  • How do you track 4 coner pins of a composition 4 corner pins

How do you track 4 coner pins of a composition 4 corner pins
    Hi guys.
Can you watch my screencast and help me with it?
    http://youtu.be/WbLk8u19TNo
I tried to search everywhere but I couldn’t find answers, maybe wrong keywords.
Is there a way to track the 4 cornorpins of the composition?
I am doing some project related to 4 cornorpin.
    http://blog.dotify.fr/nteractive-video-with-4-corner-pin-motion-tracking-after-effect-flas h/
    like this..
I know I could do a black solid layer in to “footage holder 6 pre-comp” and track with 4 corner pin.
But I wanted to know if there is a way to track the pins w/o rendering.
As it should be the most precise way to find conor pins
    Can you help?
    Thanks.

    Thanks for reply.
    Just like the project in
    http://blog.dotify.fr/nteractive-video-with-4-corner-pin-motion-tracking-after-effect-flas h/ .
    or
    http://www.soundstep.com/blog/experiments/jstracking/
I want to make a script that can show replacing placeholders in the footage.
To do so, I need coordinates of 4 corner pin of a composition(the composition which I can replace the footage).
Of course, I can put a placeholder with dots, render the project and then motion track it.
But it takes long time and tracked data is rusty and inaccurate.
I thought it mightbe cool if I could just keep tracking the vertax's x coordinate and y cordinate data.
It will be precise, clean and quick since the positions of the dots are already calculated.
    Can you help?

I checked the link that I posted back in post 3 of your thread. It is working with at least Firefox and Chrome.
ATR Premiere Elements Troubleshooting: PE12: Motion Tracking/What To Use To Track Object?
    What browser are you using?
The blog post contains significant information related to Premiere Elements 12 Motion Tracking. But, if you cannot access it for some reason, then we will need to troubleshoot via communications in the thread.
SG has asked if you are able to create Motion Tracking effect using one of the graphics included with the program. We will watch for your response to him on that question. Please include in your message to him whether you can obtain your file to track the object using Organizer Tab or Project Assets routes as well as Graphics Tab.
The following is an excerpt from the blog post referenced....
    SOLUTION
Various tutorials and online comments have pointed to places other than Graphics Tab where objects can be selected and used to track the moving object in the video when the Motion Tracking workspace is opened in the Expert or Quick workspace.
Organizer Tab, Expert or Quick workspace to access Elements Organizer 12. Cascade Windows and drag a video or photo from Elements Organizer into the yellow track box of Motion Tracking workspace.
Project Assets, Expert workspace. Drag text, video, or photos from opened Project Assets into the yellow track box of Motion Tracking workspace.
Graphics Tab, Expert or Quick workspace. Create a png file (graphic) or prtl file (text) and place it in Clip Arts in the Program Files of the program to have a permanent resource. Then from Graphics Tab, drag the newly created graphic or text object into yellow track box of Motion Tracking workspace.
    Thanks.

  • Corner pin displays

I have some 3rd party animated displays that use AE's corner pin tracking information so video clips can track the movement of the displays. Is there some way for me to get Motion to follow this tracking information?
I know that I can use the Select/Transform tool and painstakingly record keyframes to replicate this, but I'm hoping I can find some way to get Motion to follow the corner pin tracking info instead.
Any brilliant ideas (other than buying After Effects)?
    Thanks!

I should've been more specific. Yes, I'm using the Adjust Four Corners tool as discussed on p. 238 of the Motion manual. It appears to me that this not only resizes the clip, it also adjusts the perspective for a 3-D effect.
    I'm doing the following:
    1) Layer 1 is the animation I want to follow
    2) Layer 2 is the clip that will follow the movement of Layer 1
    3) Select the clip in Layer 2 and place the playhead where it should begin following Layer 1.
    4) Click Record and, using the Adjust Four Corners tool, adjust the clip in Layer 2.
    5) Move ahead 1 or 2 frames and adjust the corners as needed, continuing until the full path is completed.
It's slow, but I figure that once I have the path defined, I can set this up as a template and use the Replace Media function to drop in whatever clip I want to follow the defined path.
If there's a quicker, easier way to do this, I'm all ears.

  • Similar to Shakes corner pin?

    Hello Everyone
Im trying to figure the best way to do a somewhat simple thing.
I have a shot of a car and I would like to place text on its side and have it match the car's movement (there isn't a lot of movement and its a very short clip)
Can anyone recommend the best way to go at it, and is there a tool in motion that resembles Shakes corner pin so that I can match the perspective properly.
Im assuming I should do an analyse motion to the car clip followed by a match move to the text file, but i must be doing something wrong cause for such a simple short movement its not working at all.
    Thanks for your advice.

Part of the match move behavior is the corner pin option. It requires 4 tracking markers. Based on your description you should be able to do it with 2 to account for scale and rotation.

  • Distort vs Corner Pin Effect

In FCP, where can I find an alternative for the Corner Pin Effect in Adobe Premiere & After Effects ?
At Creative Cow I found that the Distort Tool is the alternative, but that's not true !
The Distort Tool bends the diagonals of the image. The Corner Pin Effect keep them straight.
In Motion it is possible (Adjust Four Corner - Tab) , but how can I do this in FCP ?
I post a trial at Picasa (i hope it works - is it not possible to add an attachement at this forum)

FCP is not an compositing software it is part of a package, which also includes Motion.
You say it works in Motion.
Well then: Select the clip in FCP. Right click. select Send to Motion.
In Motion do the four corner pin. File > Save. Revert to FCP. Voila. There's your clip corner pinned...
(Yes a workaround, but a workable workaround I guess).

  • Corner pin tracking

I have a collection of animations that I bought from 12 Inch Design a couple years ago. They include corner pin tracking data for AE (which I don't own).
I think the answer to this question is "no," but it seems to be the easiest path to what I'm trying to accomplish, so I'll ask it anyway:
Is there way to translate AE corner pin tracking info into Motion 3?
Assuming the answer is "no," please let me continue. . .
These animations I'm working with include things like picture frames and tv screens that zoom from far away to close up . . .just like Motion would do with "cameras". They also include alpha channels where you should place the image that should be "pinned" along with the animation.
Using the tracking behaviors, I've found that I can get Motion to do an excellent job of 4 corner pinning if the animation is fairly simple . . .such as a picture frame which is at a distance and then zooms in closer (and you can see the entire frame during the entire animation).
I'm having troubles with more complex motions though. For example, a tv monitor that is spinning in 3D, where the "camera" comes from behind the monitor and swirls around to the front . . .or a book that opens up while the "camera" is moving toward the book (thus, during the first part of the animation the "pinned" image is not seen at all, and as the "pinned" image comes into view it is slowly revealed, so, in addition to needing follow the motion of the book, the image also needs to be cropped).
Yes, I AM trying to avoid laborious key framing. Is there a workflow or methods I'm not thinking of (and aren't discussed in the "Motion Supplemental" document)?
Just trying to save myself some unnecessary work . . .
    Thanks!

  • How to match filters to moving object using motion tracking ?

    Hi:)
    Excuse me for imperfect english.
I'd like to perform the famous face wrao effect that I've seen in a tutorial for ADOBE AE.

  • I am trying to use motion tracking to have text follow a section of the background. The text box follows the motion path, but the text just sits there.  What am I doing wrong?

I am trying to use motion tracking to have text follow a section of the background. The text box follows the motion path, but the text just sits there.  What am I doing wrong?

Motion basically looks at the the source footage and it's timing (in the timing section of the Inspector) when analyzing for tracking.  Filters are basically ignored by the tracker.  Retiming actions, like time re-mapping, or retiming behaviors that are applied before the tracker should be used by the tracker.  Did you change the timing after doing the tracking?  If so this would also require you to re-track the shot.  Understanding that you found a workaround, describing the effects you applied would help to explain why you ran into problems.

  • How to use a webcam with Labview8,Vision 8 in motion tracking?

I have a webcam and Labview 8, Vision Assistant Module 8, NI IMAQ for USB Cameras. What I concern is how to use a webcam in motion tracking? Should I just use Vision assistant or use it in combination with Labview? Do I need any other support?

    4,
Thanks for your post.  Vision Assistant is a good software package to prototype your system, but it does not give you access to all Vision methods.  LabVIEW is much more powerful allowing full access to Vision.  You may want to use Vision Assistant to play with the algorithms (you can use your mouse to set regions of interest, etc) and then once you find the methods and parameters that work, implement the code in LabVIEW.

  • Using motion tracking and time remapping to smooth pans?

    Hi!
I shot some video with a cheap tripod and I'm not happy with some of the panning shots that I made. It came to my mind that it might be possible to smooth out the un-even speeds of those pans by tracking the footage and then using time remapping to make the movement smooth and constant. However, I don't know how to do the math in the right way. Has anyone tried this before? Is there maybe even tutorials on the subject?
Any help will be appreciated! Thanks!

I saw someone else thinking about the same solution on another forum so I decided to bump this a little bit.
The way I see it, this should be doable (unless there is something that I really dont understand).
The way it would work is this:
You have a panning shot of a stationary scene (no moving objects). You choose a track point that is visible during the pan and motion track that point. Then you look at the speed of that track point (how fast it is moving ie. from left to right) as pixels per seconds. And then you tie it to the time remapping property to make the speed (pixels per seconds) move in a constant manner.
The way I see it, there should be no black gaps when using a method like this, which kind of is why I'm interested in the consept. Because you are not moving the frame around spatially, you are simply changing the time it takes for a point to get from A to B.
    What do you guys think?

  • Premier Elements 13 on MAC. trying to use motion tracking. immediately get error "the media file seems to have an invalid entry in the catalog. Please rename it for use."

Anyone resolved this issue?  What is the "catalog".  All I did was import a file (1080/60) and get started.  Everything else seems to work fine.

Assuming you're not shooting in 3D mode, I'm not sure why this is happening.
As long as you're not shooting in 3D mode, this is a standard AVCHD camcorder, which I've done lots of motion tracking with.
Since you manually copied the file from SD card rather than getting the media using Premiere Elements' tools, it is quite possible you grabbed the wrong file. Try this: Plug your camcorder (with SD card in the cam) into your computer via USB and set the camcorder to VTR/play. Then go to Premiere Elements' Add Media/From Flip or Camera and use that tool to get the video from the camera to your computer.
This should resolve your invalid catalog entry issue.

  • Four corner motion tracking no functioning properly.

I am trying to do motion tracking using Four Corners and it is not behaving properly. I set the corners accurately, and they are easy to track becasue the transformation feature works just fine. However, with four corners, it doesent even analyze the entire clip, it just about 10 or 15 frames of a 30 second clip. Any ideas?

There are no built-in motion tracking capabilities within Final Cut Pro ... is it possible you are having trouble with Apple Motion (in which case their forum is here) or are you using a third party plug-in (in which case you need to tell us what it is and/or address your question to the developers)
    Cheers
