  • Can't render: after effects error: internal verification failure. What can I do?

I need to render a comp (h.264 default settings) and the process is stopped with the following error: "after effects error: internal verification failure, sorry! {could not find itemframe we just now checked in}".
What can I do? I have already tryed to re-start Ae several times. The render stops at random points, when started again. The comp is very simple: a mp4 movie background, still PNG pictures one after another with opacity and 1 mask keyframed and write-on texts at their side, explaining the pictures. Thank you in advance for any help.

Yes, the problem is that Ae seems to not handle well MP4 files. Why is that?
After Effects works on a pixel-by-pixel basis. After Effects is not like video editing programs - they just deal with a video stream - in After Effects, each frame is fully uncompressed.
MP4's use interframe compression. That means that they only have a complete frame every once in a while and the rest are filled in using a variety of methods including motion estimation. Depending on the compression settings, a video with interframe compression often won't have a complete frame for a few seconds. That means that, out of every 90 frames or so, only one of those frames actually contains full pixel data for the entire frame (and that frame is usually somewhat compressed using intraframe compression [like a JPEG]). After Effects has to decode a lot of crap and translate it into full-frame, full pixel information before it can even begin to process it.
After Effects is much better with it now than it used to be. CS4 and earlier used to struggle with it bad. Each version since has improved handling of such things. Also, each version implements ways of handling newer versions of codecs. Keep in mind, version 11 (CS6) was written before a lot of modern cameras were even built. The current version (13.2) probably would not have had the issue you did.
    Does that explain it?

  • Making Presets - After Effects error: internal verification failure, sorry! {unexpected match name in group} (29 :: 0)

I am attempting at making a preset for myself, because I want to speed up the time it takes to make and add effects to layers.
I began by using an online generator to generate my preset shell (the outline of the preset). I then took the code it gave me, and
pasted it into my PresetEffects.xml (C:\Program Files\Adobe\After Effects CC 2014\Support Files\PresetEffects.xml) and when I went
into After effects CC, I opened up the script editor (File>Scripts>Open Script Editor), then I pasted my import java code:
    app.project.activeItem.layer(1).effect.addProperty("Audio_Waveform_Wheel");
When I press the "Run" button, something happens, then on my after effects a pop up message comes up saying:
After Effects error: internal verification failure, sorry! {unexpected match name in group} (29 :: 0)
When I press OK, it just opens up again. My software also looks a little messed up. What is going on?
How do I fix this issue?

The After Effects CC 2014.1.1 (13.1.1) update fixes several bugs, including this one. Let us know how it's working for you once you've installed the update.

  • Repousse and After Effects Integration

Once you import a some extruded text from repousse in Photoshop Extended into After Effects, how in the world are you supposed to animate and retain its 3d qualities with other compositions and layers? I can animate it on its own, but there is no way to match the movement with other parts. If you drag the composition that has the repousse element (that moves with all 3d qualities intact) into any other composition, it doesn't seem to integrate with the other elements. If you hit the 3D button in AE, it goes flat...
What is the point of being able to import 3D anything into after effects if you cant animate it in context with anything else?

Todd, don't get me wrong, i have learned a good bit from Lynda.com. I said I love it.
It is simply my personal feeling that Kramer's video's DO cover both, in a very succint, and meaningful way, without watching hours of fluff at 2X the speed to get to the beef of the info faster. And his tutorials are FREE.
That is not to say i don't think Lynda.com is worth it. I do. It is a great bargain for the volume of stuff they cover.
For me, I like Kramer's the best and think he has raised the bar on tutorials. And I think the industry should take note.
For example, Kramer made an orb in about 30 seconds in 3DS as part of a larger tutorial. In that short time he didn't specifically address each thing he did in minute detail, but if you use your head, you very obviously pick up how the tool functions, without spending a boatload of time on it. All while making a cool example.
And that is why I love his site. The way he teaches saves time.
    Maybe others prefer it differently.
But it was very effective to me.
I would still recommend Adobe or Lynda to anyone.
But volume and extraineous detail, and especially components that are hyped to be much more than they are, do not necessarily add value and wreak of companies getting too focused on managing the scale their business, offering products before they are ready because of some managers personal schedule and career goals vs. meaningful innovation, that ultimately brings in the $$$, and builds brand loyalties over time.
Volume does not equal Value. Less is more if it is done in the best way that it can be done.

  • Flash and After Effects integration

I made an animated text in After Effects and I want to now bring it into flash without a background. How do I do this? I am working with AfterEffects 7.0 and Flash CS3.

OK!!!!  I just got this today!!!!
The following is a fix for Distorted video in Adobe Production Premium CS3 suite of products, including After Effects and FLASH.....
When on an Intel Mac, using Leopard, or Snow Leopard (I'm on a very newest MacBook Pro, with newest version of Snow Leopard).... and Adobe Production Premium CS3, you need to select "Open using Rosetta" for the affected applications.  This cleans up the video.
When I tried to import an Animation codec and DV video into After Effects CS3, without this option enabled, I get very, very seriously distorted video!  Like the viewing is set to 1/10 resolution!
When I enable "Open using Rosetta", it cleans right up to what I expect.
THOUGH, for some reason, there is no "Open using Rosetta" with Adobe Premiere Pro CS3!?  So it's video is distorted and I don't know that fix yet (though I'm using Final Cut Pro, so it doesn't really matter to me).  I do want to start using Premiere Pro (it's one of the first video editing programs I started with, before Avid and before FCP.... I use Premiere Pro with a Radius Video Vision card and last, I think version 1.0?  And stop at version 4.21 (because version 5.0 was unusable!  Then FCP came out, I started with FCP 1.0).
HOw you enable "Rosetta" is..... click once on the Application icon to select it, then type in "Command+I" to "Get Info".  In the "Get Info" window there is an option to "check", or "un-check" "Open using Rosetta".  Check that box and close the window.  Now boot up into After Effects CS3 and you should be able to import clean Animation codec QuickTimes and DV!
    Hope this helps!
I've been looking for this for about a year!!!!
AND, did an intensive search start two days ago, when a client absolutely needed to have this working and I didn't have an answer, until just a short while ago!
I support over 40 MacPro's all with Adobe Production Premium CS3 and FInal Cut Pro.... along with two SAN's (Xsan and SANmp), two networks and etc.,,,, also including a newest Avid facility for ABC/Disney!!!!  Normally, even though we have After Effects on all systems, most producer/editors only use PhotoShop and occasionally AE.... but this time the Producer/Editor absolutely needed AE CS3....
    All's good now!!!!

  • AE CC 2014.1 error : internal verification failure (Unexpected match name searched for in group)

    Hi,
First of all, forgive me for my basic english.
I'm a creative cloud suscriber and recently update AE with CC2014.1.
I worked for several months on a project, but since last update, on some composition, i have an error windows pop in who say :
    "After effects error: internal verification failure, sorry! {unexpected match name searched fo in group}
(screenshot here -imgur: the simple image sharer )
i have look everywhere but i can't get any info on this issue, and there is no support for after effect.
I can't afford to loose all those hours of work, may some of you have some information / solution about that ?
Help me Obi-Wan Kenobi. You're my only hope !
    Thank you for your time

Well, you don't have to update in knee-jerk fashion, do you?  Is it absolutely mandatory that you have to have the Newest Thing On The Block from Day 1?  You weren't so busy that you couldn't  spare the time to do the update, weren't you?
You used the word, "we", which indicates more than one individual is running the same software.  Is it not possible to devise a strategy where the updates take place one at a time, so you can observe the potentially-adverse effects?
Oh, you can do it, but I don't think you WANT to do it... either because you like to have the newest thing, no one in the shop is willing to work a little later to do it one machine at a time, or you simply don't have a plan in place.  Sorry if that's harsh, but it seems to me that early adopters without an eatrly adoption plan put their livelihoods at risk by jumping on the bleeding edge.  Adobe, Apple, Avid, Autodesk, Whoeveritis...  changes in software contain bugs, and you don't know what those bugs are.  Would you rather be the one EXPERIENCING the bugs or just reading about them?
Okay, now I'll step down off my soapbox.

  • Adobe Premiere and After Effects CS6 installer failed to initialize on Mac Book Air

    Hi everybody,
I'm trying to install Adobe Premiere and After Effects CS6 for at least a month now.
I have downloaded the .dmg file at the Adobe Website and it starts to initializing the installer, then a error show up:
"The installer could not initialize. Download the Adobe Support Advisor."
There is no Adobe Support Advisor when I clicked on the link. "The Adobe Support Advisor has been discontinued" (http://www.adobe.com/support/loganalyzer/)
I've tried this many times, but every time being a failure.

  • Problem with Matrox Mini, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 570, Premiere 5.5.2 and After Effects CS5.5

    Hello,
We have a couple video workstation PC's in our office.
Premiere and After Effects have been crashing lately with increasing frequency - about every two minutes now.
    Here is the setup:
    Hardware
Matrox Mini - Matrox Utility release 5.5.1
Nvidia GeForce GTX 570 - Driver release 275.33
Intel Xeon X5660 2.8 GHz processors
    24 GB Ram
    Software
    Adobe CS5.5, specifically...
    After Effects 10.5.0.253
    Premiere 5.5.2
    Windows 7 64-bit
We have two 21" LCD monitors in dual display running from the computer, and the Matrox Mini outputs a preview signal to a 15" CRT.
The crashes occur when I have After Effects and Premiere open at the same time. I am editing in a Matrox 720p29.97 timeline in Premiere. I imported several compositions from AE into Premiere through Dynamic Link and am matching audio with the animations in comps. When I switch back to AE to make an edit in the comp, After Effects generates a crash warning and then gives me the opportunity to save the project under a new name. After saving, it closes down completely. The Matrox WYSIWYG Control Panel in the system tray crashes during AE's crash, disabling the preview to the CRT from Premiere and AE. Since the Premiere sequence is a Matrox preset - in order to have output to the CRT - this freezes the timeline; the video and audio no longer play. When I save and then try to close Premiere, Premiere freezes and will not close without a force quit via the Task Manager.
In order to deal with this temporarily, I am editing in an AVCHD 720p30 sequence preset in Premiere, which doesn't send a preview feed to the CRT, obviously, since it's not a Matrox preset and the CRT is connected via the Matrox Mini. It's more than a minor inconvenience, since I use the CRT for color accuracy.
It is frustrating, since we did not have this problem until the recent CS5.5.2 update. We have tried changing drivers for the GTX 570 and changing the Matrox utility software to other versions, but no luck.
Is there a combination of GTX 570 drivers, Matrox software releases, and AE/Premiere settings that will make this work? I know there are "Known Issue" posts with Nvidia cards on Matrox's website, which include the GTX 570, but, again, this problem started with the Adobe CS5.5.2 update.
Any help here would be great, and I am willing to provide more information about the system and our crashes if it helps find a solution for the community, as I know this is not an isolated problem after reading Nvidia's, Matrox's, and Adobe's forums. I just can't find a hollistic solution on any of the individual manufacturer's forums.
    Thank You.
    Jordan

I've been running with Matrox for years, starting with the Axio LE. I do 75% broadcast work and find that the Matrox works very well with my kind of workflow. Monitoring is critical and since we have to deal with 3rd. party solutions, Matrox was my pick dating way back to 2006. Sure I've had frustrations with it, but I've made far more money off Matrox than frustration.
       Here's my nearly crash-free setup:
    Gigabyte GZ-X58A-OC moboard
Intel 990X (only overclocking to 4.0)
    24Gb of Kingston HyperX Ram
    GTX580 Graphics Card
    Matrox MXO2-LE w/Max
Crucial 240Gb Sata III drive (the one that has a nearly perfect score on Newegg's site)
    2 x 2Tb WD Blacks Raid 0
    2 x 1Tb WD Blacks Raid 0
Win 7 Ultimatte (it's a high-end version of Windows that's great for keying!)
    CS5.5 Suite
    Boris Red 5
    Boris Continuum Complete 8
Trapcode Shine, Form, 3d Stroke, Starglow, and Particular
    Optical Flares by Video CoPilot
The reason I list all of that software, is that it all seems to get along together, including with Matrox! So, I can't say I highly endorse Matrox because I've never tried Black Magic or running an external monitor off of my video card.
I use After Effects with all sorts of plug ins and rarely have crashes. If I put in a long day I'll have the usual crashes here and there (mainly with PremierePro), but nothing that has required evan a soft reboot of the computer.
My frustration with Matrox is mainly the delay that often comes with Adobe coming out with a new release and Matrox taking 2 or 3 months to catch up, though when Adobe went from 5 to 5.5, there was no delay at all.
I think that a lot of the people who trash Matrox probably haven't used a Matrox product in years. But before you listen to me, I must confess that I was an early adopter (and advocate) of SSDs and even today, many people on this forum think they're still a waste of money!
I'll close by simply saying that I've not left Matrox after 5+ years, but keep in mind I haven't had the bad experiences that so many others seem to have had, but again, perhaps they had those bad experiences long ago.

  • Why is Dynamic Link between Premiere Pro CC 2014 and After Effects CC 2014 not syncing audio changes?

When I try to use a Dyamic Link between something I've cut in Premiere and a composition in After Effects, if it is simply an audio level change it will not update in AE.  Only if I alter the Video track does it then take the changes reflected.  Any suggestions as to what is causing this?
Running Adobe Premiere Pro CC 2014 and After Effects CC 2014.

As Dave alludes, AfterEffects is all about the visual changes ... or at least, mostly. For changes to the audio outside of PrPro's internal controls, highly suggested you use Audition instead. It is all about the sound ... and yes, will update PrPro when used correctly.

  • 27 inch iMac for editing and After Effects

Hey everyone. I'm a student who does heavy video and After Effects work. Right now my core 2 duo macbook pro is not cutting it when it comes to performance and render times.
Luckily, my budget is around $2200-2300 thanks to money I should have leftover from my college fund (thank you, mom and dad).
I was looking at the MacBook Pro 15 inch until I discovered the 27 inch imacs that are in the library multimedia center. The screen size is great because there's so much space to work with and details come out a lot clearer.
But from a hardware and price perspective, the 27inch imac with a quad core 3.1 ghz intel core i7, 1 tb hdd, and a 2gb AMD Radeon HD 6970m is around $100 LESS than the MacBook Pro with a quad core 2.4 ghz, 750 gb 5400 rpm, and 1 gb 6770m.
The only tradeoff is portability, but given the difference in spec, i'm starting to say its worth it.
I know that a lot of AE is dependant on CPU and lots of RAM per CPU. Upgrading to 16 gb of ram is getting cheaper and cheaper (it also helps that the imac has 4 ram slots). The iMac can actually support 32 gb of ram, so when that becomes available that is another nice plus.
So just doing the math, with 16 gb of ram that would be a 3.1 ghz quad core intel i7 with 4 gb of ram per core. 8gb of ram when upgraded to 32 gb of memory.
I'm not sure what Apple is gonna do with the next iMac refresh, so I will probably wait until then to make a decision.
Does anyone have experience with AE on the 27 inch iMac with similar specs?
    Many thanks,
    Dan.

Several other drawbacks to the iMac or any other all-in-one computer system:
    1) The GPU cannot be upgraded at all (at least not internally). In fact, iMacs cannot have their AMD (formerly ATi) GPUs disabled at all. And Premiere Pro CS5.x supports only NVIDIA CUDA GPUs for MPE GPU acceleration. (The current iMacs cannot be equipped at all with any GPU besides AMD/ATi.) Premiere Pro is thus forced to run in MPE software-only mode, which is much slower than with GPU acceleration.
    2) No iMac has any room at all whatsoever for more than one single fast internal hard drive. Unfortunately, the interface that the iMac employs, SATA, is only a half-duplex interface (which means that data transfers can only move in one direction at a time). But video editing requires a disk system that does simultaneous reads and writes - but with only one disk connected only by a half-duplex connection, the system must wait for a given block of read operations to be completed before any writes of a given data can even begin at all. This slows down overall editing and encoding performance substantially.
    3) Additional hard drives can be added externally - but the current external hard drive options available for the iMac are either very expensive or very slow. That's because the iMac has absolutely no USB 3.0 or eSATA capability whatsoever. The iMac has only USB 2.0 and Thunderbolt ports - but external Thunderbolt hard drives still cost nearly twice as much money per GB as other external hard drives, and USB 2.0 is limited in sequential transfers to only around 35 MB/s - far slower than the drives themselves are physically capable of (140 to 188 MB/s). Plus, of course, USB 2.0, like SATA, is only half duplex.

  • Bridge and after effects

    Hi!
I'm new to after effects, but not new the adobe programs. I could be considered a "power user" for several of their products.
I'm currently trying to teach myself how to use After Effects with the classroom in a book series. In that teaching series, one of the things they are trying to teach is the integration between bridge and after effects to preview, and then export, effects. However, the integration between these two softwares is proving to be very buggy.
As per the instructions in the book, I'm supposed to be able to preview the text special effects in bridge, and then place them to a selected layer in after effects, but what usually happens is nothing. After several attempts, I came to the conclusion that this part of the software wasn't working. I was able to work around this by going to the effects panel in After effects and dragging and dropping it onto the selected layer. I only use bridge to preview.
Unfortunately, I've hit a technical snafu with loading an animated path. It's not working in the after effects panel, and when I try to export it from bridge as per the books instructions, I get this error message: "After Effects error: Can't import file "Pipes.ffx": unsupported filetype or extension."
Does anyone have an idea as to what's going on? I'm on a mac running mavericks, using the most recent downloads of Affects and Bridge.
    Thanks for your help!
    All best-
    Jane

  • 3ds max, viz and autocad problems with bootcamp

I recently bought a new mac pro 2 quad 3.0 as a workstation. I have two hardrives installed one for mac os system and the other one is for windows and bootcamp.
The problem is that after using 3dsmax or any autodesk program for a while. I turn off the computer and comeback next day and click to continue on my 3ds max file and asks me to activate the software again. This is typical for viz, or autocad. I have to call autodesk every day to activate my software. Tired of reactivating the software everyday...
They told me the problem is with bootcamp..
    anybody has any recoomendations?
    plz help..

I am going through the same problem with v9 and 2008. I am running a MacPro workstation with bootcamp to Vista. I was using v9 fine until I upgraded to 2008 and then the licensing issues happened when switching between Mac/PC. I also upgraded to Leopard so I don't know who is to blame. I want to know if Autdesk changed the licensing technology or if the newer bootcamp in Leopard is the problem. Now I'm wishing I didn't get the Mac thinking I could run core apps like 3DSMax.

  • I need to reinstall my computer, how do I deal with Premiere pro and After effects?

    Hello,
As my question states I need to reinstall my computer (laptop) and I'm not quite sure on how to deal with Premiere pro and After effects.
I am thinking that I need to do some sort of backup and save my projects and footage on a sepparate drive.
If I reinstall my computer, install my creative suit production premium, and move back all of my projects and footage, won't I have to re-link every single clip?
I am currently workning on several different projects and having to re-link everything is something I don't even want to think about, that would take me days if not weeks.
Another option on my mind would be to use Creative cloud. I do have the free version but I have never used it even once before and I'm not quite sure what the purpose of the cloud is and if this is a way to use it.
I have no idea how to go about this computer reinstalation without either loosing tons of work or having to re-link every single clip used.
I am videoediting only as a hobby so I have no experience working with other people and sharing projects or the like, wich is my understanding of what the cloud is for.
Any and all help would be grealty appreciated, I know this is probably really easy but ever since i got my Suit I haven't reinstalled, upgraded och changed my computer so I am just clueless as to how to go about this.
I have Creative suit production premium, I also have the free Creative cloud.
It is only Premiere pro and After effects that I am using and am worried about.
    Thank you for any help.

(and oh, I just notice my name - umustbejoking - I think I just wrote that cause they wouldn't let me use anything else, saying it was already taken. So nevermind that haha.)

If the computer's running Mac OS X, move the cursor to the very top of the computer's screen, click on Store, and choose Authorize this Computer.
If the computer's running Windows, press the Alt and S keys and choose Authorize this Computer, or click here, follow the instructions, click on Store in the menu bar, and choose Authorize this Computer.

  • Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects CS5.5 Lagging Horribly with Dynamic Link

I just bought a brand new computer. It is a beast
    Windows 7 64-bit
Intel i7-980 6 cores with HT = 12 CPU cores
    Nvidia GTX 570HD 1280mb 328 bit
    120gb SSD sata 3
    600 gb Velociraptor drive 10000rpm
    8gb DDR3 1866MHZ ram
So you would think I would get no lag. But for some reason, when I edit in premier pro or after effects, especially when I use dynamic link with premiere and after effects. It lags realllllly badly. I am talking about 5fps and I have to pause and wait like 20 secs then hit play again to get 5 secs of smoothness and then the laggyness returns. I am not even using heavy footage. It is footage off of a Canon 5D Mark II h.264. I tried messing around with all the settings but I cannot get anywhere. Anyone know what the problem might be? I don't have any other programs running since I just installed these. This lag is really holding me back and I cannot edit properly because of it.

Your memory is ill configured, since you are using it in dual channel mode instead of triple channel mode and 8 MB is about bare minimum. You would be better off if you were to increase memory to 24 GB. Secondly, your disk configuration is the absolute minimum requirement, so adding a couple of disks will help performance as well.

Mistake. It is one of the most demanding codecs on the market. Look here: Adobe Forums: System requirements for CS5
You could try the PPBM5 Benchmark to see how well your setup performs.
