3D Cube Import from Photoshop Problem?

Hi Everyone. I am trying to import a 3d cube wrap from PS into AE. It does import, but rather than being a 3d cube, it remains two dimensiona. I did convert to a 3d layer, but that still flattens the cube when I try to spin it. Thanks Roman

When you import a PSD file into After Effects as a composition and that PSD file contains a 3D object layer, you can choose to make the layer a live Photoshop 3D layer. If you don’t choose the Live Photoshop 3D option when you import the file, you can convert the layer to a live Photoshop 3D layer in After Effects by choosing Layer > Convert To Live Photoshop 3D.

Menus Imported from Photoshop (problem)

So I design a menu in Ps, then bring it into DVDsp, and i have my little "play all" - and "scene selection"
in the corner of the jpeg, how to i get that to become highlighted, when in a dvd player, so you are able to select them with a remote, say a shadow of a color over them? anyone follow me?

Apart from the instructions above about creating a standard overlay menu, please note the reference to using a .pict file and not a jpeg... jpegs have a compression applied to them which just ends up looking ugly - use .pict or .tiff instead and your menus will look better.
You can also simply import your image as a background to a menu and add a button rectangle by clicking and dragging over the areas on the background where you want your buttons to be. Then, using the property inspector you can set the 'style' for the button and make all sorts of different effects happen when it is selected, including the 'simple button' effect of having the entire rectangle change colour. This is a simple way of creating the overlay effects and is built in to DVDSP if you didn't want to go back out to Photoshop... however the better route is to use Photoshop, IMO.

Importing from Photoshop (problems)

Hi
I have designed my site in Photoshop and want to get it into
flash. Im exporting it into image ready and the exporting it as a
SWF to import into flash.
Flash imports the file as layers but it puts each text
character into a seperate text box, so for example if i have a
large area of text each character is in a seperate text box making
editing copy really difficult.
Am exporting text the wrong way, or do i just have to re do
the text in flash?

I could be wrong here but I wouldent use image ready to
export to flash
I design in photoshop and bring in elements that CANNOT be
made in flash
all flash elements will be significantly smaller in size
compared to bitmaps which i BELIEVE image ready would export ( but
again i could be wrong cause I dont use imageready to

How do I import from Photoshop elements 12 to Lightroom for Mac OS?

I never did it from Windows to Mac.
I assume you need to move everything to Mac PSE12 (or PSE 13) by downloading the 30 day free trial of PSE 12 or 13, and then once everything is working, use File->Upgrade Photoshop Elements Catalog in Lightroom. Your tags and albums will remain intact. I believe the face recognition transfers as well to keywords, but the location in the photo of the face will be gone as Lightroom has no such feature.

here my experience with the import from Photoshop Album to Lightroom.
1. Tags and Collection import

This is really annoying, as you have no way to know it
before you search for them.
3. Import of the edited version of the pictures

Import functionality is crap for now if you ask me.

Because I've used PSA, PS and now CS2 and 3 for years, I had really hoped--indeed, assumed--that LR would be an elegant and trouble-free solution with which to migrate a large and growing catalog away from the slowness and lack of view in PSA, as well as adding RAW-handling ability (since storage dropped through the floor, I shoot JPEG and RAW by default). While the LR interface is pretty and the fleur-de-lis whimsical, LR is in my admittedly-limited experience neither elegant nor trouble-free from a database perspective. Perhaps in a few versions it will be, but it isn't now. The PSA import was a joke, operations are slow, and despite preference settings, it fires up whenever I hook up anything which XP considers to be an external drive. I have since licensed a previously-installed demo copy of IMatch, which I'd been holding off doing based on my flased LR assumption. Importing PSA to IMatch requires some simple under-the-hood work in Access (there are posted routines to accomplish this), but once that was done the import was flawless, with all PSA tags in their own cubbyhole and associated with the proper images. Why Adobe didn't facilitate this is a real head-scratcher.

Importing from photoshop to iphoto

I want to import from photoshop to iphoto and keep getting an file unreadable message. I changed it from a psd to a jpeg.

Importing From photoshop to flash

After importing from photoshop to flash to create a website, the background image that i had within photoshop was set to 1304x700 pixels but when i imported it into flash the image changed to the canvas size that i had made the document in photoshop which was 1000x700 pixels. Now i can change the size of the image when it has been imported into flash to 1304x700 but it obviously messes up my pic quality.
Can someone please help me lol im new to this. I might go mad shortly, ive tried importing it three times now.

every single time tha u import a photosho document into flash just check the part at the botton of ur flash dialog box that it says set stage size to same size as photoshop canvas and the other to keep ur photoshop files at the same place and that set flash automaticly is going to set up ur satge at the same size of photoshop ...

Why is everything I import from Photoshop pixelated?

I'm using both Adobe After Effects CS5 and Adobe Photoshop CS5 and no matter what I import from Photoshop, wheather it'd be an image or text or anything, it is always pixelated.. It has nothing to do with the size because no matter what the scale is, it's always pixelated.. I'll create an image in Photoshop and then save it as either a .jpeg or a .png file and when I import them to After Effects they are very pixelated to the point where you can't make out what the image is.. Is there a setting I need to change or something? I need help fast.. Please help Adobe Community!

Do you see problems with text size when importing from Photoshop?

now specifically investigating trouble with imported text.
Aside from the desire to have support for local fonts, are there any problems you run into
when importing text from Photoshop into Reflow? We've heard some issues with text size and position,
but want to make sure we understand all of the cases.

I'm using CS4.. and I'm using the standard "Save As" .pdf features....
and I'm reading it with adobe acrobat pro 9.1...
i think it has something to do with compression. but i can't figure out how to solve it. converting the text to symbols maybe?

Blurring of images imported from photoshop?

I have latest version of iMovie and OS. When I import images from photoshop, I get blurring of the image and sometimes pixilation. I looks normal in the workspace viewer but when I play the timeline the image deteriorates.

Thanks for looking at my problem. When I looked carefully at the new name (thanks dj for telling me to do that) I realized that the name had parts of what I had added as a preset and applied in External Editing. What appears to have happened is that my original preset was corrupted and dropped out the part that told it to use the original file name. I have repaired it and now all is well. Thanks for the responses and the help! Much appreciated.

Decreased picture resolution when importing from Photoshop Elements

When I export pictures from Photoshop Elements 7.0 to Premier Elements 7.0 the resolution decreases significantly. I tried to "bypass" Photoshop by importing the pictures from my hard drive but ended up with the same problem.
Can anyone help me to locate a solution to this problem?

This is because, when you port your slideshow to Premiere Elements, it becomes video -- and video has a resolution of essentially 640x480 pixels at 72 ppi.
If you'd like to save your slideshow at full resolution, you'll need to use one of the other export options -- and you'll need to make it playable on a computer, which has a higher resolution than your TV.

Importing from Photoshop

I'm trying to import some photos from a file from Photoshop. Half the files will import and the other half will not. THey are all saved the same as jpegs however the last half cannot be read by iphoto. Any idea to correct this?

I am improting from my external hardrive. I have also saved to my internal hardrive to try eliminate the problem. However to no avale. Anyway, I am starting to wonder if it is a disk space issue. There are about 170 images to import. They are all saved as 4x6's @ 350dpi. The only reason why I want to import them is to create a slideshow of these files because they have been colour corrected. The other issue is that I did restart the computer and it worked. But, I went back to look at the slideshow yesterday and they weren't there. So that's why I think it's a memory issue. Should I try to save them at a smaller size that would be ideal for the slideshow. And what size would that be?

Premiere seems to "unflatten" certain layers after importing from Photoshop

Hi all
I have a layered PSD that I've imported in to Premiere so I can add video transitions to each layer. In Photoshop, I used the smudge and the motion blur filter on a few of the layers and then flattened those specific layers. I then brought the full PSD (with the flattened smudge/blur layers) in to Premiere and laid everything out on the timeline. It looks nice on the program monitor after I render, however, when I export the video as an MP4 (I haven't tried other formats), it appears that the smudge/blur layers became "unflattened" and it seems that the masks from Photoshop reappeared and the hidden pixels for the blur/smudge that were supposed to be "deleted" were back ! I wish I could provide a sample here, but it's a client project and I can't post it for public view.
Any thoughts? Anyone see this issue before?

I figured out my problem. I had to uncheck the "Maximum quality output" setting or something like that in the export dialogue box.

Trouble importing from Photoshop CS2

I'm have trouble importing my photoshop files to iphoto, the pictures come in black, and when I open them they are inverted?
Any help out there?

What color space are the pics? iPhoto supports RGB, if they are another - such as CMYK or GrayScale this will cause problems.

Imports from Photoshop CS2 after editing

I frequently use Photoshop CS2 to edit my digital photographs; however, I like to use iPhoto to view or otherwise manipulate the images into different albums, slideshows, or uploads to my .mac account. When I open iPhoto to import a photo edited in photoshop, I get an "Unreadable file" error message stating that the requested image is "an unrecognized file type or that the does not contain valid data." I can't get the edited photos added to the iPhoto library.
I've tried importing photos saved in several different formats - jpeg, RAW, TIFF - with no luck.
Is it possible to import an image into iPhoto from Photoshop? If so, what am I doing wrong? thank you.

Also if you set iPhoto to use PS as the editor of choice by going into iPhoto's General preferences and selecting PS in the "Edit photo:" menu. Then when you double click on a thumbnail, PS will open, you can edit the picture and save it. This way the thumbnail will be updated as well.
