3gs Connectivity issue 4.1.2 bug?

So, here is the issue I'm having. The connection to the 3G network is splotchy. It come and goes. It often drops calls, and says it "can not activate cellular data". Sometimes, it won't even connect to 3G, constantly says "searching" or "no service". When I turn off 3G I get a full connection to the EDGE network.
I took my phone to AT&T and they replaced the sim card. Symptoms still not resolved. Went the local apple store and they suggested to restore the phone as a new phone. Completed that process. This appeared to fix the problem for 2 days and now here I sit with an EDGE networked iPhone. ANY SUGGESTIONS?

No, it's not a 4.2.1 bug. If it were you would see many thousands of reports of the problem. The most likely cause is AT&T network problems. You can try Reset Network Settings or Reset All Settings in the Settings/General/Reset app. If you still have a problem Erase all content and Settings, then restore as a new phone. Do not reload a backup or install any apps until you are sure it is working.

I've got a Macbook Pro 15"... Just got my 3GS today... But for the life of me cannot seem to get the 3GS connected to my MBP over Bluetooth... Both the MBP and the 3GS have BT turned on, and both "discoverable"... Done the pairing with the code provided by the MBP, and entered into the 3GS... But that's it... the iPhone shows up in the devices under Bluetooth Preferences, but just can't "connect"... --if you are trying to use the iphone as a modem for your macbookpro:
currently at&t doesnt support using he iphone for tethering... they say they will later ... no real details about limits and prices but you can bet they will be low and high respectively.
--if you are trying to sync the iphone with itunes over bluetooth:
that profile doesnt exist yet and or itunes doesnt support it yet from what i can find... gonna have to stick with the usb cable... which is faster than bluetooth anyway

Dear Lenovo Support and all others,
I am posting this in hope that someone can help with my problem and also to share my unpleasant experience with a new Lenovo product.
Lenovo Thinkpad X1 Carbon
Model: 20A8A00VSG
OS: Windows 7 Pro 64bit
Purchase date: 27th February 2014
Since the first day I purchased the system, I have been having an issue with my wireless connection:
1. I am unable to reliably get a wireless connection to wireless access points (e.g. free wifi coffee outlets or malls) and personal mobile hotspots (mobile phone hotspots). It constantly says "LIMITED CONNECTIVITY". In other words, I cannot get internet access. Even when it does connect to the network and get internet access, there is a tendency for the connection to drop back to "LIMITED CONNECTIVITY".
The only time I can get a reliable connection is when I am connected to my home wireless router. The system does not seem to have problems on home wifi networks. Since the problem seems limited to wireless access points and hotspots, I believe its a hardware/software problem.
Please note that I have other wireless devices (laptops and mobile phones) that can connect to the same networks that I am trying to connect to and have no issues.
I have tested the networks with my friends' wireless devices as well and they have no issues accessing the internet so I am fairly certain that there is no issue with the networks themselves.
2. I have already called in twice and been given advice on both occasions but the problem still persist. I have updated all drivers, uninstalled and reinstalled and updated the BIOS for the system and also performed a system recovery but nothing has worked so far.
I have also tried disabling and/or deleting any anti-virus software and firewalls but it does not fix the problem.
I have also been advised that I need to go down to the Lenovo service center to have my laptop checked out by the technicians and that there MIGHT be a firmware upgrade for the wireless card itself.
NOTE: MIGHT? The support staff doesn't even know for sure whether there is an upgrade available.
3. Rebooting my computer, the wireless card or the hotspots does not solve the problem. It might work for a shortwhile before it reverts back to it's non working state or stops working again once I reboot the system.
I am really unhappy with the purchase so far. It's actually a good laptop per se when all is working, but without internet access, it is pretty much like a dead fish. And thats 90% of the time.
Like I said, this problem has been happening since day one and I've tolerated it long enough.
I hope someone can help me with this problem.

I borrowed an ASUS Wireless USB adapter from a friend and installed it on the laptop. Lo and behold there are no connectivity issues to my iPhone wireless hotspot.

there is an issue bugged driver or even card firmware related. Intel confirmed that. Wait some time for the new release.
For the test purpose only disable 2,4 ghz band support and switch to 5 ghz. N-band seems unstable so switch to G-band. As the Linux users report the same issue it's firmware bug basically.

Ipad 3 WiFi connectivity issues

All right.. this might be a two part problem. I was attempting to enable restrictions, and after I entered the passcode twice and tapped "Enable restrictions," it asked me to enter a new passcode again. Without doing much checking, I decided to resort to "Reset All Settings." After doing this, I'm unable to connect to any WiFi networks. I did this while at my in-laws house, and thought perhaps it was something flukey with their router.. however, after returning home, I ran into the same issue.
When I attempt to connect, I get "Incorrect password for "<my network>", and it says "Failed to join "<my network>" at the top of the password entry box. I have two sons with iPads, and I was able to disconnect and reconnect to the wireless network with no issue on theirs. I set up a secure guest network, and was able to log in with my sons' iPads, but not mine. Same issue.. I enter the password, and it comes back with "Incorrect password..."
When I set up an unsecure network, I'm able to join.and use as normal. There must be a settings issue that I'm overlooking somewhere, but I can't seem to find it or figure out how to find it while I search the wasteland of Google search results. Any help would be most appreciated.

Some things to try first:
1. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
2. Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.
3. Change the channel on your wireless router (Auto or Channel 6 is best). Instructions at http://macintoshhowto.com/advanced/how-to-get-a-good-range-on-your-wireless-netw ork.html
4. Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.
5. Renew IP Address: (especially if you are droping internet connection)

    •    In the window that opens, tap on the Renew Lease button

I'm sorry to read that you are having issues with your Sync account.
Your best bet is to follow the steps described in this blogposts and open a bug:

After that, if you don't want to user Sync in your computer, you can stop it with this simple steps:
* At the top of the Firefox window, click on the Firefox button (Tools menu in Windows XP) and then click Options.

* At the bottom of the Sync tab click on '''Deactivate this Device''' link

"Safari can't find the server" - connection issues under Lion

Hi there,
Since upgrading to Lion, Safari has been displaying this odd and annoying behaviour, where, for some links to some web resources (like maybe 2 clicked links out of 10), it throws up a grey error page telling me it can't find the server (screenshot below):
Normally, this error would be evidience of an intenet connection issue (but it isn't). If I immediately try to find the same resource via another browser (Firefox or Chrome), those other browsers navigate to the site absolutely fine. Although, occasionally (though with less frequency) I'm also getting a similar "Can't find stuff" error with Chrome too.
In the Safari address bar (is this significant?) there isn't even a URL, but a file path to file:///Applications/Safari.app/Contents/Resources... what does that mean?
Hints from other threads would indicate that this is a Firewall issue, or maybe there's another third-party app causing problem, rather than a problem with Safari under Lion specifically.
But I'm really bugged and irrittate by this. Anyone had a similar experience? Anyone with any ideas? How might I go about finding out what's causing this and fixing it?

It's most likely a problem with corrupted files in the Safari Cache or corrupted cookies.
Go to Safari menu bar
Click on Safari
Click "Empty Cache"
Restart Safari
If the problem persists...
Go to Safari -> Preferences
Go to privacy
Click "Remove All Website Data"

N8 Connectivity issues post Anna

I was wondering if anyone was having connectivity issues with your N8 after Anna has been installed. Ive dont the simple things with the settings in the search options. I seem to still have issues getting a connection unless there is a 100% full signal. Anything less, the phone just hangs. Sometimes for 60-80 seconds before a webpage is loaded. Is this a bug within Anna?

Have not tried with Direct Ethernet connection, but after restarting my iMac a couple times it strangely worked. Updating software now, well still downloading @ this point. Thought it was possibly the security type I was using, but I ended up back to WPA2 personal that I had originally started with. It was not even seeing my WiFi before, so I never even had a chance to enter a password. Also using an older AirPort Extreme. May be time for some updated equipment, but at the same time it has made it this far.

Does the recent Airport update help connectivity issues?

I always have issues with my D-link router, which I haven't been able to test since the update. Are people still having connectivity issues and dropped signals since updating?

Usually a update is released to fix and improve functionality. This time a lot of users reported the update caused bugs and even connection problems. If you're already in troubles you can install it and see if it fix your issue.
Consider that your router could be faulty. I replaced mine with a US Robotics after having used my old d-link for 2 years.

I have issues keeping a connection to my home network. No, I don't have an airport router (just in case that comes up). My iPad connects, but loses signal strength, even though I'm only a few feet away from the router, and sometimes just disconnects altogether. I'm wondering if anyone knows of a fix yet. I noticed there are quite a few users having similar troubles, but haven't seen anyone actually ask or receive concrete feedback regarding a fix.

Connectivity issues after 8.1.1 update please help! :(

Hi all. Here's the situation.
I got my Iphone 6 on release day.
Not had one single problem with it.
On Monday however I do a general software update to IOS 8.1.1
Now ever since then I cannot keep a steady connection to both WIFI AND my roaming internet.
BOTH show as connected however load EXTREMELY slowly or not at all. No matter where I am.
I have done a soft reset.
Switching on and off.
And resetting Network Settings.
Done all these 3 or 4 times and they are not helping.
It is too coincidental to not be because of the software update.
Can someone please help me?

Still no help for you? I updated my iPhone 6 to 8.1.1 this past weekend and now have huge connectivity issues too. My home WiFi signal is 5 bars but runs very slow for example Facebook, the phone cannot update messages or photos. Try to connect for online banking, forget it. I have turned off WIFI and try using my Verizon signal which is 3 out if 5 bars, same problem. Don't understand why Apple cannot fix this apparent bug. Will call Apple Care in a few minutes and let you know what they say.

4S Verizon Network / Internet Connectivity Issues?

I have been having problems with what appears to be Verizon Network/Internet Connectivity issues. I am located in northern Colorado, using an iPhone 4S with a Mophie Air battery backup/case.
I am in a solid 4G area (even though the phone is 3G) and I have not had any problems with any connection issues, until last night. I still see three bars of 3G service on the phone indicator area...so it is decieving.
I can still recieve emails, text messages, and phone calls, but nothing that uses the internet will work. All apps seem to try to open and try to update, but the whizzy-wheel indicator just sits and spins until I get a "Network Error" message or a time out error of some kind. Most error pop-ups are saying to check the internet settings and try again. Ugh!
Also, since it seems to be trying to recognize the network all the time (even when all tasks are killed and nothing should be running), my battery is going down MUCH faster today! I took it off of the charger at 7am and it was down to 20% battery in only 4 hours! Then I turned on the battery backup, and it is quickly using that up too! At this rate my phone will be completely DEAD by the time I leave work today, and I haven't even used it for anything all day (except to try to connect to the web a few times - testing)!
I have tried the following so far to try to regain internet through the Verizon network, to no avail:
checked for software updates...phone was up to date with iOS 6.0.1
checked my firmware version (it is 3.0.04)
killed all background/running apps (with the home button double-click/hold icon/end)
"reset" my phone via a couple of methods (both the regular power off option and the force-power off option).
*228, option 2 (to reset Roaming)
cleared all data cache areas/cookies/etc.
Cellular data is set to "On"; Roaming is set to "On" for all options;
I have a 64GB device (57.3 usable capacity) of which I still show 46.2 available.
WiFi is set to "Off" (although I can use WiFi at home with no problem if I need to, but I shouldn't have to!)
Airplane Mode is set to "Off"; Restrictions are set to "Off"; Bluetooth is set to "Off"
Basically, there is NO REASON my phone should be having connection issues!

I tried everything you did and more, i thought i had it working, but i got a voicemail today and when i went to open it earlier it just has the wheel loading forever and then says it cant onnect to voicemail. the searching does make it wear down the battery faster as well. i can get calls, texts etc, but i cant help but think there are a few bugs with the ios 6.01 software

Note - When troubleshooting wifi connection problems, don't hold your iPad by hand. There have been a few reports that holding the iPad by hand, seems to attenuate the wifi signal.
Some Wi-Fi losses may stem from a problematic interaction between Wi-Fi and cellular data connections. Numerous users have found that turning off Cellular Data in Settings gets their Wi-Fi working again.
You may have many apps open which can possibly cause the slowdown and possibly the loss of wifi. In iOS 4-6 double tap your Home button & at the bottom of the screen you will see the icons of all open apps. Close those you are not using by pressing on an icon until all icons wiggle - then tap the minus sign. For iOS 7 users, there’s an easy way to see which apps are open in order to close them. By double-tapping the home button on your iPhone or iPad, the new multitasking feature in iOS 7 shows full page previews of all your open apps. Simply scroll horizontally to see all your apps, and close the apps with a simple flick towards the top of the screen.

My iPad2(Wifi-16Gb) unable to connect to home wifi network after upgraded to iOS6. The said network is a remembered network and never face this connection issue before iOS6.

Forget and reconnect the netwrok doean't solve the problem.
Even Network Reset recommended in others iPad user in the forum can't help as well.
Please advice. Thanks.

Some things to try first:
1. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
2. Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.
3. Change the channel on your wireless router (Auto or Channel 6 is best). Instructions at http://macintoshhowto.com/advanced/how-to-get-a-good-range-on-your-wireless-netw ork.html
4. Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.
5. Renew IP Address: (especially if you are droping internet connection)
    •    Launch Settings app
    •    Tap on Wi-Fi
    •    Tap on the blue arrow of the Wi-Fi network that you connect to from the list
    •    In the window that opens, tap on the Renew Lease button

Connectivity issue resolved

All of a sudden I had a connectivity issue with my Zen Sleek Photo -- no recognition with docking, I tried all the solutions on support to no avail, including system restore as a last result. Deleted and reinstalled the solftware (CD included with Zen) ran cleanup and reboot. Read FuturePilot thread about bugs with WMP --I downloaded it from the Creative site. I deleted WMP, with rollback to WMP0, then upgade to WMP from the web, not from Creative site and connectivity issue was resolved. My computer now recognizes my player. I was so upset I ordered another player, thinking it was a hardri've problem. I will probably return it (Vision M 60gb) as it is very expensi've. I hope this helps other users with connectivity problems.

If the same with every wi-fi network your iPhone has access to and connects with and there is no change after resetting network settings on the iPhone and/or after restoring the iPhone with iTunes as a new iPhone or not from the backup, the iPhone has a hardware problem. The iPhone includes a one year warranty.
