3Gs and Nike Plus calibration question

I know that there are alot of threads that talk about the calibration issues with the Nike + and 3Gs. I too have been having a problem calibrating my running. I have been able to calibrate the walk just fine.
Here is what I have found. I can calibrate the run part of Nike + if I run at a pace of 5.6 miles per hour or faster. I am only comfortable running at about 5 miles per hour.
Here is my question. Can you only calibrate the run feature if you are going at a set pace be Nike?

I can also only calibrate walking. When I try running calibration it shows a pace of 20min/mile which is obscenely wrong. Were you able to fix this?

Well, I'm not the only one with this problem. I glad to see it does not affect you. But I'm getting tired of waiting for a fix that seems to a low priority. It's has been 4 weeks now......
The previous suggestion was not successful, since it was for the 2nd generation and an older version of I tunes.

I have a 5g and registered my iPod on my computer... Today, I purchased a nano and the nike plus for my wife.... Can she establish her account at nike plus? If she wants to use any of my songs do I have to put my seting in itunes to manual?

I have exactly the same configuration as you.
My main iPod is an 80gb 5G which I simply sync
everything on my Mac with.
I also have a 4gb Nano for running with the Nike+
I simply connected the Nano to the Mac also. You can
then configure as manual or automatic to sync.
Depends on how you want to run things. I have a
specific playlist for the Nano which I use and I
just setup the sync to only do that one playlist (or
others). Works like a dream.
Configured like this the Mac (or PC if you have one)
will sync each iPod seperately depending on the sync
rules you set. The Nano will also sync with the
Nike+ website as well but be sure to have the latest
Nano software and set your wifes Nike+ account in the
Nano preferences.

I want to make this as UNcomplicated as I can... Can I set the 2 ipods to manual and then she can create her own playlist of songs and put them into her nano?

Can you shuffle a single playlist when using iphone 3GS and nike+?

Ok...can't seem to figure this out. Been using the nano 4g with nike plus and I can set the playback mode to shuffle on the ipod... when I start a work out with nike plus and select my "running" playlist, it retains the shuffle - meaning it shuffles the songs of that single playlist.
Started using my iphone 3gs and I can't figure out how to set the playback of a SINGLE playlist to shuffle (I see the option for shuffle across ALL playlists) but I only want my "running" playlist to shuffle.
Am I missing something?

Never mind... found the answer... thanks to Matt kennedy:
Nike+ and the iPod functionality of your 3Gs are both apps which are capable of running in the background, per se. Start your iPod app, shuffle the playlist of your choice and THEN start the Nike+ app. When you get into your workout, select "now playing." This will stick with your shuffled songs.

IPhone 3GS and Nike+ Remote problems

I've been using my Nike+ Sensor and Nike+ Remote watch with the iPhone 3GS and have noted problem. (I also have an 4th Gen Nano which works flawlessly with this kit)
The fast forward and reverse buttons work to "skip" to the next song or podcast, but have lost the functionality to hold them down a FF through the song or podcast.
Anyone else have these problems?

The spoken feedback problem must be a bug. It happens to me sometimes and it can be fixed by either turning the phone off and back on or resetting it.

Bluetooth headphones and Nike Plus system at same time?

I have been using the Nike Plus system with my nano for a while now, but would like to use wireless headphones while running. Is there a bluetooth adapter that will allow for the Nike Plus receiver to be plugged in simultaneously? Or is there some kind of splitter available?

Yeah I do it. I use a Jabra bluetooth adaptor that uses the headphone port. Then I tuck the luetooth unit under my Marware Relay wristband.

I just purchased an Ipod Nano 6th gen. the manual says: Upload your steps or workout information to Nike+: 1 Connect iPod nano to your computer and open iTunes. 2 Click Send in the dialog that appears, and then follow the onscreen instructions to set up your Nike+ account. Once you set up your account, a Nike + iPod tab appears in the iTunes window. 3 Click the Nike + iPod tab, and then select “Automatically send workout data to Nike+” if it isn’t selected already. 4 Click Apply. To view and share your information on the Nike website, click Visit Nike+ in the Nike + iPod pane when iPod nano is connected to your computer, or go to www.nikeplus.com and log in to your account. i have connected it many times and have never seen this "send" prompt. what gives?

It seem’s I have the same problem. I am not able to see the data collected on my Nano 6th on the nikeplus website (no graph, nothing).

3GS and Nike+ Sportband

Does anyone know if the Nike+ Sportband can be linked to the 3GS as a remote? I have been using the sensor for a while and wanted to be able to control the Nike app and access stats without having to use the phone but cannot get the band to link. I'm not sure if I have a dodgy Sportband or if it is simply designed to be used independently from the phone.

There's no way it will act as a remote. It doesn't have the necessary hardware to do that so it won't talk to your 3gs. You need to get the nike watchremote for that

Nike+ (Nike Plus) calibration issues...

I have a Nike+ which I've synced with my iPhone. I've tried to calibrate it several times but each time it grossly under-reports my distance.
For example, I run 400 meters (0.25 miles) and it reports that I've only run 0.02 miles. When I end my workout it simply says "this workout cannot be used to calibrate your Nike+". I've run and walked distances up to a mile (while it estimates that I've only run 0.15 miles) and always it says "this workout cannot be used for calibration".
I bought my wife a Nike+ sensor and I got the same results when I tried using her unit.
What's going on here? I have the sensor in a velcro pocket attached to my shoelaces. Any suggestions or advice would be appreciated.

I have had the exact same issue since I went from the 3.0 to the 3.1.1 and 3.1.2 OS on my 2G iTouch. I have tried in vain to down grade to the 3.0 but when I did the upgrade via iTunes it does not save the earlier versions (that I can find in my /library/application support/. I found some 'old' update flies on the internet that did not work. I tried both my iTouch (3.1.2) and my wife's (3.1.1) and both allowed me to run, but at the end of the run, I could only calibrate the run to a distance equal to or less then the actual distance run based on the nike+ estimate (so my 6.5 mi run was only registered up to 3.5 mi that the software thought I ran). My sensor has been fine or ~ 650 miles and went funny once I updated past OS v 3.0. I hope Apple or Nike read these forums and fix it in the next update because I really love the nike+ app and now feel it is hit or miss as far has how it records the run. After over 600 mi I really found it a great way to track my runs and keep me motivated!

IPhone 3G and Nike Plus

First time poster, and only in the last year slowly being converted from PC to mac, so bear with me - i'm still geting to grips with everything.
I was in the gym over lunch and a colleague had a Nike+ thing added into their iphone - I thought it was a good idea, and the guy said it was a bit more motivating than just listening to music. As such, i'm planning on buying one.
Just out of wonder, I didn't have time to ask the other person, and can't seem to find anything with the 'search' option on these forums, it just keeps brining iPhone 3GS results - does it work okay with the iphone 3G or do I need to download an app?

Bit disappointing to hear this, I don't really fancy parting with several hundred pounds on a new phone, looks like I'll see if I can find a cheap ipod touch as someone told me today it works with those? (surely that would be classed as a downgrade though and not the 'real' way in computing?)

IPhone 3GS and Nike+

For some reason, I can't get the Nike + app to show up on my iPhone. I go into settings and turn Nike + iPod on but the app doesn't show up in the list. The only way I can get it to show up is to restore the iPhone without restoring the phone from a backup. As soon as I restore the phone from backup, the app won't show up anymore. How do I get the app to come back?

I haven't heard of this particular issue before, but something you can try is turning the integration off, restarting the phone, then turing integration back on, and restarting the phone again. If it's still not showing up, looks like restoring the phone as new may be the only solution I can give. Perhaps you may want to go into Settings > General > Reset and reset all settings as a pre-restore attempt. Good luck!

Problem syncing between Itunes and nike plus today, June 3rd?

I normally have no trouble syncing runs between itunes and nikeplus. However, today for some reason, Itunes cannot connect with Nikeplus. I had installed the Itunes update (so now am running itunes 8), and am wondering if this could be the problem?
Has anyone else experienced this today?

Yet again, the same problem here. My Nike+ update has always worked flawlessly. However, I just updated to v8.2 and this was my first upload attempt since updating. Now it no longer works. It just produces this generic error message:
"iTunes could not connect to nikeplus.com. An unknown error occurred (-50). Make sure your network connection is active and try again."
This just looks like a generic error if there is no internet connection. However, the internet connection is fine, and I can login through my browser to nikeplus.com without any issues. It's only when attempting to upload my Nike+ data through iTunes that it doesn't work. And it all happened on my first upload attempt after updating to iTunes v8.2.

Polygonal Lasso and Nik Software -2 questions

When using the ploygonal lasso in CC I find I cannot complete a selection without the lasso completing itself accross the proposed selection area.Did not experience this with CS6 -Have I got a setting wrong?
Also how do I load in my plug ins particularly Nik software?

You need to get updated plug-ins from the vendors. Just using older versions can be all sorts of messy and even cause crashes. Your lasso issue may be another matter, but without system info or some idea about what files you are working on nobody can't realyl tell you much. This could simply be an hardware acceleration issue when the tool try to detect auto-pan scenarios and a delay closing the selection or something like that. As a minor, check your prefs for that and update your graphics driver if possible.

Best way to organise photos on iphone and mac plus transferring question

sorry if this has been asked before. However what is the best way to set up photos i have taken on my iphone 4 on my iphone. At the moment all photos are in camera roll. Is it possible to set up different photo albums on my iphone?
Also whats best way to keep the photos on my iphone and also transfer photos on my macbook pro to my iphone. As itunes only gives me a sync option and I believe that only puts certain photos from iphoto to my iphone and may replace photos that are on my iphone already. Also how to transfer photos on my macbook to my iphone. I am sorry if this is such a silly question. But hope someone can help and explain this to me.

You need to import the photos in your camera roll to iPhoto. Treat the camera roll just like you'd treat any digital camera...temporary storage only. You cannot organize photos in the camera roll. Once in iPhoto, you can create various albums, copy whatever photos you want on your phone to these various albums, then select what albums/events you want to sync back to your phone in iTunes.

IPhone and Nike Plus sport kit

I was under the impression NEW iPhone would work nike sport kit. I stopped the AT&T store they did not have a clue. (the APPLE store was too far away).
There several apps that seem to function very similar to the nike Sport kit. Any ideal which is the best or NIKE will be make an app for iphone

The last word from Apple PR in the news was that the Nike+ Sports Kit was only compatible with the 2nd Generation iPod touch and all the iPod nanos. There's no word on iPhone 3G support, and it looks quite unlikely, since even though the iPod touch has essentially the same software as the iPhone 3G, the iPod touch has that Nike+ adaptor built-in, while the iPhone 3G does not, not even in newly-manufactured models after that announcement.
If you must have the nike+, I recommend the iPod nano. It's smaller, has longer battery life, and it's the cheapest iPod with nike+ support. If you're patient, you may wait and see if the next iPhone has Nike+ built-in, or if the current model will support it.
If you want to use the apps on the app store, I can't say I've tried them, so just read the reviews. I feel as if they are a bit gimmicky, but that's my opinion, and I've never bought one yet, so don't take my word.
