3rd party conduits disappear from HotSync Mgr

I have added two 3rd party apps. (Roboform for Palm and TurboPasswords) During installation, each will add a conduit for synchronization. When hotsync manager/applications is selected, the conduit will show on the list. When I sync, the app will be updated on my centro. The problem is that when I install the 2nd app the conduit from the first app is removed or replaced. It does not seem to matter which I install first. When the second is installed it replaces the first. Both are installed on the desktop and on the handheld. I just can not have both available to synchronize.

It depends on what applications you use. Some third party applications come with their own conduits and these programs will only sync when those conduits are there. So if the conduits are only on computer b that is the only computer that the program is going to sync to. If you want to have it updated on both computers you need to have the program and conduits installed on both computers.

How can I restore 3rd party app data from my backup in the cloud

First a brief history. I use the iCloud to backup my iPad 2 and hardly ever synch it to itunes on my computer. I got the new iPad and restored the backup of my iPad 2 onto it. All was fine except that an issue I had on my iPad 2's Safari had transferred over to my new iPad. That's is for another discussion. Anyhow I went to the genius bar and they said to just setup my new iPad as a new device and then manually install everything back on it. Stuff like mail, contacts, etc, would be reloaded from the cloud. So I did and I noticed that one of my 3rd party apps, MadPad, had none of my saved data. Does anyone know of a way to restore 3rd party app data from the iCloud? Is there some sort of utility out there that would do this? I don't want to restore it from my previous iPad 2 backup because it will reintroduce the Safari problem back onto my new iPad.

Assuming that you even have a backup with the data in it, you have no choice but to use a backup in order to restore that data. That is the idea behind backing up to iCloud. If that is the only backup that you have - then that is the one that you have to use.
But if the backup is bad - or had corrupt data - then you will end up with the corrupt data again. You cannot selectively restore app data from a backup. you restore all settings and data - or nothing at all.

How can I set Firefox 8.0 to accept 3rd party cookies ONLY from selected sites but NOT from any other sites?

I do not like to accumulate 3rd party cookies and would simply not check the Accept 3rd Party Cookies box in Preferences. BUT in order to use my bank's web page I have to accept 3rd party cookies from a separate site that manages some of their transactions (like paying bills). This means I have to accept 3rd party cookies and then delete them by hand OR I have to check the accept box each time I use the bank's website and then uncheck it when I am done.

Should 3rd party app installed from app store has admin or wheel in info box?

I installed a free program from the app store called Kitabu (an epub reader). Click on the info & it said wheel. I thought only programs came with the mac by default will have wheel and all other programs (ex: iWork, microsolf office) will have admin instead--which they do, I checked. Is this normal for 3rd party app to have wheel group?
Also the quick look plugin in this program (kitabu) works fine when I 1st installed it (quick look & preview function can view page cover of epub books). Then it stopped working. Is it the program fault or my mac?

Either or.
Trash the program's plist file which is located inside /Library/Preferences. Repair permissions, restart your computer and empty the trash.

Call 3rd party web service from OAS J2ee application.

Hi everyone,
I have the following problem. I am using Oracle Application Server 10g (version 10.1.2.0.2).
I have deployed a J2EE web service to this App Server and from within this service I call a 3rd party Web Service (.NET) to a remote system. It works fine.
However when the remote server for some reason restarts my web service noway can find the remote web service. I get a connection timeout exception to my logs.
With a standalone client that I have to the same machine where the Oracle Application Server is installed I can call directly the 3rd party web service with no problems at any time so I am sure that there is no connection problem.
If I restart the Oracle Application server then the J2EE web service finds the remote web service again.
This means that whenever the remote server falls and recovers I will need to restart my Oracle Application Server as well, to let my web service find the remote web service. Crazy isn't it?
Does anyone knows what happens??

All depends on the service. You can not just access a service. You need things like if the data is JSONP or if they have instructions or keys etc. You need to just follow the instructions the service will offer on how to connect to it.

Adress book conduit disappeared from the application sync list

I installed the Groupwise PDA connect and it wiped out the entry for the Address book conduit in the applications list.
I like to sync my contacts to the Palm Desktop (ver 6.2) and the calendar, tasks, etc. to Groupwise.
I found a fix for this a few weeks ago, but I had to do a hard reset to upgrade my Palm for Sprint version 1.07 and the problem re-appeared.
I am using a Palm Centro.

How to uninstall 3rd party app from MacBook Pro?

Does anyone know how to uninstall a 3rd party application (RMSViewer) from MacBook Pro? The app doesn't work and I want to remove it from memory. I can't find an "uninstall" utility on my computer and the 3rd party software doesn't include an uninstall link.

Tap and old the app until it starts to wiggle. Tap the "x" that appears on the corner of the icon.
If that doesn't work, check Settings>General>Restrictions to see if removing apps is restricted.

All third party icons disappear Yosemite

While I'm editing my bookmarks in Safari all the third-party icons disappear from the menu bar. In fact they did not stop working but they just disappeared.
I tried to relaunch the Finder but without any result.
I fixed this issue only by logging out of my account.
Does anyone know what may cause this problem?

Same problem starting today except the icons are not working at all other than tool tips showing when I hover over where they should be.

SCUP2011 - SCCM2012 SP1 CU4: 3rd party updates fail to install with SoftDistHashMismatchEvent

We publish 3rd party updates like Adobe Flash, Shockwave, Firefox with SCUP 2011 into WSUS.
These 3rd party updates are imported/synchronized into our SCCM 2012 SP1 (CU4) environment and deployed to the clients/servers.
But all of these 3rd party fail to install. Software Center returns the following error: The software change returned error code 0x80091007(-2146889721).
The standard Microsoft Updates are downloaded and installed without any error.
The 3rd party updates are downloaded by the client, but are deleted after checking the hash because of a hash mismatch (SoftDistHashMismatchEvent).

The strange thing is that 3rd party updates are downloaded/installed succesfully when using the Windows Update Control Panel applet, while WSUS and SCCM2012 are installed on the same server!
Our environment uses PKI only for communication/authentication, because we manage multiple untrusted networks
All servers are virtual servers (VMWare ESXi 5.5) with Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1 + latest updates.
I already performed the following trouble-shooting tasks without any success:
- I reinstalled the different Site System Roles.
- Removed the SCCM client from the SCCM database and client and reinstalled
- Removed the anti-virus software
- Redeployed the 3rd party updates
- Replaced the E1000 NICs with VMXNET3 (server and client)
- Ensured no proxy between server and client
- Downloading and installing the 3rd party updates manually from the specified download locations
(e.g.
http://sccm.mydomain.local:8530/Content/32/04B9361CDC426D2DBC94B90A7BB0172CAE84D532.cab or
http://sccm.mydomain.nl/SMS_DP_SMSPKG$/fea1aeb3-af1a-45aa-b464-4f90422b4720) succeeds without a error.
I really don't know what's going wrong.
Is it a bug?

I recommend that you try uninstalling the following KB’s.
Run the following command to uninstall:
wusa /uninstall /kb:2735855 /quiet /norestart
wusa /uninstall /kb:2750841 /quiet /norestart

Use R3 46C as BI open hub destination 3rd party

Hi.
I am implementing Open Hub Service to 3rd party tool from SAP_BW version 700 N° 15 to R/3 46C, PI version 2004_1_46C.
I get following error when trying to send the data : "SYSTEM_FAILURE, with RSB_OHS_3RDPARTY_NOTIFY".
I think 3rd party tools, called from BI by RFC are not implemented on my R3 system. Still, theese function modules are present in BI.
How can theese tools can be added to my R3 system ?

Cannot enter 3rd-party certificate into SCUP 2011 on Server 2012

I am trying to deploy SCUP 2011 on Server 2012 with a SCCM 2012R2 primary site w/WSUS onboard.
Client is using a 3rd-party Digisign cert from a CA that is trusted through the enterprise. This cert has been imported into the private store and exported as a .pfx to be loaded into SCUP 2011. The Digisign cert is in the TrustedPublishers and Trusted Root
stores.
Administrator registry hack applied for Server 2012
Options of SCUP 2011: Successfully connect to SCCM local site server and local WSUS server. However, when I browse and select the exported .pfx, I am not prompted for a password for the cert, and no certificate information is displayed. Also, there are no
entries in the Trusted Publishers tab.
I am stumped at this point. Any suggestions? SCUP just isn't looking at the cert (which was ordered according to the requirements in the SCUP blog.

A couple of questions...
1. How, and where exactly, did you import the PFX to the WSUS Server (SUP)? Most notably.. the fully-signed cert needs to be in a cert store named *WSUS*, which has been notably difficult to create except when using the WSUS API to create it.
2. You don't need to export the PFX for SCUP, only the CER (provided that the PFX is properly held on the WSUS server); but even so, if you already have the original cert from Digisign, why bother exporting from the store to import... you already *had* the
full cert that could be imported to SCUP?
3. If you're not prompted for the password of the PFX, that suggests that it wasn't exported with a password, or, since no cert information is available, maybe the export failed completely?

3rd party chargers?

Hi there,
has anyone of you a 3rd party charger for his 5G? If yes, which one are you using?
I bought one over Ebay, which definitely is working with the 4th Generation. But the one I got doesn't work with my new iPod. The seller told me that he was wondering whether the new iPod uses a so-called USB Ping (don't ask me about it, I have as much technical understanding as my cat)!?
So, if anyone really knows, whether 3rd party chargers work or do not work. PLEASE post. Thank you.

There have been many, MANY, people on these boards that have used 3rd party chargers, even from "reputable" sellers, and have gotten their iPod completely messed up. Your warranty WON'T cover damage from a 3rd party charger. In my opinion, it's just not worth it...
