3D parsing error after 9.5.2 update

After updating Acrobat Pro to 9.5.2 I now get a '3D parsing error' when trying to play newly embedded video in the pdf. Before the update, the same video (embedded in the pdf) would play just fine. The video is still being imported as a .mp4, so apart from the update nothing has changed. Any ideas on where the problem might be would be most appreciated.

You need Flash Player version 11.2 or greater installed on your machine. You can download it from here: http://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/reader-acrobat-flash-player-download.html

  • Can't log in to Apple store; 'plist parsing error' after STATUS_CODE_ERROR

Two week old 15" MacBook Pro. I had two updates this morning, xCode command line tools and iMovie.
The xCode command line tools installed and restarted the laptop.
After that, I couldn't log in to the Apple Store to install iMovie; I got a STATUS_CODE_ERROR in the lower left hand of the login dialog.
I quit the App Store app, then restarted it, and tried to install iMovie again.
I still couldn't log in to the Apple Store to install iMovie; I got a plist parsing error in the lower left hand of the login dialog.
There is an Apple Support Communities string for STATUS_CODE_ERROR that has 1800+ entries, seems to be global.

    same,same

  • Kernel Panic Error after last MAC OSX update

    Hi all,
    My first post here.
Last week, after install the last update of MAC OSX on my intel IMac (last of 2009), when the computer was restarting, a kernel error screen appears...
I've launched the safe mode, and the computer starts fine and I've execute the disk utility to repair HDD and rights. I've done the same initializing from the installation DVD, but the kernel error appears again...
I leave only the usb apple keyboard plugged, and I don't understand why this error still happening, and of course why it occurs after a MAC OSX standard update (no new hardware or software installed in the las month).
I'm little desperate with this issue
    kernel error.
    Many thanks in advance!

Hi Hugo, & a warm welcome to the forums!
One way to test is to Safe Boot from the HD, (holding Shift key down at bootup), run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, Test for problem in Safe Mode...
PS. Safe boot may stay on the gray radian for a long time, let it go, it's trying to repair the Hard Drive
    Reboot, test again.
If it only does it in Regular Boot, then it could be some hardware problem like Video card, (Quartz is turned off in Safe Mode), or Airport in 10.4 & below, or 3rd party add-on, Check System Preferences>Accounts>Login Items window to see if it or something relevant is listed.
Check the System Preferences>Other Row, for 3rd party Pref Panes.
Also look in these if they exist, some are invisible...
    /private/var/run/StartupItems
    /Library/StartupItems
    /System/Library/StartupItems
    /System/Library/LaunchDaemons
    /Library/LaunchDaemons
It does look like the com.metakine.handsoff.driver, whatever that's about.

  • Premiere Pro CS3 capture error after Aug 09 vista update

im using premiere pro cs3 on two PC's running vista.  after the last vista update last week, i can no longer import HDV or DV from my HV30.  both PC's detect the camera and ask to import into windows movie maker or other programs, but when i open premiere pro cs3 and click on capture, both PC's refuse to acknowledge that a camerat attached.  is anyone else having this error?  if so, have anyone found a soultion to this error?

Strange as it might sound, I'd also install the latest audio and video drivers. OS updates can kill these in a heartbeat. Test afterwards.
It sounds like Vista is seeing the camera OK, but I'd check just a bit deeper. Go to Control Panel>System>Hardware>Device Manager (or whatever Vista might call it?), and with your camera attached and turned on, navigate to it. Open up the window for that device and check every panel. Any warnings, or errors anywhere?
In PrPro, check all of the Capture Preferences. Anything amiss there? Anything changed, since the update?
As a test, create a current Restore Point (do not trust that Vista has done this for you - do it manually to be sure), and then choose a Restore Point from before the Update (I'd actually go back several, if possilbe). Use that and test again. Does PrPro now see the camera and does it Capture as before? If the earlier examinations do not point up something, and this test shows that PrPro CAN Capture, you have at least narrowed it down to the Vista update.
    Good luck,
    Hunt

  • Release Management 2013 Server Web Site throwing "Data at the root level is invalid..." error after applying RM 2013 Update 4

I upgraded our RM Server from 2013 Update 2 to Update 4. During smoke testing, I discovered that the RM approval website would get stuck and display a loading wheel when showing the list of releases. After rebooting the server and uninstalling and reinstalling,
I eventually got it to load the web site just fine, however the windows event log is displaying thousands of instances of the same error (about once a second).

  • Epson R2400 'Filter' failed error after 10.8.2 Update

After the recent 10.8.2 update my Epson R2400 printer fails when printing with a 'Filter' failed error. Everything was working normally beforehand (10.8).
    I've rebooted printer.
I've removed and installed printer in the control panel.
I can get the printer to print with the opensource gutenprint driver ( http://sourceforge.net/projects/gimp-print/files/ ) but it doesn't handle color profiles correctly which is just as bad as not being able to print at all.
    Any ideas?

Just to follow up. I've now confirmed this issue on several machines. The Epson drivers installed by apple will always lead to 'Filter failed error'.
Thie 2.28 driver available here: http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1398
After install it will fix the problem, but annoyingly after you install it software update will keep prompting you to install a new set of Epson printer drivers... don't do it, you'll start getting the error again.

  • IPod Touch Connection Errors After 3.1.3 Update.

    Hi all,
There has been numerous threads in which users of the iphone/ipod touch has the "connect to USB/iTunes" image after updates to firmware 3.1.3. This is the thread to compile the possible solutions.
To be part of this, you must satisfy the following criteria:
This is to make sure that we are talking about the same problem.
    1) Problem must occur AFTER the release of firmware 3.1.3.
    2) Your PC might detect the connection of a USB device. It claims it to be in recovery mode, but have no way to install the hardware.
    3) iTunes does not recognize your device.
    4) After start up of the iPod, there is an image asking you to connect to USB
    5) You have checked the Device Manager, and besides the USB devices logo, there is a small yellow triangle, which signals that the driver is not installed.
    6) You have tried to link the driver install location to C:\Windows\system32\drivers or C:\Windows\inf, but to no avail. The device remains uninstalled.
    7) You already reinstalled the latest version of iTunes, but problem remains
If you fit into all the above criteria, you are invited to start the thread running. =)
    ================================================================================ =
Some of us tend to not consider the costs that may come with repairs, thinking that they will last forever. Like many other manufacturers, these companies charge a premium when diagnosing our devices. That is not a guarantee of a possible solution to a problem. This thread is to help people like me who want to try any possible means of solving problems ourselves before going down to the service centers, to save some effort and time.
    <Edited by Host>

I had the same problem after updating ITunes and the IPhone software to v.3.1.3. My IPod got frozen during the update and, after attempting to restore, I got the following message:
The IPod Touch "Ipod Touch" could not be restored. An unknown error occured (1604)
I checked Apple's support page that the More info button links to, and for this particular error code it explains:
Error 1604: This error is often related to USB timing. If the issue is not resolved by USB isolation troubleshooting, try these steps to resolve the issue:
    1. Connect iPhone to iTunes, confirm that the device is in Recovery Mode. If it's not in Recovery Mode, put it into Recovery Mode.
    2. Restore and wait for error 1604.
    3. When prompted click OK.
    4. Close and re-open iTunes while iPhone remains connected.
    5. iPhone should now be recognized in Recovery Mode again.
    6. Try to restore again.
I tried the above steps (after re-connecting the ipod to my PC several times with no significant result) and it worked! All the original content was synced back to my ipod, so it's all good!
Good luck with the above steps, hope it works for u too.

  • SQL query works in the SQLPlus, but fires parse error after being cut and pasted into

One of our client has a SQL query like this:
    SQL> SELECT LNAME,
    2 QUOTA/12,
    3 (SELECT SUM(CAMT) FROM CONSULTING WHERE CONSULTANT = P.EMPLOYEE
    4 AND ACTIVITYCODE = 'C'AND
5 CDATE BETWEEN '01-JAN-2001' AND '31-JAN-2001') AS SUM,
    6 (SELECT SUM(CAMT) FROM CONSULTING WHERE CONSULTANT = P.EMPLOYEE
    7 AND ACTIVITYCODE = 'C'AND
    8 CDATE BETWEEN '01-JAN-2001' AND '31-JAN-2001') -
    QUOTA/12 AS PL
    9 FROM PERSONNEL P
    10 ORDER BY LNAME;
Running the above query in the SQLPlus returns appropriate resultsets to the
user. After the same SQL being cut and pasted into a portal report
component, running the report component fires the following error:
    Failed to parse query
    Error:ORA-00911: invalid character (WWV-11230)
Failed to parse as XXX - SELECT LNAME, QUOTA/12, (SELECT SUM(CAMT) FROM

    ORDER BY LNAME; (WWV-08300)
    Cursor is not open
Is this because of the multi-table queries, or something else? Is there any
way around this? Any information regarding this will be highly appreciated.
    Thanks.

    Sunny,
From the error message that you posted it seems that you are putting a semicolon ";" at the end of your query. I checked the query that you have posted. It is working fine for me. (I am using 3.0.8) but I feel it will work in your version also. I tried the query without a ";" at the end --It worked.
I tried with ";" at the end -- It gave the error that you have posted. So remove the ";" at the end and it should work. If you are still getting the same error then pls write down the version you are using. I will check in that version.
    Thanx,
    Chetan.

  • Weird HTML space %20 error after 10.6.5 update

I just updated our Snow Leopard Server to 10.6.5 for the many fixes within Podcast Producer. Unfortunately, I have came across a very weird error (or bug). All of our video podcast within the blogs were working fine before the update. Once updated, I scanned through our site to find some podcast posts not working. When you clicked on the .png, a quicktime icon with a ? showed up instead of the video. What was weird was that many other video podcast were working.
After looking at many things, I came across the issue. All the working video podcast had a single word for the name, all the non-working video podcasts had multiple words with spaces. I could edit the HTML within the blog post and remove the %20 and voila, the embedded video worked again.
Has anyone else experienced this with 10.6.5 or any other version? If so, is there a way to fix the issue without having to touch every single broken video post?

I am seeing exactly the same thing:
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=2645383&tstart=0
It seems as if the Podcast Library is now escaping spaces with a + instead of %20.
Like you, I'm able to restore the videos by directly editing the HTML and replacing %20 in the URL with a space. This is odd, because %20 is the absolutely correct way to escape spaces in URLs.
We have way too many posts to do this manually, and since English speaking human beings use spaces between words, most of our URLs are now broken.

  • Remote connection to folder applescript throwing error after 10.6.7 update

I have the following applescript steps that have worked perfectly until we updated the two server machines it runs between (one is a file server, the other is a client machine running filemaker server):
--set initial values to the filesystem variables
    set lstServer to "FileServer.local"
    set lstFolder to "Files/Automated"
    set lstSubfolder to "EventsReporter"
    set lstAccountName to "*****"
    set lstAccountPassword to "*****"
    --this builds the connection string
    set lstAFP to "afp://" & lstAccountName & ":" & lstAccountPassword & "@" & lstServer & "/" & lstFolder & "/" & lstSubfolder & "/"
--this is what the local computer will recognize as the mounted folder
set mountedFolder to lstSubfolder & ":"
--this behaves as both prefix filter and as the name of the subdirectory under the local Documents folder
    set lstPrefix to "DVER"
repeat with idx from 1 to 3
    set ping_result to (do shell script "ping -c 1 " & lstServer)
if ping_result contains "100% packet loss" then
    delay 3
    else
    exit repeat
    end if
    end repeat
    if idx ≥ 3 then return -1
    --call the Finder application
    --try
    tell application "Finder"
    activate
--check to see if the volume/folder is already mounted & if not then mount it
    if not (exists mountedFolder) then
    try
    mount volume lstAFP
    on error
    return -1
    end try
    end if
--get a list of files in the remote folder & get a count of them
    set mountedFolderRef to folder mountedFolder
The script now fails on the last step whereas it never did before:
    set mountedFolderRef to folder mountedFolder
    with the error:
error "Finder got an error: Can’t get folder \"EventsReporter:\"." number -1728 from folder "EventsReporter:"
This script must run without user intervention. What changed and where is it documented?? This has to be fixed, I cannot spare the time to continue to periodically move these files manually. This runs in two separate scripts with the only difference being the subfolder name and both have failed simultaneously. I am not very good with applescript and I do not know how to fix this newest issue.
    Someone please help!

    Thank you for your reply
Actually, the situation has resolved itself. What we believe to be the case after having watched this error unfold itself, is that with file and/or filesystem level changes that may have been instituted for certain corrections to how it handles SMB, we feel that there may have been a background process crawling through the filesystem slowly making those changes file-by-file or sector-by-sector.
I would watch one portion of the remote access script work, then not work, then another quit working. Then after several hours they each can back online without error, one by one.
    (* beginning of rant ...
It would have been nice to have a little notice about whatever was causing this issue so I didn't have to waste most of a day crawling the web for answers and tweaking various portions of a test script to see what now did work and what did not.
Ah, well. I suppose I should be used to such by now with apple :/
Am I being a dinosaur or can anyone else remember a day when complete documentation for a product was available with the product or by purchasing a relatively inexpensive reference book? These days it seems as though, where useful information is even available, it is only after many months after a product has come out and then it is at a premium. Even then most of it is only a surface description.
    ... end of rant *)

  • ACL permission errors after 10.10.1 update

After installing the 10.10.1 update, I'm seeing a ton of ACL permissions errors while repairing permissions using Disk Utility. Disk Utility also seems incapable of repairing these errors. Why is this happening, and is it really something to worry about?

These are not errors, rather they are simply messages for the user. ACLs (access control lists) are generally harmless. Why you have so many of them may be the result of prior system upgrades.

  • Dock error after 10.5.6 update

does your dock even launch? see if you still have the application in system-library-coreservices-dock. the file should be around 7.4 megabytes. If there is nothing there, then i dont know what you could do. If it is there, try to open terminal and type in "killall Dock" (without the quotes, however follow capitalization) Most likely you will get the error again, however if not then you've made progress..

  • Cyrusdb error after 10.5.6 update

After update to 10.5.6 I suddenly have a user with a corrupt cyrus db account. I'm getting this: DBERROR: error fetching user.grandewoods: cyrusdb error
In Server Admin > Maintenance > Accounts: there are no accounts listed and under the Database tab it says that the Database location is not available. Most users are functioning normally though.
I have tried running several commands to fix the problem with no success:
    # sudo -u cyrusimap /usr/bin/cyrus/bin/ctl_cyrusdb -c
    # sudo -u cyrusimap /usr/bin/cyrus/bin/ctl_cyrusdb -r
    # /usr/bin/cyrus/bin/reconstruct -i
    Any ideas are appreciated.
