3G stopped playing media???

Hello everyone just recently my iPhone 3G stopped playing music videos and app sounds.
When I connect to youtube and select a video to watch it loads completely but wont play at all...
If I select "play" it will freeze the auto pause. The same thing happens to my music when I try to play it as well. As far as apps go, no sound plays on my apps at all.
I've tried a restore, reset, factory reset, data and setting, wipe and nothing seems to help.
All Help is Greatly Appreciated thanks!

Don't know what you mean by "factory reset" but if you restored in iTunes as a new iPhone (not using a backup) without success, you either have a hardware failure or your phone has been hacked/jailbroken. In either case, there's nothing further you can do other that replacing the phone.

  • Media stopped playing in CS4 Premiere Pro 4.2.1

After rendering a video, the media could not be played in all windows of Premiere Pro 4.2.1. I have edited a lot of videos with this set up.
I reinstalled premiere, did not work.
I reinstalled Quicktime it worked once then stopped again.
I reinstalled Quicktime but this time it did not work at all.
I always update all my software and premiere worked fine. NO UPDATES before the incident, could it be a virus?
    OS: X 10.5.8
    Processor 2.4Ghz
    Mem 2G
    Disk space: plenty
    Thank you,
    Francis

This post is still not fixed.
After installing more RAMs it seemed that the problem was solved. Then Premiere stopped again playing media files.
I reinstalled Premiere and its updates and it works for 2 days. The third day, again, Premiere stopped playing media files.
I removed Quicktime to see if it was a problem of codex. When I tried to reinstall the new version of Quictime, the installation went fine then when I restart the computer, no Quicktime.app was visible on the computer.
I removed QT, restarted, but still QT.app still not visible via a search.
However, After I reinstalled Premiere, premiere worked for a day or two (despite not seeing QT) then stopped working again.
    I tried AfterFX, it works.
If I try to play a file with QT "using ctrl click" then open with QT, QT is not visible.
At this point, I do not know what to do, except reinstalling my computer from scratch, one program at the time to make sure I do not have any other file that is conflicting with Premiere and QT.

  • Safari is not playing media!!!

I am so confused. Out of the blue about a month ago Safari stopped playing media. It will no longer play quicktime media or any other media that it had in the past on the Apple website and any other website. I am very concerned about this because I frequently veiw media for work and this problem is preventing me from being able to do every day things that must get done!
What I have done so far is:
    1. Run all the updates.
    2. Re-install OS X.4
    3. Re-run the updates
    4. Attempted to dig around in Quicktime preferences and Safari preferences to no avail
    PLEASE HELP!!!!
    Powerbook G4   Mac OS X (10.4.3)

    Hi Cassiopia,
Have a look in Safari's prefs and see if "Enable plug-ins" under the 'Security' tab is checked. The viewing of web media is typically controlled with the use of plug-ins so this needs to be checked.
If that's not it then have a look in the folder: /Library/Internet Plug-Ins/ to see what's there. Here's a list of what's in mine for comparison:
    <pre>
    Flash Player Enabler.plugin
    Flash Player.plugin
    Java Applet Plugin Enabler
    Java Applet.plugin
    JavaPluginCocoa.bundle
    NP-PPC-Dir-Shockwave
    QuickTime Plugin.plugin
    QuickTime Plugin.webplugin
    RealPlayer Plugin
    RealPlayer Plugin.xpt
    flashplayer.xpt
    nsIQTScriptablePlugin.xpt
    </pre>
It's possible you're missing a crucial plug-in, such as the QuickTime or Flash ones, or they've gotten corrupted for some reason.

  • Problem - Playing media stops when CPU reaches 100%

    Hi,
I have a big problem, I use JMF for playing my videos and music for my video game.
But if the CPU reaches 100 % the playing media stops and if the Processor is in the state less as 100% it continues playing.
But windows media player continues playing for some seconds after reaching 100%.
Would it help to increase the Buffer with BufferControl or is this a problem for Java?

You can't really compare JMF to the windows media player because your java app is undoubtedly doing other things at the same time as it's playing your music and videos. Win media player just has to worry about playing the video/music

  • My ipod touch will not stop playing music

My ipod touch will not stop playing music. I will pause the music, leave the playlist, and after 30-60 seconds, the music starts playing again. I use my ipod when I run and when I drive (hook it up to the stereo). It is very annoying when I stop to take a phone call or listen to directions, turn off my music, and then hardly a minute into my stop, the music starts right back up again.

FUEL1996, not correct. Apple does not allow one app to control another app.

    Try:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Unsync all music and resync
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup. See:

  • IPod Touch 2nd Gen (iOS 4.2.1) stops playing certain songs but screen remains.

    iPod Touch 2nd Gen 32GB
    iOS 4.2.1
    roughly 4.89 GB free
During playback, the Touch stops playing on certain specific songs, but the screen remains as is (that is, doesn't go back to menu or black).  I suspect "bad blocks/sectors" on the memory chip, but have no way of checking.  Pressing pause and then play again doesn't help.  Skipping back to previous song and then forward doesn't help.  Skipping forward does not work (next song doesn't play).  This affects only certain very specific and recently added songs.
I've tried Reseting (erasing all content) and Restoring from backup.  Problem still occurs.
Next step is to Reset (erase all content) and setup as a new ipod.  Then reload music content.  All content is AAC at 192kbps or lower.
    Anyone have any thoughts?

If the songs play OK in iTunes on the comnputer:
    Try:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Unsync/delete all music and resync
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup. See:

  • Hi, my mac has stopped playing some avi files (that used to work). I can see the video. Does anyone know why and what i can do? My version of quicktime is 7.6.9.

Hi i have avi files saved in iphoto that i used to be able to play through quicktime. However in the last few weeks i cannot play many of these files. I can see the videos and click on them but nothing happens (i have version 7.6.9 of quicktime). Does anyone know why this has happened and what i can do about this?
    Thanks.

What do you mean by what audio/video formats are involved? These are all files from several digital cameras.
As previously stated, AVI is a file container. It is somewhat old and its originator, Microsoft, dropped official support of it over a decade ago. However, it remains popular with PC users since almost any valid audio and/or video compression format can be stuffed to the file which synchronizes the content by interleaving the individual audio and video frames. The compression format is the specific manner in which the audio and video data are encoded as it is placed in the AVI container. You can find the compression format by inspecting the file in the Finder "Info" window, or in the "Inspector" window of the QT player (or other media player) if the file can be opened.
For instance, one popular compression combination would be to place DivX encoded video and MP3 audio in an AVI file container. However, neither DivX nor MP3 is natively supported by the QT player. (Although iTunes will natively support the MP3 audio.) Therefore, people who wish to play such files in the QT 7 Player would normally install either the DivX component or Perian but not both. Either installation will independently play such files in the QT Player, but if both are installed, the file will usually stop working since these two codecs can create a playback conflict.
However, the AVI container could just as easily contain DV along with DV audio. In this case, the file should play correctly in QT since this compression format is natively supported by the basic component configuration that comes in every current OS installation. Therefore, if such files suddenly stopped playing, this could be an indication that a component has been moved or deleted or that your system or QT embedded structure has become corrupted.

  • ITunes stops playing in Album View

Not sure if I'm doing something wrong or if iTunes has always been this way, but I never noticed this in iTunes 9. In Album View, if I'm listening to an album and start looking through the rest of my library, iTunes will finish playing the song it is currently playing then stop altogether. It won't move onto the next song on the album, I haven't clicked on any other song anywhere else in the library. Can I get it to keep playing the album I originally told it to until I click play on another album or song regardless of what album I am looking at while in Album View?
    Thanks

    Hi, welcome to Apple Discussions.
This really irritating behaviour is not new. It happens whenever you use the search field or the column browser to display a subsection of the library from the same playlist that is currently playing media. If the selection no longer includes the album you were playing everything grinds to a halt at the end of the current track. Either queue the album up in iTunes DJ or having started the album playing use a different playlist to explore or edit your library.

  • Playing media error message

    Hi.
I have a bb torch 9860, and currently using v7.1 bundle 1149, I also have a 16gb memory card, and sometimes when I try to play a song (any from my playlist) it appears on screen "an error has occurred attempting to play media" and of course, song is not reproduced, then it goes for the next track and shows same error message that wont stop until I press the stop button. I have no issues accessing to videos, photos, apps or any other data stored on media card.
Already tried to pull battery off, and it temporarily works, until I go ahead any other time to play a song again and error pops up again. Any ideas of how to solve this little issue and avoid battery pull every 3 days or whenever I want to play my music?

  • IPhone randomly stops playing sound out of iPod docks?

I recently plugged my iPhone 4 iOS6.0.1 (the new update recently put out by apple) and it has stopped playing sound out of any iPod dock I plug it into.
It plays sound normally out of the speakers and charges while on the dock. Has anyone had any problems similar and any solutions?
Also I have restored my whole iPhone this morning and it still has the same problem. My husband doesn't have this problem and he has the iPhone 3.
Is this a bug with the new iOS6.0.1 and is Apple going to put out a new update anytime soon to fix it? Or do I need to send my phone away.
    Thank you.

It can't be 3 years old since the 5G iPod was first introduced in Oct 2012
    - Try cleaning out/blowing out the headphone jack. Try inserting/removing the plug a dozen times or so. There is a little switch in the headphone jack that disconnects the speaker when the headphone jack is inserted.
Try the following to rule out a software problem
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup
    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
    - Make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store. Seems you have a bad headphone jack.

  • ITunes movie has stopped playing

I've just encountered a problem. When I go to play a movie it would play and then lag after awhile. But as soon as I stopped playing and exited back to the movie listings, then went to start playing the same movie the screen would blink suddenly and nothing would happen. It wouldn't allow me to go back to the movie I was playing at all. But, the same movie would play just fine on apple tv. Has anyone experienced this or does anyone know what this is and how to fix it?

Exactly what did you install from Software Update? Your system info shows you are still using OS 10.6.1. The latest SL version is OS 10.6.2.
After the installation did you repair permissions and restarted your computer afterwards?
Make sure you have the latest versions of the following:
    Flip4Mac
    VLC Media Player
    Perian
    Adobe Flash Player Software
Again repair permissions and restart your computer after the installations.

  • Itunes stops playing on Windows 7

I have just installed the most recent Itunes 64 bit for Windows 7 (10.6.1.7)
Itunes stops playing after about 5 songs if there is nothing else running. If there is another program running, it happens after a minute.
Everything seems to work except music playback. The play/pause command can be clicked but the progress bar won't move and no audio plays.
The problem also occurs when Itunes is started in Safe Mode and also when a new library is created.
I must close and restart to hear music another 4-5 songs before the situation repeats.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Music purchased and downloaded from iTunes will not play in the Windows Media Player.
Try re downloading the album >
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
