3PL implementation without Decentralized WMS

We are working towards outsourcing the warehouse for one division of our products. We cannot do the decentralized WMS as the 3PL doesn't want to have the terminal.
This is the EDI flow I am working on.
1. O/B 846 (Inventory Snapshot)
2. O/B 940 (Warehouse Order)
3. I/B 945 (Warehouse Shipment Receipt)
4. O/B 943 (Warehouse Stock Transfer Shipment)
5. I/B 944 (Warehouse Stock Transfer Receipt Advice)
1. I have no cluse about it. I know there is one message type in CRM to do this. But we don't have CRM. Any idea how to generate this one ?
2. For 940, I am planning to do WHSORD with DELV/DELVRY03 at the time of pick ticket creation.
3. For 945, I'll do SDPICK to pick and pack the delivery and then do the Goods Issue.
4. Will it be generated once the PO is released ??
5. Should it trigger aMIGO for Goods Recipt?
Thanks,

SAP integrates RF Devices, using SAP Console. Once the integration is setup, you can configure many of the warehouse activities to be executed on RF Devices. SAP provides a detailed configuration tasks to link the same GUI transactions to be executed thru RF Devices.
If you need more information on configuring the RF transactions, Please let me know the WM Business process so that configuration tasks can be guided.

  • ECC WMS vs  Decentralized-WMS vs  SCM - Extended-WMS.  Confusing SAP Strat

Have a Question ... pertaining to SCM-EWM = Extended Warehouse Management Functionality in SCM.
I am raising this under SCM out of not sure which Forum this belongs to.
I knew  WMS  Functionality that is part of erstwhile  R3 4.6, 4.7 and now  ECC 6  Releases.
Back in 2003-2004 also came  "Decentralized WMS" which was the same thing, but WMS implemented
on a Separate Server integrated to R3 via IDOCs/BDOCs.   It had additional functionality of  TRM (Task & Resource Mngt)
which I know as my team has implemented in my earlier job as SCM Manager.   At that time there was no WMS inside of  SCM  (primarily APO).
I am now quite confused with the  "Extended WM" functionality that has come as part of  SCM  along with APO.
    -  What is the reason for coining EWM ?  Architecture seems similar to D-WMS.   Is this meant to be a 'Replacement' for D-WMS  ?
    -  I am reading this EWM having functionality similar to  D-WMS  (eg : TRM, Cross Docking, RFID) ... so it
appears to be the same ... except now I am reading it has functionality called  'Slotting', 'Rearrangement',
'Transportation Cross Docking",  "EH&S Integration" ... all honestly very confusing to me.
    -  Is it that SAP will now do all the Latest Developments around WM only in the  "EWM" module & slowly phase out WMS in ECC ?
Thought someone might know.  This confuses me a lot & I as Head SCM am unable to give the Right Opinion to our Customers on where to head for Warehouse Management.
    Regards,
    Ambrish Mathur

Thanks for responding. But please bear with me for the confusion that still exists.
If I am looking to recommend to a Large Customer who is in Manufacturing or Consumer Products or Automotive/Service Parts or Pharmaceutical Domain who typically Manufacture Finished Goods Inhouse and then Distribute it from Mfg. Plants to Regional Warehouses to Local Warehouses in a Country or across countries to sell to some Distributor or Retail Store for selling it to the Consumers. In such an Environment most of the Warehouses need to be WMS Managed - particularly big ones where RF Automation is also needed. Some even track Handling Units and need to Track Plant Batches so usually Implement HUM / SUM and Batch Management along with WMS to allow Pallet Tracking.
If I were to recommend to such customers which WMS to choose for their SAP Landscape, it is a Confusion of Giant Proportions esp. when deciding between Decentralized WMS Server (i.e : WMS not in ECC but in a separate R/3 which was primarily given by SAP to avoid Performance Issues in the Core Operations in ECC - Batch Management, HUM & WMS can be very Performance Intensive) or use the SCM-EWM Functionality. I want to give a Recommendation that is Futuristic. Why does SAP need to keep both - D-WMS as well as SCM-EWM ?
Bear in mind that EWM is different in Terminologies from D-WMS or ECC-WMS in the sense that the "Transfer Orders" in ECC or D-WMS and they are called as "Warehouse Orders" in SCM-EWM so have different SAP Trainings . In both 'Deliveries' for Sales/POs/STOs get "Distributed" from the Executional ECC System to the EWM/D-WM system to manage Warehouse Picking, Putaway & eventually GI / GR. D-WMS exchanges information with Central ECC Orders via Middleware which is IDOC/BDOC based while I am not sure if EWM uses CIF of SCM or has a different Interface with ECC.
D-WMS & SCM-EWM both run in a Decentralized Fashion to take care of Performance Issues with implementing WMS in the Integrated ECC Environment which I do not recommend for Companies wanting to implement a Lot of WMS.
So the Confusion very much exists between what to recommend between D-WMS & SCM-EWM to a Customer like above with a Futuristic Outlook in mind. It does not make sense for SAP to keep both.
What do you recommend for above-like Customers ?
Where do SCM-EWM Trainings happen (seem to be still not common) ... can you refer me ? I cannot see them in the India/Asia SAP Training syllabus.
I want expert help to make a recommendation.

  • Warehouse number from "Decentralized WMS" to "Centralized"

    Hi all
We have implemented a warehouse number with Decentralized WMS.
ERP and WM are SAP systems.
Now, weu2019d like to integrate WM into the same ERP SAP system (convert a warehouse number from "Decentralized WMS" to "Centralized").
    So, what shall we do?
Can we maintain the same warehouse number and do the customizing on it (deactivate Decentralized WMS and so on)? Or we must define a new one?
In both cases, (maintain the same warehouse number or define a new one) how can we transfer WM stock from decentralized to centralized?
    Any suggest?
    Thanks a lot
    Michele

    Hi Funky Tech.
Thank you for your answer, but my question is another.
We have already implemented a warehouse number as decentralized WMS.
Now we want to integrate it into ERP (centralized WMS).
    So the questions are:
Can we maintain the same warehouse number and do the customizing on it (deactivate Decentralized WMS and so on)? Or we must define a new one?
In both cases, (maintain the same warehouse number or define a new one) how can we transfer WM stock from decentralized to centralized?
    Thanks

  • Goods Receipt in Decentralized WMS

    Dear Friends
Our client processes the GRN by creating a Inbound delivery for PO, Then MIGO with movement type 107 for the inbound delivery and then MIGO with 109.
Now do i process the Stock putaway in Decentralized WMS since i understand that inbound delivery is replicated in the Decentral WMS and the subsequent confirmation is done in central system upon the confirmation of TO.
The requirement is that the process of putaway in the decentral WMS must be started after MIGO -109.
Please advise me on this. Your help shall be greatly appreciated
    Thanks

    Hi Anand,
What is the main idea for the 107 and 109? Why don't you create the PO with stock type "S" and then take the stock to your WH in this stock mode? When the goods are cleared/released you do a migo 343 to transfer the stoc kfrom block to unrestricted?
I checked out the process with 107 (where the PO has an sloc which is linked to the DWM sloc) and this is not possible.
Is this in special cases or for all inbound materials?

  • Diff bet central processing and local operations in decentralized WMS

    Hi Gurus,
Will any one give clear picture about exact diff between central processing and local operations in the functionality and configuration part, which comes under decentralized WM Integration.
mail me  any doc or pdf,,to [email protected]
SPRO, path Le -> Decentralized WMS Integration -> Central processing, local Operations.
    Full points for useful answer
    Regards,
    Venkat

    Hello Venkatesh,
Let me try to explain in simple words.
In decentralized scenario you will be using two different system
    1. Central system
    2. Decentral system (WMS system and it can be any application i.e. SAP or other WMS application) in which you will carry out WH transactions.
Now when you have SAP system as Central system at that time you will make settings in "Central Processing"
When you are using your SAP system as Decentral system (which is linked to other Central system) at that time you will make settings in "Local Operations"
    Hope this helps.

  • Retail : Merchandise Distribution and decentralized WMS

    Hello Dear Experts !
My customer uses SAP Retail and a decentralized WMS.
We're setting up a FT flow, but the WMS requires to know that a GR is subject to distribution using the link Vendor PO-Store deliveries.
So, the standard business process is not applicable :
    - Create the store's STO/SO
    - Create a global vendor PO
    - Create the GR.
    - Adjust the quantities
    - Create the deliveries
This because at the interfacing of the vendor PO, we can't adjust the quantities (as the GR is not done...)
I'm trying to convince the customer this is NOT the best practice, but...
Does anyone have any suggestion how I could set up such a flow using standard functionality ?
    Thanks for your help.
    Didier.

  • Packing from Decentralized WMS

We are working on decentralized WMS integration with non-SAP system. We have a problem now - SAP doesn't allow to create handling units for shipment received with SHPMNT IDoc from an external warehouse.
What is a process planed within decentralized WMS, how packages can be created, if we want to put in a single handling unit items from different deliveries?
We planned to use shipment document for that, but now because of error saying "The handling units for the item that is to be packed are maintained in another (decentralized) system. It is not possible to pack in this system." it's not clear anymore
    Thanks
    Maris

Thanks for answering, but can you please be more specific?
We are planning to follow that procedure:
    1) SAP sends outbound deliveries to WMS
    2) WMS sends back confirm decentral for goods issue
    3) WMS sends shipments with packing data, where in handling units several deliveries are packed together
We cannot use packing for deliveries with confirm decentral idoc, because WMS packs in single handling units items from different deliveries. They pack the goods the most efficient way and if several deliveries has to be delivered to customer, then WMS packs them all together.
What is the procedure that you have?

  • PS Implementation without COPA

    Hi Gurus,
    Can anybody clarify following queries.....
    1. Can we implement PS Module without COPA Module.
    2. If so, what will be the settlement object in settlement rule. (WBS Settlement)
Note: We are implementing PS module for Customer Projects and COPA is not in our implementation scope.
    Regards,
    Ganesh Ck

It is ideal to have PS module along with COPA. However we can implement just the PS module. The only small issue that we would have is settlement of revenues. We need to settle revenue only to revenue GL accounts You have is create appropraite allocation structure:
    1. Create allocation structure
    2. Create 2 assignments "Rev" and "COST"
    3. For source assign all cost related accounts to "COST" and revenue related accounts to "REV"
    4. For settlement, the receiver category can be cost center/wbs element for "COST". The receiver category has to be GL accounts for "REV"

  • Mexico Digital Invoice Implementation without XI.

    Hi All,
We are in the process of generating Digital invoice for Mexico.
Is it possible to generate the Digital invoice without the XI system? If possible then what are the hurdles and challenges in achieving this. I did go through the list of Notes mentioned by SAP to implement Digital Signatures for Mexico. But they dont seem to mention about implementing with out XI system.
Also is there any standard process to generate the XML required for Mexico. Appreciate any clarification for the above queries..
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    Navin.

    Hi Naveen,
Is important to consider three points at the moment of implementin Digital Invoice Mexico:
Enablement of ODN (official document numbering).
    Enable digital signature in SAP.
    Creation of XML.
You can perform the first two options withount PI/XI but the only problem will be the generation of XML, that for fiscal purposes is the digital invoice. If you are not using PI/XI you can do that by ABAP, Webmethods or any tool that generates XML.
If you decide to generate the XML with ABAP, you dont need to use IDOC but is still needed to create an output message that generates the XML instead a smartform or other. This can be sent automatically to customers or to any kind of repository to keep the files for fiscal term.
The structure of the XML must follows all Mexican requirements acording to Anexo 20 that you can find only in spanish.
I suggest you to read the attachments on the following note, where you can find the structure and requirements and order of each XML field:
1318342 - Digital Invoice Mexico IDoc basic type INVOIC02 Extension
Regarding the standard process to generate XML in SAP, the only information provided by SAP is for PI/XI, so your ABAP team needs to take a look for anexo 20 structure:
    ftp://ftp2.sat.gob.mx/asistencia_servicio_ftp/publicaciones/cfd/Anexo20RMF2010.pdf
I hope this may help you.

  • Crystal implementation without BOBJ

    Hi,
What are the possibilities of implementing Crystal Reports without going for a full blown BOBJ project?
What are pre-requisites for clients who have
    1. ) just ECC -
    2) ECC and BI
Do thet need the BOE installation for utilizing basic Crystal capabilities?
    Thanks,
    Raj

If you do not have a BOE server installaiton then you cannot let your users access the reports over the network using only their internet browser. Every user has to have a CR Designer installation in order to be able to refresh the reports. Additionally without a BOE server the parameter picklists are not really dynamic when you access SAP BW over a BEx query.
A BOE server provides also additional functionalities like object-related security, scheduling, report bursting etc.

  • E-rec 600 EHP4 implementation without EP

    Dear All,
I would like to know the feasibility of implementing e-rec 600 ehp4 without EP. I understand from one of the sap notes that, EP is a prerequisite.
If it possible, please share the approach on high level.
    Regards,
    Rao

    Hello Rao,
With out EP also you can implement E-rec SP04. However you will loose from MSS related fucntionality. You can embed the e-rec links in to share point and provide signle sign on access to recruiters and manager. Please see below link for more details. Let me know if you have any questions.

  • Decentralized WMS

    Hi!
We are implementing integration with non-SAP external warehouse.
We will be sending inbound deliveries 1:1 to purchase orders. Because of that we need to make goods receipts at item level for inbound delivery using IDoc SHP_IBDLV_CONFIRM_DECENTRAL03.
SAP has note 969403 - Partial goods receipt with external system. We tried everything that is mention in the note, but weren't able to receive goods partially.
The question - has somebody here been able to post partial goods receipts with SHP_IBDLV_CONFIRM_DECENTRAL03?
    Maris

Peter, you saved my day, thank you!
I have to improve my skills searching for Dec WMS integration notes.
