3G Maps not locating? Edge works fine... why?

So I have the iPhone 3G white and my wife has the black, both 16GB.
I live in Ventura County, CA.
I hit locate while in Maps while using 3G and it says I am Costa Mesa, Ca.
That is 102 miles away.
However, I switch to the Edge network and it finds me fine.
This is same for both phones, anybody know why this could be happening?

Ok got it to work now...
If I walk outside about 200 ft away from my house, the locating pin jumps from Costa Mesa to Ventura.
I still don't know why it was locating me in a random area 100 miles away as opposed to just not being able to find me. Maybe some near by satellite dishes were interfering or something. Maybe it couldn't pull all the necessary data and gave me a best estimate of where I was. Who knows.

Can you describe what you mean by "experiencing slow response"? Do you mean that you don't see the new responses as they come in? Does it takes up to two hours before they show up in the View Responses table when they show up immediately at your other location? And what do you mean but "the form not displaying"? Are you talking about the fillable form or the editable form in FormsCentral?
Can you please add me as co-author ([email protected]) of the form so that I can investigate on my side.

HT1369 Ipod nano 7th gen, itunes cannot locate device, worked fine 4 16 mths, have reinstalled itunes & usb mass storage, still has !. not teccy and thoughts?

My itunes account cannot identify my device, worked fine until yesterday. Sons computer can locate the same device. Not very tech savvy, but checked device manager and the Mass Storage Device has a yellow ! which updated, re installing etc cannot get rid of. I have reinstalled itunes as well, still does not recognise my device.any assistance is appreciated

Have a look at TS1363: iPod: Appears in Windows but not in iTunes.
You should keeps copies of everything on your iPod in your iTunes library so that it can be reloaded should the need arise. See Recover your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device for retrieval steps once your device is visible.

SWC errors, while SWF works fine, why?

Edit: I have tried using pure theora libs (no ffmpeg) and the same result - I have created a simple app showing theora info. When launched as standalone,works (shows theora version). As SWC, error "can't allocate encoder context". Anyone any idea why it's failing with allocations in SWC? This is really frustrating, seems I can't get anything video related to work. Is SWC able to support anything more than some simple C stuff?
Hi, I'm trying to make ffmpeg work through my custom SWC library which would encode multiple frames to MPEG1. I was "almost" finished now - managed to put together a test app which upon exporting to SWF displays nice progress log(I'm test encoding 25 frames in MPEG1, so it shows encoding frame 1... X bytes, encoding frame 2...X bytes etc.), all is great up to this point.
The problem is, when I emit this to swc. When calling my magic encode test function in the SWC - first, I've got stack overflow error in "dsputil_static_init". This was already weird, but I figured out that I didn't need the static init for mpeg1 encoding after exploring ffmpeg a bit, so I tried to disable this call in ffmpeg source. Then recompiled ffmpeg, my lib, tested and SWF still appears to be working fine without it. But again, when exporting to SWC - it didn't stack overflow, but this time my library errors out with "can't find codec".
I have 3 variants of the code actually - SWF, SWC and one executable which produces a real .mpg file so I can have better proof than "encoding frame X". And it still produces a good mpeg when executd from cygwin's command line. The only problem is the SWC.
My basic confusion is - why if SWF/executable with the same libs etc. working fine, and then the SWC is failing on me? I'd really need to fix this somehow, but I don't understand the reasons, I thought once it's working in SWF it will work as SWC.

Ok, this is what I did
1) I've got the globalplayer 11.5 from Adobe's archive, copied it to the corresponding folder(right next to 11.1 which was already included in my Flex).
2) mxmlc -static-link-runtime-shared-libraries -compiler.omit-trace-statements=false -library-path=decoding_encoding.swc -debug=false Document.as -o swcdemo.swf -target-player=11.5 -swf-version=18
Where decoding_encoding.swc is my former c library, Document.as only calls one function(the encoding one). This got me the swf.
3) I run this swf in debug player, in IE (11.6), and error is popping up.
In flashlog.txt I found this:

Could not open codec            <-- FAIL again, this fails also in theora at a similar function (register codec context..huh?)

All works! So I really don't understand, how can it work in the emitted SWF while in emitted SWC it already doesn't work? Is there a different way the swc is built, is it the way it manages memory at runtime, being restricted somehow by the main SWF, or is it just some stupid switch or setting. I'd need to see a little deeper into how the SWC is build I guess to fully understand this issue. Do you have any isnight into this ilookha, or someone else? Or perhaps any other idea.
I'm now trying to see if I can try to trace out the exact point of the issue in theora lib, basically I included AS3.h in their source code and now placing inline AS3 "trace" commands into the register codec function.
I have traced in theora's lib inside th_encode_alloc function where it fails, and located the first obvious reason:

I'm getting "enc is NULL". Which results into codec not found, because the whole function returns NULL. So it seems _ogg_malloc is failing to allocate memory. I bet the same reason goes for ffmpeg. _ogg_malloc is:

Hyper-v cannot boot Gen2 guest from Windows 2012 R2 or Windows 8.1 x64 ISO - file format not supported, Gen1 works fine

I am new to Gen2 Hyper-V and so far I simply can't use it, because I am unable to install any (supported) guest OS from an ISO ...
So far I tried that on:
1. my HP Z230/i4770 workstation (Secure Boot disabled) host running Windows 8.1 Pro x64 (with Hyper-V feature enabled), can't boot any VM with supported OS ISO.
2. my home desktop/i3770K (secure Boot enabled) host running Windows 8.1 Pro x64, same result, error during VM boot from ISO, quoted below.
Synthetic SCSI controller (instance blah blah) Failed to Power on with Error 'The version does not support this version of file format'
Gen1 guests of course work perfectly fine with those ISOs, because emulated DVD IDE picks up the official Enterprise Evaluation ISO of either Windows Server 2012 R2 or Windows 8.1 x64 Enterprise, perfectly fine and all works OK in Legacy boot mode.
When I create a new guest and select Gen2, then no matter if I check or uncheck the Secure Boot in virtual Boot Order options for the guest (while setting the SCSI DVD at top of course), it simply doesn't work, always same error. I tried first connecting
to VM to see if it prompts for key press, but it doesn't, the error is instant on Power on when (supported) ISO image is selected to be booted.
I verified that both of official Enterprise Evaluation ISO's of either WS2012r2 and W8.1x64 are bootable in both the UEFI mode (Secure Boot enabled) and Legacy BIOS mode using a physical computer.
What am I missing here???

FYI, above is wrong! it's not about linking ISO to virtual DVD or selecting "Install OS later", it's all about the location of the ISO file and share permissions on parent folder!
I was actually suspecting several issues, but haven't had time to test it, was thinking about issues like assigning (or not) some of initial settings during Gen2 VM creation, e.g.:
-Network connection through virtual switch or Not Connected (make no different if assigned or not)
-Memory above 4096MB (makes no difference if < or > 4096MB)
-ISO file location (makes huge difference!)
The ISO file CANNOT be placed on network share OR in shared folder on same local drive as the VHDX file (works fine if parent folder is not shared).
I can now replicate the issue easily every time and it always fails with file format unsupported message whenever I have the ISO file located either on remote network share, or (fails the same way too) when I have the ISO file placed locally (on host drive)
when simply a parent folder is shared... must be some permissions issue... and a pretty dumb one considering that in production environments nearly everything is placed on remote file servers ...
... so the moral of the story is, if you want to install Gen2 VM in win8/2012 hyper-V then you must copy the ISO file to Hyper-V host drive AND make sure the parent folder is not shared. works every time now! :)

I can't get the local Lowes store with Firefox, IE works fine, why?

I am having trouble getting to the website of my local Lowes store. I am able to get to lowes.com but when i try to show the store locator to pick a local store nothing happens. It is important to be able to get the local store website so as to be able to see pricing and availability of items. With internet explorer this happens automatically, but not so with Firefox. Any help with this problem would be greatly appreciated. P.S. I did not have this problem with Home Depot.

PLease could you help me too. I have been onto support through several emails and online helps and they do not understand the problem correctly and have not resolved it. I have photoshopcc 2014. If I click on add layer mask icon I get a white thumbnail. That seems ok. I then select a brush - set to normal etc. all ok. Then I attempt to either brush in or out on my photo to reveal or hide bits of layer below and it no longer works.
Weirdly, I noticed it was not selected in channels. So I checked the layer mask in channels and then back in layers it works except now it works by painting on a rubylith (which it did not do before 2014 version) then when I am done if I click apply mask everything works ok and it is done. It just does not work unless I select in channels.
This also happens if I apply an adjustment layer. The adjustment comes into the thumbnails with a mask and the mask is unselected in channels, I have to select and it paints a ruby lith.
If I go to layers in the menu however and select layer mask hide all or reveal all then select my brush it works fine and as it normally did before.
I have tried re installing etc. and every bit of normal advice but nothing works. Can you help or do you know anyone who can. As I am desperate here is my email: [email protected]

Username and password are not apparently an Apple Care issue they refer you to iTunes support (email) to resolve this issue with iTunes and Netflix account

Latest apple software update on Mac --cant view Microsoft exchange connected email on macbook pro. Loads but not viewable. Works fine on iPhone

Updated the lastest apple software to my macbook pro and now I can no longer read my emails from my microsoft exchange email. The email arrives in my inbox and you can open it -- but when you try and read the content -- it says loading..... but never loads. It worked fine this weekend -- but after I udpate the last apple software update it stopped working. I can read the emails fine on my iphone (same email account) but not on my macbook pro.
I called Apple and they could not figure out a solution to the problem -- is anyone else having this trouble?

IPod not recognised after working fine for over a year

I got my mini ipod Christmas 2004 and it has worked beautifully ever since, until recently.
I plugged in my ipod to my laptop which is the computer I usually update and use itunes on and it states “USB Devise not recognised”, the usual “do not disconnect” sign didn’t show on my actual ipod. I downloaded the updates for everything available and I reloaded itunes but nothing works! I even tried it on another computer where it works fr a while and then the same problem just happened again.
Please can someone help, I love my little ipod and would like to have him fixed!

Just update Yosemite to 10.2.2 and now LR5 has that dreaded spinning wheel. Takes about 30 seconds for each click of Wacom pen or mouse. Adobe Bridge will not open. Worked fine prior to this update. have the latest LR5 installed and Bridge CC

It's usually necessary to clean up whats left behind after updating OSX.
Try trashing the prefs. Start by quitting Lightroom 5.
Launch Finder and click the Go menu whilst holding down the Option (alt) key. Then go to Library >> Preferences and clear everything relating to LR5 which usually means deleting the following files:
com.adobe.Lightroom5.plist
com.adobe.Lightroom5LSSharedFileList.plist
Then re-launch Lightroom.
Also look for the corresponding files for LR4 and Bridge plist files.

Airport Express works fine - why doesn't Time Capsule?

Hi - I have a new Time Capsule and am very excited to get this working. Previously I have used an Airport Express to create a wireless network with very few issues. I worked through all the various setup including updating all my software. I've completed the setup via the airport utility and everything seems to work save my internet connectivity. The odd thing that I know I have a live connection via my ethernet cable given that it works fine with my airport express. I have tried all the recos as regards turning the modem and TC off / on for more than a few times. Does anyone have any advice that might help? Thanks very much, Jeff

Well you can't do it with a Time Capsule.
You could get an Apple TV instead of an Air Port Express and then you can get video as well..
