3D graphics quite working after app crash

I have x64 Win 7 installed via bootcamp and all was well at one time.  I really only use it to play FlightSimX.  One day FlightSim crashed and when I went to reopen the app it stated my video card did not support 3D graphics.  This was after months of playing FlightSim on that video card.   I don't feel there are any issues with the card itself because when I'm in OSX I have zero display issues.  I am using Lion.
Things I have tried:
dxdiag shows all 3d support as not available
attempting to calculate my windows experience number crashes every time at the windows media decoding portion
update video drivers off fo the ATI website using the latest mac driver for that model.
update video drivers via the latest bootcamp drivers disk (created a new disk last night) and it had zero affect.
Windows is up-to-date as of yesterday
I'm at a loss and really don't want to reinstall Win to get this working as I'm sure it will happen again and without knowing the fix I'd be in a cycle of reinstalling.
...any suggestions???

I would not use any "boot camp" or "Mac" driver.
I would clean the drivers, uninstall and "sweep" and then run chkdsk and clean temp folder. Then use Nov 2011 drivers.
you should be able to rollback or restore to prior check point, and make a system image when you have it up properly.
then monitor temps and boost the fans when you stress system or gpu.

    Time Machine quit working after I downloaded and installed the latest security upgrade 10.9.2. Any suggestions?

    I'm not sure this is what you want. There are a lot of repeated, multi-line patterns that I left in simply because I really don't know what I'm doing.  My apologies if there is too much irrelevant information. Also, the logs did not go all the way back to when the problem started.

  • HT2090 External iSight camera quit working after upgrade.

    My external iSight camera quite working after OS upgrade. It appears the Firewire port is dead. Camera doesn't turn on, no green light. The camera is not recognized by any software.

    Restart your Mac and troubleshoot using http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2090 suggestions.
    Be sure to test more than one Apple app in more than one user account.  Do NOT use the "Guest" account for this test.  If you do not have more than one user account for the testing, create a new one now.  (A "Standard" account is all you need for testing.)
    If your trouble persists, when you post back here tell us:
       (1) what version of OS X you use.
            (You can find this with your Mac's  > About This Mac menu command.)
       (2) Whether the "upgrade" you mean was an OS X upgrade, an iOS upgrade, or both,
       (3) whether your external iSight works with Apple apps like Photo Booth, iMovie, etc.
            If not, confirm that the symptoms are EXACTLY the same in every user account.
    We will offer more specific suggestions based on the details you provide in your response.

  • Nano quit working after update to version 1.2

    Brand new nano quit working after update to version 1.2 It worked fine before. My computer see usb storage device but doesn't recognise ipod. ipod updater that worked to let me update doesnt regonise nano either. I returned to store where I bought it, got a new one, brought it home, ran updater again now it the new one is doing the same thing. What gives? I have never had a problem in the past with updater. Is there any way to take it back to version 1.1 since 1.2 doesn't work?

    This fix came from Caspar (Thank you SOOO much!). It took me 10 minutes to do this and now my beloved ipod nano is back! Hopefully this will help some of you:
    Original Problem: Updated iTunes(6.0.5) and iPod nano (1.2). After the update, iTunes would not recognize my iPod and therefore would not let me remove the iPod from my computer, which seems to be the problem most people are having.
    The Fix:
    *uninstall iTunes, iPod, and any updates (make sure anything related to these two programs are not on your computer)
    *Open Control Panel
    *Click the "switch to classic view" link, if
    necessary
    *Double click "administrative tools"
    *Double click "computer management"
    *Under "storage" click on "disk management"
    *Find your iPod's listing
    *Right-click on it and click "format"
    *Select "FAT32" and start the format
    *After reformatting, remove iPod from computer
    *Download iTunes directly from the Apple website (I didn't restart my computer at the prompt)
    *Download 6/28/06 update for iPod (do NOT plug iPod in before doing this!)
    *Open update for iPod and wait until prompt to plug iPod in (do not plug in early)
    *Wait for the update....and there ya have it!!
    Hopefully this will help some people, as I have spent the past 2 weeks doing the 5R's thing. After completing the steps above, I haven't had a problem with my iPod..and now my Nike+ works!! Thanks again, Caspar...you're a genius!!
    p.s. if this helps, please repost this message to others who have the same problem as we do...

  • Garmin GLO portable GPS quit working after latest Apple update

    Garmin GLO quit working after latest Apple update ?

    I am using Mountain Lion. I reset the system a thousand times. The Mac communicates fine with the printer, that's not the problem.  Somehow, recently something changed in the ppd file for the LaserJet 1320 that it simply does not print properly. For instance, I sent a job to print two pages, and use the duplex. The duplex works, but then the other side comes out empty.  Is there a place I can find the old - less secure, I don't care, I just want to print - ppd file for controlling the printer? I think the printer only supports certain level of Postscript commands, and the new ppd file expects a new level. This printer is 8 years old after all. If I plug the printer in Linux, it prints the same document fine.
    Thanks for any help

  • Camera API problem after app crashed (winrt)

    Dear Sirs.
    I am developing windows phone runtime app (8.1) and testing it on my Nokia Limia 520 smartphone.
    I work with Camera Api (CameraPreviewImageSource from Nokia.Graphics.Imaging (Nokia Imaging SDK v 1.2.151 from NuGet)). But I think this package is not important info.
    Sometimes, after using camera api many times, for instance more than 30th the app crahes. The reason of app crash in my view not important too. (Of course it is important but I ask about restore phone state after the app crashes because it may happens after
    the memory consumption exception for example)
    I think because app crahes I don't call Dispose method for Camera Api and after I restart the app I see the green screen in the view where I use camera api to show user images from the camera. Also I see the green screen when I launch the standart app for capturing
    photo.
    It will fix only when I restart the phone.
    I have tried to do the following things:
    1) Add handler for OnSuspending event:
      private async void OnSuspending(object sender, SuspendingEventArgs e)
                var deferral = e.SuspendingOperation.GetDeferral();
                //cleanup camera resources
                await CleanupCaptureResourcesAsync();
                deferral.Complete();
    2) Add handler for OnUnhandledException event:
    private void OnUnhandledException(object sender, UnhandledExceptionEventArgs e)
            e.Handled = true;
            CleanupCaptureResourcesAsync().GetAwaiter().GetResult();
            Frame rootFrame = Window.Current.Content as Frame;
            if (rootFrame!=null) rootFrame.Navigate(typeof (BlankPage11), null);
    CleanupCaptureResourcesAsync method:
     public async Task CleanupCaptureResourcesAsync()
                if (CameraPreviewImageSource != null)
                    CameraInitialized = false;
                    await CameraPreviewImageSource.StopPreviewAsync();
                    CameraPreviewImageSource.Dispose();
                    CameraPreviewImageSource = null;
    It is works when I relaunch the app (manualy close and start it again). But when exception occurs it is not works.
    Could you please help me? How can I handle an exception, or if it not possible in some ways (as I have read at https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dn532194.aspx) is there any way to restore Camera Api after app launched again (after crash)?
    Best regards,
    Aleksandr Terentev

    Thank you for your answer.
    However, I think the WinDebug wouldn’t help me enough. Because apps may crash in many situations. In my view I need either app global exception mechanism for the purpose of releasing camera api by calling Dispose method when an exception
    occurs or mechanism for restoring the state of the phone camera api after app has crashed.
    Yes, I can save the realtime app status but it wouldn’t help. Because when you try to initialize camera api again it wouldn’t work because the app didn’t call Dispose method and didn’t release the phone camera api.
    This situation is described in the MSDN article:
     “It is extremely important that you properly shut down and dispose of the MediaCapture object and related objects when your app is suspended. Failure to do so could interfere with other apps accessing the device's camera which will
    result in a negative user experience for your app.”
    (https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/windows/apps/xaml/dn642092.aspx)
    But when the app crashes, OnSuspending event won’t be triggered, in my view. Therefore, after this no one app can use the camera and you have to restart your phone.

  • IPhone 5 update 6.1.3 speaker quit working after update

    After update 6.1.3 on my iPhone 5 my speaker quit working. Did a restore still nothing. Headphones work just fine. No speaker phone or music.

    Plugged into iTunes - told me to update to 6.1.3.  Did its thing... and no sound from speaker.  This happened immediately following the completion of the update - I didn't even pick up the phone.  ***!
    Headphone works fine, but I get zippo from the speaker except an occasional crackle.
    Turned off BT, reset settings, plugged and unplugged the headphones (to see if the sensor was stuck), rebooted the phone, did a restore to factory, everything I could think of.  Speaker is dead.
    Don't  perform this update - something's wrong.
    Now I've got a useless piece of junk and I keep missing incoming calls.  Nice job Apple!

  • My speakers on my macbook receiently quit working after I had been using some headphones. My headphones still work whenever I plug them in with both increase and decrease in volume. I have also noticed a red light on the inside of the headphone jack.

    My speakers on my macbook pro quit working the other day after using my headphones. when I try to adjust the speakers my screen indicator sayes that it is at full volume on the bar but also muted(circle with line through it). I also noticed a red light inside my headphone jack. My headphones still work including volume. Any quick fix?

    Hopefully one of these steps should solve the problem.
    1. System Preference > Sound > Output > Internal Speakers
        Make sure Mute is not enabled.
    2. Remove the headphone.
        If you see red light in the headphone port, plug the headphone
        in and out of the port 5 or 6 times to flip the microswitch inside.
        Sound output may be stuck in the digital mode.
    3. Reset PRAM.  http://support.apple.com/kb/PH4405
    4. Reset SMC.     http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3964

  • HT4623 Wi-fi quit working after i updated the iphone. What should i do?

    Wi-fi quit working on iphone 4s after os update. What should i do?

    It would seem the printer has lost the network information since it is flashing and power cycling the printer did not work.
    This means it needs to be treated as a new installation to get it back on the network since it is a USB to wireless setup.
    This will require a computer on the same wireless network and a USB cable to send the network information to the printer.
    Uninstall the printer completely from the system.
    1.  Install the printer again and choose Network when prompted for the setup type.
    2.  Connect the USB cable when prompted.
    3.  Follow all the prompts during the installation and disconnect the USB cable when prompted.
    At this point, it should be back on the network.
    The newest software can be found by clicking on Support & Drivers at the top of this page and entering your printer's model for software and driver downloads.

  • Ethernet quit working after installing Lion

    I had a clean install of Lion and everything seemed to be working well. All of a sudden, after three days, my ethernet connection quit working. I can continue to connect through my Airport. I tried another computer on my wired network and it worked fine so I know the network is not at fault. Connecting the ethernet cable causes me to lose my connection even with Airport on. Any ideas?

    Just got a call from the Apple Service rep. His solution worked-no idea why, but he said the problem was in some sort of "confusion" caused by the Location identification for the ethernet connection after the upgrade to Lion. Steps to fix the problem:
    - Open System Preferences-Network
    - Turn off Wi-Fi
    - Select Ethernet and delete the connection (hit the - button at the bottom left)
    - Hit the + button to establish a new connection. Select Ethernet in the dropdown next to Interface. Hit Create
    - Select the Assist me... button at bottom, and then press the Assistant... button on the popup
    - An Introduction screen appears which has a box with a Location designated for the new connection
    - Hit Continue
    - Select the appropriate modem being used to connect to the internet and hit Continue
    - Hit Continue on the next screen
    - Do not fill in any of the information on the screen that appears. Hit the Go Back button and then close out the Network Setup Assistant. Apparently, by going this far, you've established a new Location so no need to complete the setup if you've had an internet connection which was working.
    At this point you're back on the Network Preferences screen, and my Ethernet connection reflected that I was connected and had an IP address. When I opened Safari and Chrome, both opened correctly with my home page and all seemed back to normal. I'll repost if the connection does not hold.
    I hope this helps others with this problem.

  • Dragon NaturallySpeaking quit working after Flash updated

    When Shockwave Flash updated to 11.6, Dragon NaturallySpeaking v 10 Professional quit working as soon as I opened Firefox (v20) and said "mouse click"!  An error message popped up with nothing written on it and nothing I said would make it go away.  In fact, NaturallySpeaking quit working period.  I cannot use my hands at all, so I had to wait for someone to restart the computer before NaturallySpeaking started working again. But as soon as I opened Firefox and tried to click on something, the same thing happened.  After much time and frustration, we finally figured out that NaturallySpeaking would start working again with Firefox IF the Shockwave Flash plug-in was disabled in the add-ons part of Firefox (and the computer restarted, of course, because once that error appears, nothing will get NaturallySpeaking to work again aside from a reboot).  But now, none of the videos (or anything else that uses flash) will work.  So I uninstalled Shockwave Flash and tried to reinstall my previous version (10.3.183.20), but I got a pop-up basically saying that it would not allow me to install this version, because later versions are available!!!  I never had a problem installing earlier versions before.  Why is it not working now?  And how do I make it install version 10.3.183.20?  It's the only one that will work with my version of NaturallySpeaking. Or is there something I can do to get the updated version of flash to work with Dragon NaturallySpeaking?  Please help!  I use Windows 7 (64-bit) Home version.
    Thank you.

    I've reached out to Nuance to see if they are aware of this bug.  Could you give me the exact version number of DNS that you are using?
    I suspect you'll be able to work around this bug two different ways.  The first is to uninstall the current version of Flash Player and rollback to our most recent 10.3 release which contains all security updates.
    How do I revert to a previous version of Flash Player?
    The second method would be to disable Flash Player's protected mode.  You can find instructions on how to do this at the bottom of this FAQ:
    How do I troubleshoot Flash Player's protected mode for Firefox?
    Thanks,
