3Gs not playing movies properly - help !

I have recently tried playing movies on my new iphone 3gs and now some movies have big green blobs flashing up all over the screen,all these movies played on my last iphone without a problem.
P.s. these are mp4's

You need to download Videora (free) and reprocess the mp4 files with 3GS as the selected output format. It's not all that user friendly (IMHO) but will do batch processing.
The 3GS video electronics is new -- and different than earlier models.

Imovie not playing movies smoothly, help?

I am relatively new to mac and am not sure how to troubleshoot this problem. I created an imovie and it looked great, now the transitions are not smooth or clear and many of the photos in the movie to which I have applied the ken burns effect hesitate as the movie plays. Livetype not playing movie properly

I am using Livetype when I place a movie in background I want some text to appear which is in synchronization with the person speaking and these are a group of 2-3 words which has to appear I have to do such things in majority of my clips.
Exporting a livetype clip to FCP then positioning it correctly on time line rendering then again adjusting time in livetype and then repeated the the above step is too time consuming is there a shorter way or is it possible that I can hear the voice in livetype also while editing.

No it is not that what I want is I have a lot of editing to finish all this is not any hi fi effect I have simple edits but timings problems have made my life difficult I want to be able to add text which has same effect as the one coming in Livetype but simultaneously keep listening to the video so that while I am typing in the text simultaneously I can view the clip forward that way I do not have to worry about the clip like when Livetype window becomes active then FCP wont play if FCP window becomes active then Livetype wont play so I was thinking if some how in Livetype I could listen and view clip while listening I will edit some thing like I can be able to divide my screen in two parts on one I can keep watching the movie and in other all text editing is possible I am using 2 monitors hooked on to the same machine for larger visibility.

I saw your post regarding your Cyberlink Power DVD will not play a movie. I will be happy to help you with that but I will need more information then what you provided. Is this a DVD or a Blu-Ray? Are you getting an error message at all? What operating system are you using?

Quicktime 7.6 NOT playing movie trailers from Apple site???

I have all the latest software OSX 10.56 running on a 3.06GHz Intel Duo but Quicktime 7.6 will not play movie trailers when on the Apple site. When I try, the site advises I need the latest Quicktime which I have already downloaded and installed fresh. It just doesn't seem to recognize it no matter which movies I try and view.
Please help if you can?

It's a piece of component software that's used by QuickTime to allow it to decode or encode different types of video/audio formats. The issue for me was that I had an old codec still in my system that should have been deleted/replaced during the last update, but was not. So when QT tried to access what it thought was an appropriate up-to-date decoder, it couldn't process the video with it and gave me a blank screen. Something similar could be happening to you as well.
Try deleting all of the QuickTime components and folders in your system. Because you're using Leopard, I'm not sure all the files will be where they are for me. Do a thorough search of your system and clean out any QuickTime files you find, they'll be in HDD/Library, HDD/System/Library, and HDD/Users/"yourusername"/Library. Then reinstall QuickTime using the installer from Apple's downloads page(or Software update will probably work as well). You'll have to restart afterwards and make sure to repair permissions after you've rebooted(use Disk Utility). Then test out the trailers again and see if that solves it.

ITunes will not play movie on PC but will on AirPlay

Since upddating to the new iTunes software (10.0.1.2) I haven't been able to play back any movies that I have purchased on iTunes on my Windows 7 Pro computer.
I thought that maybe my database was currupt so I created a new libary on the computer and started fresh and downloading my music and my movies that I have previously purchased.
I still cannot play a movie on my Windows 7 Pro PC.
When I click on a movie, it looks like it opens the movie on the screen, the playback controls appear and you can move the timeline and see / move the different chapter names on where the movies is at.
The screen remains black and you do not see the sound.
I tried turning on Airplay and that worked playing the movies from my PC to my Apple TV so that confirms the movie file is okay.
I have tried turning off in QuickTime the Direct3D Accelleration and alos putting Quicktime in Safe Mode(GDI Only) but it still will not play.
Any help would be appreciated. Thank you in advance.

I don't usually download video from the iTunes store. I had a couple of long plane rides coming up and thought I might have time to watch the Stanford IOS7 programming class. On the plane I discovered this issue which has gone unaddressed since 2011 and has been worsened in Mavericks. in 2011 the advice was to open iTunes' get info pane and click run in 32 bit. That worked at least for some people. In Mavericks, iTunes will not launch in 32 bit.

) you can click on the file in the finder and it will launch in QuickTime. For some reason on the plane I could see the first lecture in the iTunes view but, although I could see all the other lectures in the finder, I could not see the first one.
Ah well, maybe some other year I'll think about getting up to speed on ios7. Heck, maybe by then they will design a decent user experience.

Depends of the specific kind of file you are trying to play. MOV refers to the file container. Any data compatible with the system used to create the file can be placed in an MOV file. If you don't have the same codecs available on your computer to play back the file or if your version of the QT player does not expect expect the encoded data to be in an MOV file container, then it cannot/will not play the file. Use the Finder Info window, media player Inspector/Information window, or a dedicated utility to determine what compression formats were used to create the MOV file and then install the required codec(s) if available.

10.8.5 ITUNES WILL NOT PLAY MOVIES DOWNLOADED FROM ITUNES

Downloaded the new iTunes last night and it seems to work well with music but it will not play movies I've downloaded from the iTunes store. The sore works, Radio works, I can buy from the store but movies I have from iTunes (Star Trek, The Incredibles, ST: Into Darkeness among others) strat then crash. I get a message about an error with a plug in (FX I think) that has failed or is not found.
Anybody else seeing this? Any solutions?

Okay, I think I found my problem. I have SRS iWOw installed and the FX plugin is part of that. If I disable iWow all movies play as they are supposed to.
Looks like I need to contact SRS for an update/upgrade or dump it and find another sound enhancer app.

Itunes videos will not play on Itouch-- HELP!! (please)

I recently purchased an Itouch, (& I love it!!-for the most part) I just have one issue... none of the videos I purchased in the Itunes store will play on it! They will transfer without issue, but when I try to play it on my Itouch I get this message: "This movie could not be played". So my tv shows, music videos, AND movies will not play! (note: all were purchased/ downloaded from the itunes store). [They will play on my old Ipod mini tho...)
I have spent two days perusing Apple support and all over the internet looking for a fix... nothing is working. I have the latest edition of itunes and everything. I have reset my Itouch, taken everything off and put it back on. I have un-installed and re-installed itunes... I have also done all of the trouble shooting steps... like the downloading of the sample video...
One message board told me that I could go to Advanced> Create Iphone or Itouch version & that should do the trick... nope. It's not even an option for me... and since I don't have QuickTime PRO it won't let me convert and export my videos either.
I am rather distressed about this, so I really hope you can help me.

I don't understand what your iPod model has to do with your version of iTunes...
... this option is in the iTunes' Advanced menu... if you have the latest version of iTunes installed, it would be right there... only grayed out if you don't have a video file selected.

Itunes will not play movies... To play this movie install quick time

I downloaded itunes on a new computer and it won't play movies. It keeps giving me the error "This movie requires Quick Time which is not included in this version of itunes. To play this movie install quick time." I've installed Quick Time, uninstalled it, installed it again, tried a change and repair trick that I read about but nothing has worked...please anybody help.

Can you check something for me please? I'd like to try doing a "Run as administrator" on your iTunes.
Quit iTunes first.
In Computer, open Local Disk C: or whichever drive you have your program files installed on.
Open the "Program files" folder.
Open the "iTunes" folder.
Right-click on the iTunes.exe file and select "run as administrator".
Try playing the movie now. Does it play for you without the message?

Videos not playing in itunes HELP

So I downgraded my iTunes 11 to 10.6 since I hate the new interface. But I've come with two roadblocks.
1) videos that I've purchased OR i want to preview before purchase will not play. they are just black screens and the timer does not move, there is no audio, no anything. when i re upgrade to 11, everything is fine. but i want my 10.6 back.
2) EVERY TIME i try to play a video, regardless of what video in my iTunes, it prompts me to authorize my computer and I enter my information, but it prompts me every single time, followed by the message that 1 out of the 5 computers you can authorize is authorized.

Never mind. I found iTunes 6.05 in the Downloads section of the Apple page. Now I'm back, thank God.

Safari does not play movie stream

Does anyone have any idea why Safari does not play the movies on the web page

You can find them under "Web-TV" (you have to click a little bit until a small window opens which has a button called "video starten" at the bottom right).
I believe the movies are reaplayer video streams.
Needless to say that the movies work just fine in Firefox ...
Any ideas, hints, pointers will be appreciated.

The video does play for me in a popup window via realplayer.
it also has the option to open in WMP.

Safari is also picky about code, this one is not the poorest & it does work for me so it seems something is interfering in your user account or computer,.
Have you tried the site in a test account if not that would be telling.
