3G on two ipads

My wife and I both have ipads. I have gone through a month with 3G on mine. I'd like to have it on both ipads but the 2gb plan is more than we need. What would seem perfect is if we could share one 3G 2gb plan on these . Is this possible? The 250 mb plan wouldn't do it for either of us.

I think it is possible if you share one SIM. Obviously you both could not use cellular at the same time.

  • Game center on two iPads and one Apple ID

I own 2 iPads and use a single Apple ID so I have the same apps and music on my two devices. When my wife created an account on the second iPad it shows no games because they were purchased under my account.
Please tell me I'm missing something and there's a way to play multiplayer games between my two iPads without buying the games twice for the two iPads I own.
    Thanks.

UM THERE ISN'T! u either got to change the account names or they are both going to be the same! Consolation: for now they reflect as one player for both devices but they may update to include something to fix this issue later on so I WOULD PHONE APPLE STORE WHERE U PURCHASED THE IPADS AND ASK THEM WHAT U SHOULD DO AND THEY MAY TELL U IT'S COMING SOON OR THAT IT'S NOT POSSIBLE AT ALL (in which case U NEED 2 of everything!!!! Yeah!

  • How do I use iTunes on one computer to manage two iPads with different contents?

I just bought an iPad Air 2 and want to use it with iTunes on my MacBook Pro.  No problem so far!  However, I want to continue to use my "old" iPad 2 for my wife and want to keep managing it as I always have using iTunes on my MacBook Pro.  The thing is that I want to make it possible for the two iPads to have quite different content to allow for the different needs and tastes of my wife and me.  How should I go about this?
    Thanks for any help.

    Hi Brett,
Thanks very much for the information.
I took a look at it but it seems to be aimed solely at "media" on an iPad, i.e. movies, music, TV shows etc.  This is fine, but I also want to be able to deal with all the apps on each iPad too, so that when I connect each iPad to my MacBook through iTunes, the synching process works just like it always has for my first iPad (an IPad 2).  I don't mean that I want all the apps on both iPads to be the same (my wife doesn't need all the apps that are on the iPad 2 at present), but I do want to be able to add/remove/update media and apps on each iPad, and update the iOS on each iPad.
Basically, I guess, I want a situation whereby when I plug in either of the iPads, iTunes recognizes each as a separate device and has a totally separate "library" (backup?) of music, movies, TV shows, etc. and — most importantly — apps.  Is that possible?
    Regards,
    Chris

  • In iPad 1 ios 4 may have two ipad Apps the same from two accounts itunes

In iPad 1 ios 4 may have two ipad Apps the same from two accounts itunes one free other paid account, hence one free App and another paid App the same App?

If both accounts are authorised on your computer's iTunes (Store > Authorise This Computer) then you can download the books from both accounts to there (download the books from one account, then sign out of it via Store > Sign Out, log in with the other account via Store > Sign In and download the books from the other account), and sync them over to the iPad's iBooks app via the Books tab.
Or you might be able to sign out of your account on the iPad by tapping on it Settings > Store and sign in with the other account and download the books from that account - I think that it should work, but it's not something that I've tried so I'm not 100% sure that it will

  • Can we share apps on two ipads using two different accounts on the same computer?

I just got and iPad 2 and am giving my wife my old iPad. She has a separate itune account for her ipod. Can we share apps on the two iPads with two different accounts running on the same computer?

    Dear Dah,
I now have two iPads, which I also (need to) have separate AppleID's for. I understand I can share apps between them if I authorize iTunes on my iMac with both ID's, but I am not quite sure about the correct way to do that. I already have the iMac authorized for AppleID#1. If I go into iTunes and click on Store/Authorize this Computer... and enter my AppleID#2 information into Account name and Password boxes, does this authorize my iMac's iTunes for BOTH ID's or does it just change the authorization from ID#1 to ID#2?
If the former is correct, I understand the way to proceed is to xync up both iPads to iTunes and then I can drag and drop apps from one iPad's library listings to the other, right?
If this is not the correct way to get dual authorizations, what is?
    Thanks!

  • We have two Ipod Touches in the Home and two Ipads. Right now one of the Ipads has a separate user indentity. Can both Ipods be used to use the same library with different user ids's and different passwords.

We have two Ipod touches and two Ipads in our home. Right now both Ipods are using the same used id and password to access itunes and sync music. But recently both os us have downloaded the Ibooks segment to our Ipads and now the only way to sync the second Ipad for Ibooks is to use the same used id and password. But the problem is that with our two Ipads in the home, we established two separate used ids and passwords one for each. Is there a way for me to still use the second Ipod touch and the second Ipad with completely separate userids and passwords. In other words to share the music library I have accumulated and yet to sign in each with our separate identities. That way the Ipads can sync and the Ipod touches can sync. Is this possible.

This is to avoid piracy. What could happen is, people could buy music, and give it away for free online. Usually it is then you buy a complete album off iTunes that it will only be available on one device. It is tied to that account, and the device must be registered to that account to listen to it.

  • Two iPads, One iTunes-- Is This Right?

    Dear Folks,
If it's all it's cracked up to be, I plan to upgrade to the new iPad when it comes out and pass on my current iPad to my housemate. We both use the same iMac, same user account. I think I understand how to manage this properly, but I'm hardly sure. I want to run it past you folks, since a mistake would be, ummm, unfortunate.
I have iTunes set up to "Manually manage music and videos," but otherwise my iPad content is automatically syncced to iTunes.
So, assuming I have my new iPad2 in hand, it goes like this?
    1) Sync the iPad1 to iTunes, just to make sure the iTune's backup record is 100% up to date.
    2) Unplug iPad1, plug in iPad2, and click RESTORE in iTunes. That will move all my apps, personal settings and associated content from iPad1onto iPad2, right? Basically, iPad2 acquires the personality and memory of iPad1.
    3) Manually port my iPad1 music/video library from iTunes into iPad2.
That should leave me with my new iPad set up exactly the way my old one was, right? Same accounts, same functional software, same permissions, etc., right?
Now, returning to the old iPad1, go into Settings/General/Reset and select "Erase all Content and Settings." Then I can hand the machine over to my housemate and she can set it up from scratch, just as if she'd bought it new.
My understanding is that from this point on iTunes is smart enough to recognize that there are two different iPads with two different configs. When we each plug our iPads into the iMac, iTunes will automatically sync iPad1's stuff to the ipad1 backup and iPad2's stuff to the iPad2 backup without us having to tell it which is which (remember, we're handling music/video manually). We don't have to worry about the contents of the two iPads getting somehow commingled.
Did I get this all right?
    Thanks!

    Dear Chris,
Wow, really is just that simple. Thanks; life is rarely that good (even Apple life, which is pretty good).
And thereafter, once my housemate has set up the scrubbed iPad1 as her machine, iTunes really will track them both separately, maintaining separate syncs and backups for each? (again, noting that we don't auto-sync music and video)
Thanks for the hand-holding. I know it's a bit early to be asking, but I like to be prepared.

  • Two iPads on one apple ID

We have just bought a second iPad and have started it up using same apple id as first device. We want to share iTunes purchases etc but don't want to share contacts, calendar etc. what is the best way of managing two iPads within same household?

    - If you do not what to sync calender and contact with any program, then you only need to create a a new Apple ID and use that for the iCloud account. Then yu can sync to the same iTunes library.
    - If you are syncing to anothe cantact or calender then you need to either use seperate comoputer or seperate accounts/login on the computer in additon to a new Apple ID for iCloud.
    See:
How to use multiple iPods, iPads, or iPhones with one computer
You go to Settings>Store and use the one account for all purchases.
You can share iiTunes library tems by home sharing:

The computer I use for Itunes (my laptop) only has XP so I can't use ICloud:(
I have a desktop that operates using with Vista.
I downloaded 10.5 and sought to sync my two iphones and two ipads with the desktop in order to use ICloud. However I got warning messages that if I synced with this computer that had none of my extensive library of apps, music, podcasts, etc. would be on it, I would lose it all.
I did authorize the computer. I knew enough to do that but am terrified that I will lose everything that I have accumulated and still won't be able to use ICloud.
Isn't there a way to do this? Shift my library FROM my devices to the desktop?
    Thanks

This is a tedious solution, which is stupid!  And some users report an inability to reauthorize a computer after an "en masse” deauthorization.  I can’t believe Apple doesn’t provide a list or menu to find out which computers you’ve authorized! Obviously, APPLE knows (or else they couldn’t tell us how many computers we have authorized)--so why can’t they give us access to that information about our own computers??!!!
And for an already-authorized computer with a hard drive that’s since been replaced and upgraded from Mavericks to Yosemite, would it be recognized as a “new computer” and require authorization? Would its previous incarnation (i.e., with the old hard drive and OS) be considered a separate computer? Some users report they can’t authorize a computer after an OS upgrade because of that. Can’t believe we have to do such a bass-ackwards kludge!

  • Can you have two iPads on one iTunes account?

Can i add two iPads to one iTunes account and then move one to another iTunes account at a later date?

I sync three different iDevices with one iTunes account/iTunes library on my Mac. You can select the exact content that you want to sync to each device by customizing the sync settings for each device.
If you want to sync the iPad with another iTunes account or iTunes library at a later date - you will lose all of the content on the iPad from the old iTunes account. You can only sync with one iTunes library at a time and if you consider the iTunes account to be what is in your iTunes library - meaning content that you bought with one particular Apple ID - then you can only sync one account at a time as stated.
Perhaps if you defined or explained exactly what you mean by iTunes account, this could be clarified a little more.

  • Managing two iPads on one iTunes account

Hey, all anyone out there who can help me with managing two iPads, one for home (original model) and one for work (new version)? I'd like to manage all my apps through one iTunes / Apple account. Is that practical? Or should I start a second account?
    [email protected]

Ditto.  iTunes will allow you to pick and choose what you want to put on both.  Just name them something different when setting them up.

  • Can you use FaceTime using two iPads with same apple id

Have two iPads for wife and I. Both use same apple ID account. Can you use FaceTime between them?

Heres what you do. got to settings>facetime>add an email and than add another email (note: cannot be the same email that you use on your apple ID) A verifaction email will be sent. Go to your email account and verify the email by clicking on the link. Now using the other ipad, make a facetime call to the email you just verified and you can now facetime between the two!
One more side note. Make sure that only the email you just verified has a check mark on it. The other ipad shoud have a check mark next to the orginal apple ID email.
