3GS, Windows 7, Outlook 2007, Calendar Syncing Problems

As above, Sync completes with no issues, Contacts all sync with 2007 fine, but Calendar entries are not syncd either way.
Info Tab in iTunes 10 (latest version just downloaded)has tick in the box to say sync caledars
Please Help!

I had this same problem. The Genius Bar at the Apple store told me the problem was with Outlook. I upgraded my computer with Microsoft Office 2010 and my problem was solved. Fortunately for me I was able to get this upgrade at a steep discount thru an employee discount program. Others won't be so lucky and this "solution" could prove to be rather expensive.
I say this problem was caused by Apple failing to maintain backward compatibility with existing platforms that their IPhone customers are currently using. After all, not all IPhone users ONLY use Apple computers and this problem only occurred after updating the software on my phone to version 4.2.1 and I Tunes to version 10 on my computer.

  • IPhone-Outlook 2007 Calendar Sync (What worked for me)

    Hi;
Today after 3 weeks of day after day trial my iPhone-Outlook 2007 Calenar synch problems seems to be fully fixed. Once again this is what worked for me - I am sharing it and hope that can help you as well:
    Overview
    ========================
I now fully believe that the root cause of the issue starts from a corrupted appoinment entry in your local calendar file. This appointment entry in turn breaks your outlook sync file known as the .OST file. I will tell you how to fix this later. This file is what iTune uses to synch the iPHONE calendar with your Outlook 2007 (same should work for outlook 2003).
In short when the outlooksync.DLL file called by iTUNE, request to sync with outlook - it is the outlook that cannot resolve a corrupt .OST file and all goes to **** after that.
I say this as "This is up to you find this bad calendar entry, get rid of it, get rid of the .OST file, and finally tell Outlook to do a repair job on your outlook installation. I will tell you all how to do this as well.
    Steps to fix this issue:
    ===========================================
1- Go to your outlook calendar and delete any old appointment that still is in there. I got rid of anything older that 2 weeks. To do this just go to your calendar in outlook ... swith to a List view ... sort based on date and highlight anything older than that date and delete. This took me about 30-45 miutes of work... so be paitent with this step. Also, get rid of any holiday notification BS that Outlook puts in your calendar ... you can do this later.
2- Go to outlook-tools-trust center-click on Add-In and then at the bottom of the screen click on Go and validate that your two outlook sync dlls are marked and enabled.
3- Shut down outook and go to the following directory.
    C:\Documents and Settings\user name\Local Settings\
    Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook
and rename your .OST file ... (there should be only one out there).
3- Go to your control panel and do start/stop applications. Select Outlook and click on change ... outlook will come up with a few options. Select "Repair" this should force outlook to replace the .OST file which you just renamed.
4- Now starts your outlook and let it do its initial sync. Make sure iTune is off at this point. After the Outlooks initialization is done ... now comes the moment of truth...
5- Start iTune (I recommend that you select manual sync) and sycn with your calendar.
At this point I learned that all my calendar items have come in ....
Good luck and let me know if this works with you. Please Please remember the first step ... getting rid of your old appointments is the most important step ... don't rush it ... get rid of anything that you don't need.
    Cheers;
    Darab.

You can try resetting sync history by clicking on edit at the top of itunes and choosing preferences. Then click on the iphone icon at the right top of the window that opens. There is a button at the bottom of the window to reset sync history.
Also, you can try creating a new login on the computer.
Open outlook and put in a few trial events.
Then sync the iphone to this outlook calendar replacing all calendar data on the iphone.
This is to see if you end up with dots on every day.
If you do not end up with dots on every day, then you might want to take a look at any reoccurring events in the other outlook calendar.
    Hope this helps.

I recently updated my iphone software and itunes software. Since done, I now cannot sync my calendar. It is grayed out in itunes. Contacts, music, photos etc are all go, but not the calendar. Does anyone have a fix please??

  • New Desktop Mgr Stops Abruptly During Outlook 2007 Calendar Sync

Like an **bleep**, I upgraded something that was working perfectly.    I upgraded to BB software v4.2 on my 8830 and upgraded the Desktop Manager to v4.7.  Now, when I sync, it just brings up a Vista dialog that says it has stopped working and that Windows is looking for a solution (which it never finds).  I tried everything including turning off the AV and User Account Control (UAC) and removing/reinstalling the Desktop Mgr.  I even tried using Computer Manager to change the drive letter.  The only thing that lets me get through the sync is if I designate that the device calendar completely replaces the Outlook calendar every time I sync.  This is unacceptable, as it means that I can never originate a calendar event on Outlook and hope to sync it with my BB.   Aaaarghhh!
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Well, as a last ditch effort, I blew up most of my calendar events, and now the sync is working.  Must have been a corrupt calendar event.  Anyway, back to the task of reconstructing my electronic calendar....

  • ITunes 11 is not syncing my Outlook 2007 calendar on my iPhone 5 on a Windows 7 PC

ITunes 11 is not syncing my Outlook 2007 calendar on my iPhone 5 on a Windows 7 PC.
I have tried a number of things such as:
Repairing the outlook.pst file with scan pst.exe. This did not work.
Uninstalling all apple software on the PC and then reinstalling it. This did not work.
Turning addins off and on in outlook. This did not work.
Changing outlook.pst files. This did not work.
Replacing iPhone content with content on PCM. This did not work.
Restoring the iPhone does not work.
    Nothing works.
I have been working on this issue for a couple of days. It is driving me crazy. I am inches from formatting my hard drive.
Everything worked fine until the most recent iTunes update.

Same here. Spent about an hour trying various solutions to similar problems on other forums before discovering this one, which matches my symptoms exactly. iPad doesn't have this issue, only iPhone 4S.
My iTunes Match renews in two days. This is about the umpteenth disappointment with the service. I almost certainly won't be renewing now.

  • Problems with Sync iPod Touch with MS Outlook 2007 Calendar

I've seen oodles of complaints in this area, I'm thinking Apple isn't ready for prime time with "Calendar"
I have a 10 year old palm pilot, that has been syncing a MS-outlook calendar for work, and one from home, and it allows me to have a PDA with an accurate calendar. The work computer is typically newer (Windows 7, Outlook 2007), the home computer is typically older (XP, Outlook 2001). But changes between the two have happened over the years, and the Palm faithfully keeps on Syncing the two. I only want one calendar to see all my life's activities (work meetings, kid's dentist appointments, wife's sewing groups, going out with friends, etc.)
Did I mention my palm is 10 years old? I purchased an iPod Touch last week, and I knew in advance it would force me to install iTunes (so both are new).
While the ipod touch has wonderful things on it (I've jumped 10 years in technology), I need a mobile PDA with an "accurate" calendar. Note the word Accurate.
After Syncing, I see some recurring entries on time, some recurring entries out by an hour, some recurring entries that were deleted on my computer, still there in the ipod.
I've read that sometimes when you do a change (just to the content) of a recurring item, it can change the time of the calendar entry
I've read that there are known bugs in deleted recurring entries, still appearing.
While my Palm Pilot was not perfect, it handled those situations.
From ideas I've read, I've reset my backup in iTunes, I've emptied my outlook calendar, synced it empty to ipod, imported my outlook calendar back, and synced it to ipod forcing it to "overwrite", but problem entries still remains.
I've read some people say they no longer use recurring entries. Not an option for me. If I have a client for a year that wants to meet every Tuesday at 2:00 pm, but oh, I can't July 13, he can't October 19, how am I supposed to remember on those future dates, that the PDA while saying there is a meeting, there really isn't one?
How do I go about with the entries out by an hour. Show up for every meeting one hour early, in case my PDA is wrong. Not acceptable.
I've played with both date settings on the ipod (one is the ipod date, one is the calendar date). And both settings on my computer (calendar time zone and computer time zone). My computer has a DST switch, ipod does not. I'm really begining to hate DST both on the impact it has for a human body to switch, but also all the crap it causes in a more and more and more technologically connected world. But I have to rely on a city selection choice, that ipod knows if it goes with DST or not??? I don't really trust Apple on that one, sorry, it seems they've not latched on to the concept of time correctly. So I don't trust their DST on or off decisions, that I can't tell if they've done or not. I can't find any GMT time zones, I can find UTC, but no number is beside it (I want to choose my offset number of the time zone I'm in).
While I like many kewl Apps the ipod touch has, the bottom line is, I need a PDA with a calendar. And I need a calendar that is accurate. And I don't want to enter 48 entries manaully in outlook 2007, when I can enter 52 with just one recurring effort, and delete 2 that don't work on a specific future day.
I don't want to arrive an hour early for a meeting, cause I can't trust if calendar entry is correct or out by an hour.
How can I tell if DST is on or off on the iPod (I do business monthly in an area that does not do DST). Playing around with time settings in my iPod to try to get most calendar items accurate with their time, but after a sync, it changes my time zone on the iPod to Phoenix. And I normally have it set to Calgary. I know Calgary is MST (with DST), but what is Phoenix? Why should I have to look up what time zone they are in, or do they do DST? Why does my ipod time zone change after a Sync!!!
I'm a small business owner, but if Apple is not ready for Prime time, someone please tell me. I have a 10 year old son who wants my new ipod toy, and I'm starting to feel it is only that, a toy, not yet ready for business.
Thank you for reading thus far

I can't understand this question, can you clarify?
By 'put a CD into itunes' did you mean you were viewing a CD in itunes or you had imported the tracks from the CD into your itunes library?
On what screen were you seeing 'no sync high lighted' and what does that mean?
Do you sync your entire library automatically with your ipod, do you need to select tracks to be automatically synced, or you manually manage your ipod's library?

  • Problems syncing outlook 2007 calendar and ipod classic

I did a quick search and found many people with this problem but no solution that worked for me.
Basically my outlook 2007 calendar has suddenly stopped syncing with my ipod (I'm running Vista 64). Although I can see my calendar in the contacts tab - and there is a progress bar when i sync my ipod for calendars to sync - i cannot view any appointments on my ipod. Contacts from Outlook, however, are still syncing fine.
I have tried to reset all disabled products on the help menu in outlook but this hasn't worked. Others have suggested that Outlook should be open before trying to sync, this also didn't work.
Does anyone have any ideas how to sort this out short of manually transferring my appointments to my ipod.
Not sure if it is of any relevance but my calendar file on my ipod is currently completely empty at the moment.

After countless hours of restoring the **** ipod I've finally got my calendar back on it. I think what finally did it was backing up my calendar in outlook and then deleting it, syncing the ipod with the new blank outlook calendar and then reloading my backed up calendar in outlook and syncing my ipod again with the calendar. I know there's a lot of folks in the same position I was in so I hope this helps.

  • Outlook 2007 Calendar Appointments have stopped syncing with iPhone 3GS and Vice Versa.

Outlook 2007 Calendar Appts have stopped syncing with iPhone 3GS and Vice Versa. Only noticed in last month or so. Help required please.
May have been after an iTunes update.
Have upgraded to latest version of iTunes and iOS but to no avail.

  • Can't sync Outlook 2007 Calendar on iPhone 3G, iOS 4, iTunes 9.2, WindowsXP

I did upgrade my iPhone 3G to iOS 4.0 and iTunes to 9.2. Now I can’t sync Outlook 2007 calendar. Contacts and notes are ok.
I did try to sync on Windows XP SP3 and Vista SP2. I was unable to sync calendar on both computers.
I had this problem before with iTunes 9x. I was able to fix it creating a new PST file and copying all folders to this new file.
Now with iOS 4.x and iTunes 9.2 it doesn’t work. I did uninstall iTunes, clear the Windows registry, and delete all Apple folders. I also downloaded again iTunes and install it from zero. It didn’t work at all.
I also uncheck, check, recheck the Advanced options in iTunes to delete, doesn’t synchronize calendars, and contacts on iPhone… nothing works.
What else can I do to fix this pain? Any suggestion?
    Daniel

Same problem here. Just bought an iPhone 3GS, downloaded iTunes 9.2 and it crashes my Outlook 2007. Outlook simply stops responding, and I have to kill it. Won't even start in Safe Mode. I have to restart the computer to revive it. Next time I start iTunes -- CRASH!
I bought the iPhone because I wanted to sych my emails, calendars and notes. Do I have to return the iPhone now?

  • Syncing with Outlook 2007 Calendar

    Hi All,
I guess that there have been loads of topics raised against this subject. If anyone can help ....
iPhone 3GS (4.1 loaded) with iTunes 10 - attempting to sync with Outlook 2007 calendar on Windows XP. Getting the following error :com.apple.Outlook.client.exe has generated errors and will be closed by Windows.
No problems (so far) with Contacts.
    Help please !

Just got my first iPhone a few days ago. I use it to sync to Outlook 2007. The first few syncs went fine, but now changes in either the Outlook Calendar or the Calendar App are not synced to the other. The sync completes without problem (or success).
I guess I'm not the only one having this problem, which is worrying. Even more worrying is the fact that no one seems to be able to resolve this. If it's broken, tell us, and let us know when it's going to be fixed. The fact that we're being ignored is extremely poor...
There's also no documentation I can find about where to look for logs for possible errors, what else might be happening.

  • How to Sync Outlook 2007 Calendar

I am able to sync Outlook Contacts but NOT Outlook 2007 Calendar. I keep getting told to log out of Windows and logh back in, but that does not help either. I have only one Outlook Calender. Seems odd that I can grab Contacts, but not the Celndar file..... Help

    Hi to all,
I am unable to sync neither my calendar nor my contacts to my brand new 160GB iPod classic from iTunes 7.5. All ticked and enabled in preferences, I am aufait with iTunes so I have all the settings correctly enabled - I believe my stumbling block is Outlook/Office 2007 Enterprise Edition??? I have switched to Vista in the last few weeks but that is not the root of the problem, as I had this problem first on my last machine - XP HOME.
Is there a conflict with new generation iPod's and Outlook 2007?

  • Outlook 2007 Calendar doesn't sync!

Hi, can't sync Outlook 2007 calendar with my 120gb. Contacts-sync is OK but no calendar!!?? Tried to disable Add-Ins, but still the same. Any help??? Thx

This problem probably exists because you're using work Outlook connected to an Exchange server. In that case contacts sync but for whatever reason your calendar won't.
Here's the Apple Support fine-print on that....
This sure seems like something Apple should make a lot clearer on their mobile me marketing materials....
    Symptoms
In the MobileMe Control Panel for Windows' Sync tab, you may not be able to select calendars to sync with MobileMe (the Calendars selection appears dimmed, or "grayed out").
    Products Affected
    MobileMe
    Resolution
    This can occur if:
    * Microsoft Outlook is not installed: Calendar syncing is only supported for Outlook 2003 or Outlook 2007. If you do not have either of these installed in Windows, Calendar syncing with MobileMe is not available.
    * *Outlook is installed but connected to a Microsoft Exchange Server, and MobileMe Control Panel 1.2 or later is installed. If Outlook is connected to Exchange, Calendar syncing with MobileMe is not available. For more information about MobileMe and Exchange syncing, see this article.*
If Outlook is installed and is not connected to an Exchange Server, but Calendars is still dimmed:
    1. Close the MobileMe Control Panel
    2. Open Outlook
    3. Quit Outlook
    4. Open the MobileMe Control Panel and try again
If the above steps do not resolve the issue, restart your PC, and Calendars should then be selectable from the MobileMe Control Panel.
