3rd Gen Nano and Tilted screen

hi guys i bought the nano in Amsterdam with a tilted screen,
i live in Korea, i was wondering what the policy is with this tilted screens
shouldn't apple exchange mine with a new one?
but some people in a Korean forum are saying that they won't exchange ones bought from different countries.
doesn't apple have a worldwide policy?
this is bad quality stuff....this tilted screens...

I believe Apple's worldwide warranty applies to all their portable items, including iPods and notebook computers.
Have you tried calling Apple yourself? Please let us know what you find out.

  • Which sportsarmband for 3rd gen Nano and Nike sportskit

    Hello,
I purchased an iPod Nano 3rd gen with a Nike sportskit. But now I'm not able to find an armband for it. The sportsarmbands I can find are either for the 2nd generation or do not have space for the Nike add-on.
    Any suggestions?
    Regards,
    Jeannette

I've tried 2 different arm bands, both by Belkin. Both are ok. One is called Sport Armband Plus. The other is actually a Belkin product I had from a previous MP3 player. It is just an elastic armband that can be looped through a silicone case (they actually sell one for the nano). The armbands(in general) are ok, but a little difficult to operate.
With my previous MP3 (not an Ipod), I used earphones that had an attached lanyard to wear around your neck, this was actually great. If you wear it under your shirt, it won't bounce around. To work the controls you have to lift your shirt (no big deal), but when you look at it, it is right side up. And the wires don't get in your way. Earphones are by Sennheiser and they have great sound.

  • 3rd Gen Nano and ihome compatability

I notice that my ihome radio/ipod dock does not recognize the ne nano. It has no problem with the 2nd generation nano--what is up with that? The port and everything else is the same. Anyone know of a solution?

  • I upgraded from Shuffle to 3rd gen Nano and it tells me installation....

Nano failed. I have reset the Nano, upgraded my iTunes, deauthorized my shuffle... nothing is working. What do I need to do to get my Nano installed? The shuffle worked perfectly.

'Nano failed' -- not nearly enough information. It's like saying, 'Doctor, health bad. What do I do?'

  • 3rd Gen Nano and Nike +; new Nike Running website vs Old

How do you sync your iTunes to the new nikerunning.nike.com/nikeos/ vs the old nikerunning.nike.com/nikeplus/ website? I like the new website but have to upload my run data on the old webpage and then logout to view my data on the new.

    Any update on this?
I can start a podcast and then start my run with "Now playing". The problem is that my run is longer than the podcast. When I change the music via playlist, I just get silence.
Is Apple fully aware of the issue and working on the fix? Are there any other work arounds?
I was thinking, maybe starting a playlist full of podcasts and then starting my run, maybe I could go from podcast to podcast. I will try that next.
I am also not happy that I cannot see the time of day during a workout. The "display time in title" used to work during a workout, but no longer does. I don't like wearing a watch while I am running.
Any ideas on either of these?
    Thanks.

  • What do I do if I disconnect my 2nd gen Nano and the screen freezes?

I know I disconnected it properly because I waited until it said safe to remove hardware and it froze after I removed it. What do I do?

    Hello chimaera01,
Try a hard reset. To do this, press and hold both the Select (Center) and Menu buttons together long enough for the Apple logo to appear.  This may or may not work the first time around, so be sure to attempt this procedure at least 3 times if necessary.

  • 3rd gen nano just quit!!!!

help,, just got 3rd gen nano and it was working fine for a day.. then i tried to plug it into the computer to charge and everything went black. Now it does nothing and I have tried to do the Menu/Center button deal... several times! The computer isnt showing it and neither is the iTunes. Please help or my son is going to kill me..LOL

You may STILL need to reset it, but make sure you use the HOLD switch too...
Slide the hold switch from OFF to ON back to OFF then immediately hold down BOTH the center and Menu buttons for a good 15-30 seconds or until it restarts with the Apple logo.
Resetting isn't always effective once and you may need to retry it several times to get it to work.

  • Clickwheel games quit syncing to my 3rd Gen Nano...

I recently restored my 3rd gen nano and resynced all my media.
For some reason, my clickwheel games will no longer sync.  I've done the following:
Ensured that my computer is authorized
Made sure I've selected "Sync Games" and selected each of my 3 games to by synced.
Before I sync, I see in the Capacity bar that the games are there.
After I sync, the games section of the Capacity bar disappears, as does "Games" from the color legend just below the bar.
I tried restoring again tonight, with the same results.  To retry, and uncheck "Sync Games", sync, recheck "Sync Games, sync.  Same results.  I also reset my warnings, and am not seeing any.
I've had these 3 games on this same ipod for years.  Not sure why they've decided not to sync any longer.
I'm syncing with Itunes 10.4.1.10 on Windows 7.  My ipod software is up to date.
    Any ideas?

Why can't you add them?  What happens when you try?  How is your iPod configured to sync podcasts?

  • Why no Nike+ sport kit category for 3rd gen nano?

Considering all the problems people (myself included) have been having with the 3rd gen nano and the Nike+ sport kit, does anyone wonder why there is no category for it here (only 1st and 2nd gen)?

It will be coming out soon.

  • Nano 3rd Gen freezes and must be reset when paused

I'm a fairly new owner of a 3rd Gen Nano, which has worked well (except for the occasional hiccup). When I listen to podcasts or music, and want to stop, I just hit Pause, wrap the headphone cord around the nano, and drop it in my pocket. About 60% of the time, when I pull it back out and hit any key to wake it up, I need to do the reset move (hold switch on and off, and hold the center and menu buttons) in order to get it to wake up.
This is a refurbished model, and if this is not normal I can get is fixed for the next 60 days - is this something that people experience regularly?

So if the unit is off, pushing the MENU button alone doesn't cause the iPod to wake up starting with the Apple Logo screen (should be a quicker start than the reset start with the Apple Logo).
If you bought it from Apple as a refurb, it carries the same 1 year warranty as a new iPod. If you got it as a warranty replacement for another iPod, then it carries a 60 or 90 day (I forget which) warranty or the rest of your year warranty on the one it replaced, which ever is longer. So if it is still under warranty I would send it back if you can not wake it with just the MENU button alone.
    Cheers,
    Patrick

  • 3rd Gen nano (RED) screen issue

I've just got my 3rd Gen nano (RED) but it seems that there is an issue with the backlight of the screen. Initially, when I tried to charge it with my MacBook with the USB cable, it didn't charge at all. I have to plug it into the power adapter to get it charging.
Also, I have to press the screen to get the backlight to "work" otherwise I can hardly make out what's on the screen.
What can this be? Also, is it a case of the iPod being fully drained of power? Please help! I'm getting this as a Christmas present for my girlfriend

To address the charging issue, make sure you are connecting the ipod to a high powered USB port (2.0) for it to properly charge on your computer. Often these ports are on the back of the computer, not on the front or the keyboard.
Yes, if your ipod is very low on battery charge the backlight will not come on.
Also, you should not have to touch the screen to turn on the backlight. In fact if it comes on when you touch the screen it is defective. It is only supposed to come on when you touch the clickwheel.
You should probably check to see what you have your backlight settings set to on the ipod. I have mine set to 10 seconds, so it comes on when I touch the click wheel and the light turns itself off after 10 seconds. If this is the behavior you see on your ipod, it is working fine. If you want to extend the time it stays on, you can set it to stay on longer under the settings. be advised the backlighting does use battery power, and your playlife may be affected by having the backlight on a lot.

White screen on a 3rd gen nano?  Doesn't want to reset, any help?

It fast forwards. Just hold down the right-arrow key and it fast-forwards while you are holding it down. That's how I got through all the O.J. stories on my downloaded news podcasts.
