3G maps doesn't work after 4.2 updates

Question

I have googled this, called Apple, and contacted an Apple iPhone Engineer personally. Everyone at Apple insists this is not a known issue, but judging by how many posts there are about it, it can't be unknown... After all, I just told them, right?
Anyway, I've tried everything out there from turning off Location Services (with Restart) to Reseting Network (opening Maps outside and selecting the gps symbol). The map freezes, crashes, and bottom line - does not work anymore. It used to work over a year and a half ago.

1. I use the same browser (on my lap top) when testing the app. with version 4.1 vs. 4.2.1. The app. for version 4.2.1 doesn’t redirect after successful authentication.
2. The server admin checked the log on server and he doesn’t see any indication that either Apache or the browser has any effect on the page that it is going to.

I came across other discussions in the forums (and articles) and it seemed that there was some behavior in the login/logout processing has changed with the apex 4.1.1 patch set. We’re currently on apex 4.1.0, so I guess that explains why the same application runs fine in 4.1.0 but not in 4.2.1.
I changed
--owa_util.redirect_url('f?p=' || :APP_ID || ':2:' || :APP_SESSION || '::NO::');
to
:FSP_AFTER_LOGIN_URL := 'f?p='||:APP_ID||':'|| '2'||':'||v('SESSION')||'::NO:::';
Now, the application is redirect to correct page. We have to modify other applications in order to upgrade to 4.2.1.
