3d graph blank in Labview 6.0.3, why?

I was able to run an application with a 3d graph when running LV 5.1. However, I don't seem to be able to see a three D graph now that I am running LV6.0.3. Can't even get the NI supplied 3D graph examples to display a graph. Graph just remians blank.
Any ideas anyone?
Cheers

Hi all
in response to my query yesterday regarding blank 3dGraphs, Daniel harding, one of the engineers at NI sent me this. His workaround solved the problem.
After doing some research, I uncovered a known issue with LabVIEW RT 6.0.3

How to let the user define the colors for each plots in the graph (I
    use LabVIEW 7)?

    Hi,
Take a look at this example, it uses property nodes to select tha
active plot and then changes the color of that plot.
If you want to make the number of plots dynamic you could use a for
loop and an array of color boxes.
    I hope this helps.

  • How to generate an s-curve graph/chart in labview

I would like to generate my s-curve shape in a visible graph in a labview vi. Are there any quick/dirty vi's that can take position, accel/decel, vel and jerk value, and plot this into a time graph? Something akin Motion Assistant...
I am able to construct a trapazoid graph using basic algebra within lab view, but cannot find a good formula to compute an s-curve. I am familiar with converting the jerk value to actual counts/s^3, but from there on, I do not know how NI-Motion calculates to accel, decel and velocity times. Thanks.

    Hello,
What versions of LabVIEW and Motion Assistant are you using? Motion Assistant 1.2 exposes its API to LabVIEW and these functions can be accessed by opening LabVIEW and navigating to All Functions >> NI Measurements >> Motion >> Motion Assistant. Using these VIs, you can set up a move and use the Get Move Profile VI to obtain an array of points for the velocity profile.
Beyond this method, there is no straightforward way to obtain those datapoints.
If you have any questions about this method, please let me know.

I have had a similar problem with my system. I just recently (within a week of this post) built a brand new desktop. I installed Windows 7 64-bit Home and had a clean install, no problems. Using IE downloaded an anti-virus program, and then, because it was the latest version, downloaded and installed Firefox 4.0. As I began to search the internet for other programs to install after about maybe 10-15 minutes my computer crashes. Blank screen (yet monitor was still receiving a signal from computer) and completely frozen (couldn't even change the caps and num lock on keyboard). I thought I perhaps forgot to reboot after an update so I did a manual reboot and it started up fine.
When ever I got on the internet (still using firefox) it would crash after anywhere between 5-15 minutes. Since I've had good experience with FF in the past I thought it must be either the drivers or a hardware problem. So in-between crashes I updated all the drivers. Still had the same problem. Took the computer to a friend who knows more about computers than I do, made sure all the drivers were updated, same problem. We thought that it might be a hardware problem (bad video card, chipset, overheating issues, etc.), but after my friend played around with my computer for a day he found that when he didn't start FF at all it worked fine, even after watching a movie, or going through a playlist on Youtube.
At the time of this posting I'm going to try to uninstall FF 4.0 and download and install FF 3.6.16 which is currently on my laptop and works like a dream. Hopefully that will do the trick, because I love using FF and would hate to have to switch to another browser. Hopefully Mozilla will work out the kinks with FF 4 so I can continue to use it.
I apologize for the lengthy post. Any feedback would be appreciated, but is not necessary. I will try and post back after I try FF 3.16.6.

The App Store update page has gone blank on my ipad, any clue why or how to fix? Updated everything and synced. App Sore icon shows there are updates.

Until Apple resolves this problem, when you are in the App Store, if you have updates, try going to your "Purchased" Apps and you can update from there. Apps with updates will show "Update" next to them, just tap on "Update" and the update will be installed.

My brand new 2.9GHz quad-core Intel Core i5 JUST straight out of the box worked for 20 minutes, long enough to sort Apple ID etc,  then froze to a blank screen with Vertical lines.  Why! any ideas before I send back to store. Thanks
ps: mavericks not installed on it yet, didn't even have chance to do anything with it!

    None. Take it back ASAP.

  • 3d graph blank - active x

I began to experiment with the 3D Graphs a while back, and although the LabVIEW example VIs initially had blank graphs I managed to sort this out and had a simple VI of my own working nicely.  I followed the advice here (last post) http://forums.ni.com/ni/board/message?board.id=170&message.id=32060&query.id=437763#M32060, and think I did something with the tools menu: advanced, import active x controls.  I came back to this recently and the graphs are blank again - and this time I can't fix it.  I'm afraid it might be something to do with licensing / a trial period having expired, although I'm quite certain when I first had the charts working there weren't any messages about a trial period.  Maybe I've just forgotten how I really fixed it last time.  Any ideas?  I don't have a clue what I am/am not licensed for.  I'm using version 6i.

Hi.  Thanks for the reply.  I tried repairing LabVIEW in the Control Panel and got this error: "Error applying transforms.  Verify that the specified transform paths are valid" (and activex still not working).
I also found this useful discussion
    http://forums.ni.com/ni/board/message?board.id=170&message.id=31072&query.id=31688#M31072
and tried a few things it suggested (e.g. registering the .ocx file etc - got an error there too: "a DLL initialization routine failed").  Any more ideas other than re-installation?

  • Graph plot in labview to get time in seconds or minutes in X axis starting from 0.

How can we obtain time starting from 0 seconds or 0 minutes on X axis in a chart and XY graph in labview. When I plot it is showing the system time on   X axis.I would prefer the time to start from 0 ( seconds) , rather than system time. Please reply.

I have NI cDAQ 9174 chasis and NI 9211 and NI 9207 for thermocouple (NI 9211) and current (NI 9207).Can I acquire all three data inputs within a single DAQ Assistant express vi.Because I tried to access all 3 in one DAQ Assisstant , but it was not accepting it.So I had to place one DAQ Assisstant for thermocouple readings and another for current. For reference I have attached my labview diagram.

  • Graph XY with Labview 6

    Hi everybody,
i have Labview 6.0 and I want to produce a XY graph with two inputs that I collect them from multimetrs, but i don't know how to do.
    Can anybody help me plese.
I think it is necessary to make a index array but I don't know how.
Can any body send me the Vi?
    Thanks

Well, your voltage is an array and your frequency is a single numeric. We need more information.
At each iteration of the loop...
Do you want to add a single point (e.g. the first array element of the voltage vs frequency, the average voltage vs frequency, etc.)
Do you want to add multiple points (each of the new voltages in the array vs the same frequency)?
Attachied is an image of one possible solution (graphing the average voltage vs frequency). Sorry, I no longer have LabVIEW 6.0.
As you can see, I have eliminated the stacked sequence. It is completely unecessary. It complicates the diagram, hides code, and forces backwards wires. Dataflow completely determies the correct execution order.
Growing arrays inside while loops may cause performance issues if the VI runs for extended periods of time and the arrays grow without bounds. There are many slightly more complicated variations that can address these issues. How long does the loop run. Do you need to graph all data or only e.g. the last 1000 points?

  • Spectrogram Graph Curser Crashes Labview

I was wondering if anybody else have this happen to them. I'm trying to set the location of the cursor on a spectrogram (intensity graph) (the x value), and it crashes Labview. I tried compiling to a .exe, and it still does the same on another computer.

Poster une question en français sur le forum anglais. Peut-être plus de chances en la postant ici.

  • Firefox crashes when I load any youtube video on the latest version, it not only crashes firefox but my whole computer goes blank and I have to restart, why is this?

Backstory: There are two possible events that could be causing this
1: At some point I may have followed a ''Tinyurl' link that consquently lead me to a youtube video, to which youtube worked perfectly fine before hand, and this is where i witnessed the first crash. Theories into whether this link, previously stated, may have done something to my system have been thought about, but the fact that youtube still works on the latest Microsoft Internet Explorer seems to present the idea of a virus or an error redundant. I own the latest Macfee antivirus software and Ccleaner(running the registry check) and have run them complete with disc defragment and scan disc error recovery along with an additional malware scanner. Nothing seems to have come up on anything. After doing all this, my last resort was System restore and this seemed to solve the problem, mainly because i had an earlier version of firefox. therefore i resisted updating for aslong as possible whenever it told me to update. but the otherday i thought i'd risk it again thinking it may have been a problem alot of people have been having and it would of been fixed, but sadly it hasn't. this lead me to google the problem and was advised to start firefox on 'safe mode' as there may have been a confliction between add ons or plugins with youtube or some thing like that, but sadly that hasn't worked either. The plugins i had installed with it were the ones firefox has told me to get, or recommended and the only two addons i had on firefox was Adblock plus (fanboy subscrip) and Noscript.
Details of what actually happens: go to a youtube link, video loads for about 2 seconds(both video and audio), screen freezes, and flashes maybe once with some small lines across the bottom half of the screen horizontally towards the right corner, then the screen goes blank and makes my laptop dorment, but still running, thus I restart my system.
Sadly now when I system restore there isn't a point far back enough before this problem. So its either i downgrade(which seems to be the only option) or simply stop using firefox, as internet explorer works perfectly fine. however running firefox with no scrip and adblock plus is the ideal browser customisation, which is why this is rather annoying.
so number 1 was the tinyurl theory and i must admit i was abit foolish to follow such a random link, but whats happened has happened.
2: basically there is a major disfunction with the latest firefox that has to with the addons i have included onto firefox and this seems to be causing a terrible effect on my system.
in a nutshell: firefox worked perfectly before upgrading to the new firefox and before i followed this link, the rest of my system is completely normal and virus and error free or so it says, Other browsers seem to work also. safe mode does not cure the problem.
Running on a customised Dell laptop, which is pretty midrange-toprange and hasn't been active long, so it has the general HD video card thats included in all Studio 15 Dell laptops.
    any help appreciated.
    cheers.

  • It seems that NI dropped the Activex Events from the Control Panel in LabVIEW 7.0. Why???

I have Labview 6.0/6.1 Activex vi's that no longer work in LabView 7.0 There are no longer ActiveX Events vi's in the Communications->ActiveX control set. What is the deal with that??? Pretty much makes my $2400 upgrade investment worth nothing as far as I can see.

    kup,
Are you sure that your VIs no longer work? They should. The support VIs are located in "vi.lib\Platform\ax-events.llb". The functionality was not taken away, the VIs were simply removed from the function palette. Also, ActiveX Events may now also be handled using calback VIs. This is much better, IMO. Seach the examples for "ActiveX" and "callback".
