3rd party hdmi adaptor not supported after ios 8

Hi everyone..... since i updated my ipad 2 to the ios8 i can no longer watch or view my photos on the tv with my 3rd part hdmi adapter it says this is not supported now, i went to apple and they said its coz its not an apple product i said it worked before but no one is offering any advice.

It is possible that iOS 8 has been tweaked to sense the adapters being used.  That was done with iOS 7 and the Lightning cables - the iOS devices would simply reject those that were not in full compliance with Apple specs.  Some of he high quality third-party cables were fine and worked.  Those that were the cheaper knockoffs did not work, the device would not charge and would not be recognized by iTunes.
i always stay with Apple stuff unless they do not make a particular cable/adapter but sell a third-party item.

after upgrading my iphone3G, i tried starting my iphone and a picture of a USB showing connection to an ITUNE icon pops up with a message saying "simcard not supported" and "emergency calls only" now my iphone is useless. CAN SOMEBODY HELP ME PLEASE!! really need ur support.

has your phone been 'unlocked' for any network sim to be used? because if you update your phone this can sometimes be cancelled depending on how it was unlocked. if so, you will have to have it unlocked again (if it can be unlocked) or use a sim card with the correct network sim.
    hope this helps ;0)

Internet not connecting after ios 7.0.2 update on iphone 5

    Hi there PompasJr,
I would recommend taking a look at the troubleshooting steps found in the article below.
    iPhone: Hardware troubleshooting
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS2802
    Camera isn't functioning
If the screen shows a closed lens or black image, force quit the Camera app.
If you do not see the Camera app on the Home screen, try searching for it in Spotlight. If the camera does not show up in the search, check to make sure that Restrictions are not turned on by tappingSettings > General > Restrictions.
Ensure the camera lens is clean and free from any obstructions. Use a microfiber polishing cloth to clean the lens.
Third-party cases can interfere with the autofocus/exposure feature and the flash (iPhone 4 only); try removing the case if you have image-quality issues with photos.
Try turning iPhone off and then back on.
Tap to focus the camera on the subject. The image may pulse or briefly go in and out of focus as it adjusts.
Try to remain steady while focusing:
Still images: Remain steady while taking the picture. If you move too far in any direction, the camera automatically refocuses to the center. Note: If you take a picture with iPhone turned sideways, it is automatically saved in landscape orientation.
Video: Adjust focus before you begin recording. After recording begins, you cannot readjust focus until you stop recording. Exiting the Camera application while recording will stop recording and will save the video to the Camera Roll. Note: Video-recording features are not available on original iPhone or iPhone 3G.
If your iPhone has a front and rear camera, try switching between them to verify if the issue persists on both.

  • IPad 2 switched off and not charging after iOS 7.1 update

iPad 2 switched off and not charging after iOS 7.1 update. Pls help me. I have tested my charger. Its working in another device. But my iPad 2 is not charging with other adapters too. What to do??

    Hello, 92.romil.
Thank you for visiting Apple Support Communities.
I would make sure you are using an Apple branded cable with your iPad.  If you are, the troubleshooting steps in the article below may help.  The steps listed below for the iPhone and iPod still apply to your iPad.
    Resolving issues
If your battery doesn't charge, or if your device shows a low-battery image, black screen, or "accessory not supported" alert, follow these steps.
Inspect the connector at the bottom of the phone:
Make sure that there are no bent pins in the connector.
Make sure that the connector is free from debris.
If there are bent pins or debris, please contact Apple Support.
    Otherwise, continue troubleshooting.
Make sure that the outlet you're using works.
Make sure that the Apple USB cable and Apple USB power adapter work.
Plug the device in to power and let it charge for up to 30 minutes. If you don't have an Apple USB power adapter, try connecting to a computer's high-power USB 2.0 port (not a keyboard). The computer must be on.
If the device still exhibits an issue, try turning your device off and then on again while connected to power.
If the issue is persists, please contact Apple Support.

  • IMessage not working after iOS 5.1 upgrade! Feedback pls

iMessage not working after iOS 5.1 upgrade, anybody experiencing this as well? Feedback please......

You shouldn't have to hard restart and it shouldn't have anything to do with your router.  If anyone else runs into this problem try resetting the network settings on your phone.  All the steps to do this can be found here http://tekshot5.com/ios-5-1-imessage-fix/
Edit: Some of us don't have the option of resetting our DNS servers.  I run my own for example for caching purposes.

I'm on giffgaff and I used the giffgaff app from the store to sort this out.
Overall though I must say Apple has let itself down on this as why isn't something written in the ios script that keeps the original settings??

  • 3rd Party Plug-Ins Not Listed Under Inserts

I have recently installed two 3rd party plug-in software - Stylus RMX and Kontakt 2. I installed the latest versions of the software that are compatible with an Intel based Mac. They appear under the library/audio/plug-ins/components but they do not appear under any of the headings in the Inserts tab.
Do you I have to reinstall Logic Express 8 after installing the plug-ins? Do I have to direct Logic Express 8 to the components directory. I have read all the manuals and I cannot find the solution.
    Please help.

Thanks for the quick response. The RMX plug-in is in the Audio Units Manager. When I Reset and Rescan I get the following response which at the end is a pass, but the RMX plug in still does not show up in the Inserts tab.

  • 3rd Party Apps No Longer Work After Update

I just got my iPhone today and installed a few apps, Cube and GuitarChords. Both apps were working fine earlier. Later I connected the phone to my PC and it requested that I perform an update to v2.2, which I did. After the update, neither app would start. When I pressed the icon, it seemed to start for a few seconds then went back to the main screen. I reinstalled the apps and GuitarChords worked, but Cube still wouldn't start. I then did a hard reset (holding home and lock button) and now neither app will open again. All the apple apps start fine. Can anyone tell me what I need to do to get the apps working again?
On a similar note, how would you guys rate the stability of the iPhone at this time. I mostly use my phone for business, so if it's still pretty buggy I'd like to return it and get back on my Win Mobile phone for now. Thanks in advance!

    IT DID IT AGAIN!!!
I didn't change or update anything. I was using the Touch Term ssh client this morning and it was working fine. I tried using Win Admin later this afternoon and it wouldn't start, none of the 3rd party apps would. Again I tried the soft and hard resets. I even tried resetting the phone in the general menu. After looking around online, I see that this is an extremely common issue. I'm going to return the iPhone tomorrow and have my Tilt reactivated.
I don't know if Apple monitors these forums, but if so they should take note; if they intend to make a dent in the enterprise market, stability needs to be a top priority. Sure, Windows Mobile doesn't have a very pretty or friendly interface, but it's quite reliable. In the year that I had my Tilt, it crashed once, and that was the fault of buggy software I had installed. Honestly, this being the first Apple product I've personally owned leaves a poor impression of the brand. I know Apple can do better, I manage several Macs at work and I almost never get support calls from those users. I really like the iPhone, and hopefully Apple can get their priorities straight and work out the issues, as I would like to give it another go in the future.
Thank you again to those who responded to my question earlier.

  • HDMI output not working after Windows 8.1 update

I am using an Envy TouchSmart 15 and I have just run an update of Windows 8.1 based on the system auto update (it ran 5 updates). Prior to the update, I used a 27" monitor as the main screen and this was connected via the HDMI port.  Right after the update, the system doesn't seem to recognise the HDMI port anymore and it goes back to using the Envy laptop screen as the main screen.  I changed the HDMI cable but it made no difference.  I subsequently connected another laptop to the 27" monitor via HDMI and it worked fine.  So it appears both the monitor and the HDMI cable are fine. Please can you help ?

    Hey yawbus,
I would first like to welcome you to the HP Forums!
Thank you for sharing the troubleshooting steps that you have done already, and I will say you are correct that the issue is not with the HDMI Cable, or the 27" monitor. From what you have described in your post, it does sound as though the issue is with the drivers, possibly a conflict.
I would like to start of with installing the original video drivers that came with your notebook. I have included the document 'Using Recovery Manager to Restore Software and Drivers (Windows 8)'. Please follow through the steps for just reinstalling the original video drivers. After the original drivers have been installed, please restart your computer.
Now once the computer has restarted, you will need to install any updates that are available for both HP, and Windows. You can install both of these through the HP Support Assistant. I have included the document 'Using HP Support Assistant (Windows 8)'. Scroll down the page about halfway, and you should see an option for Updates and tune-ups. Please follow the options for HP updates, and Windows updates.
If you are still experiencing the same issue after the above troubleshooting steps, please let me know the full model number of your Envy TouchSmart 15. I have included the document 'Guide to finding your product number'. As well, please confirm the current version of Windows that you are running. If you need assistance in finding the version, I have included the document 'Which Windows operating system am I running?'.
    Looking forward to your reply!

  • IPhone 4S cameras do not work after iOS 8 upgrade

I have an iPhone 4S 16 GB, It worked perfectly under iOS 7.1.2. . . I upgraded the OS to iOS 8.0.2 about two weeks ago. ( Bad Move )
I noticed right off that my device was running a little slower, lagging, and worst of all my "Camera"  App does not have an image At All ! ! !
The Flash options, HDR options, Timer options, will switch back and forth, but that is all that works, none of the bottom selections work at all,
and when you hit the front/back camera icon, it freezes /locks the options that did work. I have done a deep restore twice on the device,
restored as New Device, still no change at all on the behavior of the Camera operation. One thing I did find out though, it is a Glitch in the iOS
software, pertaining to the Cameras Operation, reason being, is that I can go into the preinstalled Game Center App on the iOS 8, click on Add Photo,
click on Take Photo, and there are my cameras, working perfectly, front & back. I have done a lot of research on this issue over the past two weeks,
Reading Apple's own Compatibility Devices which start at iPhone 4S and later for the iOS 8.0.2, But, If you go into the iPhone iOS 8.0.2 Operators Manual, go to camera section, you will see that there are several of the New functions of the Camera that are only compatible with iPhone 5 and later. Leaving the iPhone 4S not capable of executing the full capabilities of the New Camera App. I've chatted with Apple Online Chat Support for several hours two days ago, the only resolve they had was to send the device in or take it to an Apple Store and they would correct that issue "Free of Charge", even though ,my iPhone is 3 years out of warranty, because it is a Software related issue.... All I wanted to do is find a way to revert back to iOS 7.1.2, I found out very quickly, that is Impossible to do, because it violates Security Issues and Apples Terms of Agreement," Leaving them Not Responsible for any issues what so ever that occurs to your device downloading the iOS 8.0.2. . Which in my opinion, is pretty messed up. . What is the Big Deal of reverting back to any iOS you want, Apple should support every iOS version they have, not the users fault that a New iOS does not work right on their device, slowing it down, etc...I run Windows 7 on my PC, I can revert back to any OS I want, no problem at all.. . Anyways, back to iPhone issues, The other issues I got with the upgrade is that, My device will not power back on after I power it off now, I have to do a reset to get it to booted back up and running, and when I do so, there is a white halo that appears on my screen for several hours, then it will finally dissipate (no idea what that's all about), , Also, the battery life is much shorter now, had much better battery time on iOS 7.1.2 . . . Apple Support said that my Case was the first they have heard of, which surprised me.
    <Edited By Host>

I'm not quite clear on how your phone is working right now. I also don't know what "every possible thing" means so here is what you can do to troubleshoot software issues yourself. To be safe do a backup before doing anything.

  • Macbook Pro Retina HDMI Does Not Support 2560 x 1080

I have both the early and late 2013 rMBP 15 inch but it seems like the early 2013 does not support my Dell U2913WM at maximum resolution of 2560 x 1080 for some reason on HDMI. Are the HDMI ports any different between the two? I'm tried using SwitchResX, but at 2560 x 1080, I can only go up to 53 Hz before it says invalid configuation on the early 2013 rMBP. On the late 2013 rMBP, it can output 2560 x 1080 at 60 Hz fine. It would seem like both graphics cards are more than capable of pushing this resolution, and if I connect through Displayport, they're both fine too. I was hoping to use HDMI though to free up a Thunderbolt port. Why are the HDMI ports not outputting at the same capabilities?

Absolutely, I understand that but I'm wondering if or why Apple has limited the HDMI port on the early 2013 rMBP. HDMI 1.4 should be more than capable at outputting up to 4k resolution, so it would seem like Apple is intentially limiting the early 2013 rMBP to HDMI 1.2? At least one post from as early as 2012 seems to suggest that installing Windows on a rMBP allows higher outputs. I thought Mavericks included support for HDMI 1.4 (http://www.reduser.net/forum/showthread.php?101431-10-9-Mavericks-4K-working-tes ting-it-now) but did they not extend it down to the early 2013 rMBP? Seems like it would be able to support it, no?
Perhaps the better question is whether anyone has been able to output anything at over 1080P on anything other than the latest rMBP after upgrading to Mavericks?
    From the earlier discussion:
"The port definitely supports it, but OS X is another story. If I boot into Windows and connect it to a display capable of displaying 2560x1440 over HDMI, it just works. If I'm in OSX, it refuses to allow anything over 1920x1200. Even if I try to force the resolution with SwitchResX, it doesn't work. If I create a custom resolution with a 40Hz refresh rate instead of 60Hz, then it does actually work. 2560x1440 @ 40Hz fits within the bandwidth constraints of a single link at 165MHz. So it appears that OSX limits the port to 1.2 frequencies. I'm not realy sure why -- HDMI 1.4 should allow for frequencies upto 340MHz, and the hardware is clearly capable based on Windows."
Now that Mavericks supports higher than 1080P over HDMI at least on the latest rMBP, did they just not extend that support to earlier rMBP's even though the hardware is capable of it?

  • Video mode not supported - after installing Lion

    Hi All,
I installed the new Lion OS on my Mac Mini, all went great and clean.
    But,
after 2 days of playing with the new OS cool new features I shutdown the Mac Mini and a day later when I started it my TV (Philips HDMI) could not recognized the video format and a message from my TV said "Video Mode Not Support" (I use the HDMI output to an HDMI port on my TV)
I went to my apple reseler and they reset my PRAM.
When I plugged it again at home it was working again.
Then I restarted it to check all is good... and again "Video Mode Not Supported"
It never happen with OS X Snow leopard. so I guess something is not working as it need to on the new Lion version.
I'm not sure if there is a workaround until Apple will release a fix but if someone know how to fix it, ill be happy to know...
    thanks
the hard part is that I dont have a wired keyboard or another display so I must go to Apple to get it solve each time it happens
    Eran

    Hi Markus.
Im trying the update software once in a while but still nothing... I'm keeping my MacMini up and runing cus I know that if i will shout it down it will not come back with the right display driver.
anyhow, it did happend once that I shut it down and then it didnt work again after it came back on, so I played with it a little, i took it out of the power outlet and try a few clicks on startup like alt ctrl P and R and cmd + F1 and few other thing and after a few tries it did work... I have now idea why and what actually made it work again but one thing I can say its that the new Lion version have anything it needs in order to work curectly the problem is that somewhere along the startup process (and now im gussing) the OS select a wrong driver for the attached display (in our case Philips) and send a video format to the display that cant be recognaized by the display.
I realy hope pple will issue a fix to this problem soon!! cus in adition to that I have some zoom issues too which im not sure where it is coming from and if it have to do with our issue.
Anyway we all hope it will be solve soon.
    Have a good one... Eran
