http://www.barebones.com/index.shtml], [TranslateIt|http://mac.gettranslateit.com>). I'll pay for this feature.
    However, I often don't have the choice. For example, [PoEdit|http://www.poedit.net/index.php] is the only OSX-native gettext .po editor (since Snow Leopard killed Cocoa-Java and thus [LocFactoryEditor|http://www.triplespin.com/en/products/locfactoryeditor.html]) , so I have to use it. I asked the developer if he could add a preference to change the background colour of the window (PoEdit is Carbon). He replied that this sort of preference should be system-wide, shouldn't it?
    From the Linux POV, yes, it should. Do we have that sort of option in OSX Snow Leopard? Previous OSX theme apps ShapeShifter and Mystique are respectively not yet compatible with OSX, and not available any more. I had a look at [ThemePark|http://www.geekspiff.com/software/themepark> (which does support 10.6), but don't know where to start in editing resource files. So what are our options for changing window background colour system-wide? (Or is there a Carbon plugin or library the PoEdit developer could use to embed that preference for his app.?)
    Thanks for any help you can offer with this.

    I asked a similar question before...as far as I know, there is no option to change this system-wide...short of creating a new color profile or using some hidden Terminal command.

  • Ios7 control and notification center do not take the background colour,it's plan white and black.hi

    hi
    when swiping down the notification and the control center,it doesn't take the background colour as shown in the ios 7 videos, instead it's plain white and black-i am using an iphone 4,anybody else with the same issue on their iphone 4 or higher?

    Hi - I have an iPhone 4 as well.
    The problem is that the iPhone 4 only gets a sample of what is shown in the ios 7 videos. The iPhone 5, 5s and 5c can run those graphics, however the iPhone 4 can not. To get a "demo" of what it looks like, go to Settings>General>Accessibility>Increase Contrast    and turn that toggle off. This will give your phone a slight transparency effect for notif and command center, however it is nowhere near what was shown in the vids.
    Sorry for the inconvenience, hope this clarified everything,

    Someone else in the forum told me how to do this.  If you have Onyx on your system then select Parameters, iTunes and turn off high contrast mode.  If you don't have Onyx, I'd suggest getting it.  It is freeware and used to help maintain your system.  Good luck

  • Unable to set background colour JTableHeader in Java 1.6_18

    We're moving our application from Java 1.4.2 to 1.6_18, so far without major problems but there's some small issues with the GUI. Originally we'd change the background colour of the JTableHeader, but in 1.6_18 that doesn't seem to work. Instead of colouring the complete header it just seems to draw an outline. It kind of gives the impression that there's something on top of the table header which hides the coloured background.
    The code below shows what I'm trying to do, and gives different results when compiled in Java 1.4.2 and Java 1.6_18. It makes no difference whether I'm using the UIManager or setting the background directly on the JTableHeader.
    The application still works fine of course, but it bugs me that I can't work out what the problem is, so any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! I've already had a look at bug [6521138|http://bugs.sun.com/bugdatabase/view_bug.do?bug_id=6521138], but it makes no difference whether a new JTableHeader is set, so I think it's different. Also, the workaround for bug [4776303|http://bugs.sun.com/bugdatabase/view_bug.do?bug_id=4776303] has no effect so I think that doesn't apply either.

  • How to change the page Header background colour in a Theme

    Hello,
    I want to know how to change the page header background colour. If you are in the Editor I don't find a property where to change it.
    If you are in the Theme Editor in the header bar I want to change stands <b>Theme Editor</b>. This (in my case blue colored bar) I want to change in another color.

    Hello Radhika,
    thanks for your answer. Where do I find the option for the pageheader in System Administration>Portal Display>Theme Editor ->IView Trays exactly?
    The pageheader is a picture, which must be uploaded for the web dynpro. Why should any webdynpro element in the ivew tray. There is no relationship between these two parts.
    I have not found any option to change the web dynpro pageheader. Could there any extra theme editor for webdynpro?
    Thanks.

  • Modify background colour in Slideshow mode ?

    Hi all
    I have built a Keynote file 1920 x 640 for an (obvioulsy) ultra-widescreen presentation at 3:1 (as opposed to regular 16:9 or 4:3.
    I'm using a MacBook Pro with a desktop 1920 x 1200. So obvioulsy when I play the slideshow it has black letterboxing the content top and bottom. Can I change the colour of the black letterboxing to another colour of my choice ?  It seems not in Keynote per se, but perhaps via the system ?

  • Background colour of graph

    Hi to all,
    when creating a report the background colour of a graph is always black and the graph itself is green. How can I change these colours?
    Thanks for your help.
    Daniel

    Hi Daniel,
    sorry, no I was wrong. I did not mind that you were posting in the Teststand thread and thought you were talking of LabVIEW. That is why my answer has only to do with LabVIEW; forget about it.
    If you are using Teststand to create reports, the graphs will be generated by Teststand, not LabVIEW. Unfortunately, the graph colors are not an option which can be easily changed. Instead, this is rather complicated and implies Testsatand customisation. Please refer to this thread to get some more information about this issue: how change the report graph color in teststand.

  • LAB View crashes changing background colour

    My LAB View runtime application (7.0) crashes sometimes without error message when changing the background colour of my frontpanel. My operating System is XPP.

    We have reproduced the crash with the development environment and with the runtime version (.EXE made with application builder).
    Enclosed are 2 word files: one from development crash and one from runtime crash.
    The runtime crash is from a computer with visual studion 2003 installed, so I made some visual studio debug snapshots.
    At the development crash, there are no internal errors to investigate!

  • Desk top background colours.

    Some time ago I was able to use the colour palette to achieve a more acceptable desktop background colour than that supplied by Apple. And I've now forgotten how I did it!! Strangely, none of the formal books seem to recognise that this offers a hugely pleasing alternative to Apple's solid colours.
    Could anyone draft a step by step path to achieve this aim.

    Hello
    There is a way, but it's a little more complex than the usual "Mac way".
    Create (or find) a 1-pixel-square transparent image (.png format is fine). If you can't locate one, here's one I made earlier: http://public.me.com/thecliftonfamily (download the 1x1.png file)
    Save this file somewhere, and go into your Desktop Background chooser (through System Preferences - Desktop, or by right-clicking on your desktop). Now drag your 1x1 image into the image well (or browse for it). Here's the trick: change the "Fill" option next to the well to "Center". You will now see a colour box to the right - click it and it'll generate a colour wheel from which you can set the colour of your choosing.
    Best,
    Matt

  • Is it possible to have the background colour of a field change based on the entry?

    I previously obtained help from a user here to create a script that autopopulates a field based on options selected in two sets of radio buttons:
    var consequence = this.getField("Consequence").valueAsString;
    var likelihood = this.getField("Likelihood").valueAsString;
    if (consequence=="Insignificant" && likelihood=="Rare") event.value = "Low";
    else if (consequence=="Insignificant" && likelihood=="Unlikely") event.value = "Low";
    else if (consequence=="Insignificant" && likelihood=="Moderate") event.value = "Low";
    else if (consequence=="Insignificant" && likelihood=="Likely") event.value = "Low";
    else if (consequence=="Insignificant" && likelihood=="Almost Certain") event.value = "Moderate";
    else if (consequence=="Minor" && likelihood=="Rare") event.value = "Low";
    else if (consequence=="Minor" && likelihood=="Unlikely") event.value = "Low";
    else if (consequence=="Minor" && likelihood=="Moderate") event.value = "Moderate";
    else if (consequence=="Minor" && likelihood=="Likely") event.value = "Moderate";
    else if (consequence=="Minor" && likelihood=="Almost Certain") event.value = "High";
    else if (consequence=="Moderate" && likelihood=="Rare") event.value = "Low";
    else if (consequence=="Moderate" && likelihood=="Unlikely") event.value = "Moderate";
    else if (consequence=="Moderate" && likelihood=="Moderate") event.value = "High";
    else if (consequence=="Moderate" && likelihood=="Likely") event.value = "High";
    else if (consequence=="Moderate" && likelihood=="Almost Certain") event.value = "Critical";
    else if (consequence=="Major" && likelihood=="Rare") event.value = "Low";
    else if (consequence=="Major" && likelihood=="Unlikely") event.value = "Moderate";
    else if (consequence=="Major" && likelihood=="Moderate") event.value = "High";
    else if (consequence=="Major" && likelihood=="Likely") event.value = "Critical";
    else if (consequence=="Major" && likelihood=="Almost Certain") event.value = "Extreme";
    else if (consequence=="Catastrophic" && likelihood=="Rare") event.value = "Moderate";
    else if (consequence=="Catastrophic" && likelihood=="Unlikely") event.value = "High";
    else if (consequence=="Catastrophic" && likelihood=="Moderate") event.value = "Critical";
    else if (consequence=="Catastrophic" && likelihood=="Likely") event.value = "Extreme";
    else if (consequence=="Catastrophic" && likelihood=="Almost Certain") event.value = "Extreme";
    // etc.
    else event.value = "";
    I'm wondering if its possible to have the colour of the field that uses the above script, change based on the entry. E.g. If the answer is Low; make the background colour Green; if its Moderate, make it orange etc.?
    I know its a big ask but thought I would check.
    Thanks in advance.

    One approach would be to have access to a Mac that can run the classic environment or has a pre OS X native installation. These should be able to read the files for dates of creation/modification. There is also SheepShaver that runs on OS X machines.

  • Background colour on pages

    Please can you help, I used to set the background colour on my windows so didnt get white glare..and so no visual migraines, but I don't know how to sort the apple..is it not possible to set a background colour that only shows on screen but doesn't send or print with that colour? Many thanks C

    You can dim your monitor to comfortable levels in your System Preferences. Particularly on the new LED screens which dim down to extremely low levels.
    However I think you are more likely to develop headaches trying to read content with too little lack of contrast than too much. As for coloring the background, readability studies show black and white is by far the best for readabilty.
    But then there is no end to the crazy illogical excuses people will come up with for doing the oddball things they do.

  • Boring set of desktop background colours.

    A few months ago, soon after I first bought my Mac, I managed to achieve a choice of the full spectrum of colours for my desk top background colour, ending up with a delightful shade of grass green. I've no idea how, but now, wanting a change I can't find anything in desk top / screen saver except the same old boring set of solid colors and I can't seem to access the spectrum ball at all in relation to desk top.
    Incidentally, clicking on screen saver has of late resulted in a frozen screen and the beachball (Agh), necessitating the use of 'force quit' to return to normality.
    Can anyone set out an uncomplicated route to help give a change to my desk top ? Big thank you in anticipation.

    The background is just for the preview window.
    The spectrum ball is a part of the built it colour menu, easily accessed with command shift C or show colours in various apps.
    To get your apple green background using just apps available in Leopard.
    Open TextEdit > Format > Show fonts which brings up the font menu with various options along the top of the window. Forth box from left contains a blank page icon > click on the blank page and choose your colour from the colour menu.
    The TextEdit window will then be your colour > Make a big as possible > use command shift 3 to take a screen shot which will be on your desktop.
    Double click screen shot which will open in preview > draw a cropping box with the curser as big as possible > Tools > Crop > Save in User > Pictures.
    Access pictures folder from System prefs > Desktop >>
    An easier way would be to use a graphics app but not as much fun
    Maybe Paintbrush

  • Excel cell background colour in POI

    hi all,
    i know this probably isnt the right place to post this but has anyone used the POI package to read Excel files?
    Im trying to get the background colour of a cell
    using
    HSSFCellStyle bgCol=checkCell.getCellStyle();
    String myCol=String.valueOf(bgCol.getFillBackgroundColor());but it doesnt return my colour index as it just returns 64 or 65
    (it returns 64 if there is a colour background and 65 if there isnt a colour background, but always returns 64 regardless of the background colour)
    any ideas why it does this and how i actually do get the unique identifyer of the colour.

    this is my code
    int maxRows=sheet.getPhysicalNumberOfRows();
    for (int i=0;i<maxRows;i++)
         //check background colour
         HSSFRow checkRow = sheet.getRow(i);
         HSSFCell checkCell = checkRow.getCell((short)0);
         HSSFCellStyle bgCol=checkCell.getCellStyle();
         String myCol=String.valueOf(bgCol.getFillBackgroundColor());
         System.out.println(i+" "+myCol+ " : "+checkCell.getNumericCellValue()+" "+bgCol.getFillPattern());
         }my first 3 rows in my sheet have 3 different colour backgrounds then the rest of 30 rows have no colour
    the returned data looks like this
    0 64 : 1.0 1
    1 64 : 2.0 1
    2 64 : 3.0 1
    3 65 : 4.0 0
