3d File loads blank after crash despite still being a large file and retaining a thumbnail - is it possible to fix this?

I was working on texturing a 3D model with Photoshop CS6 Extended when photoshop crashed. Now my file loads completely blank for anyone with CS6 Extended. Other people without an extended version of photoshop are able to load the file as it appears in the thumbnail, but the file automatically rasterizes due to lack of 3D function. The file is still 42gbs (much large than a back up which loads fine) and shows a thumbnail of the 3D model, so SOMETHING is still there. My autorecovery function doesn't work; there's no recovery files available, only a file I saved shortly before the crash.
Any idea how I can fix this (if it's even possible)? I urgently need access those layers and to save out my texture.

Drag and drop didn't work because Quicken adamantly refused to accept what it considered a plain text file. That's why I wanted to restore the file type back to Quicken data.
Alas, Quicken now valiantly tries to open the file but can't due to what it calls a damaged resource map. (Or maybe a missing resource file?)

I've updated my Flash software but Firefox still reports it as outdated and automatically deactivates it. How can I fix this?

Firefox says that my Flash software is outdated and therefore vulnerable and automatically deactivates the software. When Firefox recognizes that I'm visiting a page that uses Flash for something it will give me a grey (typically) diagonally striped screen in the place where the Flash would be used with the option of "activating" Flash. But sometimes there are items on webpages that used to show up (and I guess use Flash) that, since this problem started, I can't see. It's also kind of a nuisance to have to activate it each time. But, ultimately, it's somewhat worrying that I've downloaded and installed the latest version of Flash a couple of times and it's still doing this. I'm not really sure what else to do.
Some background on what I'm working with. I'm running Firefox 23.0 and the "About Firefox" screen says I'm up to date. I'm running Mac OS X 10.6.8. When I go to the add-on page for Firefox, it tells me that the version of "Shockwave Flash" is 11.4.402.265. The package that I've downloaded and installed from the Adobe website is here: http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/completion/?installer=Flash_Player_11_for_Mac_OS_X_10.6_-_10.9.
Any thoughts?

hello, if the plugin-check page shows that you're still on version 11.4 something is wrong - 11.8.800.94 is the latest version that's avilable for your system. does the adobe support page for flash installation issues help?: http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/installation-problems-flash-player-mac.html

Unfortunately, I am still unable to open my core productivity apps, namely Skype and Evernote. Twitter, as well, could not start. But interesting quick fix though, I never knew you could do that.

I would like to inform you that not all the browsers and online PDF readers support copying text from a PDF. If you have opened the PDF online, please download PDF file to your computer and then open the file in Adobe Reader.

Do you have a back up? What version of iPhoto do you have? Assuming 09 or later:
Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Repair Database. If that doesn't help, then try again, this time using Rebuild Database.
If that fails:
Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. (In early versions of Library Manager it's the File -> Rebuild command. In later versions it's under the Library menu.)
This will create an entirely new library. It will then copy (or try to) your photos and all the associated metadata and versions to this new Library, and arrange it as close as it can to what you had in the damaged Library. It does this based on information it finds in the iPhoto sharing mechanism - but that means that things not shared won't be there, so no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your events, albums and keywords, faces and places back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.

had similar issues with my macbook(2010 running lion) and after a few restarts it would not restart anymore and is at the service center since saturday. i would suggest you do not use iTunes until this issue is addressed. seems to be macbooks that are having freeze up issues.

How can I stop iPhoto from reidentifying faces I have already 'crossed', while still being able to identify and sort new faces.

iPhoto has detected faces of people I dont know, in my 'iPhoto faces' whenever I click the cross in the corner of the face (when sorting faces) the face temporarily disappears, but once I have uploaded a fresh batch of photos (and want to identify new faces) it automatically re-identifies the old photos that I don't want to have to sort again. How do I identify the people in my new photos without clicking 'find faces'. See if you have most of the songs with 'Exclamation' symbol precede the name under your music library.
If so, double click a song with ! mark on side, you will be given an option to locate the file where the song is held. Select "locate" and direct it to your External Drive folder / file where the song is and open it.
iTunes then will give you the option to use this process to update all of your library. OK that as this will fix all automatically instead of doing them one by one.

This is in regards to a 4th gen 40gb clickwheel ipod.
Hi, i've also been having a very similar problem with my ipod as well. I find that regardless of which windows-based pc i use (either my xp laptop @ home, or my win2000 desktop @ work) windows and itunes refuses to recognise my ipod. In windows explorer it will show it as a removable drive, but if i click on it, windows freezes. If I try to disconnect it, I cant because windows keeps reporting that 'the device is being used, try disconnecting later' and so then i shut down my laptop to disconnect it safely.
Lately, like you, i've also noticed that clicking sound it makes. It happens when i connect my ipod to my computer - like the drive inside it is constantly restarting or something, and i get it when i'm playing / charging it in my dock. I've also noticed that when it's playing whilst charging, it just freezes on a song, then skips a couple of songs.
I've just discovered the disgnostic tools on my ipod, so i think i'll run a couple of tests (ie HDD scan) and depending on the outcome, i'll go visit the apple store.

Strange file transfer problems after crash

Old computer crashed, bought new old computer saved old hard drive containing old installation of Itunes and used that drive on new computer in the same position as it was in old. Installed Itunes in the same directory as it was before crash. Most of my files, video, text, music all loaded and transformed just fine....except photos. When it started the sync it went part way through the process and then stopped with an error message that said: "This ipod (Ipod Touch) cannot sync because of an unknown error (-39).
As a result, two new photos that I was moving to a new directory are no longer there, sorta...the ipod touch now shows a black space where the two pics thumbnails in question were. One of them still comes up with the pic when you click on the black thumbnail but the other simply opens an all black screen.
I attempted to remove and re-install Itunes but the problem remained. I also attempted to remove all setup files, temp files etc. but still no luck. I tried removing ALL the photos and re-inserting in the affected category but the same warning and now ALL the thumbnails in that directory are black (but still show up in full size when you click on the thumbnail or click through the listing arrows the pics still show up (except the one totally black one). Not sure what to do at this point.

That one can be caused by a damaged photo cache, Orion. If you delete your photo cache as per the following document:

... can you then get your photo syncs to work correctly?

I did "db_checkpoint -1; db_archive -d". After this, I still see a log file with 10M size. Is this normal? I can understand that we need to keep a log file. But the file size is so big. Maybe db will ignore those content in the log file?

The db_archive utility with -d option is going to remove any log files that are no longer needed at the time the command is executed. At least one log file remains at any time (that is, the one with the highest number).
The default log file size is 10 MB. If you want to change that, you'll have to configure [lg_max|http://www.oracle.com/technology/documentation/berkeley-db/db/api_reference/C/envset_lg_max.html].
