How the frak do i get 3D on the stupid thing???? Where the hell is all of it???

3D and repousse are available in Photoshop Extended.
If the menu doesn't even show up, that means that your license is for the standard version of Photoshop.
But Master Collection comes with Photoshop Extended.
So, something is wrong with the license on your system and you need to contact Adobe Customer Support.

  • Lightroom 3 does not see Photoshop CS5 as Primary EXTERNAL editor

After removing prior versions of Lightroom (2.7) and Photoshop (CS4), Lightroom 3 does not recognize Photoshop CS5 64 bit or 32 bit as the PRIMARY external editor.  I can select the file and edit in the proper file, but the other options are greyed out.

Missing Registry entry caused by uninstalling CS4 AFTER installing CS5.

  • LR3 Not Detecting Photoshop CS5

Suddenly LR3 does not want to detect my newly installed Photoshop CS5. It detected fine yesterday, but today all the options for the Edit In > menu are grey except Photomatix. Photoshop opens and runs fine by itself.
Any ideas would be great.. I am really hoping I won't have to reinstall Lightroom.

These are the recommended procedures to solve your problem. Unfortunatel, reinstalling PS is the first one to go, but you can try the registry edit first.

  • Exif: pixelxDeminsion not in photoshop cs5 header xmp information?

I am trying to upgrade a process that uses the EXIF: pixel x and y deminision in the XMP header information in the photoshop cs3 psd files. I am not able to find the same information in the Cs5 files. It has been moved out of the header. The process is a verification that is run on the data of the file before the file is processed in Photoshop without human interaction. If someone could point me the correct direction or shed some light on this change, it would be greatly appreciated.

I don't think I have an answer for you about exactly what went wrong, but one thing that can help with understanding the messages (and maybe can help you and your IT people figure it out) is this:
Photoshop saves the information about the last printer the document was printed to as metadata in the document file.  So if you make a print then save the PSD, the printer info is in the PSD.
If recently you opened an image that had previously been printed at another place (and which didn't have an exact match to the printer available in your current location), then you can start to imagine these error messages making a bit more sense.  Things like "The saved printer information" begin to have meaning.
    Hope this helps.

  • Lightroom not detecting Photoshop cs5

Lightroom 4 only detects Photoshop cs2, not cs5, so I can't jump over to cs5 for further editting. Is there an easy way to correct this? I assume it is because cs2 was installed after cs5 (don't ask, it wasn't me!)

Do a repair install of PS CS5 and it should correct the issue.

  • Acr opens raw in bridge but not in photoshop cs5

When opening a raw (RAF ) file in bridge everything  works fine ,when I want to open the file, ps cs5 opens the file, no problem.
But when opening the same file in ps, acr comes up and when I click open image, I get the message " could not comlete your request because there  is not enough memory (RAM)".
When opening acr in bridge and then: open image, ps works fine.
I just upgraded my mobo ,memory and processor ( i7-2600k .8Mb). Still running windows xp 32bit with intel hd 3000 video ,dual monitor. Never had this problem before with less memory and pentium 4.
    Very strange. Any ideas?

What type of RAW files are we talking about, NEF,CR2 or other?
Bridge is just a flle browser, and RAW files are opened and edited in Adobe Camera Raw.  Do you just get a thumbnail, but it willl not open in ACR?
Does ACR work with other RAW images that have not been corrupted.
Do you have a backup (highly recommended) of these images somewhere?  Should be on seperate physical drive or on a DVD.

  • My computer does not recognize Photoshop CS5 Extended disc

my computer does not recognize CS5 Extended disc. Can anyone help me?

if you follow all 7 steps you can dl a trial here:  http://prodesigntools.com/all-adobe-cs5-direct-download-links.html
    and activate with your serial.
if you have a problem dl'g, you didn't follow all 7 steps.  the most common error involves failing to meticulously follow steps 1,2 and/or 3 (which adds a cookie to your system enabling you to download the correct version from adobe.com).

I have reports of 10.10.1 (Yosemite) having this same issue. I looked through the crash log and found this important clue:
1/1/15 5:58:40.784 PM Adobe Photoshop CS5[883]: WARNING: The Gestalt selector gestaltSystemVersion is returning 10.9.1 instead of 10.10.1. Use NSProcessInfo's operatingSystemVersion property to get correct system version number.
    Call location:
    Important Notes:
Adobe Photoshop CS5 uses the Gestalt Selector to determine which version of operating system you are using which results in the message above.
Apple deprecated (removed) support for Gestalt Selector in system 10.8 and now uses NSProcessInfo's operatingSystemVersion property instead.
Click here to access the Gestalt Manager Reference on the Apple Developer Website.
Note that in this case deprecated doesn't necessarily mean removed from the OS, it just means that the support for it is no longer available. Despite being "deprecated"  the call to the Gestalt Selector will still return a value, there are two different ways to get that value.
Method One: Use the gestaltSystemVersion. Which reports 10.9.1.
Method Two: Use the gestaltSystemVersionMajor, gestaltSystemVersionMinor, and gestaltSystemBugFix to get each of the values and concatenate them. For Instance: Major Version = 10, Minor Version = 10, and Bug Fix Version = 1 then you have 10.10.1
The problem with using Method One is that the minor version is limited to one character. Since 10 is clearly greater than 1, gestalt reports it as the highest number it can, which is 9, hence 10.9.1 and not 10.10.1. This Gestalt bug has not be fixed on the Apple side because support for it was dropped with version 10.8.
The user reporting the issue was running version 12.0 of Photoshop. An attempt to update the version to 12.0.4 failed with the installer reporting the following:
The following updates were unable to install. If you wish to install these updates, please fix the problems below and retry:
    Photoshop 12.0.4
    Installation Failed
Time to dig around and see if I can figure out what is causing this to die. I am hoping the 12.0.4 update corrects the issue.

  • Photoshop CS5 "Could not complete your request because of a program error." on Save As

    Hello all,
We just got a new iMac with 10.9 on it.  Photoshop CS5 is having a major problem.  About 80% of the time we get an error on Save As, "Could not complete your request because of a program error."
It appears like it might be related to saving JPEGs, as we get the message when saving as JPEG and Photoshop PDF.  Saving as Photoshop and PNG work fine.
    Running 10.9.3
    Photoshop CS5
Creative Cloud is also installed on this machine.

Alright, something on your system is causing odd problems.
Third party plugins would be the first suspect.  If you have third party plugins, disable them.
Corrupt font files or corrupt OS font cache would be the second.
See this for tips to troubleshoot font issues:  http://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/kb/troubleshoot-fonts-photoshop-cs5.html
After those 2 causes, it would have to be something invoked, like a scanner or printer driver.
Then we get to bad installs, bad RAM, bad CPU, etc.

  • Photoshop CS5.1 "Could not complete the save command because there is not enough memory (RAM) - HELP

Hi, I use Windows 7, Photoshop CS5.1 often pops up with "Could not complete [command] because there is not enough memory (RAM)."  I have increased my performance preferences to (1451mb) 90%, however I have not restarted Photoshop as I want to try and save the work I have been doing today.  I would greatly appreciate any experience in this area and advice as how to work around this problem.

    Good day!
You could try to free up resources by closing all non-essential documents and invoking Edit > Purge > All.

  • Problems installing plug-ins (and even Adobe updates) to Photoshop CS5 Extended on a new Win7 64-bit laptop.Instead, a message box pops up on the CS5 screen saying "could not complete your request because it is not the right kind of document."

Problems installing plug-ins to Photoshop CS5 Extended on a new Win7 64-bit laptop.  (Same CS5 and plug-ins installed OK several years ago on a Vista laptop.  Now I'm just trying to migrate everything over to the new laptop.) Even some Adobe updates won't install.  Instead, a message box pops up on the CS5 screen saying "could not complete your request because it is not the right kind of document."   Any solution?

CS5's automatic update mechanism is broken, perhaps because it is no longer updated and can't cope with the newer ways of updating.
So this means you will have make a list of the updates that failed, go here: Product updates
    and manually download/install from there.

  • Photoshop CS5.1 Extended: Could not complete your request because there are too many Files Open

I saved a file last night and now this morning I get an error message stating: "Photoshop CS5.1 Extended: Could not complete your request because there are too many Files Open. Try closing some windows and try again.". I've rebooted the system and made sure Photoshop was the only program running and that there were no other files open prior to trying to open my file. I increased Photoshops ram usage, checked the OpenGL settings, 3D and VRAM settings, cleared my temp files and am at a loss for opening this file.
    System Specs:
    Win 7 64
    6 core I7 processor
    32gb Ram
    3GB VRAM
600gb free space on 7200 rpm drive
    File specs:
1 3D object replicated maybe 5 times (yes, I should have rasterized them, and will do that to 4 of them if I get the file open)
    Maybe 8 textures
Not sure how many total layers.
Is there anyway to get Photoshop to reopen this file?

No, more VRAM is useless. I had the same thought as you so I tried with a friend's computer with 3GB of VRAM for 8GB RAM (mine has 1GB VRAM for 16GB RAM). Still got the same error message. Sorry guys but our files are lost until Adobe fix the error in Photoshop code. I hope in the future they will find a way to either fix this error or give a clear limitation, it is really a shame such a dangerous problem exists and persists for more than 3 photoshop gen.
Still you may be able to have at least a flat image of your latest file by trying to open the file as smart object. I started my work over by doing that. Not a lot but better than nothing.
However for my new file I am trying something different : Each time I think a 3D file is final, I do not rasterize it but make it into a smart object and save the new smart object into a single separated .psd file. If any change is needed I can still edit all of my 3D objects by opening them separately. So far it works, the global file is lighter with few to no 3D objects inside but I will not say it is a 100% no-risk method yet.
Last advice I can give everyone : Before closing the file you are working on, save it as a copy (File / Save as... and check 'As copy' in the options below) then with your main file still open, try to open the copy. You may need a lot of memory if your file is heavy but still if the dreaded error message appears when you try to open the copy then remove or rasterize some 3D objects in your main one. Save again as copy and try to open the copy until you do not get the message anymore.
