3D Graph indicator not loading

First off let me say that the code works on two other (dev) PCs; but when run on my clients PC - when the program launches the front panel seems to load correctly except where the 3D graph indicator is the area still displays whatever was on the monitor previously (ie that square never gets repainted). All three PCs are Win7 and running LV12
So this isn't a LabVIEW problem but something with the PC graphics? or video settings?
Just thought maybe this is a common thing with 3D graphs(?) and maybe someone can point me in the right direction to a solution.
Thanx

Solved!
Go to Solution.

well that "old" driver is on my dev machine and the 3D graph works fine; finally got into my client's facility and his drivers are dated April 2012 much newer than mine and everything is enabled (see attachment). While attempting to get the screen shot I noticed he had PrintKey 2000 installed for getting screen captures. Thought that this might be interacting with the video (?) so I turned it off, but that didn't help. For what it is worth, I am using LV 2012 Professional version and on my client's machine he has installed LV2012 Full Development System, which should not be a problem, according to Help the Full Dev Sys does support 3D graphs. Wondering if building an EXE might help (but it shouldn't).
Anyone have any thoughts?

Try turning of the Multi-threaded server option (i.e. comment out "mts" references in the init[SID].ora file). This appears to be an MTS-related bug.

  • To get rid of "Load Indicator not Supported by OS!" - del MTS if u r not into IIOP.

During database creation, even if you choose "Dedicated Server Mode" instead of "Shared Server Mode" (for MTS), you will actually be using dedicated server processes for Net8 BUT you will still use MTS for IIOP connections. That's why you have those MTS_ entries in your INIT.ORA file.
The reason is IIOP connections to 8i can only be done with MTS.
So, if you are not interested or will not use 8i to handle IIOP connections (in that case, maybe stick with 8.0.5 or use OAS ), comment out all MTS entries in your INIT.ORA file, restart the instance / database.
You will then notice that the alert log has no more "Load Indicator not supported by OS" entries, while the pmon trace file will have only one entry for that message, just after startup, but never again.
If you are interested on IIOP connections ( e.g.: the reason you chose 8i instead of 8.0.5 and OAS ), then I think Oracle is the only one who can answer this problem. Or maybe somebody with a support contract with Oracle can ask Oracle about this.
So what does the error message mean? From what I have read, an 8i listener registered with multiple 8i dispatchers chooses the dispatcher that has the least load.
However, even if I specify in my INIT.ORA that there is only one dispatcher (therefore assuming that it won't have to check the load of the dispatcher since there is only one to choose from), it still generates the error message.

Unfortunately, the RAM shortage on my PC mandates the use of MTS. I've modified the
startup procedures to clean up the trace & log files, so my filesystem doesn't get filled up to the brim. I can live with the few messages in my trace & log files.

  • 8i: Load Indicator not supported by OS!

I get a message in my PMON background dump file that
reports 'Load Indicator not supported by OS!'. I am not sure
what this is referring to, what the impact is on the stability
of the instance, or what to do about it.
I am running Oracle8i 8.1.5.0.1 (yes, the new patch) on RedHat
6.0. I got the same message prior to installing the patch. I
even built a new database to see if it was related to 8.1.5.0.0,
but I still get the same thing. The problem occurs even with no
one connected to the instance (there is only one instance on
this machine). The error message keeps repeating and the dump
    file keeps growing.
Is anyone else seeing this? Is there something I need to
configure into my kernel? I am running kernel version 2.2.10

According to my information, which was obtained in a private
conversation, the new Oracle8i feature that is supposed to
help with load balancing, namely the resource allocation plans,
uses a facility that doesn't exist on Linux. As those resource
plans are checked frequently by PMON, the message is being
constantly reiterated. You can limit the size of a trace file
to 10k and the message will stop. It would be nice to have a
    parameter to disable this feature.

When I wire any type of indicator it is showing just one output of a single channel.
I want 2 indicators showing 2 different signals as expected from the 2 channels configured. How to do this?
I have tried using split signal but it end up showing only 1 output from 1 signal in both the indicators.
    thanks in advance.

Yes you are right. I tried that but I did not get the result.
I just found the way. When we launch split signal, we should expand it (split signal icon) from above and not from below. It took me a while to figure out this.

  • Need more Info about "Load transactional data when master data not loaded"

    Hi,
Can you please explain me this option in the infopackage " Load transactional data when master data is not loaded"....
Say i load a transactional data record which has a material no. AAAXX.
In the fact table, the material no. is replaced with the corresp. DIM ID.
Now, assume that there is no entry for this Material no.
AAAXX in the master data table...so no DIM ID for it..
How is it then stored in the fact table ?
Hope i have managed to explain the scenario..
    Thanks in advance,
    Punkuj

    Hello Punkuj K,
    How r u ?
No, if the entry for that Material Number "AAAXX" is not there in the Master Data then it will create a SIDs & DIMs ID for that & Transaction Data will be loaded.
    Use
Choose this indicator if you want to always update the data, even if no master data for the navigation attributes of the loaded records exists. The master data is generated from the loaded transaction data. The system draws SIDs. You can subsequently load the master data.
    Dependencies
The texts, attributes, and hierarchies are not recognized by the system. Load the texts / attributes / hierarchies for the corresponding InfoObjects separately.
This function corresponds to the update. Possible errors when reading the master data into the update rules are not associated with this indicator.
    Recommendation
We recommended loading the master data into the productive systems in advance. Select this indicator especially in test systems.
    Best Regards....

Use of any software made available for download from this system constitutes your acceptance of the Export Control Terms and the terms in the Toshiba end-user license agreement both of which you can view before downloading any such software.
    Information:
Many Toshiba PCs can boot (start Windows, or another operating system) from devices other than the built-in hard disk (HDD) or built-in diskette drive (FDD). These devices include USB diskette drives, CD-ROM discs, a local area network (LAN), and PC Card (PCMCIA) hard disk drives.
Toshiba PCs that offer alternate boot devices allow you to specify which device to boot from (the 'boot priority') by three methods:
    From BIOS Setup (semi-permanent setting)
Boot priority specifies the order in which the computer searches for a bootable operating system. For example, if you set your system to boot from devices in this order: CD-ROM > HDD > LAN, the computer first checks for a bootable CD, then for a bootable HDD, then for a bootable LAN, and loads the operating system from the first one it finds.
Different models offer different options for setting boot priority. For information about how to access the BIOS/CMOS settings on your Toshiba PC, please see the Support Bulletin entitled "How to access the BIOS Settings on your Toshiba Portable PC" that is applicable to your model. By setting the boot priority in this manner, the boot selected priority setting will be retained for all future restarts, until it is changed again.
From the Boot Device Menu (temporary setting)
When the TOSHIBA splash screen is displayed when you first turn on your computer, a boot menu prompt may be displayed for a few seconds near the bottom of the screen, indicating that a key (F2 or F12, for example) can be pressed to display a menu of boot options. The time allowed for detecting the keypress is very brief, so you'll need to be both prepared and quick.
On some models this prompt reads Press F12 for boot menu. On others, it may say Press C to boot from CD-ROM. On still others, there may be a row of colored icons representing the various boot devices (HDD, FDD, CD, LAN, PCMCIA, etc.) Press F12 while these icons are displayed, and then use the arrow keys to move the cursor from one to another. As new models are released, the wording of these prompts may change.
On models that offer a text boot device menu, simply press the key corresponding to the desired boot device from the list of available devices.
The selection of a boot device from any of these boot device menus affects only the current startup operation; the next time the computer is started it will follow the boot priority setting established in BIOS Setup (see the BIOS Setup method, above).
From the Boot Device Hotkeys (temporary setting)
Immediately after pressing the power-on button, press the hotkey for the device from which you wish to boot:
    Hotkey Boots from device
    C IDE CD-ROM1
    F ISA FDD2
    U USB FDD3
    N internal LAN adapter4
The computer will boot from the selected device if it finds a bootable operating system, otherwise it will search for a bootable device, following the boot priority set in BIOS Setup.
"IDE CD-ROM" refers to the computer's internal CD-ROM drive (built-in, SelectBay, or built-in to a Toshiba docking device).
"ISA FDD" refers to an internal or SelectBay diskette drive, or an external diskette drive that connects to the PC through a special Toshiba-proprietary connector.
Not all models support booting from a USB-connected diskette drive.
Not all models support the hotkey for the internal LAN adapter, even though they may support booting from LAN.
The selection of a boot device from Boot Device Hotkeys affects only the current startup operation; the next time the computer is started it will follow the boot priority setting established in BIOS Setup (see the BIOS Setup method, above).
    Notes:
Booting from a CD in a CD-ROM drive requires that the CD be made bootable when it is created ('burned'). Simply copying files to a CD does not make it bootable.
If a "PXE..." error is displayed when you start the computer, it indicates that the computer is attempting to boot from a network (LAN), but is not able to find a remote boot server. If this happens repeatedly, and you are not deliberately trying to boot from a network server, change the boot priority in BIOS Setup to make 'LAN' the last entry in the list of boot devices.

  • Ping shot up and pages not loading correctly

    Hi guys,
For some reason there appears to be a slight problem and I'm not entirely sure what it is.
My ping is fluctuating around 110-160ms and the connection is not being stressed in any way. Also, the ping to the exchange/POP is 8/7ms and it also is to the 3rd hop. If my connection was being stressed the ping to the 3rd hop would be massive but it isnt as seen below:

Anyone know what is going on? It is very frustrating; Facebook isn't even loading correct and I've left it for 5 minutes now.

The test above is obviously carried out on BTw's network but the tracert is very weird; some hops after the suspect one report normal pings but the BBC doesn't?
Anyone have any ideas what is going on?

Pings appear to have settled down, but I'll monitor it over the next 24-hours. Those high pings for the exchange on the TBB graph are not a one off though.
Apologies over the stats; they are displaying on my end. That range problem is one of the reasons I don't use a HomeHub; I use a Billion 7800N.

  • 3D Line Graph.vi not displaying line connecting data points.

I'm having trouble getting 3D Line Graph.vi to display the line connecting my data points.  I'm collecting latitude, longitude, and depth data from a binary file, loading this data into arrays with a while loop, and sending those arrays to 3D Line Graph.vi.  When I tried doing it with arrays created by random number generators, the line is displayed, but when I use it with my actual data, no lines are displayed.  I can only see where the data points are when rotating the 3D graph.  Any ideas on this would be appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Morgan

    Karunya,
Thanks for the info on the 3-D Curve VI.  I tried it and it works.  I think I was able to find the problem with 3D Line Graph.vi.  It has something to do with plotting very close points away from the origin and scaling the axes to view the line.  I have attached an example of where the vi breaks down.  In this example, you can see that part of the line is drawn, but when you rotate the graph, you can see that the line is not drawn through all of the points.  If you change the scale of the axes, then you eventually get the line to go through all of the points, but then the graph is not very "readable" at that point.  It's when you try to zoom in really close to the plotted points.
    Thanks!
    Morgan

  • Graphs do not update when hidden

I have a tab control where each tab has a graph that is embedded inside of a typedef. When the program is executing and I change tabs, it takes a few seconds for the graph to update even though the data has been long posted. This would be ok, except when the program ends and I change to a tab, it does not update the control accordingly.
Why does this happen. Are there any solutions?

These pictures show the tab control. The graph and numeric control are a custom control on the tab page. During the test I use a reference to the custom control to read the numeric control and write to the graph using the value node. Probing this point shows the data being written to the value node but unless the particular page is open at the time it doesn't get written to the display. I even tried writing to the "value (signaling)" and using an event to write the data to a value node rather than a reference but it still doesn't update the display unless that tab is visible at the time.
The only way to do it seems to be putting a graph indicator on the tab and writing to that directly. It means a lot of recoding and a messier result :-(
