3Gs phone being hacked?
I just got a message from my friend who never sent me the message. I know some people had the same problem years ago with the same phone with the same(-ish) message and I was wondering if it was the same thing. Also, who is the phone being hacked if it is? There has been so many different answers I'm not sure who it is that is having this problem, my phone or my contact's? I have a 3gs and she has a 4s. Does this happen on the 4s's?
This is the text in question. I've also heard that since there was a smaller square the phone has been hacked? Again... I'm not sure whose its was or if the information is correct.
The square usually indicates a certain character was used that your iPhone does not recognize. It is very likely that the message was sent to you from another device that is not your friend's. First I would check to see if the conversation says Text Message or iMessage. If it came as a text and your friend has no record of sending it to you, I would have your friend contact their carrier promptly. If it's an iMessage, then I would have your friend reset their Apple ID Password that they use in Settings > Messages > Send & Receive.

I guess you're talking about iCloud? Yes if you can see two devices it would appear that someone else can get into your account. Best change your password.

So, I've realised that my iPhone is being hacked, how is it possible that someone can hack into my iPhone and call and text people without having my phone with them? How do I stop this? Please help me find a solution to this, I love apple and if this continues I might just have to change my phone. And can the same thing happen on mac books? Any help would be much appreciated.
Sorry, but if your phone isn't jailbroken, that can't happen. Share your Apple ID with anyone? Anyone know your Apple ID & password? You might want to change your Apple ID password.

Video out works fine on my 3GS phone but not on my iphone 4. What could be the issue?
I have a 3GS phone and Apple component video cable that I have connected to HDMI capable TV. Everything works fine on 3GS. I try to do the same with my iphone 4 (hoping for better HD picture), and nothing happens. I am using iOS 4.2. on the 3GS and 4.3 on the iphone 4. Not sure if there is a bug somewhere. On the iphone 3GS, i get a message that says something like video redirected to TV as soon as I connect the component video cable to the iphone. No such thing on the iphone 4.
Can someone help?All parties do have the IOS 7.1. I really don't know what's going on I was using it last week & and I noticed updates one being ft so I updated and now when I go onto ft it looks like its face-timing, but no sound, then it says lost connection. but works on I phone? I don't like using I phone to ft as screen too small.

Upgraded 3GS phone to 4.1.2, now ringer goes on and off intermittently.
Is anyone else having this problem? I upgraded my 3GS phone, per iTunes prodding, to 4.1.2 Now the phone buzzes intermittently and I see the icon displayed for the "ringer on" and "ringer off". It doesn't do it because of any particular thing that happens, it just buzzes, whether I'm actively using it or not. Everything else seems OK. ATT is my service provider, and has no information on it.
Advice?I had this same problem, but mine was from the actual button on the side being used too much and wearing out. It was too touchy, all i had to do was set the phone down and it would start to vibrate. nothing I could do about it!

iPhone 3g suddenly says "iphone activeted" there was no updates done or anything. All apps, text, contacts are still there, but is requesting my itunes info to download new apps. I've hadn't had any problems with it till today, and I've had for 3 months. In itunes my phone was label "my name's iphone" now just says iphone. How and why did it rename itself? Is it possible to get a trojen in the iphone all I need is work to start getting blasted by emails because of me.
Nothing can be installed on your iPhone from a received email or from a website with or without your knowledge (including a virus/trojan) as is so common with Windows.
Not sure how your iPhone's name was changed, but it wasn't caused by your iPhone being hacked or due to a virus - since there are no viri that infect or affect OS X, which has been around for nearly 10 years or so.
You can change the name of your iPhone back to what is was as with changing the name of any file or folder name on your computer's hard drive.
Select on the name of your iPhone in the iTunes source list until the name area is highlighted to change it.
I also suggest doing an iPhone reset, which is done by pressing and holding the home button and the sleep/wake or on/off button simultaneously until you see the Apple logo and then release - ignoring the slide to turn off prompt when doing so. An iPhone reset is similar to a computer restart and does not affect any data or settings.
Since you've had your iPhone, how often do your power your iPhone off and on, and how often have you done a reset if ever? -

If officially unlocked, no. You have nothing to worry about. If hacked to unlock it, worry...as your phone will be re-locked to the carrier it was originally locked to, that is if the update even succeeds.

As the other page http://community.skype.com/t5/Security-Privacy-Trust-and/Incorrect-charge-of-100-Euros/td-p/867774 is now locked (wonder why) I have continued on here.
My account was hacked and all my credit used to call people all over the world. When that credit ran out they took €35 on the auto recharge that they activated ( I had it turned off)
I only found out I was being attacked when my PC sounded to say I had new messages and I saw they were from paypal for a skype recharge which I had not done.
I changed my passwords on paypal and skype right away and put in a charge dispute with paypal. I contacted Skype expecting to be told that it was under control and that I would be refunded, However instead I was told it was no problem there end and that it was my fault for letting the hackers guess or be given my password. They then fobbed me off and told me that paypal would refund the recharge but my credit I had before would not be refunded.
After looking on here I found that lots of others were also being hacked and fobbed of the same so I went back on the live chat and demanded my money back.
this morning I received this message and a refund of my lost credit.

Go into your iTunes account and eliminate the payment method to none. Then change the password. FInally notify iTunes support of your problem. You will find ways to contact iTunes support on this website. Email works very well with iTunes support.
You do not want to delete your account and there is no need to do that to prevent further hacking. The reason is that any purchases of music, Apps, movies or whatever made with your iTunes account will be associated to that account and you can redownload them if you change iPhones, get an iPad or to your computer. If you were able to delete the account, which you cannot do, you would have to repurchase everything. -
I dropped my iPhone 4S in my friends pool. It was fully submerged for about 30 seconds.
We took it out, dried it and put it in rice. After 24 hours I checked the phone. It turns on and runs smoothly. It connects to the computer and syncs perfectly. But after a couple minutes of use I get an overheating error message. But the phone is not hot at all.
Is this the result of the phone being damaged by the water? Is there any way around this? The phone works perfectly fine and isn't overheating at all.
What can I do?Despite the error that I get after a few minutes, the phone does work fine.
But by most peoples definition, the phone isn't working.
I just want to know if anyone has been in my boat and if the overheat message without the phone overheating can correct itself or if it goes away with sufficient drying of the phone.

I am very suspicious that I am being hacked....like the kind where they can watch your screen and see through your webcam. How would I go about checking to see if this is true? Is there a way?
My computer has been freezing up and three times now a message box has popped up with the icon of the yellow triangle with an exclamation point inside, but before I can read what it says or manually close it, it goes away......

Hacking of webcam control need not be a concern for Mac OS X users.
If you are using Windows, you are wise to be cautious and take every possible precaution against Windows' security weaknesses, whether running on a PC or on a Mac (and whether via OS X Boot Camp or one of the PC emulators that runs inside OS X.)
For OS X Macs, the only way I know to make the webcam "hackable" would be for you (or someone else who had access access to your Mac) to modify or somehow damage your Mac or its software. Unless an "administrator" of your particular Mac has installed, activated, and authorized Apple Remote Desktop or some other software for remotely operating your Mac, it is highly unlikely that anyone can be using your cam without your explicit permission and action. The reliable way to prevent this is to carefully control physical access to your Mac so it cannot be modified.
However, if you are convinced that your Mac has unwanted software that you cannot identify, securely erase your entire startup disk. Then reinstall a fresh copy (not from your backups) of OS X and all necessary apps and updates. Finally, copy your important user data files to the fresh system from your backup to your fresh system.
