3rd Party End User Portal Offerings

Just wondering if anyone is aware of any 3rd party end user portal offerings.
The out of the box one does not provide the look & feel we are after (too "industrial" & IT-like) for our clients, so I was interested in any 3rd party off the shelf offerings that may available. We are a small, non-Sharepoint IT environment,
so customising the out-of-box version would not be the preferred option. We would be greatly interested in a more "client friendly" offering as delivered by many of the other service management tool vendors. We would also prefer to have a non-Sharepoint
version if one exists.
Another key feature that we would be after is for the incident/service logging to be integrated with the knowledgebase so suggestions are presented as the client enters the title of their issue. I've seen this in the client portal offering of a number of
other service management products and it is a great feature. Effectively can provide an answer to the client without them having to log a ticket.
Any advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

The master pages of the SharePoint are locked by Microsoft, so I kind of doubt anyone has any custom portals for you.
However you can obviously easilly change the colours, title and image logo etc via Site Actions \ Site Settings. I'm not a SharePoint expert but this is very little effort and any IT person can manage that. But if you say wanted to move the menu
to a top frame menu, you cant.

I think your entering Title functionality with Help Article suggestions would be a great future, same as here on the Technet forums, but I cannot see that anyone would have been able to create that functionality in SCSM with the portal. Maybe in future versions,
but I wouldnt hold my breath.
SCSM 2012 is not a quick out of the box product that you just install and off you go in a day, it takes a fair bit of configuring for the portal, ROs, SLAs etc. If you are a small IT counsultancy with small to medium businesses as your market, I might go
so far as to say this is not the product for you. But that is just my personal opinion.

HT4837 3rd Party LDAP users in local groups aren't recognized by wiki

Having followed the KB article on setting up wiki webauth to allow 3rd party LDAP users to authenticate (http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4837) I have found that while individual users can be given permissions to access certain wikis, but LDAP users placed into local groups cannot. Is this a bug?
To be more specific:
- Directory Access setup to allow authentication from LDAP server (this works fine for all other services like File Sharing)
- Directions followed in the KB article which basically enables plain text authentication and turns off inline login window (http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4837)
- Local groups created in Server.app -- Accounts -> Groups
- LDAP users placed into those local groups
- Services like file sharing recognize proper permissions based on the groups the LDAP users are in
- Configure a wiki to allow access from a single LDAP user (Gear Icon -> Wiki Settings...) ... this works fine

Attaching CVP call server Logs& UCCE TCD& Route Call Details for your reference.

From the CVP logs, it can be determined which side disconnected the call first. For each call, CVP keeps track each call leg. From Inbound Gateway to CVP is INBOUND leg, rest are OUTBOUND leg. You can then look at which leg the SIP BYE message is received first.
Since you have very basic log enabled, you will not see the exact SIP message. But it can be determined by the outcome of the message. Here is the snippet of the log during the disconnect:

The first Termination message came on the INBOUND leg which is the PSTN. That means, PSTN side disconnected the call first.

now if a company if sending goods labelled wit rfid tags to a third party company...then does dat third party need to have r/3 n AII installed too?? or d company hav to share their AII servers wit them???

if you customer wants EPC codes he doesn't need to use AII as you can send the ASN (with EPC codes) to
him so he will receive the electronic ASN
and if he also uses RFID (I assume that he does)
he can use the information from the ASN (EPC codes)
to create a inbound delivery in his 3rd party software
(if can be anything even own developed soft)
so you don't need AII on the other side anyway

I got a war file from the developer. now the problem here is the developer used mysql database to do the coding. Now we want to use SQL server2000. could anybody tell me what needs to be done in my case.

How do I get 3rd party photo software to work when logged in as myself?

As someone who works with expensively in photography, Aperture is one of my main software programs for processing photos, Now, with Apple apparently no longer supporting Aperture in the near future, I need to find a replacement. I have spent years avoiding anything made by Adobe except Reader, but bit the bullet and purchased an out of the box (not monthly rental) version of Lightroom, When I opened it after downloading, it didn't work. I kept getting an error message about the modules not changing properly. After searching for an extended period of time for how to contact Adobe tech support by phone, I was left to attempt to find a fix through their support community similar to this one. I received a couple of emails that attempted to help, but none of them worked, or allowed me to use the program at all, until it was suggested I log out and then log back in as another user to see if that works. So I did that and redownloaded the software as the new user and it worked perfectly.
But when I logged back out and then back in as myself, I was back to the same issue as before and I still can't use it as myself. This is highly problematic, given the number of photos I have access to when logged in as myself. Besides, I want to be me, not a different person.
Is there anyone out there that can give me a "For Dummies" explanation of how to get the stupid software to work as myself instead as someone else? I already tried several times to uninstall and then redownload the program, but that didn't help. (God, I hate Adobe software!)

You make good points. Please allow me to make a couple myself:
1. I am a serious photographer. And the first place I go with my RAW files is Aperture. I love Aperture. I also understand that it's not going away, so I will continue to use it. But if all the articles appearing in photography-related publications are correct, it eventually will be far behind newer versions of other photography software. It would be similar to something like if all my friends were using Mavericks OS, but I continued to use Panther OS. They would be far ahead of me in ability to do terrific stuff. Should the prognosticators prove correct about Aperture, then I will eventually need a replacement to stay current. In reading a plethora of articles, many of which were comparative from one photo app to another, I reluctantly decided to go with Lightroom. I dislike Adobe, hence, my reluctance. But it seemed the best of a series of poor replacements for Aperture. I didn't want to pay Adobe an annual fee equal to the cost of a single out of the box Lightroom product, so I did go out of the box in this instance. And my thought is that while I will continue to use Aperture for the near future, it might behoove me to practice on Lightroom so I am familiar with it if I eventually abandon Aperture.
2. Your second point is that this is an Apple forum, not an Adobe forum. Point taken. I have always gotten terrific assistance when I come here for help. I went to the similar community in Adobe and the responses I got there were not as functionally helpful as what I usually get here. And since it seemed that it was eventually found to be a user issue, rather than a software issue, it would seem that a community of Apple users would be of more assistance than a community of 3rd party software users. So I came here. And what do you know? It seems that the information I received here was far superior/helpful to what I got over there. It turns out my faith in the Apple community was well-placed.
When I get back home from work this evening, I'm going to take the info I received from Leonie and yourself and attempt to resolve my user issue. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

How can I hide the provisioning tab from end users?

Can someone tell me if it's possible to hide the "provisioning tab" within FIM? End users do not need to see this.
I know how to modify RCDCs to hide individual fields, but I'm not sure about entire tabs.

User can't see some OID entry from 3rd party ldap browser but OAM?

after tried to applied access control to some OID entry, user then can't see that entry from 3rd party ldap browster, and this is a expected behavior, but why the same user can see that entry from user management interface of OAM?

Hi Makson,
OAM's Identity Server binds to OID as a single user* (typically an OID admin, even orcladmin) and applies only those acl's that have been defined within OAM. So when you login to OAM as end-user X, the Identity Server (eg orcladmin) checks to see what rights within OAM have been defined for User X - but in this scenario any rights defined within OID are not applied to user X. By default, OAM end-users have no access to information in ldap (although the OAM Admins have full access by default).

Bea Portal: Installing 3rd Party Portlets / cms portlets

I hope this question is not too silly, but I am new to Bea Portal
Server. How do I properly install 3rd party portlets, e.g. the
cmsportlets available for download on the developer page ?
I extracted the zip files and then there is an Ant-Script where one's
supposed to change some parameters according to ones installation. I did
this and then I ran Ant, which actually copied the files to the portlets
directory. This is already strange to me: can the EBCC just create new
portlets or can it do something like "import" resources that someone
else has developed?
Well, so even after running ant, the portlets can be seen in EBCC, but I
an not add them to my page.
Any idea how to move on ?

how to remove save, cancel option when end user runs the workbook and make some small changes like using page items or increasing rows and columns
I already made 2 changes
1) I removed the option in Oracle Enterprise Manager under discoverer viewer of saving
2) I also removed the option of Allow saving changes made in Viewer when adding workbook to portal
But still the end user gets options of saving when made small changes to workbook like increasing rows and columns
Is their any place, I need to make changes?

Don't use JSP to serve a binary file. It almost implies the use of awful scriptlets and the invocation of both the response writer and the response outputstream which would only lead to IllegalStateException headaches in the server logs.
Use a Servlet instead. Specify the file name as request parameter and let the servlet read the file and write it to the outputstream of the response.

Best practice / configuring SAP for hosting 3rd party users

We're trying to understand what the best approach is for supporting a 3rd party using our SAP instance.
Our company has always operated with the expectation we're the only users using and putting data into the system.
Now we're required to support (consider it to be application hosting) another organization's use of SAP.
The two options we've been considering are:
1. Separating the data via role assignment / authorization objects
or
2. Creating a separate SAP client to support the 3rd party.
Is there a best / recommended practice to accomplish this goal? We have some of our team in each camp and don't want to re-invent the wheel as others must have already crossed this bridge.
We're in a 4.7 environment.

Can't submit generic Incident in SM Portal if User is End User

I have a Testuser who is in the End User Role and i can't submit the generic Incident on the Service Manager Portal if any relationship field (Assigned to , Related Items...) is filled out in the template by default (if blanc it works).

Thanks for the reply.
The User is only in one role and the Generic Incident template is checked.
I can see and fill out the generic Incident template.
The Problem appears when i submit the Incident, and this only if in the template a Group or User is preassigned as Assigned to User (If Assigned to is Blank i can submit the Generic Incident via Portal)

End to End Monitoring confiuguration for 3rd party systems

I have been trying to racking up materials for end-end configurations for 3rd party systems and can't find any..All the ABAP systems are perfectly configured in our End-End Monitoring system but can't find any of the third party systems..Is there a seperate method to configure 3rd party systems?

You can't include 'Third Party' systems in end-to-end monitoring. We had raised a SAP note for the same and below is SAP response..
"End-to-end monitoring stands for the functionality included as of 6.40 that enables you to track XI messages accross several systems. This functionality can be configured for all components that are able
to contribute information to this process monitoring, i.e. only SAP systems can be configuered."
Also check this from online help..
"The Runtime Workbench receives the data for end-to-end monitoring from the Process Monitoring Infrastructure (PMI), which is an SAP monitoring tool for monitoring end-to-end technical processes involving multiple SAP components."
