3GS battery case recommendations

I am looking for a case that has a built in battery for a 3GS. Something similar to the mophie case, but includes the apple connector. I don't really want to mess with multiple connectors and etc. I have had bad issues with 1 iPhones in the past year. They were bought on eBay and were in decent shape. First was ourchased last September and arrived with a random battery dyiny, and taking a while to come back on. Battery was replaced in October and lasted until early May. The battery ended up swelling and may have damaged the board since the camera did not work, nor did cleaning contact, or new camera. New phone was bought in early july and is working fine, but I would like to have a portable battery or a case with a battery. I have found some items that would be perfect, but not sure of the sites they are on. Thanks for any help.
Products,

Got the same problem. My MBP is 2 years old and the battery exploded, literally, while working. My dealer told me there is no warranty and I just saw that Apple stopped the free exchange of the bad manufactured batteries. I will have to buy a new battery for app. 135€ / $192.
My computer was 2700 € / $3840
It's a shame!

My iphone 3GS battery exploded, and made the whole phone bloated.  I contact my local apple support and they said it is a normal case when battery is used for more than one year.  Where else can I can some reasonable explanations and solution from apple about my phone.  My phone cannot be used, and I have lost alot of valuable data and photos.  Can I recover them?  What can I do now?

If you've been using your phone as recommended, you've been syncing your data to your computer frequently, and importing any photos taken by the iPhone to your computer (or using photostream).  If you  havent' been doing this, then you've no one to blame for any data loss and any phone, which can be damaged, dropped, stolen or otherwixe become inoperable was NEVER meant to be a storage device.
As far as your battery is concern, is is NOT normal for the battery to "explode" after a year.  Contact an authorized Apple service provider or Apple itself to see what your replacement options are.

  • New Trent IMP130 Slim-Fit Extended Rechargeable Battery Case

I bought a New Trent 130 Battery Case for my 3GS a few days ago from Amazon and I strongly recommend it to anybody who is looking to extend the length of time between recharges. It's a superb piece of kit at £19.99 plus £2,99 and an absolute bargain. Check out all the reviews on the Amazon web site and see for yourselves.

better to read the buyer's reviews first before ordering the case you will exactly know if to buy it or not.

  • Use of external battery cases, does it harm the iphone's internal battery?

Can the use of external battery cases harm the life of the internal battery in the iphone 4? (ie. Mophie juice pack air)

Absolutely not, but if looking for a protective case i would not recommend the mophie but if just using your phone for commercial use, then yes definitely use, it's helpful when you need a cordless charger

  • Thinest Battery case for iPhone 4

Been thinking about actualy getting one...There has been a lot of high quality RPG Games that came out for the iPhone lately and i find my self killing my iPhone 4 in just half the day...
Ive seen Morphi and MiLi...their Ok but a bit to bulky..
I remember seeing something realy thin online a month ago...
    Anyone has recomendations?

I've never heard of QYG Power, but they seem to make a bunch of products like that.
Who knows? The only way to know is to buy one and see how it goes, since google did not find any reviews of it to turn to. For the price, it might be great, and at worst, it's not a fortune lost if it doesn't live up to what you'd like it to.
From my experience with other 1300mAh rated battery cases and my 3Gs, it should give you likely about 1.6x-1.8x or therabouts the battery run time of your iPhone alone. You would have to experiment, but I found I got the most out of the battery if I put the phone in it fully charged, let it run off the external pack until that was exhausted and then run it on the internal iPhone battery.
If I ran the iPhone down to 5%-10% battery and then popped it into the battery case, the 1300mAh external battery would be unable to fully charge the iPhone (when new, it would get it close, back up to 85%-95%), so I seemed to get my maximum total useable time by running a charged iPhone on the external first, then let the phone continue on it's own battery once the external was out.
P.S. like any Li battery, don't let the external sit idle for weeks or months at a time, or it will degrade rapidly. Just like you iPhone's battery, it will do best if used periodically, and partial cycles should not be a problem with any Li battery.

  • My iphone 3gs battery drains very fast

my iphone 3gs battery drains very fast it won't last for whole day
i just uses mail application and  facebook for some time
can u tell why the problem is or need to change battery

I'm having the same problem with my 3Gs.  In my case it is not the apps int he background or the brightness, or wifi or email push.  The folks at the apple stroe tell me that there is some software glitch that shows up every few months.
I can only get rid of it by restoring my phone as a new device.  In which case I lose all of my contacts, settings and all data.  VERY frustrating. I had recived two new phones (before applecare ran out) and have done the resotre several times.  No one can tell me what is in that creates this probelm.  I've tried differenet chargers one by one in case they are the probelm.  one int he car, one in a kitchen outlet, one at my home computer (sync) and on at my office computer (non-sync).
Problem just showed up again randomly two days ago,  no new apps or hardware.  battery drains from full to 0 in two hours.
    Apple, please fix.

  • Why are there no iPhone 6 battery cases with a lightning input port for charging instead of a micro USB?

Why are there no iPhone 6 battery cases with a lightning input port for charging instead of a micro USB?
Does it have something to do with the MFI certification? Is micro USB just cheaper?
I don't want to have to carry around another cable and it seems like this would be a good product. What am I missing?

    Valid point.
So can I ask why there are no MFI certified lightning female ports on battery cases? Or more so, does this certification even exist?
    And why not?
This is a user-to-user technical support forum. There is no one here from Apple to answer "why". Again, I would recommend contacting the manufacturers or use the Contact Us link at the bottom right of every page for information on how to contact Apple directly.
I suspect that manufacturers may view the more standard microUSB charging port as a selling point. Those types of cables are cheaper and ubiquitous.

  • Extended battery case

What is the best iphone 5 extended battery case?  I had the mophie for the 4 but was hoping to find one that utilized the lighting connector.  Would love to hear people thoughts and recommendations on this.  Thanks alot!

mophie makes a couple for the iphone5 - i have the mophie air - works fine but a little hard to get the phone out of the case since syncing doesnt work with the case (only charging - according to Mophie) - it uses the lightning connector- there are lots of others
ivyskin makes a case for the iphone5 with a detachable battery - so you only have the extra weight when you have the battery attached - it also has a buitin screen protector
    www.ivyskin.com
i had one for my 4S - pretty good case but the company has lousy customer service
a company called Third Rail Mobility (www.thirdrailmobility) has a similar case for the 4S and is workin on one for the iPhone 5 but i dont think its available yet
Also a search in Amazon for iphone 5 battery cases will show lots of others

  • Need Charging Case Recommendation

I will be heading to NYC in late April for the NFL Draft and I am going to need a case for my Verizon iPhone5 that charges the phone at the same time. I will be standing in line for most of the night before the draft and then I want to make sure my phone doesn't die while I am walking around NYC with my friends prior to the draft.
So my question is, #1) are there any charging cases for iPhone 5 and #2) which is the best/Which would you recommend?

Mophie just announced a couple of models - they have a good reputation
I have something called an iContact which you can find on Amazon - has the largest battery ive seen (2500 mah)
also the company is incredible about customer service - my 1st one didnt work so they sent me another - after a couple of weeks there were problems with the 2nd one so they replaced it (and didnt require me to send the defective case abck) - and gave me a $10 credit - they also responded to emails at night and on weekends
the one i have now is workking perfectly
Also if you search iphone 5 battery cases on Amazon you will find a bunch

  • 3GS Battery Issues

Looking for input from others on their experience with the 3GS battery. Have heard mixed things from good to bad.
I think that my particular unit is questionable. I compare it to my wife's 3G and find a discrepancy in performance. Mainly in reference to standby
For example: My phone requires a minimum 50% charge to make it through the night and still be on in the morning. My wife's, however, will go on standby with a 20% charge and still have 10% left in the morning. Obviously, this is a precision test...but you can see the obvious disparity.
It takes the phone about 4 hours to charge completely, which I believe is probably standard.
I am wondering if there is a standby feature that is not enabled or something. With minimal use the phone will last for about 10 hours before shutting down. Heavy use will see about 5-6.
I guess It just seems that it should stand by for a longer period, and I'm getting this from comparing it to the 3G.
Let me know what you are getting out of the unit.

Ok, so the link is helpful and I'll take note of battery life with new settings, including:
    Wifi off
    Push off
    Email check hourly
    and Location Services off
Also helpful to know that you are looking at a charge cycle every few days. This has never been the case for me, and is what I am expecting to see with these changes. If battery issues persist, I suppose I'll take it in.
I'd still like to hear input from a few other people on this matter. Would be greatly appreciated

  • Hi,  I would like to ask you a question. a month ago I bought a battery case for iPhone 5 and it worked properly until I installed iOS 7. From that day iphone is operating normally, but when the battery is empty, unfortunately I can not charge additionall

    Hi,
I would like to ask you a question.
a month ago I bought a battery case for iPhone 5 and it worked properly until I installed iOS 7. From that day my iphone is operating normally, BUT when the battery is empty, unfortunately I can not charge additionally my iphone with the "extra battery case".
Does that mean that you did not even create a new software that supports additional battery case or it is something else?
    I need your help!!,
    Thank you in advance.
    Sincerely,
    VK

The Mophie Air is a good battery case, but doesn't offer the protection she's looking for. I suggest sticking to the Lifeproof, the iPhone has a very good battery (2-3 days moderate usage for me).
To your 2nd to last paragraph, that is false. Verizon is allowing exisiting customers to keep Unlimited Data - but will lose it once they use a subsidized upgrade. So if you buy a 4S (or LTE device for example) outright, you will keep unlimited data. Mobile hotspot may use up a bit of data, but it is a separate add-on/feature. The new Family Share plans may change that, so it's one giant center of data all devices use.

  • I purchased a Mota Battery case and protection for my iPhone 4s,  will I encounter any problems with this new device?

I currently have an iPhone 4s with an otterbox cover which provides excellent protection for my iPhone.  I am an electrician and the environment my phone can be exposed to at times can be hostile at times.  Do you know of and Otterbox which would accommodate your product purchased by me with Package ID 6629239.  I still have product in box and am curious as to what type of protection I can receive for my phone.  Any suggestions.  Have you teamed up with otttebox to make a cover which would be compatible to the current cover being sold by them?
    Thank you,
    Tom Quesada
This is the email I sent them concerning the case, my question applies  to you all as well.  Another question I had was concerning the battery and any interference it may have with any apps or actions taken by using my iPhone.  Any suggestions or past experiences would be appreciated.
    Thank you,
    Tom Quesda

    Hopefully you contacted Otterbox directly.
Take a look at Mophie devices as well, they provide some nice battery cases for iPhones (and other devices) and have a line that provides similar protection to Ottterboxes.

  • Has anyone used this 3000mAh battery case?

    Hey guys, check this out.
I love my iPhone4 and compared with other phones Apple did a great job with battery life, but I'm a traveler and sometimes I take long runs without getting a chance to charge the phone. Looking into buying this battery case here: http://www.mugen-power-batteries.com/apple/iphone-4/mugen-power-3000mah-battery- case-for-apple-iphone4.html
Has anyone dealt with these guys before? I asked them questions on their Facebook, they seem legit.

    They have a 1500mAh case as well for 79$ http://www.mugen-power-batteries.com/mugen-power-1500mah-battery-case-for-apple- iphone4-brown.html
The reason I want to go with Mugen is that they are present as a brand. I'm a little picky and if I get a bad case I'd want a replacement. In that case I can ask them on facebook about it or write to support.
Can you let me know any other case makers? I don't want to buy from ebay

  • My iphone 3gs battery wasnt good so I replaced it and now it says "No Service", why?

I can get it to work now but then when i hit the power button it shuts off and if i tap the back of the phone the screen comes back on but then goes different colors again what could that be??

  • My iPhone 3GS battery loses at least 30% charge when off for at least an hour

My iPhone 3GS battery loses at least 30% charge when off for at least an hour, I took it in to an apple retail store at the end of 2010 and they told me it was fine but advised I restore and set up as a new iPhone which I did, it got better for about a month then went back to normal losing battery. I have no hardware coverage left and my specs are: iPhone 3GS 16gb  IOS 4.3.3 white. I have had it since December 2009.

I'm afraid I don't. I don't know if the phone is still within warranty. I don't know which country you are in. I don't know what third party repair companies charge where you are.
Hang on - I do know one thing: if your phone is still covered by warranty - it's free!
