3d text flickers more in FCP5

why is it, that everytime there is an upgrade, they ruin something else?
in FCP3, there was a 3rd party filter called "edge blur" that took the flicker away from most TV safe text perfectly, when fcp4 came out, that plugin wasnt compatible, the next best thing was "flicker filter" set to "max", wasnt as good but worked okay, now in FCP5, the flicker filter doesnt do the same job, i use impact all the time( a very TV friendly font), it used to look great at size 30 with flicker filter, now it flickers more than ever, does anyone know how to stop this flicker problem, obviously apple is not concerned with their text flicker issue, the deflicker on the 3d text parameter does absolutely nothing to the flicker.
time to downgrade to 4.5 again, losing too much money....

the problem is that this wasnt an issue in 4.5, i did not have to fine tune the numbers, i just used the "+" and the numbers were always weird with decimal points, as long as i put a flicker filter on, it fixed it (the best it could). im using IMPACT font which is a great font for TV monitors, too! as far opacity, i always use like 75-80%, i do this 20 times a week, in my opinion, fcp5 changed other features. its that same old story with FCP, when they upgrade, they also downgrade but forget to check it, or tell us.
not to get off the subject, but fcp5 is also more sluggish when shuttling (for most ive talked to), and i just noticed today, when i copied a rendered text generator, it was unrendered when pasted, if i remember correctly, even text generators kept their renders when copied.
just venting, i should have stayed on 4.5 till more bugs were addressed.
PS-im one of those guys that all the weird stuff happens to, but never happens to anybody else on the discussions, so im usually figuring it out on my own, ha ha ha!

I tried turning of pre-fetching, clearing history, cookies, and cache, scanning for malware with Avast and Windows Defender all to no avail. It began when I upgraded from dial up to DSL via AT&T Uverse. I have a Motorola NVG510 modem. The modem was replaced an hour ago along with new dedicated lines and DSL/Phone splitter from the box by an AT&T technician to make sure my incoming lines were up to par. He ran a connection test and verified everything is up to standards. IE does not display this behavior. I am running Firefox20.0.1 and all previous versions have acted the same way since I upgraded to DSL about 3 months ago.

If you have increased the minimum font size then try the default setting "none" in case the current setting is causing problems.

Make sure that you allow websites to choose their fonts.

It is better not to increase the minimum font size, but use an extension to set the default page zoom to prevent issues with text not being displayed properly.

Reading long text for more records at a time

We have a requirement for which that data like textid textname textobject and language must be taken in to an internal table and for each record in the internal table i have to read the long text inorder to compare the long text for the given search text.
If i use Read_text inside the loop and endloop it works but it may not be appropriate in performance point of view.
Is there any function module which can read long texts for more records at a time.
The long text data in STXL will be in raw data format right? is there any way to convert raw data to normal so that by hitting the STXL i can read the long text data for more than one record at a time.

Below is a code snippet which describes reading a long text frm the screen and appending it into the internal table.This code is actually to read the text from the screen and inserting a record into STXl and STXH.
From your query what i understood is that you are storing the long text from the screen into a internal table and so you not want to use the read_text FM due to performance issue.
Since tdline(tline table) is 132 char long format i use this small logic to read the screen data and append it to my internal table.

My text flickers like mad on NTSC monitor

I burned a DVD and tested it on my computer LCD screen. It looks fine.
But when I tried it on an NTSC monitor, the intro text flickers like mad.
OK, the fonts are a bit small to squeeze everything on, but it should not flicker as much as it does.
My font face is plain Arial.
The rest of the DVD is OK.
(ps: I did the text in Motion, imported it into FCP and rendered it out ProRes422 HQ). As I say, it looks great on my computer monitor.

this could be your problem
the choice of the text has to be compatable with the rezolution of the CRT - thin horizontal strokes cant be resolved properly and results in flicker
a good rule is to size text so that 30 lines of text can be displayed in the screen hight- if it doesnt fit, throw out some of the text or put it on a separate screen

This is a restriction built into the iPhone. No way to change that. You can look at a group texting app in the App store, but from what I have heard, they have had the restriction put on them in iOS 7 as well.

I hv to read header text (me23n) of po where terms and conditions are defined. I hv used READ_TEXt FM which return the internal table L_LINES. Because I hv to display label also i.e.

for example , the pr qty is 1000 , but we are doing sub contracting po for only 500 and for other 500 we want to do std po but system allows us to do only subcontracting po...for that we are doing manually prs for the remaing qty... Moving ahead, management wants us to Purchase     ( This is entered text).

so i hv used my own internal table of type TLINE.
Problem is , the length of TLINE-TDLINE is 132, but the length of entered text is more than 132 (Header Note above).
when i copy the tdline from L_LINES to w_line, it does copy only 132 characters.
Can anyone guide me in this.
And one more thing is , as above in terms and conditions, after first point enter is pressed. how to capture if enter is pressed.

Never tried with bullets but nested styles might work... I think you can chain two or more nested style, and then you can define first nested style to effect only first character, second nested style to next character and so on....

You didn't specify if you are referring to tables or code.
In tables the limit is varchar2(4000) so anything bigger will need to be stored in a CLOB (as already mentioned).
In PL/SQL code you can defined varchar2 up to 32K so varchar2(32767).

22ms is a long time for your computer, but I am wondering about your network. Are you 10 base or 100 base? Switch or hub? Have you tried a direct connection with a crossover cable? Just trying to spark ideas here. I use TCP all the time but only at 500 ms intervals.
