3gs battery went down then went back up by a lot?!?!

So I have a bout a 3 hour usage with on and off ipod and 3g usage. About 5 hours of stand by. Phone was about 18% battery left for a total of about 5-6 hours of it being last charged, and the phone jumped to 25% battery life than to 50% out of nowhere. Has this happened to anyone before? This is pretty weird I think. I'm happy I got more battery but is it a glitch or hardware error? THX.

I use Firefox to access the internet-but when I go off the internet but don't shut down, then go back on Firefox it won't open because "it is already running". Task Manager doesn't show that it is operating so I can't shut it off. What to do?

It is in the question but to repeat.
1. When I go online I use Mozilla Firefox
2. While I am doing other work, I usually close the internet.
3. If I go back on the internet and click on Mozilla it won't come up, stating that "it is already running".
4. Despite that, when I open Task Manager, it doesn't show that it is running so I can't shut it down or open it.
5. If I log off or shut off the computer, then after I log in or reboot the computer, I can open Mozilla.

Calibrate battery went straight to shut down and not sleep

I let my computer run all the way down. The warning came up. When I went back a few minutes later, I am assuming the computer was shut down on it's own. There was no pulsing light in front. According to the kbase, I thought it was suppose to goto sleep first..

So, I decided to test this once again.
Tonight, I let me computer run on battery until the warning message came up. It went to sleep, the light pulsed on front for about 5 seconds. Then it stopped and the computer seemed to shut down.
I thought it was suppose to still sleep for awhile.....and not shut down.

My battery went dead and I had to plug it in. after several hours I went back to it and it is has an icon that is saying plug in and itunes. It won't do anything else- nothing. I can't turn it off or or on and I have no access to my phone.

As a Test:
Hold down the option (or alt) key and launch iPhoto. From the resulting menu select 'Create Library'
Import a few pics into this new, blank library. Is the Problem repeated there?

At 3 I click this morning I woke up to find my phone was baking hot, and was at 100%. No worries, I just unplugged it and went back to sleep. When I've woken up, 3 hours later, all my battery has gone. It did this yesterday also. Was charged all night.

Sounds like you have corrupt backup data, if this occurs from one phone to another. Try restoring the phone as a new device, without a backup. Try using for a day before installing any other apps, etc. See if that improves the battery life. Then try syncing back applications a couple at a time. Something seems to be locking in the processor which is draining the battery.
Do you live in an area where there are Apple Stores? If so, try making an appointment with the Genius Bar to have the device checked out.

This is sometimes caused by a problem with the iTunesPrefs.xml file, normally found at C:\Users\<User>\AppData\Local\Apple Computer\iTunes\iTunesPrefs.xml. Try dragging this to the desktop and trying again.
Alternatively the problem may be that you have McAfee AV and it is preventing iTunes from updating the same file and thus causing the problem. See Why does iTunes delete my itunesprefs.xml? for details.

Have your husband text the word "stop" to 48369. This should take his number out of the iMessage system.
Go into your settings under messaging and make sure the box to send as an SMS if iMessage is unavailable is checked.
Hopefully this will get your messages sending/receiving to each other.

Deleted them from where? The photos in your albums are not the actual photos in your library. So if you deleted the photos from the Photos section of iPhoto, then you have deleted them period. All of the photos in your Albums are just "pointing" to the original photos. Albums are just a way of organizing your photos, but they are not copies of them.
Did you delete them from the Photos in iPhoto?

Go to the App Store and check out the Purchases List. If iPhoto is there then it will be v9.6.1
If it is there, then drag your existing iPhoto app (not the library, just the app) to the trash
Install the App from the App Store.
Sometimes iPhoto is not visible on the Purchases List. it may be hidden. See this article for details on how to unhide it.

One question often asked: Will I lose my Photos if I reinstall?
iPhoto the application and the iPhoto Library are two different parts of the iPhoto programme. So, reinstalling the app should not affect the Library. BUT you should always have a back up before doing this kind of work. Always.

Tried to open but was told to: Update Flash Player. Clicked on: Update Flash Player, then went back to open and got the same message to update Flash Player. Did I get malware from Flash Player??
