3d Modelling/Image for Minecraft type illustration

Is there a simple 3d (poss free/trial) software I can create a block in, add texture to surfaces and duplicate/move to create minecraft type illustration?
I have basic/reasonable illustrator/photoshop skills (not an illustrator though) and want to create a poster for my sons bedroom that looks like minecraft...
So I want to be able to draw a block, add a texture and then copy and paste it (retaining perspective etc) to create a simple minecraft type illustration (though about doing it in minecraft then screen grab, but resolution not good enough).
Thanks!
Mark

  • Building an image for multiple types of Macs...

I need to build images for iMac G3 500's, iMac G4's, eMacs, & 400 Mhz G4 Towers. My question is this...
Using OS 10.3 or 10.4, can I build an image on one of these machines that will have all of the appropriate drivers, software, etc. to distribute to all of them? Or... are there specific items installed during the OS install for some machines and not others?

Contradictory evidence exists whether or not you can really build one unique image for use for all of those machines. One interesting factor here is you say 10.3 or 10.4. Those operating systems can not really be run from one image simultaneously.
In addition, some G4 400 Mhz towers are incapable of target disk mode or being used as the source for a migration assistant transfer. These two articles tell you which those are:
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=58583
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=58418
Assuming you have license for Mac OS X for all the machines there, I suggest building a by model base of a partition you can import to each machine from several external hard drives.
The migration assistant after installing Mac OS X on a specific machine can help simplify how many partitions you need to create:
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=25773
You just install the operating system and it will import data using the migration assistant.
Now the migration assistant will import data from a 10.3 machine to a 10.4 machine, but you can't do vice versa.

  • Changing The Preview Image for File Types

Is there any way for me to change the image that shows up as the preview for file types? For example, I use OpenOffice and all my .doc files show up as blank pages of paper, which I don't like. I've tried to change this to no avail, from using the "Get Info" window to within the program itself. Any help?

If you have an image that you want to use, do a Get Info on it, select the image at the top of the box and then copy from the Edit menu. Then on your OpenOffice document do a Get Info and paste the image into the little image icon at the top of the Get Info box.

  • How to get mobile model name for different types mobile devices

    Hi,
I have checked few thread in this forum about getting mobile model name at server. So far, i noticed the mobile name is set manually in the midlet as user-agent .
    HttpConnection connection = null;           connection = (HttpConnection)Connector.open(url);          connection.setRequestMethod(HttpConnection.POST);          connection.setRequestProperty("User-Agent","Nokia7110 Profile/MIDP-1.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.0");
i retrieve the header information from servlet like below :-
    String userAgent = request.getHeader("User-Agent");
How to get mobile model name for different model devices , not by manually adding the model name in midlet?
    Thanks in advance :-)

    Hi,
In J2ME there is no method to get the model number from the device. how ever you can use the APIs provided by the device manufacturer if available. But still the APIs will not work with devices from other manufacturer or sometimes it will not work with the devices of the same manufacturer if the API is not supported. so it is better to send the device model name through the header.

  • Images for multiple types of Apple

    Hi,
Is it possible to make one image, and use that on different Intel Mac's? I want to setup an Image on a Mac Mini en use that same image on a couple of Mac Pro's and some iMac's.
    Michiel

Generally speaking, the answer is yes. Currently, you may run into trouble because there are many different builds of 10.5.6, some with specific hardware support, especially since the release of the new Minis, Mac Pros, and iMacs. See http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1159 for details. The trick is understanding which models you have. Find the most recent and build your image on that machine. That image should work across all models, regardless of x86 or PPC. One area that is tricky right now is the energy saver preference panel. Only the Mac Book Pros come with the support for switching graphics cards. If you have these models, you will need to either base your build on the laptop or do a post deploy restore of the machine specific prefs panel.
If you run into trouble with recognizing hardware, just touch the Extensions folder. On the next reboot, the extensions cache will be rebuilt.
    Hope this helps

  • Exporting for web in Illustrator 6, why are my png & gif images turning out blurry?

I have never had this problem before. I am exporting an image for web in Illustrator 6 and my images are all turning out blurry. I have attached a sample image as well as a screenshot of my current settings, although I have messed with the settings quite a bit and I seem to have this problem no matter what I do.
You can also view the image here: http://mendotawaterfront.com/floorplans/unit-a-1124-sq-ft/

    gwynthfair,
Apart from its inverted colour, the image in the OP does look rather bad when clicked, but the linked version seems quite normal given the size.

  • Saving Illustrator Image for Web

I have a simple logo that I'm trying to save for use on the web. The original has a transparent background but the edges are white so I have included an image with a dark background for reference. The challenge here is that the lines don't look smooth. I have tried setting AA to none as well as Art and Type Optimized. I've also tried blowing the image way up in Illustrator and scaling it down in the "Save for Web" Dialog box to match the size I need for the web.
In Illustrator the white lines are smooth and clean. When I save for web (or export at 300DPI) they are either blurry or blocky depending on the AA settings and never smooth. I've seen other vector art done in Illustrator that is smooth and clean, I just can't obtain the same results.
Thanks in advance for any help.

a screen-capture will only save your image to the monitor's resolution which is typically between 72dpi and 96dpi depending on if you're using Mac or Windows.  I have found my Macbook Pro display resolution to be sharper than my HP tablet resolution though the pixels per inch are the same.  I have found that to be true for the Macbook Pro vs my 30-inch display as well when viewing webpages.  For some reason Apple has a sharper display.  If you export your Illustrator document to a bitmap image with a high resolution such as 300dpi you will have a sharper result, though it won't be as sharp as a vector format file, such as PDF (Not Photoshop PDF, though--Illustrator PDF).  Vector formats redraw the information based on mathematical equations which represent your drawing each time you upscale or downscale the drawing by zooming in on it.  You will find this to be true with "Scalable Vector Graphics" which is the .SVG file format .  It is not very popular currently because not every browser supports displaying SVG, though I have heard that this will change in the future with Internet Explorer 9 and other browsers.  I think Apple Safari currently supports SVG.  If you export your file to SVG it will export the file and an html file which is used to render the SVG xml data.  In short it is similar to publishing a webpage of your drawing or publishing a SWF file into an HTML document from Adobe Flash Pro.

  • Using the value "Image/*" for the accept attribute of the HTML input Element, how can I add .pdf to the array of preconfigured file types (.jpe, .jpg, .jpeg, .?

On a form, using the value "image/*" for the accept attribute of the HTML input Element, how can I add .pdf to the array of pre-configured file types (.jpe, .jpg, .jpeg, .gif, .png, .bmp, .ico, .svg, .svgz, .tif, .tiff, .ai, .drw, .pct, .psp, .xcf, .psd, .raw)?
Say I wanted to add .gif, .jfif or .ico. I find this array limited, how can I add types to image?
    <input type="file" name="file" accept="image/*" id="file" />
mimeTypes.rdf does not seem to allow this.

''mimeTypes.rdf'' has nothing to do with web development. It's a file that stores your file handling preferences (e.g. if you want ZIP files automatically saved or opened).
You can't change the file types of the pre-defined content specifiers (audio/*, video/*, image/*), but you can specify additional MIME types. To add PDF to your above example,
    <pre><nowiki><input type="file" name="file" accept="image/*,application/pdf" id="file" /></nowiki></pre>

  • Data model 0G: No authorization for entity type Account (Company Code) - activity Display

    Hello Expert,
I have a problem with authorization in MDG-F.
I want to create Account with Collective processing. After, entered Entity type, Edition and Chart of account,  Blocking message "Data model 0G: No authorization for entity type Account (Company Code) - activity Display" is displayed.
But, i checked in PFCG transaction, for this user profil, activity are : create or generate, Change and display. So, for me , it is correct.
Please, check screen shot below :
    Blocking message :
    and in PFCG transaction
Could you help me to solve this point?
    Kind regards,
    Heri RAOELISON

    Hi Heri,
the system behavior is correct. The account in company code consists of three entity types:
    1) COA - Chart of Accounts (Type 3)
    2) ACCOUNT - Account (A-Segment, related to ECC table SKA1, Type 1)
    3) ACCCCDET - Account in Company Code (B-Segment, releated to ECC table SKB1, Type 1).
    3) includes 1) and 2) whereas 2) includes 1). If you grant authorization only for 3) but not for 1) and 2), you cannot do anything.
    Best regards

  • Too many recipients found for message type ORDERS in the ALE model

    Hi all ,
please help me to solve this issue .
i done with ale settings .
orders message type is used in 2 different model view for 2 different systems
when i create po it is giving error in output  "Too many recipients found for message type ORDERS in the ALE model"
how can i rectify this error.
    Thanks

    > orders message type is used in 2 different model view for 2 different systems
do both of them carter diffrent needs or is it the same idoc which is being sent to diffrent systems?
if yes, then use a single model view with noth receiver systems defined in it.
if not, i would suggest, copying the standard idoc and create a zidoc and then use different ones for diffrent receivers....
or u can use diff versions of the orders message type...
say orders05 for one.... receiver and orders02 for another one....
    hope this helps!!
    Cheers!!

  • Too many recipients found for message type (Distribution model)

    Hi,
I wanna send Dilvery note using message type DESADV from a SAP system to another non-SAP System.
I have Created port partner profile and distribution model.
But the Problem is the same message type DESADV is used to send Dilvery from SAP System to another SAP Client.
Idoc getting failed and throwing error stating ‘Too many recipients found for message type DESADV in the ALE model ‘.
I am sure we can create the more than one recipients for same message types. I have done it some time back. Any help highly appreciated.
    Regards
    Raj

This message pops up when SAP can't identify how to distribute the IDoc based on the settings in BD64. Take a look at the settings there, most likely you'll need to add a filter.
The big ALE/EDI/IDoc book suggests that the same IDoc may be distributed to 2 different systems but specific details are not clear. It seems that one system should be configured first (it does mention a need to use a filter) and then somehow menu Edit -> Model View -> Distribute should be used.
I've never done it myself though and have only run into that error when I missed some filter settings in BD64. Hope this helps.

  • Too many recipients found for message type in the ALE model

    Hello Friends,
Please help me in solving this error. I have a Outbound sales order confirmation ORDRSP  .
In the distribution model i have defined the sender receiver and message type clearly...
But  in va01  after creating sales order  extras ->Output->Hearder --->Edit
    Output type-- BA00
    medium --ALE
    Dispatch time : Send Immediately
    I am getting a error -
Too many recipients found for message type ORDRSP in the ALE model
    Message no. B1130
    Diagnosis
In the ALE distribution customer model several recipient systems for IDOCs with message type ORDRSP and filter object type 'KUNNR' with value '100' have been modeled from this system, but only one recipient system is allowed.
    Procedure
Please change the ALE distribution customer model so that it allows only one recipient system for the message from this system.
Please help me in solving this error.
    Regards,
    jeevan

    Hi Jeevan,
In BD64, the said problem occurs, since the message type ORDRSP will be configured to different Logical System.
Since you are creating sales orders & Output type, system doesnt knows, to which Logical system, it has to be sent since the Message type exists more than once.
select Your respective Logical System where the Outbound Sales Order Confirmation ORDRSP has been created.
Under the node ORDRSP, add the filter group for Customer.
Double click the Filter group and add the respective Customer No.s to whom the Order confirmation needs to be sent.
Then create Sales Order Confirmation & Output type. Data will be passed(IDoc) to the respective Customer(where the customer no.) exist in the filter.
    Hope it solves your Issues.
    Regards,
    Anbalagan.

  • Beginner ? on resizing vector for uses outside Illustrator

Slowly weaning myself off of MS PP for graphics.  One reason is so I can resize images for use in apps like Word.  I don't think I want to resize within Word so knowing how to do it in IL is the direction I'm headed (albeit as a beginner).
The example is an image made up of mostly point type, one area type, and a few rounded rectangles.  I have it layed out on a 11x8.5 page (although it actually uses about 6x8.5.
My thinking is to select all, grab a corner, hold down the shift key, and drag.  My first question is: am I getting the advantage of vector (i.e. quality resize)?
Second, is there a way to control the final size as a percentage (for example) of the original selected area?  This question is because I may, in some cases, have a target size in mind.  For example, in the Word case, if I save the IL file as a picture and insert it into the document, Word already does some resizing (to fit the page dimensions (I assume).  In this case, the result is an image 23% of the original size (according to Word).  That's still a bit too big for my purposes.  I'd prefer 15% of the original.
Is there some tutorial on how to do things like using the vector capabilities in IL to resize to a final object size.  I realize I may need to crop along the way.  I'm interested in the process and thinking behind it.
    Thanks
    Tom

    Tom,
Honestly, I haven't read this whole thread in careful detail, but I really think the best advice would be for you to first, fully describe the kind of content you are trying to deliver and what you want the recipients to be able to do with it; second, map out a workflow for your intended purposes; and only then worry about the how-to specifics and the collection of software tools.
    Here's what I read:
You have been using PowerPoint as your generic drawing tool. That, and your descriptions so far, suggest relatively simple graphics (lines, boxes, elbows, text, simple polygons). In short, it makes me wonder if you even really need a program like Illustrator at all.
You want your final deliverables to be editable by your recipients. That alone goes a long way toward ruling out the native formats of Adobe applications, their expense, and their learning curves. It's a common practice in both business and mom & pop general use to treat native Office files as if they are some kind of "universal editable exchange format," just because they are so ubiquitious. You can't make that kind of assumption with graphics-production apps (like Adobe's). You can easily over-complicate things by deciding up-front that you need to jump into that arena. Are you an author, or do you really want to embark on a designer career? Look, if you're not designing for mass commercial reproduction, you may be entirely off-base thinking you need to involve Adobe apps at all.
You are now straining to find a workflow which will "upgrade" your vector graphics (with a program like Illustrator) while still retaining the full editability of your deliverables in a format that mom & pop America knows how to deal with.
Here are some basic things you may not be considering from a practicality standpoint:
Programs like InDesign, Illustrator, et all (regardless of their "me, too" re-purposing in recent years for web-centric work) were created for commercial reproduction (i.e. printing in a PostScript environment). It is completely impractical to try to use their native files as any kind of "universal" exchange format for use by a general public--especially if you want your deliverables to be editable by recipients not equipped for or skilled in their use.
PDF effectively makes the final content of documents created in graphics programs deliverable as is. Its basic purpose is to make documents created in pretty much anything readable by those without the authoring programs, while maintaining fidelity to the appearance of the final document. It's not really meant for overal editing like in the native program that created the document. If you want PDF to be your target final deliverable product, then fine; you can produce more sophisticated PDFs by doing your authoring work in graphics apps. But you'll be sacrificing the kind of native editability you are accustomed to with your current Office-based workflow.
Office programs are from another world. They don't talk PostScript. They don't worry about things like halftones and color separation and all kinds of other print-world esoterica. They're not as detail-sophisticated as dedicated drawing programs in things like finely-controlled Bezier path drawing. They don't natively support the same paths and constructs contained in Illustrator artwork.
Adobe's own "recommended" format for incorporating Illustrator artwork into Office applications is not vector at all; it's PNG, a raster format. That's what the Save For Office feature in Illustrator is all about. That fact alone should tell you alot about what you are getting into when you want to use AI to routinely populate Office documents with vector artwork from Illustrator.
Office apps do, however, exist in the real workaday world, and do therefore provide general-purpose means by which to incorporate text, raster, and vector objects for constructing graphics.
You have mentioned concern for vector scaleablilty several times. You seem to be unaware that even Office programs do in fact have their own graphics model for vector graphics. On Windows, that's what formats like Windows Metafile (WMF) and Enhanced Metafile (EMF) are all about. Those are the kinds of objects that are created by the various drawing tools that reside in not just PowerPoint, but also in Word, Excel, Access, et all.
Don't think that you can't create professional-looking results in the Office applications you are already familiar with. "Professional" results is more a matter of design skill and artistic discernment than software. (Believe me, far more amateurish work is created in Illustrator than "professional" work.) It sounds to me (especially since you have been using only the drawing tools in PPT) like you may not have really explored the graphics capability that already exists in the Office applications you are using, and which you really want to use as your fully-editable deliverables anyway.
In helping you devise a suitable workflow, I would ask you questions like these:
Describe (and show examples) of the most "sophisticated' kinds of graphics that you envision needing to routinely include in your deliverables.
Describe the level of editability that you want your recipients to be able to perform.
Describe the functional content of your deliverables. For example, do you want your deliverables to contain live, editable spreadsheets that your users can use as "calculators" or "what if" graphs? Do you understand that while you can build some forms-based interactivity in PDFs, doing so is a relatively painstaking and esoteric process, whereas in Office applications, its pretty much a copy/paste affair?
Have you fully explored the drawing feature sets in Office applications? Do you really understand their capabilities and limitations?

  • How to add different background image for submenu items???

    Hi all,
I'm pretty new to web design and CSS in particular. Here's my problem...
I've got a Spry horizontal menu bar (untouched as yet), and I want to have a different background image for my submenu items than that of my menu items. From searching the internet I think that I need to apply a class to the submenu item (please correct me if I am wrong).
How would I go about doing this and how would I assign the class to just the submenu items?
Also ideally I want to have my first and last menu items to have rounded corners on one side (therefore making a rounded edge menu bar), is it possible to have a different background image for individual menu items? If so, how?
    Really appreciate any help!

Thanks for the link! I've managed to sort the background issue, and it seems to be working fine!
Just one little issue left to tackle...
I want my text to be centered in my top menu items BUT aligned left in my drop down menu items. I have managed this but the text hugs the left hand side. I've tried adding a little margin to the left but that doesn't seem to affect anything???
Here's my CSS... Any ideas which class I should be targeting or why adding the margin isn't working would save my tearing the rest of my hair out! thanks! (screenshot attached).
