3GS randomly reboots after 5.0.1 (WDT timeout)
Hi all,
I have since a few months a 3GS which was in 4.x, and never had any problem of any kind.
I upgraded to 5.0.0 when this released was issued, no problems while upgrading, and although I noticed my battery lasted less, I had no major issue.
When 5.0.1 was released, I was happy to notice it addressed some battery issues, so I quickly updated my 3GS.
Since the first 5.0.1 I experienced 3 to 5 minutes constant hard reboots, ie after 3 to 5 minutes, even while doing nothing, the iphone powersoff and on (apple logo) and reboots, forever. (battery charge was >85%)
If I removed the sim, or put the phone in airplane mode, the reboots disappear.
I then tried a restore from iTunes, thinking an app may be the problem, and after the restore, I had no single reboot ... for 3 days !
One afternoon, It started rebooting every 1 to 1h30 hours...it did so 5 times that day. And after these 5 times, no single reboot for 3 another days.
Last night, to try some battery tests, I let it drop to 5% battery charge, and switched off, then switched on. Since then, 3 minutes systematic reboots.
I had to put it on airplane mode to prevent this.
I noticed the reboot always causes a "panic.plist" log in the event logs, which error is a WDT timeout (the log enumerates tens of processes and is truncated...)
The number of applications in use at the moment is not changing the behaviour, I can have 20 open apps or nothing, the phone reboots.
I'll try another restore, but seems a weird issue, with the carrier or when the phone tries to hangup on a cell..
If someone has any clue ?..
I also having exactly the same problem as what you described (panic with wdt timeout....) The reboot seems to be random. Airplane mode with wifi on is okay (no reboot).
However, I noticed I have this problem 2 days ago while I still using ios 5.0. Then I install 5.0.1 and restore my data from icloud backup. I did not get any reboot while the phone slowly restore my 1000+ photos from icloud until it completed 900+ photos. Then it start to crash again and again and again. Now, I swtiched to airplane mode and it seems to be okay. However, we should be able to make/receive a call with iphone, right? It's not ipod touch.
I'm from Thailand. Carrier is AIS. Nothing to do with Orange. My phone is 3gs unlock.

My iPod 4 (2010) randomly reboots after 5.1.1 upgrade to iOS6 (WDT timeout).
After reboot I cannot power it with Power Button. Have to do Power + Mac, hold to 10 sec and than it will go ON. After 1 minute when it will go to sleep it will start randomly reboots.
Diagnostics & Usage Data log is shoving multiple "panic" error with Debug message "WDT timeout".
Any Advice what is wrong? With 5.1.1 it was running like charm.
Very disappointing.Try the following:
- Restore from backup
- Restore to factory settings/new iPod.
If you still have the problem that indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order -
Ipad 3 randomly reboots after last update
Last night I updated the IOS to 6.1
now the Ipad randomly reboots
Even when it sits idleSame issue with my iPad 3. Happened with 6.1.3 and still happens after upgrade to 7.
It's nearly full, perhaps that's contributing to the problem. Apple doesn't seem to know how to do memory management properly, nor QA, for that matter.
Also, they conveniently forego the troubleshooting tools present on other platforms. So the only way to get some insight is to bring it to the "Genius". Problems with that approach are: most often, the "Genius" isn't that bright a bulb and won't find (or won't be willing to spend time to search for) the root cause. Also, they now require an appointment, and that's a major PITA. I just don't have the time to deal with them and their ways to disguise shortage of qualified support resources under fancy terms.. My next portable device will be a slate! -
Two issues: iMac randomly reboots after watching Netflix, and left fan randomly turns on
Two issues: iMac goes into kernel panic and reboots after watching Netflix in HD, and left cooling fan randomly starts. Is this RAM or logic board?
Specs:
Model Name: iMac
Model Identifier: iMac12,2
Processor Name: Intel Core i5
Processor Speed: 3.1 GHz
Number of Processors: 1
Total Number of Cores: 4
L2 Cache (per Core): 256 KB
L3 Cache: 6 MB
Memory: 20 GB
Boot ROM Version: IM121.0047.B1F
SMC Version (system): 1.72f2
The fan issue has been there for a while, but the kernel panics, AKA crash and reboots started after I got new Crucial RAM for the 2nd time (returned and replaced the two 8GB sticks, because the crashes were worse). Are the chances that I got 2nd batch of RAM likely, or is there logic board issue here? You should post the most recent panic report. http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3742

Droid Random Reboot After OS Update
I have a Droid 2. The phone ran an OS update. Android version 2.3.3. System version 4.5.601.A995.Verizon.en.US. Build number 4.51_57_DR2-31
Randomly, when I wake up the phone from sleep and touch the screen it forces a reboot.
Also, and randomly when I power down the phone, it looks like it is off but a few seconds later it boots on again.
Has anyone has been experiencing a similar problem? This didn't happen before the OS update.I am having issues with random reboots. It happens several times a day, twice so far in 4 hours this morning. If I am some place I would normally put the phone on silent, I have to remove the battery because the reboots are not silent. My screen will also freeze at times and a battery removal is the only cure. Sometimes during a reboot, it will hang on R2D2 and again, a battery removal is the only recourse. I was going to attempt a factory reset but since I see that hasn't worked for some, I may not bother. It is a time-consuming process.

IPhone 3GS frozen/rebooting after iOS 5 update.
Hello all,
I updated my iPhone 3GS to iOS 5 last night. All seemed well until I noticed the restore was complete. The iPhone was frozen on the Home Screen. The flash of white the runs beneath the slide to unlock is frozen at different intervals everytime the phone reboots itself. I have tried restoring the phone multiple time. I am unable to perform a hard reset because the phone's sleep button is nonfunctional. When the phone decides to reboot itself, about every two minutes, I notice that for a split second it flashes to a gray screen with an iPhone in darker gray. There are words all over the screen but I am unable to read any of it before te phone resets. I think I see a "Peparing to Install" title on the screen, but that is a guess. Any ideas from anyone? I'm really at a loss of what to do.An update on my problem above. I too restored my software but all it got me was losing all of my ZombieLife progress, LOL.
It seems to me that my phone freezes/reboots when it is trying to grab a signal for an update. It has happened to me several times on the initial visit to a website on Safari and also on Nike GPS. I can still see the page I was on in the background a bit but there is no recovering the phone. I have to then hold down the lock button to restart it and sometimes that will not work unless it is on a charger.
Today my battery went from around 70% to the phone saying it needed to be charged in the span of a few minutes. When I did get it on the charger in my car it went back to 66% after rebooting.
I don't know if it means much but I have AppToolKit Lite and in the System Monitor it shows you memory usage. At the moment out of 254.23MB I have 120M Active and the only I am running is the app. Wired is at 40M, Inactive is at 32.20M and Free is at 63.90. This is after I double-clicked the home key and killed all other apps. When there are apps active the Free memory is next to nothing. Not sure if this is a cause but I hope there is a solution soon with 5.01! -

Random reboots after upgrade to mavericks
I recently upgraded from Lion to Mavericks (from App Store), and now my iMac reboots at random. The developer preview had similar issues, but there was a preview update that resolved this issue. The iMac is a 3.06GHz Intel Core 2 Duo with 16GB RAM. I didn't have this issue under Lion.
I also have issues with kernel panics since upgrading to 10.9, occuring randomly, at average 5 x a day of use (mid 2010 MB Pro 6,2, 8 GB Ram).
Already the install was near to impossible due to kernel panics. Did not have this before. I did a clean install from a selfmade bootable usb drive, because 10.9 would not install over the previous system with lots of diverse problems (unable to install on hd etc.) this was a very bumpy ride so far.
Bought a new hdd because was suspecting that (now from 320 GB Hitachi to 256 GB Sandisk SSD). I attach my latest panic report. Maybe anyone has a clue? I am not so much into the matter. Hopefully 10.9.1. will resolve this and the update will be released today ;-)
Will think twice about doing a .0 upgrade next time (actually I skipped both lion and ML for stability concerns, and now: voilà).
Any help will be appreciated

IPhone 3GS cannot reboot after reset of data
Hi, I have an iPhone 3GS that is not able to reboot or restart. It just gets stuck in the apple screen forever. I recently tried to reset the data in the phone. This is the result....
Follow the below steps and you are all set no worries:
1- shutdown your iphone with the hard reset "home button and power for 10 second"
2- connect the usb cable to the pc but NOT to the iphone"
3- open itunes
4- while the iphone is off, press the home button for 5-10 seconds then plus the other end of the white connection cable into the iphone
5- do not remove your finger from the home button
6- itunes will detect it and you can now restore it
I got this info from a good teacher it worked fine for me. Hope it helps you too. -
SBS 2011 Standard SP1 - Randomly rebooting after svchost crash
Last week 10/22, my SBS 2011 server began restarting randomly anywhere from every 2 hours to as long as every 4 hours. In reviewing the logs, it appears that an svchost process crashes (in Application log) which surrounds ntdll.dll and then many services
crash and the System log shows a request by RPC to restart the server.
I have seen similar threads but none of them end up with a solution or viable suggestion.
No changes were made to the server on that day but since this began, I have installed all updates to drivers and the OS but no change.

Random Reboots after Mountain Lion Update MacBook Pro
Hey All, So I've just installed mountain lion on my macbook pro, However I've been running into an issue of frequent (like 3-5 times per day) crashes. The screen simply just goes black and the computer restarts. Any idea what the issue could be? Here is the panic report attached:

Persistant, song skipping and random reboot - after multiple restores
My iPod is skipping songs that should work and also restarting at random when trying to play music. This has been going on for a while but now happens too often to ignore.
http://support.apple.com/kb/TA26488?viewlocale=en_US
I've followed everything on this troubleshoot.
-I'm using the latest version of iTunes
-My ipod is 120gb Classic, 2 years old. It previously held around 15,000 tracks but while trying to fix it, I only sync about 300 tracks.
-My files are not corrupted
-I've checked the bitrates and format, they should play without issue
-My iPod is stationary on my desk
-I've used 2 different USB cables and tryed syncing on multiple ports
-I've used resets, restores, and even used windows to reformat the drive
So where do I go from here? I'm not sure about my warranty, but if I take this in to an apple store will they solve this for me anyway?
I also want to ask if an ipod can actually handle my 15k song collection since the problem seems to get worse the more songs I add.
Ipods are advertised as being able to handle this amount of music but in general I find my ipod runs very slowly with this amount of music.Does anyone have any advice? Please, I'm at my wits end here.

Ipad Air random reboot on ios 8.0.2
I purchased a brand new Ipad Air, and upgraded it to ios 8.0.2. Since then, I am facing random reboots, after seeing a blue screen for a split second. I took it to the service centre, where they clearly said that it is an OS issue. When is the patch for this coming up. Is it really an OS issue?
I Have faced the same issue today. Checked the diagnostic report and found the following error

I suggest restoring it. I did that to all three of mine and haven't had any trouble with them.
