3EA3 - Can't clear persisted sort

I have a large table which I was viewing in the data grid having applied a filter and then a sort.
When I go back into the table, it attempts to sort the whole table which takes too long and hogs resources on the server.
I have tried clearing the persisted settings in preferences - doesn't work.
If I interrupt the query, and click on the sort button to try to clear the sort nothing happens.
This has rendered SQL Developer unusable for the piece of work I am currently doing.

I can't use the sort dialog. Clicking on the sort button at the top of the data grid does nothing. There is a null pointer exception in the console, implying that it is looking for a column list. I assume the column list doesn't exist because the query to populate the data grid didn't finish.
I need more details on why delete persisted settings action is not working. The expected result is a) a dialog stating success/failure in deleting the settings b) file deleted from the settings directory
What's happening in your case ? Nothing. No dialog box, and I can't tell if a file was deleted. Nothing in the console when I press the button either.
I tried to find the file to delete manually, but despite much searching I couldn't find anything with the relevant order by clause in it.
I ended up deleting my entire setting directory just to get working again.

You can try these steps in case of issues with web pages:
Reload web page(s) and bypass the cache to refresh possibly outdated or corrupted files.
*Hold down the Shift key and left-click the Reload button
*Press "Ctrl + F5" or press "Ctrl + Shift + R" (Windows,Linux)
*Press "Command + Shift + R" (Mac)
Clear the cache and cookies only from websites that cause problems.
"Clear the Cache":
*Firefox/Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Cached Web Content: "Clear Now"
"Remove Cookies" from sites causing problems:
*Firefox/Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: "Show Cookies"
Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode|Safe Mode]] to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).

Firstly you DO NOT have to do a factory reset / wipe device, it is simply not required to get the space back!!
Mine had 3GB and I just got rid of it all, here is how:
METHOD ONE:
Make a backup in iTunes
open iBackupBot (Google it)
Go to the relevant backup
Click on Multimedia File Manager and click on the other Multimedia files tab
Sort by filename by clicking the Filename tab
Find MediaDomain/Library/SMS/Attachments and highlight all of them, then press delete. You can also click to export to a folder of your choice, if you want to save them that is.
Then go to System Files>MediaDomain>Library>SMS>Attachments
They will be all listed here, highlight them all and press delete
Then just restore that backup using iTunes!
Tadaa! Space recovered, your messages are still there but without the attachments! METHOD TWO:
Backup your device in iTunes and then to iCloud
Go to Settings>iCloud and toggle Documents & Data to OFF
Then do a 2nd backup to iTunes and iCloud
Then restore the device from iCloud and the message attachments should be gone, turn Documents & Data back on again in the settings
PLEASE NOTE: Method two is a much longer process but some users may feel more comfortable with this method.
P.S You may want to make two backups in case you get any of the above steps wrong, but it is simple to follow the above and not do anything wrong!
P.P.S You could also just go through every single conversation and delete the attachments one by one, but if you have hundreds or thousands of attachments, this will take a VERY LONG TIME!!!

Can't Filter or Sort

I made a table in Numbers '09 and for some reason I can't filter or sort or anything using the Reorganize feature.
I've even followed the Tutorial video to sort and filter to the T.
I don't understand why I can't sort or filter this one table, I tried it on a brand new blank template, and I can sort and filter just fine.
What's going on?

One of these days I'll remember to update the software and charge the batteries for my crystal ball. That, or a teleportation machine that could put me in a position to look over your shoulder while you went through the steps.
Until then, I'm afraid you'll have to provide a clearer and more detailed description of what you do, step by step, and what your Mac does at each of those steps.

PS: Have you tried sorting the document when it is opened in another User account on your machine?
Have you tried exporting the document to an MS Excel formatted file, then reopening that version in Numbers, then attempting to sort it.
The first is a useful diagnostic step in trying to locate the source of the issue. The second can serve to filter some corruption issues out of the file through the conversion process in each direction.

Help with GR/IR, can't clear on MR11

Please help with this case:
We had a purchase with delivery cost included. We create MIGO with no problem. (Credit to GR/IR account = $60)
We cancel the delivery cost in MR11. (Debit to GR/IR Account = $60)
After a few months, we restore Delivery Cost in MR11SHOW (Credit to GR/IR account = $50)
Create MIRO to freight vendor in MIRO (Debit to GR/IR account = $60)
As you may see, now can't clear GR/IR account because there's a difference (60 vs 50) and can't use MR11 neither, I get this error:
No data selected. Check selection parameters!!
Message no. CKMLGRIR009
I have tried with so many post, but can't find anything that works....

After we cancel the delivery cost with MR11 (let's say, in January) the freight vendor asked us for his payment (in April) and then we realised that we need to restore the delivery cost...
What we did is cancel the MR11 document that we had created before... and there's when the difference in GR/IR was generated.....
I hope that this comments makes a little bit clearer my explanation.

Custom duty is a delivery cost. You can process the delivery cost before GR even with activation of "GR Based IV".
Control due to "GR Based IV" is applicable for goods item invoice.

By coincidence, this happened to my son just last night. You do NOT have to restore it to a new phone, but you probably want a current backup.
Luckily, you can still sync and back it up even if it's locked, so connect it to the computer you usually sync it to. Go to the summary page. It's easiest and fastest to use a local backup, so if iCloud backup is on, turn it off and click "Backup now".
After it backs up, either click "Restore iPhone", or
- hold home and the top button until the screen goes black, release the top and continue to hold the home button until iTunes says "iPhone in recovery mode detected".
Follow instructions to restore from backup, and then sync to restore content. Your phone will come up in an unlocked state. If you have any stuff that was purchased directly to the iPhone (only), you'll have to re-download it.
Remember to turn iCloud backups back on if you use them.
If you don't sync you iPhone to a computer then I *think* those instructions with the buttons will put it into a mode where you can restore it from the cloud (make sure it is NOT connected to a computer while you do this). Otherwise, you will have to restore it as a new phone, then go to settings, reset, then restore it from the cloud.

The idea to jumpstart by change was not the smartest one, but gives you an opportunity to use that "temporary" account as permanent. You do not have a choice cause obviously despite you thinking that old account is no more -it does exist on Apple servers. And if you are unwilling to share your [email protected] with friend, just create one extra [email protected] for your friend. One suggestion - do not use gmail.

There is no way to clear the update notifications - unless you delete the apps completely from the iPad and from iTunes on your computer.
Obviously you want to continue to use the apps, so you either have to update the iPad and get the newer versions - or just ignore the update notifications. They will not go away.

I can't clear single item in Location Bar History

I can't clear single item in Location Bar History. I use Firefox 3.6.13 on Mac 10.6.5.
I do select the item in location bar, press Shift and delete keys, but it delete the item only temporary...
My Firefox Privacy pref indicate:
- Use custom settings for history
- Suggest History when using location bar

Entries in the location bar drop down list with a yellow (blue on Mac) star at the right end are bookmarks. 
You can remove such a bookmarked item that shows in the list if you open that url in a tab and click the yellow star in the location bar. 
This will open the Edit This Bookmark dialog and you can click the Remove button to remove the bookmark. 
This can also be a problem with the file places.sqlite that stores the bookmarks and the history.
