3GS update to iOS 4.0 - Calendar events gone!

Update and sync seemed to go well until I went to check my schedule. All my calendar entries were gone. The weird thing is I have a clock (simply called "Analog") which is very nice and simple, and you can toggle the month on the bottom to show dates where there are calendar events. The events were highlighted, but the calendar was empty. Odd...
Re-syncing to the Mac brought the events back and my other iPhone (both 3GS) didn't have the problem. The problem child was updated and synced on a (PPC) G5 and the second (non-problem child) was updated and synced on an (Intel) Macbook (current OS).
Otherwise no problems so far. Love the update.

iPhone 3GS -> iOS4 -> CalDav calendars appear in the list of calendars, but do not contain any entries.
If I create a new event in my CalDav calendar on the iPhone, it properly pushes the update to the CalDav server, then the entry disappears from the iPhone (the event remains on the server).

Try to reset the iPod by pressing the home and sleep button for about 10sec, until the Apple logo comes back again. You will not lose data doing a reset, but it can clear some glitches after installing new software or apps.

iTunes Match was not working after I upgraded to iOS 6. It was solved by connecting the iPhone to the computer, backing up the iPhone, and then doing a restore to factory settings. After that everything is working fine.

HT1414 If I Restore my iPod Touch, will I be able to restore to a backup afterwards (in the process of updating to iOS 5 in the event of error code -43)

I have just got ready to sync to a new computer (my old one got restored and all backups were lost ) and update to iOS 5.
I finally manage to recreate my old iTunes library on my new computer and transfer my purchases, sync my iPod an dback it up.
With all that done, I go on to update to iOS 5... But low and behold I get error code -43 "An error occurred while backing up this iPod-43 Would you like to continue to updte this iPod? Continuing will result in the loss of all contents on this iPod"

I restored my phone to original setting. (backed up before I did this)
It then installed iOS 5 automatically, and then I got the option to set up as a new phone or use last back up...so didn't lose anything.----
I have backed up my iPod touch, and am ready to restore, but amm worried that if I do restore, I won't be able to restore back to my backup afterwards, this will mean losing some data. I just need confirmation that I will be able to get "the option to set up as a new phone or use last back up," as i really don't want to restore and find myself with an empty iPod.
If it possible to do this, please coudl someone post a step-by-step guide on how to update using the afformentioned method, just to give me (and many others) peace of mind.

When you restore an iOS device the IOS version that will be on the iPod after the restore is the latest available for that model device. For the 4G iPod that would be 6.1.6

Calendar Events Gone

Hi Everyone,
Tonight all of the calendar events in my iPhone 4s disappeared. I had installed an app "CalenMob", following that, everything was gone. I deleted the app and restored the phone to a previous iCloud backup. Following the restore, the calendar events are still not showing up at all. I've checked all of the settings (I think) and still no luck.
Any advice?

in our situation we have lost only some events, our set up is 3 main calendars and three delegated users put the appointments on. The 3 main clients view the calendar in their surgeries, and two of the delegates are the two reception area delegates who make the bookings.
The third delegate is the office manager.
2 of the main accounts seem to be unaffected but one has about 20% of the calendar are now gaps (pardon the ascii pun).
The strange thing is that this inability to sync the updates for the one calendar has been present for some time, only one reception delegate has had the complete calendar. We have have put up with it while we wait for a tech' to migrate us from PPC to intell (hello Ian can you hear me!).
Yesterday though after the 10.5.3 u/grade even that delegate developed 'empty spots'.
Today we will us an exported calendar to import it into a new delegate local calendar, match the two side by side, then control click the appropriate event and transfer to to the delegated calendar.
oooorrrr Cyrus or someone with similar ability will rescue it all for us.
So far iCal server has worked as advertised (sort of), unfortunately the ad' was written by a windoze fanboy,

Calendar events gone and cannot input new events

I just uploaded the newest update for my Iphone 4, and now all of my previously entered calendar events are missing. Also I can not input any new events into my calendar. Help! I had important appointments saved there and now there gone!!!

Try a reset: hold down the home button along with the sleep/wake button until you see the apple, then let go. (No data loss)

Old Calendar Events Gone

My calendar events from last October and beyond are no longer on my iPhone or iPad.
2 questions. Can I get them back on there and how do I keep them from disappearing in the future ?

I want to ensure I fully understand so I may further assist! In which calendar and device were your old entries stored? Are the entries in your Gmail calendar? Is so, have you tried syncing Gmail calendar the device in question? Please share more details so I may further assist. Thank you.

IPhone 3GS update to IOS 6 problem

I recently received an iPhone 3GS (32gb) from a friend, and updated it to IOS 6.1, after the update, i tried to turned it on and went through the setup, but when it got to the activation part it couldn't activate, i got this message "Your iPhone could not be activated because the activation server is temporarily unavailable. Try connecting your iPhone to iTunes to active it, or try again in a couple of minutes" when i connect it to iTunes i get this message "We are unable to continue with your activation at this time" any help would be grateful, Thanks.

The behavior you're describing would occur with a jailbroken or hacked iPhone. If it was ever jailbroken or hacked, it is now permanently "bricked".

X-APPLE-DEFAULT-ALARM to remove default alarm from iOS 6 subscribed calendar events?

After upgrading to iOS 6, all events in subscribed calendars get a default alarm. Is there a directive inside the .ics stream that can stop this from happening?
Searching the web I found an “X-APPLE-DEFAULT-ALARM:TRUE” directive but it doesn’t seem to work and I can’t find any Apple documentation on it. Can you direct me to the full list/documentation of iOS 6 supported “X-APPLE“ extensions to iCalendar?

OK, so I have had this issue for the past several months. I think it all started when I upgraded to ML from SL and migrated my calendars and contacts to iCloud. That was a couple months ago. But now I am running 10.8.2, and about two weeks ago I upgraded my iOS devices to 6.0.1.
I don't seem to be having any issues with events that I create now, but all those old events that were migrated to iCloud a couple months ago, many of those sound alerts on the iOS devices even though there was no alert defined when the event was originally created. I have always had alerts off by default both in iCal and on the iOS devices.
So here's the question: is there a way to go through and disable all these spurious event alerts? I've been disabling them as the event reminders come up, but it's irritating. It would be nice if there was a way to turn them off all in one shot somehow.

Why are my calendar events gone since updating to ios7

Ever since updating to iOS7 my calendar is empty. All of my events are gone. Most of them remain on my computer calendar, but that seriously isn't helping me when I am out. I have 10 kids and my calendar makes managing that possible. HELP!!!

If you have not done so already, check to see if you are syncing with iCloud. You may just need to turn on that feature to see the calendars. Check both on your computer and on your iPhone.

After updating to iOS 5, the 'calendar' and '+' buttons are missing!

Did a restore and still nothing. None of my calendars or events sync from my other devices, just have a blank calendar. What can I do?

I just tried that - deselected ical under icloud preferences, then restarted - no change. On the new calendar page the 2 buttons (calendars and +) are not in the upper left corner like they are supposed to be. Anything else? thanks for trying.

Entourage Calendar Events gone bye-bye

I have the Blackberry 8130 and downloaded PocketMac for Blackberry to sync. (PocketMac v1.2(1.4)). Two annoyances have come up since my first sync:
I use only Entourage calendar and want to shut off the ICal options that keep popping up.
My last sync a number of Entourage 2008 error messages came up which I ignored, now i've lost a TON of events in my calendar prior to the sync date. I need these events and they are no where to be found.
Any ideas are much appreciated.

This happens to me as well, sometimes they suddenly comeback, sometimes I need to retrieve them from my backup. Its so annoying!
Were running af 2003 exchange sp1 server, I'm guessing it has something to do with that not a sp2 server. Most apple programs work better on that version.

Updated to iOS 6. Reminders are gone.

I updated my iPhone 4 to iOS 6 and my Reminders lists progressively disappeared over the course of 10 minutes. Now all that is left is the default "Reminders" list.
Any ideas? Have already tried logging in and out of my iCloud account to no avail. Please help!!!!

There is a chance that they're all still there. One change in iOS 6 with regards to the reminders app is that it now only shows you one list at a time. The other lists are still in the app, but you can no longer swipe left and right to see them.
If your "reminders" are all on different lists and not just on the main reminders list, then you won't be able to see them until you press the button in the upper left corner that looks like a "list" icon. From there you can see all your lists, and hopefully your reminders are still there.

For my part I wonder why Apple did away with the ability to swipe through the various lists. I loved that feature.

Any idea how to get it back? The app icon is gone and when downloading other photo applications, (like instagram), the camera feature is just not there. I have already reset the phone with no change. Photos are still accessible.

The next step in user troubleshooting is a restore. You can try that next. Connect the iPhone to the computer and iTunes and select restore. You can restore first from a backup, but if that doesn't work, then restore as a new device and then you can resync all of your data.

Calendar events gone when I open it

Nothing there. Completely gone. What do I do to get them back? I am not resetting anything because last time I did that my iPad crashed with a spinning circle for three days. and iCloud is worthless because I have no idea what's on there, can't do anything but push backup and hope it works, and that's SO NOT Apple of the good years with Steve.
I have lost all faith in Apple. All they care about is market share now that Steve is gone.
And it still doesn't charge.

Go to another month and then back.
Otherwise keep the Powerbutton and the Homebutton pressed at the same time until you see the Apple logo in your screen.
